moreVoting Question: chicago town pizzas, are they frozen?
I bought a chicago town pizza in my local supermarket. I brought it straight home, 10min drive. Opened straight away and popped in the oven. I noticed it was all floppy, and not frozen hard. Is it meant to be that way??
Frozen means frozen solid, doesnt it? This was very cold but not frozen solid. I assumed it was meant to be this way because Superquinn(the shop), are very high quality and aren't like Tesco or any of those. But then today I put it in the Freezer and took it out later, it was solid. Is somebody doing something wrong here, or is it just me?Im not worried or anything, cause there is no meat in it, But I wouldn't mind getting something out of this. If somebody is breaking health and safety, I see alot of free pizza coming my way

moreResolved Question: How tesco credit card works?
Hi all,
I recently moved into UK for work, and I would like to apply for a Tesco Credit Card, because I need to buy about £5000 furniture and appliances for the house I live in.
I'm interested to repay a small amount per month, that's what the Tesco Credit Card allow to do. However I'm a bit confused about the summary box at
http://www.tescofinance.com/personal/finance/finance/creditcards/clubcc/summary-box.jsp
I hope someone of you can better explain the following:
a) How can I specify the length of my debit, and to who should I tell this? To the seller or is it something I choose via an on line panel or something?
b) On the APR table, I would expect the introductory rate is the one I'll pay accordingly to the period specified, after that I will start paying the monthly rate. Is this correct?
c) Can I buy everywhere, or the card is bound to Tesco and shopping to their mall only?
Many thanks
Giuseppe
moreResolved Question: My husband decide to leave with us, should i stay or go?
my husband and i have been married for 13 years when i was 18 and he was 31. All the time he looks lazy and doesn't make me love. we had an sex just five times that i got two children. First one is 9 year old disable child and second one is 4 year old. Many years i lived at my mothers home. When i got my second one we're living separate room in our council flat. Last 2 years, he has stopped to give money for me as i'm getting disability living allowance, child benefit, child tax credit and carer allowance.
My (benefit) income monthly - 1000 and i spend 800-1000 in every month because i could manage my whole house financial problem (including my children needs). sometime i use my credit card.
He is working part time at tesco and he is also working his fiend grocery shop. His income - 1400 and he spends 500 in every month and 3 months only - 135 (telephone bill and broadband)
we are fighting everyday but he doesn't care about anything. Yesterday, he said he would like to leave with us. that means, he write and sign his decision (he won't live with us) but I want a legal divorce. why he can't do that?
Anyone can give some ideas about council procedure because he has paid rent and council tax and he has had a tenancy agreement in his name. I would like to stay at my current house. I can't move any other place and really i can't manage with my children. Do i get any problem with this?
please give some positive ideas.
Thanks :-)
moreResolved Question: What do you think of this joke?
Betty and Sharon are two cashiers in Tesco. Sharon says to Betty "I can tell you which men are married and which men are single." Betty says to Sharon "Are you sure?" Sharon says "Positive Betty. Oooh looks, here comes a man"
The man starts putting his shopping on the conveyor belt. He bought: One potato, one tomato, one chocolate bar, one magazine and one pizza. After he has put all his shopping in his bags, Sharon says to him "Excuse me Sir, do you mind if I ask you a personal qiestion?" The man says "Sure"
Sharon says "You're single aren't you?" He says "Yes, I am" Betty says "Jheeze Sharon, that's amazing. How did you know?" The man says "I know how she knew. It's because I bought one of everything." Sharon says to the man "No, Sir, it's because you're a right fucking ugly bastard"
moreResolved Question: Tesco dress at a Wedding?
Have a family wedding in a few weeks time. Finding it difficult to find a nice dress, tried all of the usual places, i.e Monsoon, Debenhams but cant find any I like. A couple of days ago I bought a beautiful shift type dress out of Tescos for £16 pound to wear for a night out. I have now came to the idea of keeping it for the wedding as I absolutely love it. I am just a little anxious about what people might say if they find out it is from Tesco. To be honest I would have bought this dress even if it was £100 in monsoon etc. my mum and friend keep telling me to wise up and wear it as who is going to know. Right enough it is a plain dress with no distinguishing features etc. I plan to glitz it all up with jewellery, sandals and a wrap/bolero. What I want to know is, is this dress ok for a wedding. It has the right style as an occasion dress and I know that I would definitely wear it again. I feel as though its not good enough and that I should be buying a more expensive dress just in case someone asks were I bought it and can say Debenhams etc.
I am not a clothes snob and will happily shop in new look, peacocks and tescos etc.
Advice please....

moreResolved Question: Is Tesco much cheaper than Sainsbury's?
The nearest Tesco to me is a fair distance and it's also in a dodgy area but it's open 24 hrs during the week and I know that Tesco has a reputation for being cheaper than Sainsbury's. The nearest Sainsbury's to me is only a mile down the road and is much easier to get to and is also in a nice area but it's only open until 9pm on weeknights. Do you think it's worth me doing my shopping at Tesco's? Are their products really cheaper/better value and is there much in it?
moreVoting Question: what does this mean?
I'm looking into Iphone contracts and when it gets the internet bit on the tesco site it says 1GB of Data, and Unlimited Wifi including BT Openzone. Then on the vodafone one it says 1GB of Data and 1GB of wifi and BT Openzone. So which is the best one to get? And what do these things mean??

moreResolved Question: Stocking Of Tesco Total Value range of products?
I regularly shop at your Congleton, Cheshire store. I am a diabetic and therefore have to be very careful when shopping to ensure I have both low fat and sugar in any foodstuffs I purchase wherever possible. I have for years had Cottage pie and Shepherds pie from the Tesco Total Value range. However these are no longer available in your Congleton store and have been replaced by your 'Light Choice' range. This title is a complete misnomer and contradiction. Both the sugar and fat content is far greater compared to the Total Value range and quite frankly you should not be selling these products with a title of 'Light Choice'.
Morrisons store sell a similar range to your Total Value products and I have lately been buying their products which also means I invariably do a large shop at the same time.
Would it not be possible for your Congleton branch to once more stock the Tesco Total Value range
moreVoting Question: Why do I feel left out? I feel like my family are against me?
I feel as if my family hate me and prefer my sister…
Okay so I’m currently living in a 2 bedroom flat with my sister who is 22 and my parents (I’m 17). My parents divorced when I was 9...My mum moved in to this flat just after they divorced while me and my sister stayed with our dad…
Now for the reason why I feel left out…The first part of my life I was difficult…I hardly ever went to school and was hard at home too…My sister did the same as me…When I was 9, I had a eating disorder and lost so much weight that I nearly died…I then stayed at my auntie’s at 4 months and my parents divorced..
When I returned, I went to school every day, and was a much easier child to look after…By the end of year 11, I received 7 A-C GCSE’s and was proud of myself…
I was badly bullied at school but still received the good results that I did. After summer I started college. I decided that the course wasn’t really my sort of thing, my friends moved on, I found it hard to find more friends, plus I was being bullied by the same people…
I decided to take a year off college…I then got a part time job in an Animal Sanctuary…They have told me that I can have a permanent job there (payed) but I have to do an animal care course before I do…Me and my dad are going to move out of this flat and move to a different county..I have already applied for an animal care course and have been accepted…
Now about my sister…
When I was 11, we had a social worker…Her name was Barbara…My sister was 15 at the time and In the second to last year of school… (This was when I was at a different school to her and doing well,.)
My sister was being badly bullied and refused to go to school…Barbara went to the school and they all decided that my sister could choose 2 lessons a day (out of 5) that she likes and she could go to those while taking the rest of the day off. She also got to choose the worst day and was allowed to stay at home and was sent work home to do…(While I was stuck with going to school EVERY day 9-3)
As well as all that, Barbara used to spoil my sister…She used to take her out to Tesco a couple of times a week to have a dinner there. She also used to take her out to the cinema often as well..
I used to be ignored by Barbara. She never used to take me out anywhere…
Plus we had a social worker because of my weight loss and school problems, it wasn’t really for my
sister…
When my sister was 16 and I was 12, she went to college while I had to move schools as I was too old for the other one…
This next bit is very long so I’ll just summarise the events..
1)My dad received a phone call from the college saying that she hadn’t been going for ages..
2)My sister had a lot of money but wasn’t working…We found out she had an account on Ebay where she used to advertise laptops, receive the money but there were no laptops…
3)She was arrested and given a caution..
4)We found out she had a boyfriend called Craig White…She said he had a twin brother..We only saw one at a time so we weren’t sure if it was him or a twin..
5)She was arrested again for the same thing and said that her boyfriend was involved..The police searched for him but his name wasn’t In the database…
6)She admitted to me that his name was Craig WRIGHT and not WHITE…
7)My sister, friend and dad were out shopping…They both argued and my sister told my dad that she was pregnant…She later admitted that she lied because she wanted attention..
8)She then used my dad’s name for things and got him in to debt…
9)Every time she did something like that he sent her to my mums..She got upset and angry that he made her stay there so he let her go back home..It happened many times, and each time her let her back, she did it again…
Sorry about how long that was…
As I said, we are all now living together in my mums flat..My sister is living here, not working and is on benefits…My parents and my sister get on really well..I try to get involved but I don’t really fit in…It’s really cramped with four of us In a 2 bedroom flat and I can’t cope..Most of the time they keep ignoring me…
When I told them about my job opportunity they didn’t congratulate me or anything…My sister was put on a 3 weeks course and they were so happy about it…They took her out for a meal to celebrate…
Every time I tell them how I feel, they get angry and say that we all have to live together and I have to put up with it…
Please could you give me some advice??Lol I have got a life..I just want advice..Nothing wrong with that is there?!!I had to quite my job because me and my dad are moving away soon...
Plus I'm going back to college in september...
I was going to move in with my friend but she's having a baby so I can't anymore..

since we want to wild camp all the way and carry all our own stuff (instead of using a bag carrying service) i am trying to find out where there are shops along the way so we can stock up on food each day instead of carrying a weeks worth. i have been searching the net the past 2 weeks and have found out where some hotels are for main meals but i cannot seem to find info on general shops. i understand there wont be any tesco's or big supermarkets but i need to find out where any shops are so we dont get stuck in the wilderness with no food! (preferably shops that sell alcohol!)
be great if somebody could help me with this....much appreciated :)obviously midges are out already you fool, hence the fact we are going in the first week of May, BEFORE midge season! im a regular camper so know the best times to go.

moreResolved Question: How can things possibly be this expensive in Canada?
Intriguing title, eh?
Well, basically I'm a British student in Montréal in Canada to improve my French, and am slowly discovering that things are ridiculously expensive over here compared to back home.
For Example:
I just went to a supermarket called IGA here in Montreal- I bought:
Sliced Swiss Cheese
A Small Loaf of Wholemeal Bread
A normal tube of Pringles.
This totalled C$11.50- which is about £7.50- after looking on tesco.com, It would have cost £2.98 back home, less than half the price!!
So, my question is, why is this so? Have I just unfortunately stumbled across some downright extortionate shops? Weak currency?
I am seriously confused by this- and would appreciate a good answer!
ThanksOui, j'ai compris :)
Another example though- a popcorn chicken snackbox at kfc/pfk is c$3.22 (inc. tax) in canada, which is £2.06, and it is £1.99 in the uk- almost the same! How come supermarkets are so different?Yes, it was downtown- the one in complexe desjardins, i should have anticipated much higher prices! Sorry if i've made it look like I hate Canada- quite the opposite really, it's why I chose to come here over France! Also, Sainsbury's is one of the more expensive major supermarkets in Britain, but not drastically different from the others. Tesco is by far the biggest supermarket back home which is why I compared their prices.

moreResolved Question: Why did I always have smoking dreams? And another dream question..?
First of all: I am twelve and I started getting dreams where I was smoking, and it was the main part of the dream. I had never tried a cigarette when I started getting them. But my mum did smoke, but only like once a week, and gave up two years ago. After I kept getting them I started having cigarettes with my friends sometimes to see what it was like, and now I don't get them.. Eh? Was my dreaming forcing me to smoke?
And question two is: My mum died on 30th March from breast cancer, and I had a really horrible dream not long after. What does it mean?
I dreamt I was in my friends house, but in my dream it was in a different area, and it was 6pm in the summer. I was looking at her books and wanted to borrow one, but she wasn't there, so I decided to go out to the shops to buy it. I remember, I was bare foot, and I went to a little tesco metro to buy it. I was looking around and I saw a lady, who looked familiar, and it was my mum. She smiled and I ran over and hugged her. She was standing next to the book I wanted, so I picked it up, and walked over to the counter to buy it, with my arm round her. I turned to her to tell her something, and she was gone. The man at the counter shrugged, as though he had never seen her. And I ran out the shop crying. I remember running down the road and I kept on running till I was in this foret, but then I woke up.
moreResolved Question: Budget 2010: Welfare and benefits - if its so bad why don t the government give out Rationing books?
The Second World War saw the disappearance from the shops of all but the necessities.
Rationing of food and clothing
Bacon - 4 oz. (113 gm) to 8 oz. (227 gm) a week

Cheese — 1 oz. (28 gm) to 8 oz. (227 gm) this can worke in to days markit family's can be given
Sugar - 8 oz. (227 gm) a week.
In July 1940 a complete ban was put on the making or selling of iced cakes, and in September the manufacture of 'candied peel' or 'crystallised cherries' meant the death knell for the traditional wedding cake.
On 1st December 1941 the Ministry of Food introduced the points rationing scheme for items such as canned meat, fish and vegetables at first. Later items such as rice, canned fruit, condensed milk, breakfast cereals, biscuits and cornflakes were added. Everyone was given 16 points a month, later raised to twenty, to spend as wished at any shop that had the items wanted.
There was an advertising song in a commercial film in 1943 which went:
Somebody’s going to be sorry,
Somebody’s going to pay,
Somebody’s going to be sorry
They wasted my life away.
with a picture of a tablet of soap dissolving away down the sink because it had been left in water.
A 12-oz. (340 gm) packet of soap powder was half a month’s ration; you could get one egg every two months and powdered egg could be bought on points. Fruit like bananas vanished altogether.
Clothes rationing on points began in June 1941 and a new kind of clothing— utility clothing—was introduced, using cheap materials and the minimum amount of cloth.
There were even points for furniture, although you were given these only if you were newly married, or had been bombed out, or were having a baby.
Petrol was rationed so people stopped buying cars.
The things still rationed in 1948, three years after the war, were:
Bacon and Ham 2 oz. (57 gm) per person a fortnight
Cheese 1½ oz. (43 gm) a week
Butter/margarine 7 oz. (198 gm) a week
Cooking fats 2 oz. (57 gm) a week
Meat 1s. (5p) worth a week
Sugar 8 oz. (227 gm) a week
Tea 2 oz. (57 gm) a week
Chocolates and sweets 4 oz. (113 gm) a week
Eggs No fixed ration: 1 egg for each ration book when available
Liquid milk 3 pints a week
Preserves 4 oz. (113 gm) a week
Points-rationed Foods 4 points per week
Bread, soap, bananas, and potatoes were also rationed during this period. In 1951 people could still buy only 10d. George Osborne, Chancellor of the Exchequer:
This emergency Budget deals decisively with our country’s record debts. It pays for the past. And it plans for the future.
Public sector pay
A further way we can ease the pressure on public services is to agree that we need to restrain public sector pay in these difficult times.
And we need to do something about the spiralling costs of public sector pensions.
Many millions of people in the private sector have in the last couple of years seen their pay frozen, their hours reduced, and their pension benefits

moreResolved Question: What is the best strategy to manage a household?
I live in London with my husband and I no longer work full-time. I am now 7 months pregnant and I am really struggling to find the best solution to keep up with the "house duties".
When I am not working, I find myself always indoors, doing the house chores, cleaning, hoovering, cooking, going to different groceries every couple of days (always trying to find the best prices too), doing the laundry every couple of days a week to avoid clothes piling up, but it never seems to be enough (I used to have a cleaner once a week when I was working full-time, but she was a bit expensive and I can no longer afford to have her).
So, despite all my efforts, I am always hearing from my husband complaints that we ran out of milk, that there is no food in the house, that shower is unclean.... It is driving me mad!!
We don't have a car, so I can't really do a big load of shopping at once. I sometimes buy on-line from Tesco's or Asda, but I am never satisfied with the quality of fruits and vegetables and I end up "having a break" from shopping on-line! I recently signed up with the milk man in the neighborhood, so at least I can guarantee some milk supply on a regular basis (but still, if we run out, I hear the moaning...), we recently bought a dish-washer to make things a bit easier, but the situation is still far from efficient.
Does anyone have any ideas on a good strategy to keep a house running smoothly without endless days/hours of constant work??
Many thanks in advance!

moreResolved Question: How should i write my first CV and what should it look like?
Hi there, i'm 18 and wanting to get a summer job under my belt before i go to university. I've never had previous employment before apart from working a week at my local tennis club for unpaid work experience. So i'm wondering how to actually set out my Curriculum Vitae as i've never written one before. Also, i'm wondering what content to put it in, should i mention my previous work experience at a tennis club considering i'll probably be handing out my CV to places like tesco, clothes shops and cafe's.
I really don't know where to start and would appreciate a rough template. Can someone help me out?
Thanks in advance :)

moreResolved Question: Why do we say Tesco's and Sainsbury's but not Asda's?
Is there a rule about this? Some shops seem to take the final S - Marks and Spencer's, W H Smith's, Woolworth's, Dixon's, Waterstones. But others don't, we say ASDA, the Co-op, GAME etc.
Why is this?ASDA is not exactly an acronym but it comes from an abrreviation of "ASquith" and "DAiries"after a merger between Asquith and Associated Dairies. But the origin of TESCO is very similar, from "T E Stockwell" and "COhen" so this shouldn't account for the difference.

My Mum used to get a can of croissant dough mix and cook them for Sunday morning breakfast. I remember her twisting the can open and unrolling the dough, then using the perferations in the dough, she'd cut them into individuals and cook them... they were yummy! I cannot seem to find them anywhere! Tesco was where she used to shop, but their customer services have told me they haven't supplied them since 2004 :( Help!IN THE UK - NOT ANY OTHER COUNTRY... moreResolved Question: Big Issue Indeed! Who is supposed to sell these papers?
The newspaper called Big Issue was invented to give the homeless/drugs addicted /alcoholics ETC; a chance to legally earn a few pounds and lesson the risk that they would have to beg and steal in order to pay for their habits, but that seems to have drastically changed the last two years because in my town you only see very annoying and right in your face Romanian women selling the paper. When I asked one of the former sellers why he wasn't selling the big issue anymore he replied"you must be joking, If I want to get beaten up I would be, I used to enjoy selling it and meeting people but I got the big warning from three big Romanian blokes who made it very clear that if I carried on I would regret it," I checked this out with a couple of other homeless people and they had similar stories. To add insult to injury I spotted one of these women being set off in front of Tesco by a smart looking mercedes,I shadowed her and was able to see that her bill (which was payed cash) was well above the 100pounds. In her shopping basket was also a lot of alcohol such as whisky/gin/rum and beer (all good makes and not the cheap stuff. My question is simple: Who actually controls that the Big Issue is being sold on the streets by homeless people or is it also a question of being scared off by this rRomanianMafia type oorganisation
moreResolved Question: Moral dilemma : Should i apply for Tesco...?
Im 17 - and my mum keeps nagging me to get job...we live in a small town countryside...few people and its really nice. Anyway they are starting to build a Tesco here in the main town road - but it looks horrible and massive , there is lots of of small fruit and veg shops and they will be closed down..its like the cult of tesco now , its not like we need one : as we have everything in the town..and if you wanted to go to tesco theres one 20mins away by car...
Application forms are ready , but should i take one? The pay is good £5.28 per hr...and that means i don't have to waste money taking a bus....[if i worked in shop in nearby city i would only get £4.00 and buses are alot]
So what do you think i should do?
i always said i would never work there..but i need the money [ uni soon..and i also take flying lessons]

Im replacing my stone age PC (2002!!!) with a laptop and am hunting round for a middle range good all rounder. I have a couple of questions because I've never owned a laptop before s here goes.
* Many only have a battery life of 2-3 hrs, can I plug it into the mains and use it longer?
* What are they like for watching movies on?
* What about over heating? Is this only a problem when used out and about or can it happen if plugged into the mains?
* At the moment I have dial up (Yeah I KNOW!) what d I have to do to get broadband and are all laptops ready to go so far as broad band is concerned?
I shall probably get an external hard drive as well for pics and important documents and will use the laptop mainly for surfing, shopping, writing etc what do you think about this one? http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.207-6879.aspx
Sorry for the spanish inquestition, hope someone can help :)
moreResolved Question: Why was I not allowed to buy alcohol in Tesco when I had ID but my sister who was in Tesco with me did not?
I was in Tesco buying a bottle of wine. My sister was giving me a lift across town and had accompanied me into the shop, but we had rushed out and she had only grabbed her car keys and not her wallet. We got the the checkout and I was ID'd, which was fine as I'm 26 and had my drivers licence. The cashier looked at my sister (who is 22) and told me she would not be able to serve me unless she had ID too, but was unable to give me a reason why (and just kept repeating "it's not my fault"). I think there is a law regarding if there is one person with ID accompanied by a group of 5 or 6 underagers they should not be served, but it seemed pretty pointless not to serve me when it was my sister, who was not actually part of the transaction. If she had been my child would they not have served me? Is there a valid law to back this up or was it just bud customer service lacking common sense?
moreResolved Question: Where is the line drawn with product placement in the UK?
To explain my question, in the UK there's rules to product placement in TV.
For example a character in 'EastEnders' couldn't guzzle a can on Red Bull.
In 'Coronation Street' nobody shops at Tesco (always the fictional supermarket).
But, then again there's freedom for people to drive round an array of cars. I mean, if a brand new Mercedes-Benz in featured on TV, then that's product placement, isn't it?
And in sports, there's brand logos around the side of the pitch (in the case of football) and logos behind players when doing interviews.
Perhaps someone working in advertising would be able to tell me.
So, if anyway understand how it works and cares to explain, please do!
Thanks in advance!
moreResolved Question: What would make you buy a new non-alcoholic drink? part 2?
Just to clarify from my other question...
I am trying to determine how the public would notice my drink on the shelf in a shop like Tesco. Would you buy your drink purely because...
- it has eye-catching packaging
- it is an ideal situation in store (convenient)
- price
- popular with your friends/work colleagues
- nutritional value
What would drive you to buy a new drink when it is sitting with other rivals.
I was thinking of a yogurt type drink that could be a replacement/ added extra to a breakfast and could also be part of your lunch.
Thank you in advance for any answers I get it will be very much appreciated because I have literally 2 days to complete an entire project. Good Times!
moreResolved Question: do you get embarassed over where you shop~?
Do you get embarrassed about where you get your clothes?
Just recently i have been getting some really good t shirts out of Tesco and Primark, i love them and they're dead cheap which is a plus when you're signing on! I also get some good jeans out of Tesco too.
But when people enquire as to where i got a t shirt and i tell them there's always a flicker of snobbery over their faces. It's made me feel a little bit ashamed that i have to shop in there.
not that i have much of a choice and i keep seeing t shirts i like! The IronMan one is next.
So am i being silly?
moreResolved Question: those tesco club card coupons that you get in the mail for 25 , 50 bonus points etc, can you use these online?
and if so how do you use them for your online shop
moreResolved Question: anybody else noticed this with tesco?
i went to two tesco stores today, one food shopping and one home store, now at both stores i purchased items in two different transactions because hubby was too slow to catch up with me, now i spent nearly £300 in both stores and you know you are meant to get clubcard points, well guess what? on each receipt it told me how many points i had earned that time on each of the four receipts but the total amount at the end was always the same 173 even when each lot of the points because each till total was for different amounts, now how many more people have they conned, we dont think to check what points we had the last time as most of our lives are too busy for that, it was just as i was checking the amount that i had spent today that i noticed, i know this is trivial but if you are like me then to save any penny you can you only buy food that is on offer that week and you go to stores that give you points so that you can get a little back. anyway have you noticed them conning you as well this way. ? i really cant believe that they do this to people surely they make enough money off us.
