Voting Question: How do I create a Linux install .ISO in CD/DVD?

How do I CREATE a Linux install .iso CD/DVD? Better yet, how can I do this in Microsoft Windows WITHOUT MinGW or MSYS or those pointless programs. I already went to the LFS website, It REQUIRES a pre-existing Linux installation to create either a new OS, or a Boot CD/DVD. That is not something I have, or can change at the moment. I've tried using several compressed versions of linux (i.e. puppy linux, DSL, etc.) and "persistent .iso's" on usb, but to no avail. The previous answers were: Get an .iso creator. They only build an .iso! They do NOT create an INSTALLATION ENVIRONMENT. I need the iso to boot a specific build environment so it can partition, install, link, and compile the OS to said media. This done with SCRIPTING, particularly with the "boot.img" file or other sripts. Where can I find examples of these? Voting Question: Is the term "B.O.W." licensed by the creators of Resident Evil?

I'm currently working on my own script for a sci-fi action story. Some characters are either man-made or partly man-made super soldiers(i.e. androids/cyborgs). Since B.O.W. stands for Bio-Organic Weapon, it would be a nice term to generalize these characters. The only problem is that I can't seem to find the term used anywhere other than the RE series and I don't need the copyrights to come after me if this ends up going somewhere. more

Considering that over 99% of the religions are identical, is it really correct to say "three montheistic religions" ? I know there are differences, but these are trivial - for instance whether jesus is the "son of god" or not. I mean really, how much meaning is there in this description? How is jesus the son of god any more than anyone else can be called the "son of god"? Then there are minor things like form of prayer, eating kosher food etc. These are minor things. The major things that are in common include: - The story of creation - God as the sole creator and deity - The concept of heaven and hell, as punishment or reward for following gods commands - the concept of life after death - most stories in the quraan and bible are 100% copied from the hebrew scripts So really, instead of saying three religions, we can say one religion, with different flavours. Hello, I think I may have picked this one up on facebook or some blog, anyhow here is the situation: My browsers aren't browsers anymore--they're advertising machines. Popups rage on and on, and whenever I click on a link from google, I get sent to some tacky website where nobody would ever visit in a million years. I have to hand it to these xxxholes, they really thought of a great idea when they figured out this part: I am unable to visit McAfee (which I own) or any other antivirus site. And when I tried to use proxy avoidance sites to do an online McAfee "virtual technician", I was able to get as far as that page, but the virus (so smart!) prevented the browser from downloading the executable or from running any script that was not the virus' own. The best part, and I'm sure that virus creators know this and depend on this fact, is that McAfee gives no phone support (unless you want to shell out $50), and when you call their toll free line, McAfee tells you to hang up and go to their website. Hahaha, go to the website! Ok! I'll try that. Hahaha! Naturally I have run McAfee and I have also run Avast (I downloaded from a a work computer). Neither see a thing wrong. This virus seems to have kicked McAfee's axx. Any suggestions? Otherwise, tomorrow afternoon I go to a scorched earth policy (total wipe of disk and reinstall of windows, etc). Thanks! more

I'm an independent author that is working on a graphic novel with an artist. We're trying to establish a legal agreement between ourselves. Ron if you're reading this, I tried to contact you directly but cant! Here's the deal, I am essentially the project's creator and writer. My friend creates the art for my piece as well as creates the finished work with implementing my scripts, inking, ect. He also brings to life the idea and descriptive characteristics of the characters I conceptualize in my script and by my descriptions. I then evaluate them and finalize them as the character. I got advice regarding this (by Ron) and it's generally understood that (without legal documentation) he is the author unless you put that it in writing. So I automatically thought about joint copyright where we are bound by a collaboration agreement for the work. My biggest concern however is on the instances where he leaves as co-author in the middle of the project (say if like we are in book four). What then? Who owns what and by how much? (Keep reading Ron, I know you already said stipulate this in your agreement as to what happens) Well based on a collaboration agreement that we'd be using, it states that I would own full rights to the scripts and proceeds there of, and he would own full rights to his art and proceeds there of (but I am thinking about editing this so that 60% of the art belongs to him and 40% to me and in the script, 60% belongs to me and 40% belongs to him, just so I have the ability to sell his artwork on my end for profit of 40% where he keeps the majority). The work, or the binding (result) of both these intellectual properties would be owned by both authors at 50/50. Now the real questions, 1. Suppose he does leave, will I commit copyright infringement in using the characters he created (in art), but not the initial art he had already drew to continue to say book five with another artist since I still am co author OF THE WORK and define who the character is in my script? For example, if he had already started book five and stopped on page 8 and left. Now here comes a new artist to work on the project and he will be starting from book five and continue on but from the first page. Naturally I'm sure the old artist would still be accountable for all proceeds and royalties from book 1 to book 4, but am I ok and do I owe him anything past book 4? I already know that the concept and soul of Lida I would own since that is portrayed in my intellectual property aka my script, but this does nothing and would waist money on my end if the artist leave and I have to start all the way back at book one! more

Resolved Question: Release of involvement, who owns what?

Ok, A while ago I asked a question involving copyright over a graphic novel / comic book, where I am the writer and project creator, and my friend is the artist and character art creator (based off my specifications). It was said to me as far as property ownership that it is usually the artist who owns the copyright to the work, however if we did share a joint copyright for all the work, everything including the artwork becomes partially mine, naturally rights to the script also become partially his. Here's my question. Suppose under some variable or circumstance we can no longer work together either by some weird differences in an agreement with a preferred publisher, personal, ect. What happens to my IP...or rather, what happens to the collaborated work that we're creating? I want to start an online company over the summer. My goal is to eventually make six or more figures a year. I have many ideas, but I'm not sure which one is more profitable. I can easily get all of the scripts to make my website ideas, since I'm an expert at coding and programming. 1. A website where users can list, buy, sell, auction, or trade websites and/or domains. Sign up would be free. Once the site gets a good reputation, I would then charge a small fee to list a website just so that the scammers would not want to post a scam. After a successful sale has been made, I would charge a small fee. The seller would be able to post a snapshot of the website, info, and the starting price for an auction and/or buy now price. There is some competition such as flippa.com, but hey, competition could be a good thing. If I can do something better than flippa, by either lowering fees, or adding features, people would want to come to my site. I would also sell ad space on the website. This idea is great because people are into the web flipping business, and many people want to run their own website in hard times like this. 2. A job website. I know, you think monster.com, but just read this please. Yes, it would be like monster.com. Employers and people wanting a job could sign up for free. At first, I would not charge anything to post a job opening to get many listings up on the site, but once the site gets going, I would then charge a small fee to employers to list the job that is open at their company. People wanting jobs have cool features such as a resume creator. They would then be able to find a job they like, post their resume, and the employer would be able to select anyone he wants for the job. I would also sell ad space on the site. Although sites like this exist such as monster, just like in the previous idea, if I can do something better than monster, i would get more visitors. This is a great idea since many people are looking for jobs now a days. They want an easy solution to get hired. 3. This next idea is a pay pal type of site. I know you are thinking that all of my ideas already exist, but listen, almost every idea in the world already has more than one person doing them. Think, pay pal was first, then came virtualgold and epay which were copies of pay pal, but now are making 5k a day! Even if an idea already exists, you can still do it if you make your site better in some way. So the site would allow users to sign up for an account using a credit card, and would be able to pay using their account. I would first have to gain peoples trust using the site so they will be willing to give up their credit card info to use. The basic idea is virtual money. 4. This site would be a image hosting site. Sort of like imageshack. Users would be able to upload their photos to a secure server, and store the photos. If they are out of town and they need a photo for let's say a job offer,they can log into their account on the site, and access any photo. I would have a free upload where users can store x gb of photos for free, and i would also have larger plans which cost fees. Once photos are uploaded, they could be edited with the photo editor, sent to family and friends, or stored. Photo storage is a great thing since if a hard drive crashes, house fire, or something happens to your photos, you will have a backup on the site and your memories will be safe. I would also sell ad space on the website. 5. This would be a website for questions and answers. It would be just like this site, except it would have multimedia questions by video and or audio. I'm not a huge fan of this idea since YouTube is the leader and so is yahoo answers, but it's an idea. I would sell ad space. 6. My last idea would be a real estate portal where buyers, sellers, and agents, could sign up for free and sellers could post their house for sale or rent on the site for a fee. I would also sell ad space. Overall, I love the job site, marketplace for websites, virtual money, and the photo hosting site. I am not sure which idea out of all of the ideas could be the most profitable. I know someone is going to say that I need to have something unique, but I'm just trying to find out which idea out of these is most profitable. Resolved Question: How Can I Get My Python Script to Ignore I/O Errors?

I have made a program that runs an infinite loop creating a text file on each loop in a designated directory. As a precaution I have also made an antidote to this program that runs a similar loop to delete all of the files that the first program created. I then decided to run both programs at the same time giving the first one a head start. The deleter managed to pass the creator program and when it couldn't find a file, titled file12333.txt for example, quit looping and returned an error. This left the first program running and created an additional two or three thousand files before I could stop it. Now when I try to run the antidote it looks for file1.txt, can't find it (it already deleted it) and returns an error. My question is if there is some way to get the program to ignore the error and continue looping until it finds the remaining files and deletes them. I'm beginning to notice this recent trend in books, movies, and comics. Don't get me wrong, sometimes people don't realise a flaw in a good enough book or movie, and sometimes even good things just happen to rub off on someone else the wrong way. But on things such as male and female characters, some of them even child characters, the media in books and movies are starting to make more shallow and hateful characters (as well as overly materialistic) year by year. When I started willingly to read at 11, I started with modern classics. Carrie, Jurassic Park, Congo, Dalgoda, even extended to comic titles like Turok the dinosaur hunter. Needless to say, the depths of the characters were immense. You almost start emulating them unconsciously, that it's good to be a fighter/protector for your loved ones and country, that you should never let someone else hurt another person, and that friends stick together and not care about any BS. But now, we've got a whole slew of movies that seem to forget that. We're taught that it's okay for girls to use up the finances of their own families (and tax payers) because having Label dresses and admitting 'you have an addiction' is adorable and funny. We never hear of 'addictions' previously, unless it's the drink, I hadn't seen a frickin' movie glamorizing carelessness. War of the Worlds shows how handling an 11 year old would be enduring her rebutting even a sandwich, looking down on her father and screaming what she wants (and that she gets carried through half the movie), not to mention her teenage brother had to be baby-talked to in order to follow sensible orders. I'm just frustrated that women have to be cutesy and precarious women that constantly mess things up without learning a lesson or knowing better; or on the other hand, as cold dominatrix-es that make it difficult for the viewers to relate to. Young boys and girls learn that they have to be cool and indifferent, but at the same time sneer at their parents' efforts even if there's an alien invasion going on in the story (without them lifting a finger the whole time, of course). I'm not sure about older male characters and how they were handled, but even Marvel has been pulling off scripts that make what EVERYBODY say sound teeth-grittingly offensive if repeated in real life. I would be at ease if the creators admit that it's a stab on the shallow things of today's society; but since they're keeping quiet until they're trying to sell it further to the public, I'm beginning to worry that it's not the case. That they just simply think we'd associate ourselves with trashy and shallow personalities. I'm not sure, what's your take on this? more

The question is "How does Shakespeare create tension in Romeo and Julie In the script of Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare conveys a lot of tension building devices and techniques, from imagery to puns. Particularly in act 3 scene 1 in which two respected and powerful characters tragically lose their lives. This scene is also where this play unfortunately turns from romance to tragedy and everything starts to spiral out of control, therefore I can closely relate this part of the play to the word “However” as until then everything there have been no major problems. I also think due to the tragedy has been fore coming for years due to the Capulet and Montague family feud. Tybalt also shares his name with a cat or feline this can be associated with the fact that he has a very aggressive, dominant and sort of sly personality as it is like he is living up to and taking the characteristics of his name. He is also quite a troublesome character that likes to cause drama. At one point he addresses Romeo “Boy” this insult belittles Romeo in turn the audience expect him to react, it also strengthens the audience’s impressions of Tybalts personality. Tybalts insults are particularly good at creating tension as he is insulting someone who has an equal amount of power as him so they should be treating each other with respect and by not doing this the audience think they will have a fight also at the beginning he is in another dispute which ends in a fight so the audience know he’s capable of it. Mercutio name is similar to mercurial which means to be quick and changeable in temperament which he shows by stopping being a joker and turning hostile when Tybalt approaches. He is also an effective source of tension as he has a very determined and persistent personality and he is also very respected and liked by all the other characters and when confronted by Tybalt it is although he doesn’t want to lose his pride, therefore when asked to leave or go and sort it out calmly without violence by his friend Benvolio he responds “Men’s eyes were made to look, and let them gaze; I will not budge for any mans pleasure, I.” In modern English this roughly means “let them watch, I won’t stop just because they’re watching me” this quote is a good creator of tension as we also know that Tybalt will not back down either so can for see a fight. Benvolio which means is also similar to benevolent which means to be kind, however unlike Tybalt and Mercutio he does not create tension through hostility he creates it through trying to stop avoid the fight as when he says “I pray thee, good Mercutio, let's retire: The day is hot, the Capulet’s abroad, And, if we meet, we shall not scape a brawl; For now, these hot days, is the mad blood stirring.” The audience instantly start to visualize a fight happening very soon also by intervening whilst Mercutio and Tybalt are arguing makes them look weak. Romeo is the final character I think creates tension as when he approaches Tybalt you know there is going to be trouble as he is out looking specifically for Romeo. When Romeo backs away and refuses a fight this also makes them look weak and Mercutio feels humiliated as he has already said Romeo will not back down from you and will fight you. Dramatic irony is another device used to create tension, it occurs when Romeo enters the scene to see Mercutio and Tybalt disputing after Romeo and Juliet has just been married when he tries to calm down the situation he gets attacked by Tybalt as he’s being attacked he claims “and so good Capulet which name I tender and dearly as my own be satisfied” this means he also loves the Capulet’s as much as his own family which makes all the characters on stage surprised and disgusted however we already know why Also previously in the play when Tybalt see’s Romeo at the Capulet party he vows to himself “I will withdraw, but this intrusion shall Now seeming sweet convert to bitter gall.” Which mean “I will leave him and why he’s here he will think he has got away with it but eventually I will get revenge” more

I grew up in a catholic family (also baptized), but religion has played such a minimal part in my life. I choose not to follow a single religion (such as christianity), for one reason only: What makes christianity "more correct" than any other religion other groups choose to follow??? Just because you were born into a christian family means you are a christian??? that's messed up. Although I don't believe in the Christian God (and genesis) etc.... I believe that there is a master creator (a different "god") out there... one that created the universe, and the science which allowed our universe to naturally create itself. Personally...(and i don't mean to offend anyone by saying this)...I don't understand how somebody can believe in a story like the creation story in the bible. It sounds like a far-fetched cover-up to mislead insecure people into believing that they are going to heaven when they die...almost as a way to cope with a fear of death and "eternal nothingness" (thats the best way i can describe it). How was the earth created in 7 days? that's not scientifically possible. How was a woman created out of a man's rib? That's not possible either. Or was it just a miracle? ...like everything else that can be scientifically proven wrong. This is not to say I don't believe in Jesus and the morals one can learn from his life. I often enjoy reading verses in the bible to learn how to be a better person. I also read buddhist scripts for the same reason.
