Voting Question: I complained to the ASDA service team, I'm still not happy, what can I do?

We made an online food shopping order with ASDA recently that came to a total of around £25. At the checkout we were told we had won a £75 e-voucher in a Dettol competition, as the previous week we had bought a bottle of Dettol we didn't question this. So we returned to the shopping page to bring our bill up to the £75 mark, put the e-voucher on it and paid only £5 or so for the delivery. The next day at about 10.30am (30 minutes into our delivery slot time) we received a phone call from the local ASDA saying it was all a mistake and we could either cancel the order meaning due to how the website works not be able to make a new order until the next day and also meaning we had to wait for the bank to put back the £5 delivery they had still taken or we could pay the £75 and get a £25 good will e-voucher. If we cancelled we did not get the £25 good will gesture! As we only ever placed that order to make up to the £75 e-voucher we cancelled the order. As we were not happy about this as well as other problems we experienced with the site we complained to ASDA House in Leeds. We informed them about this incident along with an issue we had before with the site taking money from a card used on the site once. The ASDA billing section had for some months been billing my card and not my partners, we had been entering HIS details and HIS security code and it had been billing my card and emptied my account! My card was not the main card and security codes are not meant to be able to be saved but some how this was happening until eventually I went to a cash machine and found my account empty. I phoned my bank thinking my details had been stolen and as they went through my bill with them it was ASDA all my money had gone to. As we had made an order that day before went into town we rushed home to find that my account was due to be charged £50 when nothing was in it, if we hadn't have noticed it I would have been overdrawn and this is when we noticed that even when he put all his card details in it automatically went to my card until its details were taken off the site. Today I got the response to the complaint, the issues with my card have been ignored im guessing as they have not mentioned anything about it, not even we're sorry! As for the e-voucher issue all we are being offered again is £25 e-voucher IF we make an order again of £75! Sorry for the long question but its complicated to explain, can we take any of this further and who with and is ASDA House in Leeds the Head Office? I have an existing website which I built myself to showcase my photography. I have since gotten a lot of interest in buying my photos since shooting some football matches so decided to build my own shopping cart to it. However it is no ordinary shopping card, each photo that can be bought can be printed in various sizes as well as digital copies ordered, but there is also a qty discount per photo size too. I now want to allow customers to pay online for their photos but am unsure of what option to get. I have decided I should go for PayPal as most people will have a PayPal account from using ebay and I know i need to go through their merchent services but i'm unsure which method of integration I should choose. These two cards are neck and neck in performance, each beating each other in different games, but the gts250 wins out very slightly. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?V… This is the deal i found with the gts 250 which comes with assasins creed. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VTX-RADEON-HD-5750… This is the best deal I have found on a HD5750. The HD5750 has DX11 and I have noticed it tends to cope with anti-aliasing better than the gts250, but the gts 250 is slightly stronger, cheaper, and comes with a game. I have a NVIDIA chipset atm and I have been told by some that that will be awkward with an ATI card but others told me this is lies. Because of this doubt I have been leaing towards the gts250 because it is NVIDIA aswell, but its an old card and I don't want to be getting something I will have to replace quickly. Calling the advice of all computer nerds on yahoo answers to help me choose. My screen resolution is 1600x900. Mainly at the moment I play WoW, which isn't very graphically demanding, but hopefully now having a decent graphics card I'll buy all my games for the PC rather than the Xbox360. thanks. and also I quite like the gts250 because NVIDIA have physX. Voting Question: WHY ISN’T DATA ENCRYPTED DURING STORAGE????

hi i'm a mathematics student at uni, can u help me with this thing??? only specifically discuusing genuine online stores, not phishing/spoofing sites... even though most data is protected/encrypted in transit, i.e. during a transaction, why is it that most e-commerce companies don't actually encrypt the information they store on their customers? i.e, why is data normally stored in plaintext not encoded things? i imagine a treasure chest and lock.... what's the point of a secure lock on the treasure chest, cos once the box is opened, why don't online shopping companies make things more secure by locking mini-boxes within a big treasure chest?? does it cost more money to be more secure??? i think it should be online stores should be face severe fines if they're careless enough to allow hackers to exploit customers, its the only way to force there to be an upsurge in security what do u think?? more

Resolved Question: How to gain back self-esteem...my boyfriend insults/degrades/torments me :(?

Weve been together almost 2 yrs. I'm 20, he's 27. When we met, I had high self-esteem and didn't want a boyfriend until college, but he was really nice and he really caught my eye. He was from China, and supposedly studying Engineering. I fell in love with him only to find he was a Math Grad who WANTED to study Engineering. This didn't bother me, but now I realize it was a red flag. After a few months of dating this is what he began saying (numerous times): *you're boobs aren't big enough (he compared my boobs (im 100lbs) to 300lb girls...and I have 30D's!) your arms are too thin, i want straight hair on you -- not wavy your hair color sucks, constantly informed me that I should get rid of my acne (like it was a choice) he wanted me to be tan, wanted me to show cleavage, reinforced the fact that my clothing was too old i didn't have enough arm hair, my stomach was too toned. Even on a date one day (he was 3 hours late as usual), we were eating some icecream when he gives me this serious look, "Why do you have wrinkles under your eyes?" I had no idea what he was talking about, so he takes his finger and traces them until i start crying. Instead of apologizing he goes, "Don't cry, or you'll get more wrinkles." So now I spend around 1 hour per day staring at the wrinkles under my eyes and trying to get rid of them. *HIS COMPLIMENTS don't include my turquoise eyes, straight white teeth etc...instead they are: *you are skinny *you are a white person :( A few months ago he even said something that I thought was really creepy. Out of the blue he went, "When you are older, you'll be wrinkly, with rotten teeth and no hair. You'll be so ugly and disgusting!" I was stunned and asked what that was about.He gave me a look like I was crazy! This brings me to another point, he talks to himself...sometimes I'll look at him and he'll be mumbling with a creepy smile on his face. Also he wakes up in the middle of the night saying stuff in Chinese :/ He is always late and sometimes doesn't even come home. He lies like crazy about what he is doing (ex. drugs/parties), and has anger-management issues (he gets angry over small things and will go on screaming and slamming doors and throwing things for HOURS). Like one example is when we just moved in together...he offered to wash the dishes one day after lunch...so he is supposed to be washing dishes when suddenly he starts calling me a wh*re, sl*t, bi*tch (his favorite word to call me), ghetto trash, golddigger, etc. (I'm used to this by now) and slamming doors. I was like, "Whats wrong?" He screamed that, "The dirty dishes are TOO dirty -- I don't want to wash them anymore!" Speaking of golddigger, he only had 1 gf before me and SHE used and cheated on him (NOT me)...also, I shop at thrifts and here is an ex. of how he treats me: *Last week my tracfone broke, so I bought another one online for $30, and he goes, "you shouldn't spend so much money!" That same day he goes out and buys a new iphone. :/ He also always spends long amounts of time POSING in front of the mirror and commenting on how "buff" he is. He also LAUGHS about girls getting beaten up. I really think he's insane... EVERYONE thinks he is this nice, funny guy...but he's NOT. He even flirts with girls right in front of me. I have a hard time making female friends, and most guy friends want to date me...so I have been keeping this to myself. I don't want my mom to worry, so I don't tell her about what he does, although she already hates my boyfriend. (I can't live with her) :( Sorry for this rant, but does anyone have any ideas on how to stop feeling so ugly/worthless? *Ps he has done MUCH more than I listed such as join dating sites, tell me I should just stay home and look pretty, tell me I'll never become successful (I want to be a CEO), tell strangers that I suck at this-or-that (although he never mentions that im a guitarist, artist, writer, gamer, etc). Anyway, any suggestions on how to gain back my self-esteem? I feel like a pathetic loser and always doubt myself now...I want to move out, but money is tight (I'm paying for college, food, rent(we split it 50-50)...everything) and I am *hopefully* studying abroad in 8 months so... Resolved Question: Is 47% protein too high in dry cat food as...?

I've read too high a protein level can cause kidney problems, is this right? I've seen a complete dry cat food called Encore, (made by the same company who make Applaws cat food). I give my cat 2 pouches of wet cat food a day and some dry. I was thinking of trying this ENCORE dry food but after reading high protein levels could cause kidney problems i'm having second thoughts. Resolved Question: How can I get hold of the element skateboards complaints department?

I have recently bought an Element Utopia longboard, to replace my broken Lush board. The board is heavy the risers huge and genrally skates like shite but thats not even the problem. Within 10 minutes of leaving the shop 6 of the truck bolts had fallen out and one of the trucks fell off. No worries i though so I bought some new nuts which then proceeded to fall off within 5 minutes. The board has been designed in such a way that the bolts it is supplied with are two short for the trucks and risers but too long for the trucks without risers. The bolts are also longer than any avalible to purchase in skate shops or online so while waiting (two weeks now) for my local shop to source new longer bolts I have been unable to skate and left with an expensive crap board that I haven't yet had a chance to use properly. too add insult to injury i only bought the board because I wanted to go skate and couldn't wait for a new Lush board to be delivered from an online site. I looked at the Element website and can't find any links to a complaints department. Any help? sorry for the rant, but I'm venting my rage. more

I recently bought a t-shirt and a hoodie from an online retailer. On the retailer's website it said that if I purchase one of their hoodie's I should choose the size up from the t shirt size I bought from them. Hence I bought a large size t-shirt and also ordered an XL hoodie. However, whilst the t shirt fits fine the hoodie is enormous compared to my other hoodies (all of which are size large). I went back to the retailer's website to see if I could exchange it for a smaller size, but on their refunds/exchanges section of the site it states that any returns/exchanges must be unworn and in their original sealed packaging. I've only tried the hoodie on just to see if it fits, as you would do in a shop, but when I contacted them about getting an exchange they said I wouldn't be able to exchange it. What are my rights? Can they do this? more

Resolved Question: Bike making a clunking noise?

My bike's started making a nasty noise. It sounds like it's coming from the bottom bracket, and I'd describe it as a heavy clicking. It only occurs at a low cadence and when I apply a lot of pressure, for example when pulling away from a stop line in a too high a gear. I've looked online (esp. the Sheldon Brown site) but no help so far. The bike's 9 months / 1500 miles old, and I've been very careful with it. Any ideas on what it could be before I take it to my local bike shop would be much appreciated. more

Its a new online shop selling through a site called Folksy, similar to Etsy! Its selling handmade accessories like hippie style hairbands, fabric flower brooches/necklaces/hair accessories and clutch bags! They will be sort of bohemian chic in style and would like a name that reflects this style but is also easy to remember/memorable! i think i have it, i overspend my budget every week, i get store cards, have maxed a lot of cards i now cannot afford food today i have used our holiday fund out today to get the food in. was even shopping online it is usually not clothes i go for. i have been paying off one bill then another comes in and i cant seem to stop dont even want the damn things and i have shamefacedly taken items back a week later after i bought them on impulse as i never used. dont laugh i really have got into a lot of debt and am worried and need to stop. it is embarrassing am sure the neighbours must see all the courier vans that i sign for boxes of things and the postman laughs his head off saying he is kept ina job due to me! i must be bad. it is usually online. it is not expensive it is like used books and second hand items at a well known auction site but they must all think its new. i keep buying used bargain books and so on. more
