Open Question: Online tool to make clothes combinations from catalogs when shopping online for clothes?
Hi, I'm looking for some online tools that allow me to preview possible clothes (and shoes and accessories) combinations to help me when shopping online for clothes. Is there any service like that online? It would be cool if it had something like a virtual mannequin on which to check the various combinations. And also if it had some suggestions of products to combine with, according to style, color etc.
I'm talking about men's clothes! Probably, if there's something like this already in the internet, it's only for women, but I hope they also have it for men's fashion
moreOpen Question: I'm looking for a thick bit for a sensitive horse?
My horse is pretty sensitive and he likes fatter bits better. He also does better with a link or lozenge. Right now I'm borrowing one from my barn, but I would like to have my own so I'm not using theirs. We can't figure out the brand because the name has worn off and I have found similar ones, but not quite thick enough. I recently bought a Mikmar which is all copper and he likes the copper, but it doesn't seem to be thick/fat enough. I've looked online and in catalogs, and local tack shops, but it's hard to see thickness in pictures and my local tack shops don't carry thick/fat bits...
If you know of any please let me know! Below are some of the things he needs/prefers.
Loose ring is preferred but a D-ring would be fine. Copper would be an added bonus but it doesn't need to be. A link is also preferred, but he does alright without if it's thick enough. And it must be thick/fat. If it's not he tends to shy away and get behind the bit.
Hope this wasn't too complicated and that I provided enough information! Thank you all for your input =)In addition to Loose Ring and D-Ring, Eggbutt bits are fine as well =)
I would like to hear from peoples personal experience because I've looked online and in catalogs, and it's pretty hard to see which ones are thick or not in a picture. So if you've personally seen/have one that is pretty thick, that would help me a lot =) But please feel free (if you want) to post links! I may have missed some =)

Why cyberspace isn’t, and will never be, nirvana
By Clifford Stoll | NEWSWEEK
From the magazine issue dated Feb 27, 1995
After two decades online, I’m perplexed. It’s not that I haven’t had a gas of a good time on the Internet. I’ve met great people and even caught a hacker or two. But today, I’m uneasy about this most trendy and oversold community. Visionaries see a future of telecommuting workers, interactive libraries and multimedia classrooms. They speak of electronic town meetings and virtual communities. Commerce and business will shift from offices and malls to networks and modems. And the freedom of digital networks will make government more democratic.
Baloney. Do our computer pundits lack all common sense? The truth in no online database will replace your daily newspaper, no CD-ROM can take the place of a competent teacher and no computer network will change the way government works.
Consider today’s online world. The Usenet, a worldwide bulletin board, allows anyone to post messages across the nation. Your word gets out, leapfrogging editors and publishers. Every voice can be heard cheaply and instantly. The result? Every voice is heard. The cacophany more closely resembles citizens band radio, complete with handles, harrasment, and anonymous threats. When most everyone shouts, few listen. How about electronic publishing? Try reading a book on disc. At best, it’s an unpleasant chore: the myopic glow of a clunky computer replaces the friendly pages of a book. And you can’t tote that laptop to the beach. Yet Nicholas Negroponte, director of the MIT Media Lab, predicts that we’ll soon buy books and newspapers straight over the Intenet. Uh, sure.
What the Internet hucksters won’t tell you is tht the Internet is one big ocean of unedited data, without any pretense of completeness. Lacking editors, reviewers or critics, the Internet has become a wasteland of unfiltered data. You don’t know what to ignore and what’s worth reading. Logged onto the World Wide Web, I hunt for the date of the Battle of Trafalgar. Hundreds of files show up, and it takes 15 minutes to unravel them–one’s a biography written by an eighth grader, the second is a computer game that doesn’t work and the third is an image of a London monument. None answers my question, and my search is periodically interrupted by messages like, “Too many connectios, try again later.”
Won’t the Internet be useful in governing? Internet addicts clamor for government reports. But when Andy Spano ran for county executive in Westchester County, N.Y., he put every press release and position paper onto a bulletin board. In that affluent county, with plenty of computer companies, how many voters logged in? Fewer than 30. Not a good omen.
Point and click:
Then there are those pushing computers into schools. We’re told that multimedia will make schoolwork easy and fun. Students will happily learn from animated characters while taught by expertly tailored software.Who needs teachers when you’ve got computer-aided education? Bah. These expensive toys are difficult to use in classrooms and require extensive teacher training. Sure, kids love videogames–but think of your own experience: can you recall even one educational filmstrip of decades past? I’ll bet you remember the two or three great teachers who made a difference in your life.
Then there’s cyberbusiness. We’re promised instant catalog shopping–just point and click for great deals. We’ll order airline tickets over the network, make restaurant reservations and negotiate sales contracts. Stores will become obselete. So how come my local mall does more business in an afternoon than the entire Internet handles in a month? Even if there were a trustworthy way to send money over the Internet–which there isn’t–the network is missing a most essential ingredient of capitalism: salespeople.
What’s missing from this electronic wonderland? Human contact. Discount the fawning techno-burble about virtual communities. Computers and networks isolate us from one another. A network chat line is a limp substitute for meeting friends over coffee. No interactive multimedia display comes close to the excitement of a live concert. And who’d prefer cybersex to the real thing? While the Internet beckons brightly, seductively flashing an icon of knowledge-as-power, this nonplace lures us to surrender our time on earth. A poor substitute it is, this virtual reality where frustration is legion and where–in the holy names of Education and Progress–important aspects of human interactions are relentlessly devalued.

moreResolved Question: Diana F+ or Holga Cameras?
So its getting near my birthday and I wanted to try experimenting with film cameras. So far I am leaning towards a Diana F+ because you can accessorize more with it but I'm still deciding. However, I still have questions! *I'm new to film photography, so please, dont make smart alec comments here....
1) What's the difference between these two? I heard a term called pinhole which is a new word for me because I own a DSLR.... What does that mean? and Do these two cameras shoot the same way/similarly?
2) what kind of film should I get for these cameras? 35mm or 120mm or can both films work both cameras?
3) Can my one hour photo booth here at costco, walgreens, etc, convert the film I have to a CD so i can transfer them onto a computer?
4) Which one do you think is better in quality?
5) this one, http://usa.shop.lomography.com/diana-f-snow-cat
or this one? http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=16376311&navAction=jump&isProduct=true&parentid=MORE%20IDEAS&isProduct=true&cross-sell=true&guide-bn=true
what kind of film do these two cameras use, and which one is better? could you use a 35mm if you didnt have a 120mm.
6) Last question, where in the world can I find 120 mm film here in Georgia? Costco, walgreens, wolf camera? etc? buying online is my last option. :P
Sorry for asking all these stupid questions, haha Thanks!

moreResolved Question: American flag shirt? READ DETAILS?
I am looking for an American Flag T-Shirt to buy. I don't mean the kind that is a white or grey shirt with a picture of the flag on it, but one where the shirt is just a regular old cotton shirt dyed in such a way as to resemble an American flag. Does anyone have a link where I could buy such a shirt? And I don't mean a link to a t-shirt shop, but a link directly to the shirt?
Something like this:
http://www.bubbyboutique.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/5e06319eda06f020e43594a9c230972d/A/M/AMERICANFLAGSSO.jpg
But not a onesie, and for men.
I AM LOOKING FOR A LINK DIRECTLY TO THE PRODUCT. NO ONLINE STORES. NO "YOU CAN PROBABLY FIND IT HERE" WITH LINKS TO AMAZON. I HAVE TRIED ASKING THIS QUESTION BEFORE, SPECIFYING I WANTED A LINK TO THE SHIRT ITSELF BUT KEEP GETTING LINKS TO STORES. HOPEFULLY CAPS LOCKS CATCHES ATTENTION.
moreResolved Question: What do you look for when shopping online?
I'm looking to increase my web sales, and am having trouble competing with the "big names" that send a paper catalog every 3 weeks....
I have a small business, specialty sport retail, with high-end, and mid-priced quality equipment and apparel. Great customer service (we've been told), 9 out of 10 employees actively compete in our sport, yet it's been tough to transfer the in-store success to our website (as far as profit).
We get the hits and page views, and items in the cart, yet people won't "pull the trigger" and actually purchase! It's driving me nuts!
Sure, we sent coupons to current clients, promo codes in advertising, do banner ads....and all that seems to "discount" us, and ends up losing $ in the long run.
Any other small businesses see growth online??

moreResolved Question: How to handle Ms. I have to out shine you?
I have a friend who I have known for over 6 years. She was not always like this or maybe I did not spend enough time around her in the past. I moved into her neighbor hood 2 1/2 years ago, after she had suggested it would be nice for me to live here, since I needed to find a place. After signing my lease her and her boyfriend came over to welcome me with a gift. My apartment is the same exact model as hers but was unfurnished. I like interior decoration as a my hobby, I started doing this from the age of 13. It is something I enjoy doing and I do it for no other reason. I had my friend come over once after the first time and when she saw my apartment, she said yours looks so much better than mine and after that day I noticed she didn't come over much. One night over wine she admitted that she was jealous of the fact that my apartment looked so much nicer than hers and that she stopped coming over for that. I was a bit surprised, because I don't decorate my house to please or tease anyone but myself, so I offered to help her fix her apartment up. At the time she was on a budget, but I explained to her that I could help her set her place up on a budget, like I had done with mine and so she accepted. I drew up some sketches and offered some pictures of Items I had found online that were nice but not so pricey and that would allow for us to purchase more items, however she decided she needed to have furniture from Macy's so I let her do her thing. Shortly after that she kept buying things herself and asking how I felt about the item, while mentioning how she bought it at some name brand store. She once got an IKEA catalog and gave it to me since she doesn't really shop there she said.......what the? I guess she forgot her before sofa was from IKEA. I went through a rough time last year and she was on the up and up financially, I went over for some support as I had allot of things on my mind but every time I was over there she made it a point to mention how her life is so fabulous that she is going to school making lots of money and just plain out bragging. I mean I'm happy for her but when you mention it so much, it seems like she is doing it for other reasons. I got a new cell phone and she said it was the one she wanted, I had no Idea so she went out and got herself a better one. I distanced myself some from her ever since, She ran into me back in November and saw me cleaning out my car early in the morning, and asked me what was up and I explained my car had transmission problems and that it would be to expensive to fix so I was going to trade in, after all I had that car for 6 years, I liked my car but it was necessity for me to have a working car. I bought my new car but decided not to tell her even though she blew up my phone a few times that day, I pretended to be busy. Three weeks later I received a call from her because she bought her new dining table at pottery barn and wanted me to see it and then she said :so did you get a new car"? I said yes and she asked what did you get? I said a Nissan Murano, she said the SUV, right on. I noticed her tone changed and then she had to let me go. I went over yesterday to pick up somethings she said that didn't fit her daughter anymore and that will fit my daughter and I soon as I walked in, she says "look what I got from the trash can to the new lap top, yeap she wanted to show me all and then she mentioned how her friend was planning on buying her car from her and that she might be getting a new car, she said she was looking to get an ACURA but perhaps she should stick to something she could pay off faster or maybe she can convince one of her guy friends to let her drive his Escalade a little longer and make no car payments. There is nothing wrong with her Mazda. Personally, I am to damn old to be in competition especially with someone who I thought was my friend, I have other friends and I don't have this problem I don't envy them and they don't envy me, we are happy for each other when either one succeeds. It's a new year, I'm considering writing her off all together, what do you think?

moreResolved Question: Which Shoe Should I Get?
I am an 11 year old girl that is getting a new pair of shoes. And yes I did ask before using Yahoo! Answers. This is my older sister's account.
My mother buying a new pair of shoes for me and I don't know which one to pick. Please don't tell me to get a specific shoe just because of the price.
Here are the shoes:
***Nike Kids' Vandal Hi, 317038-162 = $29.98
http://www.finishline.com/store/catalog/product.jsp?productId=prod641293&categoryId
***Air Jordan 1 Phat Low, 364771-061 = $75.00
http://store.nike.com/index.jsp?sitesrc=USLP&country=US&lang_locale=en_US#l=shop,pdp,ctr-inline/cid-1/pid-259752
I really want a Jordan, however, I really like the Vandal. Also, if you know a real online store where I can get any of these 2 shoes for less, it would also be very helpful.
Furthermore, if this is helpful, these are the shoes that I already have:
***Nike Dunk High, 316604-601
http://www.sneakerhead.com/316604-601.html
***Nike Dunk Low, 309601-113
http://www.sneakerhead.com/309601-113.html
Tell me what you think about both shoes and thank you very much for your help!!! :D

moreResolved Question: i am thinking of getting a new purse either in white or in black. which one should i pick?
a little background: i only have one black purse and numerous brown bags. the white purse is also 60 bucks cheaper, but will more than likely show dirt easier.
the purse in white is found here: http://shop.bodhibags.net/details.php?item=B0010450&l=Women&t=clutch
the purse in black is found here: http://www.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=441287&cm_mmc=GoogleShopping-_-2-_-20-_-MP220

He's 80yo and likes to go to the coffee shop with his buddies every evening. So I thought I'd get him a gift card there, but they don't sell them online and my dad (and the coffee shop) are 5 hours away from me! He used to be an avid sportsman, so he has all the magazines/catalogs and equipment he wants. He likes the outdoors. But at his age, he doesn't do much that's "outdoorsy" anymore. Socks seem like a cop out. He doesn't wear ties. What else can I get him?

moreResolved Question: i want to "improve"? my looks. tips?
I'm 5' 10" and I have really long legs. When I get jeans I usually have to get about 37" long! I'm also fairly thin, I way about 125 pounds which is pretty light when it comes to being 5' 10". I feel a lot better about myself when I look good and feel good. It's soo hard for me to find jeans that look good on me and are long enough and thin enough! I can't go to any stores, I usually have to buy online and in catalogs if I can even find anything in there. My waist size is a 25, If you have any suggestions of where I could shop for jeans that's be great. So far I use The Buckle, Alloy.com [and catalog] and Delia's online [and catalog]
I would also like to have long beautiful hair. Right now my hair is about two inches below my shoulder. I want it even longer yet. Exstentions aren't an option for me, too expensive! So do you have any techniques or ideas on how to get your hair to grow faster?
Then, my face. I have an oval face, more long than round. I have brown eyes big lips and a very fair skin tone. I have mild acne, not to bad. But I have and use ............ Its made to dry your skin out and make it peel and get rid of the zits and blemishes however I'm using it and its peeling but once skin peels off nothing happens with the stuff underneath it. So now I still have mild acne and a peeling face, this stuff was prescribed but its obviously not doing what it's said to do :/ I would like any make up tips too. Clothing tips would be awesome and just anything you think would make me look prettier or more self confident! I already have confidence in myself so this isn't really a problem I just think it would make me feel even better about myself.
So any tips you have would really help me out. Thanks. [btw, im 15 (:]

I'm looking for some affordable stores that I can order ONLINE from that are similar to
Forever21.com, CharlotteRusse.com, WetSeal.com, and Rue21 in style.
5.7.9 is similar too, but they don't have an online catalog you can purchase from, like Rue21 doesn't.
Also, by affordable, I mean cheap. Not stores with tops that run from $30-$60 regularly. Prices like those of Forever21 are good. I'm a college student trying to support myself, so yeah..
I like trying out new shops. But preferably legit sites that you know will ship the stuff, please.
