Resolved Question: My father ruined my life?

Yes he did. Just because he thought I would fail my high school exams before the results came out, he made me join a radio repair course when I wanted to go to college like normal people do. My marks were 60% when teh results came out, wasn't high, but was fair enough. This ruined my self esteem when every one who studied with me went to college and I went to a small shop like environment to learn how to repair radios. When that course ended in a year, he made me go to another mediocre institute that offered a diploma in Technical Education surrounded by people not of my standards, and when I nagged him a lot after that course, he put me in a namesake engineering college where I couldn't study properly as through all my time in that college he was repeatedly threatening me that he would make me sit only in a radio shop and that I would never be able to get a decent engineers job. This i believe was a move by him to justify his putting me in that radio repair course 4 years previously. Now I find myself not suitable to look for a job anywhere, nor do a business of my own, and the only thing I do now to make money is do freelancing work online, which still isn't what I dreamed of when I was in school. I loose interest in things very quickly, I waste a lot of time, I wander around aimlessly, and I waste a lot of the money I make. This is my self analysis. If I go and talk to my father now, he would tell me that he was right about making me sit in a radio shop. Well, he made it happen. He made me good for nothing else. And I am not strong enough to go and confront him. My brother on the other hand who scored just as much marks as me has a great job now and has a regular flow of income. His education was in a good stream, and he was sent to a good college, and im fuckin jelous of him and thats killing me too. I am a looser. I couldn't fight then, and I still dont have the balls to fight now. What should I do? Accept what I have got and cut relations with everyone who is making me feel low? Or give up and fall at their feet and tell them all that I was born to loose. more

I don't mean online either. I had two boys when I was 17 and18. Got married to the love of my life (not the dad) when I was 21. Had another baby with him a year later, and he already had an older son. Now I have four boys and I moved away from my family when my husband and I first moved in together because he got a new job. Now I do school online and am at home with the 2 year old and the others when they get home from school. I just get so tired of being around the house doing work and being with all guys all the time. My husband makes friends at work and they come over, but they are guys too. I can't work because I am still in school and can't get a good enough job to be able to pay for child care for the little one and after school care for the others. My husband has to go out of town on business often. I get sooo lonely. I get so depressed about having no fun sometimes. I mean I love them all so much, but I need a female to talk to, shop with, and just hand out with sometimes. My husband always thinks it is a mental problem and tells me to go see a psyciatrist. I know that's not it. What should I do?Daddy will watch them and let me go out, but I just feel so lonely and dumb when I go alone. I will have to try another mom's group. The others were very snobby. Also I felt weird, like I was trying to pick up a friend, like a date or something. Open Question: I have a problem which i think could change my life. Please help. I have never been so scared?

Basically, I was going mad online looking for jobs and i applied to about 20 desperate for cash because i was so skint. I then starting talking to someone about online work. I said i was happy to do it and was away for the next few days, i told my family while i was at home that i wanted to go to miami this year and they all said thats a good idea. 2 days later i get 3 cheques through the post that made up to 1500 euros. It was in a plane envelope adressed to me no letter or not or anything just 3 plane cheques with no writing on them. Being desperate for money i addressed them to my mate wrote his name on them and he signed them(Because i didnt have a bank account and i asked him if we could both pay them in to his account). So we both went down together and payed them into his account and thought nothing of it, I went mad and bought loads of stuff for me and my gf had on a 4 day bendor, payed my rent bought food for the rest of the month. I then checked my emails to see if any other jobs had got back to me. I had an email from the same online company saying we sent you the payment can you take £300 for urself and pay the rest into a western union bank in the name of mr Gergerd or something like that. I paniced and thought shit shit shit, ive spent someone elses money, why didnt they attach a letter with the money saying it was from them, it could of been from anyone. I emmediatly emailed them back and said some direct debits had come out of his account unexpected(because i was too ashamed to tell them what really happend) They emailed we every day asking me for the money, i told them i would see if i could borrow it. Who is going to lend me £900 to put into there account and ive never heard of a western union bank. So as i kept emailing them back and said i was trying to find the money. I explained to them i had not signed anything and the money came before i received their emails, how was i supposed to know it was from them.There was no indication of where it had came from only it was addressed to me. Now 4 weeks later, my mates bank is desperatly trying to get hold of him because there is a problem that they need to talk to him about. His account is still working and is not over drawn. But they said there was a problem and he needed to come and speak to them about it. So we are both going down at 9am tomorrow to talk to the bank. I am absoluntly shitting myself, i think i have got us both in shit. and could be done for fraud or something when i honestly didnt know who the money was from. I thought it was from my aunti or family to help towards maimi or something. But i had been so skint for so long i couldnt help but go on a shopping spree. Hi everyone, I am going back to Paris later this year and I want to stock up on some pieces for my new home. I don't want to have a french 'theme' but rather have it look authentically Parisienne if that makes sense. What I am wanting to buy is all kinds of homewares from furniture to artworks to light fixtures to pillowcases and bedding. I don't have any one thing in mind I just want to go shopping for anything that takes my fancy so to speak. Open Question: What is the best credit card for 1st time users? I need it to shop online-generally (personal reasons).?

I am 19 years old and I really need to begin establishing my credit. I have read about what to look for in a credit card and what to watch out for, such as: no (hidden, setup, annual, etc) fees, no minimum balance, 0% to good interest rates, etc. and to look for good reward programs if I'll be using it often (which would be yes because I hate shopping at stores, isn't it tedious?), online payment options etc. The problem is that many of these great benefits that you should look for, truly, are offered and exclusive to people with good credit, it seems. I have no credit whatsoever and it seems as if there are Capital One's in every corner of my town. I know it's popular amongst 1st time users and I'm trying to open a savings/checking account and getting a credit/debit card. Any suggestions for the best credit card? name of it? or bank? How to remove the sunroof 2001 Mercury Cougar ? Whats up ... im going to take a stab at removing my sunroof. I purchased a new one off ebay today. Repair shops have told me $150 - $250 in labor alone. Im pretty handy. I removed the headliner already to get a good look at the whole thing. Saw the main screws to remove it. Just need assistance with wiring. What to plug and unplug with wires and hoses etc. I would like to think i could install the new one if i get the old one out successfully but my plan is to just take it out and let the pros just screw it in place and connect everything real fast to save on labor. Im looking for maybe a service guide for the sunroof or a wiring diagram online somewhere. Or anyone who can point me in a direction that would help. Thanks for reading this. Peace more

Open Question: Good set of art markers?

I'm looking to get a set of art markers but I don't know anything about markers, other than kids markers. My places to shop are Hobby Lobby, Target, etc. type places. I'm looking for fine tip, at least 12 colors. I've done some searching online and the stuff I've seen is pretty expensive ($200). That's a little high priced for what I need. Unless I did something wrong Hobby Lobby's website doesn't have a searchable database. To my question.......If you know anything about art markers is there a particular brand that doesn't run when used, somewhat affordable, and that can be found at Hobby Lobby, Target, etc.? Open Question: what do i do to fix my alienware laptop?

ok before i can just spit out the question i gotta tell the whole story....ok so i bought my first alienware laptop from a pawn shop called pyramid pawn (never buy electronics form them ever!!!! take my word for it) i know it was really idiotic but as soon as my eyes saw that there was an alienware laptop for sale i had to get it. 875 is what i paid. now when i get back to my place to give it a go. As it turns out they stripped it of all its good parts and added generic stuff (i can only assume cause its the only logical explanation i can come up with) its an alienware area 51 m9750. idk for sure cause idk how to rip apart a laptop nor do i want to risk a static disruption and damage everything. so i take it to mybuddy to try to figure out whats wrong and he has no idea. apparently the drivers are all screwed up and the disc drive isnt reading much of anything (it will sometimes run C&C 3 if i eject it and reinsert the disc for what seems 10 min. straight) we tried to do something that was said to do for my cd drive that was online it said to delete two files from my regedit and then uninstall the drive then reset and allow the plug and play to reinstall it. might not have been a problem except the fact that the two files i was told to delete were non existance. still uninstalled it and nothing really happened except it was reinstalled. thus there is also a problem eith the fact that its operating system is vista and most of the stuff is incompatible with it. soo instead of first trying to save this computer i was lookin to buy a new laptop. long story short i dont have the money for that. sooo i need to figure out how to fix my laptop and also if possible upgrade the parts with a better processer and video card and whatever all else i need to make a good gaming computer. im trying to find repair services that specialize in alienware laptops and dont charge outragious prices or if possible something i can do at home to help my progress with fixing this god forsaken problem. any info at all would be greatly appreciated. more

Open Question: Should I buy this flute?

I tried out a few flutes in my local shop, but I didn't really like any of them. I use a closed-hole flute at the moment but as I mainly play jazz, I would prefer to have an open-hole so I can glissando etc more effectively. My mum and sister will buy my flute off me for whatever it is valued at - the RRP is £505, so I reckon resale value would be about £200-300. Is that a fair guess? So ideally I don't want to be spending much more than that on my new instrument. I know 2nd-hand is a cheap way to go, but the shop I go to aren't getting anything in for a while as far as they're aware, and I don't know anyone who's looking to sell. Open Question: How do I find the value & edition of Magic The Gathering cards?

I found a box of Magic cards dated on the bottom 1994 & 1995. Some are black bordered, some are white bordered. All cards are in good condition (no bends, wear, etc), and I have been searching online on a way to find out their value. Because I've never played, collected, or understood this game, I am not sure how to determine the value & what edition they are. Some of the sites I looked up list the card, but the picture is different from the one on the cards I have. Is there any way to do the research myself before taking it to a card shop? I would like to get an idea of what we're looking at before taking it in because I know they will quickly figure out that I have no clue on the value (if any) of these cards. more
