I would like to know what is a good piece to learn, but i do not like to play music like Mozart or Bach etc... I like to learn songs by Yiruma, Jim Brickman, and others like that. But, NOT songs with words, like NO Alicia Keys, etc... (P.S. If you leave a suggestion, I have already learned "River flows in your" by Yiruma and "Rocket to the Moon" by Jim Brickman. and I am learning "Kiss the Rain" by Yiruma also. Resolved Question: Good songs with female vocalist & piano?

I would like to know some songs that have a female vocalist with a piano as the lead instrument. You could tell me artists that play their own piano (e.g. Vanessa Carlton, Alicia Keys, etc.) or a track off of an artist's CD that uses piano. Some of the ones I've found that I like are: "Hurt" --Christina Aguilera "Beauty from Pain" --Superchick "My Immortal" and "Hello" --Evanescence The reason for this is because I enjoy practicing piano but am not at a stage where I can play complicated pieces . . . it's kind of like an inspiration to hear a song I like use piano. Also, I DO like country, but a song with more than 1-2 references to religion is a no-go.And by "upbeat" I mean the tempo. The song does not have to be about how much she loves flowers and chipmunks. This is a response to the "In Your Opinion, Does R&B Need to be Saved" post. Some people on here are so misguided until it's SILLY. To even PRAISE Chris Brown and R. Kelly in the same class as a legend like Michael Jackson is foolish! I'm a genius when it comes to understanding the mechanics and commercialism of the business, so this is a repost of my response, which EVERYBODY needs to fully and THOROUGHLY read! MICHAEL JACKSON NEVER DID ANYTHING WRONG! THOSE ARE/WERE RUMORS THAT THE MEDIA PUT OUT TO BRAINWASH PEOPLE LIKE SOME OF YOU ALL! IT'S NOT ABOUT POPULAR R&B ARTISTS BEING TREATED/MISTREATED UNFAIRLY...IT'S ABOUT TALENT! ANY blind and/or deaf person knows that MJ has talent that R. Kelly and Chris can't even dream of, vocally, artistically, dancing, AND songwriting wise.....so that already dismisses both Brown and Kelly! BOTH R. Kelly and Chris Brown DID do wrong, and are FAR LESS TALENTED than MJ musically and artistically (and Chris Brown's dancing skills are NOT the only thing that should make him a GOOD ARTIST, since his vocals are atrocious). R&B DESPERATELY needs to be saved! Chris Brown, Rihanna, T-Pain, Trey Songz, Bobby Valentino, Ciara...THESE ARTISTS are HORRIBLE. There's NO artistry..NO creativity...NO TALENT with these pieces of crap. The 90s wasn't much better either. With the exception of vocal gifts like En Vogue, Boys II Men, and maybe to a small extent, Jodeci........I mean, can ANYBODY sit there and really say that WHINING groups like Xscape, Total, Blackstreet, 112, SWV, Kut Klose, Silk, etc. sounded better than the Pointer Sisters, Mary Jane Girls, Earth, Wind, & Fire, Atlantic Star, Sister Sledge, the Emotions, Levert, etc.? If you think so, then you need you're head and ears examined TODAY! R&B went from a place of dignity..with Peabo Bryson, Regina Belle, and Anita Baker ruling the radio...to a place of crunk-dependent DESPAIR, with Rap-APPEALED-pop-R&B ACTS like Ciara, Chris Brown, Keyshia Cole, etc....NONE of these artists can even SING. Even Alicia Keys..she's probably one of the BETTER ones out today, but still, compare her vocals and piano skills to that of Roberta Flack's? NO comparison. Heck, Alicia screams anyways to save face. The Neo Soul artists are the ONLY ones keeping the ESSENCE of R&B alive to the fullest, WITHOUT radio, video, and mass support! The MAIN problem with radio-played R&B is its SICKENING DEPENDENCE on RAP MUSIC! I don't want to ALWAYS hear rap/hip-hop BEATS on an R&B song! THERE'S A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RAP/HIP-HOP AND R&B...A CONCEPT THAT MOST PEOPLE SEEM TO NOT UNDERSTAND OR AVOID WANTING TO UNDERSTAND! People are so quick to ALWAYS link R&B and rap as close as possible, to the point where R&B has lost its identity...all for fear of being viewed as "anti-rap". There's NOTHING "anti-rap" about a genre being it's own self...with its own distinct sound(s)..WITHOUT having to ALWAYS appeal to the hip hop crowd! Let rap/hip-hop have its own sound and identity..today's R&B artists need to FOCUS on being R&B ARTISTS. NOT HIP HOP FRIENDLY URBAN ARTISTS! See my point? It's nothing wrong with being like that, but now, it's an influx of them in the business to the point where it's well past over-saturation! Even in the 80s, when R&B became more synth and electro-dependent, it was a DIVERSE GENRE that had SO MANY types of artists seeing success...the quiet-storm/love-based soul singers...the synth-funk based R&B stars..the new jack swing/hip-hop based..the pop-R&B-dance stars...the R&B power balladeers/vocalists...the instrumental/jazz-based R&B artists.....the FUNK MUSIC bands.....etc.! Nowadays, it's either rap-beat-saturated R&B or UNDERPLAYED Neo Soul-based R&B?! Does R&B need to be saved? Like an infant drowning in the Atlantic Ocean! more

Okay, i am a fairly good piano player... i have been playing 6 years. i play mostly classical music, but i will play Alicia Keys because it is very technical. Anyway, one of my friends wants to do a Piano Duet (1 piano) with me. Shes not a horrible player but not great. I want to find something that will challenge her, but still make it enjoyable. Resolved Question: how to read piano music sheet with 2 treble cleffs and 1 bass cleff?

I'm starting to learn how to play some music pieces and came upon a sheet music for a song I like (for example: Alicia Keys "No One") it has 2 treble clefs and 1 bass clef. I know in classical music you have the grand staff (treble and bass) linked by "{ " but this music sheet has the grand staff with a treble clef on top. How do I play the music then?
