Open Question: I need some SERIOUS advice with this situation PLEASE!?
Well, a friend of mine introduced me to this online game called IMVU. It's a 3D Chat Client where you use Avatars to communicate and interact in the game. I met a girl on there, and I have a problem I need serious help on. I met this girl in the game who I've known for two days, and last night, we were hanging out, on an IMVU date, and music was playing, and we were talking sweet to each other, nothing sexual, just sweet, and I got caught up in the moment, and so did she, and I wasn't really thinking and we became boyfriend and girlfriend, online of course, BUT, she has a two and a half year old child, and she is 22 herself and I an 19, and I'm not sure this is right, and I think it moved EXTREMELY too fast, and that I'm not ready for it all, I mean, don't get me wrong, I like her a lot, but I don't think we have a real future together, and I still have to go through college, and I can't support her or her son, and I don't know how to tell her all of this without being hated, and I don't want to be hated, I mean, I could just cut off contact, but this would be very rude, and I don't want to upset her, and yeah...I need advice, if you can give any, everyone has already told me, that I just have to tell her what I told them, in a nice way, and hope for the best. Just to clear it all up, I"VE KNOWN HER FOR TWO DAYS ON IMVU and she added me on facebook and MSN and I don't think this is true love as she claims. She claims that I am the only person who has ever treated her like a lady, instead of a sex toy. And due to transportation issues, I haven't even gotten to go to college yet. So I need to know how to end it with her in a nice way that will cause her the least amount of heartbreak. PLEASE, I've NEVER had a girlfriend before, and I have no idea how to handle any of this. I mean, two days, and she is in love with me, I'm confused, and trust me, I get emotionally attached really easily, but I just don't think this will work, she's in Louisiana, I'm in South Carolina, probably about 500 miles or more.

moreOpen Question: I've been hiding my depression since I was 14, I'm a 17 year old male but this is even worse than I thought...?
I'm 17 year old male in my final yr of high school going onto. I've been so depressed. Sure I act nice, and a complete angel to my friends and family and my mother (who has no idea what I'm going through since I've been hiding this). I know I've had depression for 3+ years. All the signs are there, and so. I always feel helpless and lost.
I KNOW admitting is the "first step" but I always stop right here. I'm just not comfortable with sharing my thoughts, emotions, and feelings. What I write in my journal is basically how I feel but I would never show that to a therapist or anyone else. They'll immediately overdose me with medication pills or send me to a mental insituation which I don't want.
Everything I seem to do is wrong. I fail all types of sports. I fail at bringing joy to myself, my friends, my family, and my mother. I'm not worthy of this place. Everything I have I wish I can just give all of my clothes, my toys, my video games, my entire life to another person who desperately out there needs food, clothes, and family. I'm not fit for this place. I'm weak. I see all those people out there and I know I'm selfish and self centered. I would love to give everything that I have to those poor people and leave myself out in the cold and lie down to die for eternity. I'm not deserving of anything.
No love, no ambitions, no happiness....just sadness, anger...
I don't want help. I don't understand why I don't as I know this is extremely dangerous and I've been suicidal for the past 3 years. But I just never want to express my emotions, and feelings. I don't want help from anyone. I just don't. I never opened up and never will. It's the type of person who I am. I really do hope this is a phase going by but I don't think so. I'm going to college next year and I'm so lost. I have terrible grades (D's and F's), I fail a lot of classes, school just is so uninterested anymore.I just sleep, and I'm lazy.
I'm so lost. I don't even have a job or a car yet.
I'm so pathetic it's embarassing. This takes the take on the biggest patheticness of all time:
Me falling in love with a girl online the last 2 years. What was I thinking? I knew that wasn't going to work out. Sure enough the long distance failed miserably. I really did fall in love with her. We texted, we webcammed, we talked on the phone every single day. It made me feel I was right next to her. I even met her and the meeting was awkward at first but went well later on the night.
She has a boyfriend though so truly there is really no point in me trying to go for her again or even talk to her seeing how girls at this age believe her boyfriend's the most important thing in her life.
Especially since she hasn't spoken to me in weeks. She's past on and I'll never move from it. I stay in the past forever. I continue to think about good thoughts that'll never happen in my fantasy world.
I've never experienced irl love in my entire life. Never had a reality girlfriend. Just online. Doesn't count. I'm a failure, low self esteem that will never change, get teased by my friends all the time. No one and nobody ever takes me serious.
I'm just nothing....
I almost forgot. I'm a patheological liar. I lie to my cousin about getting girls as he looks up to me since we were young so I make up all these stories how I lost my virginty and tips in getting girls. I lie to everyone about everything. I manipulate others and....it's just....

moreOpen Question: Tantrums while babysitting?
I am babysitting a 5 1/2 year old girl and a 3 1/2 year old boy! When ever we play games outside they get really competitive; even when is isn't a competition, for example playing on the trampoline becomes "I can jump higher than you!", or riding their bikes or scooters becomes "My bike is better than yours!" or "I can go faster than you!". I have tried to explaining to them it doesn't matter who is first or bigger or better, and that they have to play nicely together. But they have huge tantrums if one of them thinks the other is better than them. I have tried telling them if they have a tantrum they don't get to play outside and I have tried making them go inside...but they have SO MANY toys in different rooms, they just begin fighting over those instead. They do not play on their own so this is constant, and I am not sure how to control these tantrums! And tips would be much appreciated...
moreOpen Question: Strange Magnetic Card...?
About 8 years ago (i was like 10) i bought this toy (i'm not actually sure what it was, i think it was some sort of cheap black and white handheld gaming device) an inside it, i remember there being a card or "block". It was thin, and more like a card. On the back there is a label saying
"Warning:
Please shut down computer before you
change the game card, then install your
game card at last insert your intellect
card to make sure the game."
- what ever that means
and on the front, under close inspection ,there is another sticker with there being two anime women.
The anime girl on the left has brown hair , a white blouse, and a blue skirt,
The anime girl on the right has blue long hair with a red ribbon in it, wearing a white coat and a reddish top underneath.
At the top in red writing, it says "Magnetic Intellectual Cards" and at the bottom it says "Place of identify Magcard"
In the bottom left corner there is a yellow square with some lines in, beside it is a big red arrow pointing to it.
The back ground in mainly mixed of blue and white, with alot of white 0's and 1's.
Now, when i found received this 8 years ago (and found it today) i can see that the front sticker had been peeled off slightly, revelling where this "magcard" should be. But there is nothing there, just a shaped depression (like some sort of Microchip :L)
So, I'm asking
1) What the hell have i got?!
2) What the hell is a "Magcard" or "magnetic intellectual card"
3) What the hell does it mean by "instlling it into your computer"
4) Why is there nothing inside the hole where this "magcard" is?
5) Is this thing of any importance?! Thankyou :)
moreOpen Question: If you liked playing with race cars and lego as a kid, does that mean you're a boy?
when i was little i thought dolls and tea parties were so boring.... most of my toys were "boys toys" like cars and lego and video games.. i also loved to play pranks on my friends. e.g. i would put spiders in their hair and make them cry lol.. i was bratty, spoiled and naughty (thats probably coz i was an only child). as i grew up i became shy and less mean but im still not feminine. i dont like fashion or makeup or high heels... but im bisexual. i dont want to be a man or a boy.. i love being a girl but im not the typical girl..... i love having boobs and hips and i definitely dont want a boys' part. i watched a tv show about this boy trapped in a girl's body and she was a tomboy just like me..... im worried now. ?

I recently bought the new Downloadable content for Crackdown 2.
When I went to play it I pulled up all the menus and could do everything BUT play the game, whether campain, keys to the city, or multiplayer.
When it finished loading, it would just sit there and do nothing, it would freeze. I've tried the premium version, and the free version. I have also tried uninstalling it and it worked fine, then I re-installed it and it didn't work.
Please help me before I go crazy.

moreOpen Question: My dog is confused about rough play.?
My 9 month old border collie/lab mix girl is developing a problem.
She spends a great deal of time playing with one of our other dogs, and they roughhouse. They wrestle, chew, bite, etc....doggie play. This is fine, they play very appropriately with each other. However, she seems to be unable to differentiate between playing with people and playing with dogs. She runs up to us, leaps on us, bats us with her claws (ouch!) and bites us. Not aggressively, she's clearly being playful and even affectionate, but what is endearing to her 65lb bulldog mix bff is not endearing to us mere humans!
Firmly telling her "no" does no good as she seems to think it's part of the game, wags even harder, grins even wider and chomps away with wild abandon. Yelling at her makes her spin in circles in apparent glee but has no real effect. Completely ignoring her, folding our arms and paying attention to her only to unattach her from whatever part of us she's chewing on does work, but it seems to confuse her more than anything. She seems unable to figure out why we're not playing with her.
Usually when this happens she spends a good half hour to an hour sulking on her dog bed and looking at us sadly, but as soon as she's over her sulk she's ready to play again and the whole thing starts all over.
We've tried distracting her with toys, redirecting her to more appropriate play, but she's not really the brightest light in the shed, so to speak. She just doesn't get it. We're only serving to confuse her by refusing to allow her to show us affection and play with us.
How do I teach my admittedly somewhat dim little dog that she can play with us, but not the same way she plays with other dogs?
And let it be known...under no circumstances am I going to forbid her to play with the other dogs.
We've consulted a trainer, who's advice was to completely ignore her every time this behavior occurs, and to give her attention and praise and play time only when she's not trying to play with us as if we're dogs. As a result she gets zero attention....all of the time. This is unacceptable,as we can't just refuse to have anything to do with her. I feel this would be a viable solution only if she was learning.... and she's just not getting it.
moreOpen Question: What are some safe, fun, free virtual pet-shop-owning games? NO DOWNLOAD PLEASE?
Hi everyone:
Yes, I do know I sound weird. WHO CARES?! Every teenaged girl needs at least a little bit of kiddy stuff in their life.
I don't mean just virtual pets, I mean virtual pet shop owning. Like owning a customizable pet shop. No, please do not say LPSO (Littlest Pet Shop Online), because I have already tried that and GUESS WHAT, it's one of the boringest (not words) games in the world.
Got any? Thanks! I can also share them with my lil cousin, she loves, loves, LOVES the concept of owning and caring for the pets in a pet shop.
Also, read the title! I like little or no ads, low or no-cost, and un-boringish games. I know some games that are like that, but they either require the purchase of a toy and a code or a download. Please, no codes, or downloads! And also, no games that have to be connected to Facebook or social networking. It's fine if they can but you don't have to, but there's a difference between the two.
Thanks for your input! I really appreciate your help!
moreOpen Question: Halo: Reach Limited or Legendary Edition?
I plan on pre ordering Halo :Reach. I would like to get exclusive things with the game too, but I don't know whether to get the Limited or the Legendary edition. Everything for the legendary edition is the same as the limited edition except that the legendary edition comes with a mini-statue toy and exclusive in-game effect. The in-game effect is really all I care about, but is it worth spending the extra bucks for that? Bungie doesn't even denote what the special effect is, so it's a hard decision.

moreOpen Question: Please help my puppy?
I have a very energetic 10 month old Boykin Spaniel. All he wants to do is play outside. Below is the schedule he normally follows, please fill in activities in the blank spots. It seems like he never runs out of energy. Please don't tell me that we don't have enough time for him. We give a lot of our time and attention. He goes out a lot to go to the bathroom so don't add anymore time for bathroom breaks. I need some tiring activities besides fetch. Me and my mom are the only ones who really take care of him. I am the only one who walks him. Also if there are things on the schedule that you can replace with more tiring activities that would be good. And if you can think of something for him to do while I do my homework that would be good. We have a fenced in backyard so he can go out there some of the times when I can't play with him. I know he should get more exercise in the morning, but we have to get up at 6:30 to get ready and leave at 7:30. I am going to try to get up at 6:00 and walk him though.
6:00 - wakes up
6:00-7:30 - goes to the bathroom; eats breakfast; naps
7:30 - me and my brother go to school (mom and dad are still home)
7:30-8:00 - plays with parents; goes to the bathroom
8:00 - parents leave for work/ puppy stays in kitchen
8:00-11:00 - sleeps in his bed in the kitchen/ plays with toys (home alone)
11:00-11:30 - (dad comes home); goes to bathroom; plays outside
11:30-1:00 - (dad leaves); sleeps in bed in kitchen (home alone)
1:00-2:15 - (mom comes home) goes to bathroom; plays tiring game of fetch (outside); goes to the park; plays with mom
2:15-3:15 - sleeps in kitchen (home alone)
3:15 - me and my brother get home
3:15-3:25 - greets us; goes to the bathroom
3:25-3:45 - plays fetch outside
3:45-4:15 - rests while i do my homework
4:15-4:40 - blank_______
4:40-5:00 - rests while I do homework
5:00-5:20 - plays fetch outside
5:20-6:00 - rests while I do homework
6:00-7:00 - parents come home; greets parents; long walk to the park
7:00-8:00 - blank ________
8:00-10:00 - plays inside with family; goes to the bathroom; lays on the couch, etc.
10:00 - goes to bed in crateHe knows a lot of commands. During the course of the day he practices them a few minutes at a time. So time for training would be good too.

moreOpen Question: 90's computer game played in school?
I remember playing this game on the computer for the kids I used to babysit, so it had to be between 94-98.
In the intro, you play a carnival type game...I think it's one of those "knock the milk bottles down" games. You win, and then the guy gives you what I THINK was a good luck troll type toy. When you take the toy from him, you are suddenly transported to a strange place and must go about solving a series of puzzles and brain teasers.
Can't remember the name, can't remember the maker. It's really bugging me!!!
moreOpen Question: I'm thinking about getting a ferret but I have some questions?
I'm thinking about getting a ferret, but what would I do with them if I'm gone? I'm not gone a lot but sometimes I go camping with my family. Are their certain kennels that will take ferrets for a few days? I don't think I could get anyone to babysit them except possibly my friend who lives across the street but I don't want to bother anyone with coming over and playing with it for 2-4 hours.
Is it better to get one or two? I only wanted one because I figured it would be easier to take care of just one but I heard they get lonely and need a companion.
What is the difference between male and female? I heard females are more hyper and males are more mellow but I'm not sure...I'm not breeding them so they'll be fixed. Is it bad to put two males together?
What games do they play and what do they play with? This is the one thing that concerns me. I read that you have to replace their toys every few days or they'll get bored. I'm only fourteen and I don't know if I'll be able to run to the store every day to get a new toy. That's the one thing I'm REALLY thinking hard on. I know ferrets are extremely playful and I don't know how much I would be willing to play with it. I know I'd play with it at first but later on, what if I get bored?
How much do they cost and where can you get them? I read the cages cost about $200 minimum but how much do the ferrets themselves cost? I think you can get them at the pet store but I heard that it was bad to get pets from there so I'm confused on that one?? Is it better to get them when they're young or what? Also, are there places you can go (I'm in MI) where you can play with a ferret(s) for a little while to see how you like it?
How do you "ferret-proof" a room? Is it putting away any small toys or things they could choke on or just things they could hide? I'm pretty sure I would figure it out in a few days anyway but I want to know beforehand.
How long does it take a ferret to warm up to you when you first get it? Will it bite when you first get it too? I'm kind of scared to get bit because I heard they bite really hard but you can train them not to.
I'm just trying to do my research so please answer these questions the best you can. I know ferrets are hard work and a big commitment so I'll need to know everything before getting one. Any other extra information would be helpful too.[:
moreOpen Question: I have found a website that gives you credits for Habbo Hotel and other games!?
I have been on this website a few days now and finally have got a Habbo hotel gift voucher for 50c! I'm not saving up for 1 month Club penguin membership. Its quite a well known site link it at the bottom but i recommend you read first.
The idea is that you sign up and complete offers (i hated this idea but i was desperate!) until you get enough points. Then go to the prize shop and click what prize you want to redeem (habbo coins, membership etc) and click redeem then they send you the gift card for what you ordered! So i got my habbo gift card with the credit code on it! The best thing is you don't have to spend the points on that site, you save up enough there is a link that allows you to buy things off of ebay and amazon to with your points (haven't tried this yet). Also not just online games, you can use your points for console accessories, games, toys and stuff. Signing up to LoveMovies.com for a 14 day free trial gave me 5 points so i'm 2 away from getting 1 month membership.
Heres the link to the website, just follow it then click sign up from that page! xxx

I don't care whether they win or loose. Just want them to have fun and grow individualy and as a team. However, it isn't fun to get blown out by the other team. I have 6 kids for 3vs3 and have to rotate them every 3 minutes six times per half. I have one of the best kids in the league. 3 kids are new to soccer but are getting it and will be fine. Two kids, one with ADHD who does not get it at all is struggling, the other kid has clearly played with toys in his room for the last 6 years and is a walking 6y/o atrophy who can barely run and has no clue what he is in for when games start. Those two kids could get us killed. How should I do this line up...such as a very strong 3 to start and the weakest to follow, or put two strong kids with one weak one on both rotations? moreOpen Question: What would be a good concluding statement for my history essay?
My essay is about the three North American Colonies and I describe the differences between the three colonies in religion, education and leisure.
I don't really like my introductory Statement but it is: "English settlers established three colonies in North America. They can be alike and different."
Would I have to change that statement to get a good Concluding statement? What should I change it to?
I need help!!! Thanks! :)
******If you actually want to read the essay, thats it:
English settlers established three colonies in North America. They can be
alike and different.
All three colonies were very religious. It was an important part. Children
grew up reading the bible. Especially in New England, Religion was very strict.
People had to go to church every day, and everybody had to go. If you did not go
to church, you would have to go to jail. The only excuse not to go was illness.
The Services could last for up to five hours. The Southern colonies had religious
freedom, which means that you could worship whatever you wanted to. The
Middle Colonies had religious freedom too, but a lot of people were Quakers. In
the 1730s, the Great Awakening swept through the colonies. It was spurred by
the feeling that people had lost their faith. The Great Awakening had a powerful
effect on the colonies, it made people believe that everybody is equal in Gods
eyes. The colonies got an open heart and desire to know Gods truth.
Education was very different in each of the colonies. In the Middle colonies
religious differences between the Quakers, Catholics, Jews, Baptists, and other
groups slowed down the growth of public schools. Every religious group
had to decide for itself how to educate the children. Some built church schools
and other decided to have parents teach their children at home. In the Southern
colonies, wealthy people hired a tutor for their younger children and sent the
older ones to distant cities, to complete their education there. The other people
would get together and hire a teacher for a small group of children. Only in New
England, towns had to have public schools. That was just because of religious
faith. The Puritans wanted their children to be able to read the bible. Schools
would just be one room with a chimney and a fireplace. There would usually be
just one book to teach the alphabet, syllables and prayers.
All three colonies had lots of work and not a lot of free time. Workers
would combine work with play by organizing bees and frolics. They had “chopping
bees” for example. If new settlers came they had to clear their land from all the
trees and other people helped so it would be more fun. The children had some
simple toys, such as dolls, marbles, and tops. They also enjoyed playing tag,
blindman’s bluff, coasting down snowy hills and the game stoolball, which was
like the English game of cricket. Adults played bowling green and a game like
backgammon called tick tack, or the game of pool. Especially fox hunting, horse
racing, cockfighting, and bull baiting were popular sports. Card playing was very
popular in the New England Colonies. Most of the leisure activities were the same
in all three colonies.

I was recently reminiscing about 2nd grade (Oregon trail computer game) and I remembered my favorite toy...Kitten Surprise. It was a cat that had like a velcro C-Section and you would pull out the kittens. Kind of twisted when I look back on it.
Did anyone else have this toy...and I wonder if they are still around?
moreOpen Question: Feeling very low right now and could use unbiased advice.?
My husband and I have been married for 5 years, he's 26 and I'm 23. We have a 3 year old daughter together and a 2 year old son together and he has a 2 year old daughter. Back in 07 we split up for 4 months because we were having a lot of problems and were constantly getting angry with each other and sometimes things got physical between us. He went to the cops and totally exaggerated what went on and completey left out the fact that he was also physical towards me and I was arrested and spent 4 days in jail and another 3 months without my daughter even though I had been proven innocent in a court. I took my husband back after 4 months and by this point he had already got another girl pregnant, and just after we got back together I got pregnant with our son. Since we got back together it doesn't seem like he loves me like he used to and I'm constantly depressed. Lately he's been hurting our daughter's feelings and when I bring it to his attention that he's done so he just brushes it off and even said once that he doesn't care. He also frequently hurts my feelings and is constantly putting other things such as work, video games, and television before me and the kids. I love my husband very much but I'm beginning to feel like I'd have an easier time with the kids and be happier if we weren't together. I'm not saying I'm perfect, I've certainly said some hurtful things when I've been angry with him for seemingly ignoring the kids and I, but I realize what I've said after I've said it and immediately apologize and tell him, I'm sorry but I get angry with you because it seems like you just don't want to pay attention to your wife and kids. He also will not help me discipline and then when the kids misbehave he blames it on me and tells me that I'm a bad mom. Also, when I get mad at him he frequently threatens to have me arrested again. What should I do? How can I make him understand that I do in fact want to be with him, but I'm not sure how much longer I can deal with being a walking sex toy. Really, that's just about the only attention I get, and it has to be on his terms. I'm at my wits end here, and I don't want my family to be a broken one. Oh, one more thing, if I say that I'm not happy and I've considered leaving, he says that if I leave he'll just kill himself. How do I deal with this, he used to be such a different person, loving, caring, always there whenever I needed him and now when I'm upset or need help with the kids he just tells me to grow up and stop being childish, and he even pulled that one about a week after my grandmother died, the song that played at her funeral came on the radio and I started to cry and he told me to "grow up and get over it you childish b****." Definitely need some advice because all my family will say is "well, you married him, deal with it." And that really doesn't help me. I've suggested counseling and at that point he just flips out saying how it's obvious I want a divorce and counseling is BS and if I did leave him I'll never find anyone else because no man will put up with my need for affection. Also, I'm not sure if this info helps, but he has a horrible memory and uses that as an excuse as to why he treats us the way he does, and he claims he's "trying" and that trying should be enough but I see no evidence at all of his "trying". It's actually getting worse.John Johnson -- I didn't mention it, but I've been in counseling by myself for the last 4 years and made major strides on changing myself. I don't get angry so easy anymore, and I deal with him a little better. Sure I may still be extremely angry and still say something hurtful but I SAY it, I don't yell or scream or anything of the sort. And I do everything I can do to make him happy, even if it means doing something that I'm not exactly comfortable with if you catch my drift here.
moreOpen Question: My brothers the 'favourite'?
So i'm 14 and my brothers 9 and because he's younger hes always had more attention. But the other day my dad said to my brother :'are you coming to work with daddy?' and my brother said: 'no i'm going shopping with mum' so i said to my dad:'can i come with you' and he said no.
My brothers had a few language problems and needs to go to english classes outside of school, his grades have been slipping so they tell him to pull his socks up. But when my grades slip, or even if im doing great at school he's like :'Come on jess, your getting older, you need to be more responsible and consentrate instead of going out with your furry friends'. I feel like I can't please him.
It was a sunny day once and he told me to go out to the park with some friends, i told him I couldn't because I had lots of homework: and he wasn't very happy. Then the other day I was out at the park with some friends and when i got home he said :'Where have you been!?' so i told him i had been at the park and he said :'why on earth would you want to do that for?' again, i felt like I wasn't good enough for him.
My brother gets about £10 a week to spend on toys and sweets, and I get twenty every time i go into town with friends which is roughly every 2-3 weeks. My brother broke a nintendo DS a few weeks ago by loosing his temper and snapping it, my dad went straight out and bought him a better one, he gets new games for it, he has had 4 nintendo's, a playstation 2, a playstation 3, a go kart, 2 guinea pigs and a mini laptop. I asked my dad if i could have an extra £20 in the holidays because me and some friends were going to a theme park and he went in a mard and told me to save up.
Every time I talk to my dad about it he says :'your being silly' or 'your tired go to bed'
Help!?My mums sorta the same, but she seems to notice me more, im defoo closer to my mum than my dad.

moreResolved Question: What to do when other people's children don't play nice....?!?
So my husband is from a large, close family. There are always many children at family get togethers. My son has just barely reached the age in which he is starting to socialize (he's 16 months old). Now, most of the kids in the family aren't a problem. They try to play and interact with him or entertain him. But there's one family who doesnt really watch and/or discipline their children. Unfortunately, these children are the closest in age with my son and the ones who he plays with the most. I don't have a lot of experience with children (this is my first) and I'm an "in law" in the family, so there is a bit of awkwardness there.
Now, I'll always be fair ,and when my son is older, I'm not the type to think he should be entitled to toys or never does wrong. But just to give an example, two of these said children were playing ball with my son. The older one is about 5, the younger one 2. The 5 year old kept hitting the ball (hard!) out of my sons hands when he had it. She also didn't have any patience (which I understand is limited with a 5 year old) for him to give it back to her and would steal it away from him right away. The younger one was exhibiting similar behavior and saying "MINE!" and taking things away. The younger was a little easier to deal with. I gave her and my son simple commands to encourage back and forth sharing of the toys and tried to make a "game" of putting some dominos away- but with limited success. I didn't even bother with the 5 year old because I've seen her in action before and didn't want the drama. She's kind of a brat. Even once while she was hitting the ball out of my sons hand, she hurt herself in the process and went running to her grandmother to tattle on my son who was just sitting there. Then later she was fighting with another kid over another toy. The father of these children does discipline, but only deals with the kids when he wants (which is pretty much never!) and the mom doesn't pay attention or doesn't follow through with her discipline.
I just don't know what I should do in these types of situation. Is it okay to say things like "Don't hit the ball out of his hands- wait until for him to throw it to you"? Or is that trying to parent someone else's kids and are the parents going to get mad? I even told the mom when the her kid was fighting with the other kid over the one toy and she just pretty much said "yeah, that's what happens...they always fight". I think my biggest fear is a confrontation with the parents. I'm always afraid the parents are going to think I was being unfair to their kid and favoring mine.
Advice please!I realize there are always going to be times when children exhibit this behavior (even my son). But i've been in the family long enough to know this is consistent behavior with these children. Not some isolated event.
moreVoting Question: Writers: What are some hilariously stupid, outrageously cute kiddy stories you wrote when you were little?
I think I've asked this question before, but this is what I wrote, when I was in 3rd grade. I was so proud of it, it inspired me to write actual real stories. Now I look back on it and realize what a big imagination I really had back then ;] (READ: you don't have to read the bottom part, just if you want a good laugh) :
Christmas Eve
It was the day before Christmas Eve and Jimmy, Suzy, Sally, Billy and Mandy were outside in the snow. Suzy and Sally were building a snowman. Jimmy and Billy were having snowball fights, and Mandy was sledding. They were at the Rocky Mountain Park. The best Ski Resort in the state. There was everything there. From hot tubs and rooms to juice bars and lounge chairs. There were also fire places, room service, cocoa, snack bars, t.v., blankets, ski rents, ski lifts, and Christmas parties. They got room number 1183. It had king sized beds and cable hookup. Also free mints... mmm... lounge chairs, and they were having a party for Suzy, so free ski rentals!
After a couple hours they all came in and sat in the lounge chairs and sipped hot cocoa. It was 5:30 PM. They threw the hot dogs on the grill and opened the salad bars, put more cocoa on the table and got ready to eat. Suzy's mom came and got them to eat. There was a table with balloons just waiting for them. Suzy was in line first, Jimmy second, Billy third, Mandy fourth, Sally fifth and Suzy's brother last. Suzy picked pickles, salad, a hot dog with ketchup, chips and carrots. She went over to the table and started to eat. Jimmy picked just a salad. (He wasn't that hungry). He ran over to the table and sat down, starting to eat. Billy was full, (he drank too much cocoa). Many had just some chips, and Sally had one of everything. They all sang happy birthday, cut the cake and started to sing. Just then, Billy burped really loud!
"Nice!" said Jimmy,
"Thanks," said Billy.
Everyone came to the table, "Almost time to open presents!" Suzy's mom said. Suzy opened Sally's presents first,
"Oh, the new talking Polly doll!" Suzy said.
"What do you say?" her mother said.
"Thank you!" Suzy said to Sally. Then Suzy got Mandy's gift... it was a... a... kitten! A real live kitten! "Can we keep him mom?"
"Yes, of course honey,"
"Come Bingo, we have more presents to open," Meow, meow, the cat said, "Let's open Billy's present now!" Suzy said, "Oh, it's a pair of... socks..."
"Not Just socks, put your hand inside... now press." the socks sang, you are my best friend!
"They are sock puppets, wow! Thanks!" said Suzy. Last but not least, Jimmy's present. It was everything for her kitten/ Kitten toys, a litter box, a little kitten collar and leash, kitten toys, and a little kitten video game, too! Suzy got lots of cool gifts! Now they thought they might go for a swim... but oh no! Suzy forgot her bathing suit! Suzy's mother got out another present.
"What?" said Suzy and tore off the wrapper. It was a.... new bathing suit! She put it on, it said cool chick on it, it had a pikture of a chick with sunglasses on. She dove in the pool. Splash, splash! Everyone dove in! They all wore goggles. They all dove under. They looked at each other. They all held hands and went up. Her mother said, "Say cheese!" They all came out. The kitten got splashed. He shook off, getting Suzy wet,
"Silly kitten!" Suzy giggled, "Hahaha!" She took Bingo back to room 1183. She set him in his basket that said: BINGO. She was playing her kitten video game.
You could go to the pet store, buy a kitten, pick if you wanted it to have spots, what color collar, leash/leash/dish/food/water/toys/paws/fur/bed. She made a grey kitten with pink paws and a pink nose. Suzy's mom said it was time to go to bed now. Suzy shut off the video game and turned out the light...
****there's more, and I'll put it down if people want :P I just think it's funny and my sister read it the other day, and won't get off my back for it now. So people, what did you write when you were a kid?lmao thanks. There was a time when you became obcessed with fire and power?? wow, you were an evil child xD I was obcessed with princesses and fairies until like... last year haha not lying! And I'm now almost 14, pretty sad, huh?
moreVoting Question: Stand by your man? Or Stand on your own decision?
My mother in law is very (hmmm…what’s the word I’m looking for here…)…INSANE and selfish as well. All of my in-laws have something very wrong with them. I don’t know if it’s because they choose to live out in the boonies away from others or if it’s just safer for the public to live away from them. My husband is great. He’s 40 and is a great father to our 2 beautiful daughters (we have a 2 year old and a 6 month old). It’s his family that seems to be the center of our fights because I had grandparents that resembled his family to a “T” and remember the hurt they caused me. They played favorites and when we (my brother and I) came over; they would make fun of us or make some joke out of us and spoil the other grandchildren as if they were royalty.
My husband’s family is exactly the same in that manner. My husband is the product of a previously failed marriage and his two “brothers” are from his mother’s current marriage (one is 35 and the other is 30). Both of my brother-in-laws have 3 children each and my husband’s mother and stepfather dote over them constantly but never put any effort towards my children. We live an hour away and they never take the time to come see our kids but if they do…it’s always a very short visit. I once let my 2 year old stay a week with them, now she is terrified of them when she sees them. She is very friendly and outgoing so it blows my mind to see her so petrified of these people. Apparently, they did something to her to make her upset.
In the past few weeks, things have gone from weird to just plain insane. My mother-in-law is 59 years old and decided it was time to get a nose ring. I can understand going through a midlife crisis and buying a Corvette, but a nose ring? This woman has gray hair and is not an attractive woman in the first place…a nose ring did not bring any more beauty to her than a thong would to a 400 pound naked woman. For me, that was the last straw. I have witnessed her sons giving beer to their toddlers, making their 4 year olds grab them a beer from the fridge and then smoke around their kids and wonder why they have asthma and earaches. I’ve just had it. I refuse to go over there and I refuse to let my children be belittled by these backwoods Hillbillies anymore.
I want to raise my girls to be strong and get respect from others but my husband sees it as I don’t want my kids to have anything to do with his family. That is not true. I’ve told my husband they are welcome to come see the girls but until I see effort put on their part, we will not go to their house by no means. They need to realize they have other grandchildren other than the ones they put so much effort into.
My children do not know their grandparents because they have yet to put in the time to see them and get to know my girls but I want the respect around my kids they deserve. I don’t want words that would scare off a sailor used around my small children or screaming at one another being a norm for my girls. His family is pretty upset with me over the situation but has yet to ask me my reasons. They have a lot of opinions but will not communicate them to me. I’d happily inform them of my reasons. In other words, they are a lot of talk but never to my face. What would you do in my situation? Would you take your kids to a place where they see other grandchildren getting toys, games, etc. and them getting nothing? Or where the others are getting treated as royalty and my kids getting treated as the town jesters? I stand by my decision and my husband doesn’t want to talk about it but likes to argue with me when I say I will not (nor will my girls) go over there. This is taxing on our marriage and I want my girls to see that we (me and my hubby) are in this together.I don't think it's me that needs the help...those people are just plain nuts. They don't live by the rules of normal people. They scream at people in drive-thru windows who don't say "Thank You" to them. It's like they are the ones that rule the Earth and we should bow down to them. My father in law believes that women are not smarter than men (or could ever be), so it irritates the crap out of him that I have a master's degree and am the most educated out of the family (including his sons). At the time I met his family, they lived far away but are closer now. My husband and I unfortunately did the "whirlwind" dating and married after a short 5 months of dating. Luckily, he turned out to be an awesome guy. I think he turned out great because he was homeless at 19. His family literally packed up and left California (where he is from) without giving one thought of to where he was going to live. He was in college at the time they left. He was homeless for 2 years and got his life together and became a programmer. He does have an awesome story but it had to be because he had a crap family.

moreResolved Question: Is this a normal thing for a psychiatrist to do?
my parents got divorced like 11 years ago then a year later I was taken to a psychiatrist. I don't even know why really I remember adult conversations that went on and I think that because I would beg for like toys and stuff they thought I had OCD (like my dad)... but if I did/do have it its not like I walk around counting and making sure things are even and stuff like that.. I don't know but when I asked my mom a few months ago why I had to go she said because my dad thought I was so messed up from the divorce, which she even admits that I never really was she always said I handled it well. But anyway I was taken to a psychiatrist and I'm very stubborn and I was annoyed that I was there because #1 I hate doctors (like most people lol) #2 I was invited over my friends house that day but obvioslt couldn't go and #3 NO ONE WOULD EVER EXPLAIN TO ME WHY I WAS THERE!! (as I said I still do not really know). so like I said Im very stubborn and I refused to cooperate. The guy would ask me a question and say if I answered I'd get a prize...but I never answered so I didn't get any prizes.... I think I even said to him once something like why would I want a stupid cheap toy like that that will break tomorrow anyway lol :) So then he'd ask me to play games and stuff and I refused to when I refused he would get up and grab me by the arms and drag me back to his chair where he would sit and hold my arms behind me while I struggled to get free (obviously I never could because I was a 7 year old girl). He said when I listened to him and stopped screaming and struggling I would be let free...as I said I'm stubborn so I didn't listen when I just screamed louder and struggled harder he would force my mom to leave the room (this just made me scream even louder) This would go on until the session was over and we could leave. This happened basically everytime we went there because I never want to do what he said. I remember one time I managed to get away from his grip and started to crawl away and he pulled me back and I got like rugburn on my face. He also told my mom to do this to me when I didn't listen to her but after I got the rugburn on my face we stopped going there because she realized he was only hurting not helping me.
so my question is has anyone else ever been to a psychiatrist who did this?

Like the other day when the 15 yr old wanted me to go swimming with her my other sister wanted me to play with her. Or when we play a game like volleyball they always get into a huge fight over me because they both want me on their team! Or if we are at the mall one sister wants me to go with her and the other one wants me with her in another store. They literally play tug a war over me whenever they both want me at the same time in opposite directions they both grab me by the hands and pull me in opposite ways using my arms like they are a tug a war rope!!!!!!!! This is how they always fight over me they call it human tug a war my poor arms get pulled on a lot threw the day!!! My mom thinks it is soooo CUTE!!! I really enjoy this too oddly enough LOL!!!!!!!!!! It really feels good and a lot of times they play tug a war over me for fun!!!!!!!! I feel like a pull toy LOL!!!!!!! moreVoting Question: Working at toys r us?
I am almost 17. I don't know if i should apply there. I am not shy, well people assume i am but sometimes i am just quiet. I have done concessions(ordering and then giving them the food) at a place near me that displays christmas lights, so i have had some experience with customer service.
This would be my first job, i don't think i would do too well in the group interview, i hate speaking in front of people. It makes me nervous, plus the nervousness about it being a job interview.
Should i apply tomorrow(or today) or wait until thanksgiving?
also what should i wear to interview?
I think it would be easy to talk to people and tell them where to go(for some reason people usually ask me where stuff is at other stores)
also what are your hours usually? like 5 hours a day, 5 days a week?
basically tell me anything you can, and any tips for the interview. If I get to pick a toy i was going to pick a cranium board game(or something that has batteries) and say its fun, everyone can play, if someone isn't good at one mini game, there are plenty of others to be good at. Then end it saying if this is not what you had in mind we have a big selection to find something that is suits your needs better.
if this makes since, thanks :)
