Michel is an Irish quite, book smart introvert who prefers to keep to himself after a being bullied all the way along Primary school. The bullying itself has mostly stopped, but he still feels timid as a result. One day, he starts to notice men in immaculate suits eying him, and feels frightened. He stays inside even more as a result. One day, his Dad makes him walk the family dog, which Michel hates. As he is out walking, some of his old bullies and their older brothers grab him and drag him to the Tea House, the ruin of a small building constructed by the riverside a hundred years ago for the women of the nearby manner. Once there, one of the bullies transforms into a large black dog before his very eyes. Then, the gang of kids start to attack Michel, forcing him to transform himself: into a cat. Michel quickly shifts back and wonders what the hell is going on. Shean, the bully who transformed into a dog, explains that this is a ritual to join "The Pack". There are five steps, and they are now on the third: which involves Michel's blood. As one of them pulls a penknife on him, Michel goes into the first fight of his life, beating back three of them before fleeing back home. Though he is chased most of the way, the bullies stop when he reaches his house. Michel, terrified and confused, tells no one, and goes into a troubled sleep. It's Saturday when he gets up, and his parents take him and his brothers to Dublin City via the train. The Train is hi-jacked by men in suits with guns, who try to kidnap Michel. Michel's father attacks and incapacitates one of them, but is shot in the head. The men shoot Michel in the chest before one of them takes a phone call. He informs the others that their "Superior" told them to just let the boy burn. They strap explosives to all the carriages as the train rides over a bridge, with water below. The men in suits leap out the doors into the water, one of them detonates the explosives on his way down. Michel is engulfed in flame. He wakes up while later in a hospital in South Washington. A young nurse tenderly tells him that his parents died in the blast, and that he is the near sole survive of the crash. At this moment his Aunt crashes in, an Aunt who Michel had heard about but never met. She is formally adopting him, as he has no other family to go to. The day he moves into his new home, his cousins and their friends ask him if he wants to hang out by the river with them. Michel decides that because he wasn't really happy with the life he had back in Ireland, he'll try to be around people more, and try to make friends. He goes down with them. Michel is still edgy and quite, anxious about what the kids will think of him. The kids seem anxious too, as if they have something to tell him. Suddenly, they are attacked by men in suits, and a battle ensues. The kids hold their own against the men, both sides showing themselves to be unnaturally skilled at fighting. The kids all transform into animals, and manage to chase the men off. They tell a bewildered Michel that they are Shape-shifters; people with the power to transform into the animal they are most like. They are hunted by the men in suits, "The Hunters" and "The Magis" (the latter of whom does not exist in America). They tell him that there are packs like theirs all over the world, just kids who have to take on this huge risk and power. It's hereditary, so some of the adults in the town know about it. They tell Michel that he is one of them, and that they are going to have him join their pack. They start to tell him about the ritual, when he explains what happened with his bullies (whilst leaving out the fact that they were his bullies) and how they did the first two steps. The leader of the pack, Gary, tells him that while he can't do those two, it is the last that is about joining the pack, the first two are just introducing the world of Shape shifters to the new recruits. Hello everyone, I want to know what are good music colleges out there? I know that almost every college has a music program at their school, but I want to attend one that is a great place to get a degree in music. I know there's Juilliard, but to be realistic what are the chances for most musicians to even qualify for the school...NADA! I would do the research, but GOOGLE doesn't help since every time I look at the results it's always the same thing "Take college classes online," "Best college for nursing." So I'm wandering are there any other school that might be at the level of Juilliard(I doubt it), but a more realistic place musicians like me can qualify to make it in. But it turns out that we are only best in boasting. And the world laughs. We call this triumphalism. But is there really any triumph? Even if Filipinos boast being the best in this, the best in that, what proof can they show for it? Boasting on being the best should come with proof that they are the best. Otherwise, the boaster proves to be a liar. Unfortunately, that is how many Filipinos are turning out to be around the world. If Filipino nurses are the best in the world, as this one claims in response to Adam Carolla: Then why is there an ad like this in Facebook? I will also challenge the Filipino nurse who thinks they are the best; there are benchmarks and standards of performance. In my view, they can only be called the best if they, to use an exaggerated example, attend to twice the number of patients, give the right medication 100% every time, are the most liked by both co-workers and patients, are the most efficient in maintaining records and yet may be even earn less, compared to nurses of other countries. And they should not complain. If they complain that they are being “oppressed” by other countries without proof of the above traits, then they don’t deserve to be called the best. Commenter Jon says this about Filipino doctors who become nurses abroad. The funny thing those Filipino doctors who are working as nurses brag that they are top doctors in the Philippines. All they could do is boast the position they lost at home. They brag, but aren’t they also crying over spilled milk? Their brag is also contradictory; if they were top doctors at home, then why did they settle for being nurses? When Adam Carolla used scathing words to remind us of our own inferiority complex and our pathetic habit of relieving it by riding on the fame of achieving Filipinos, Filipinos got mad. Filipinos love to boast their sumptuous fiestas, but foreigners will wonder at the profligacy of these, not to mention how it’s being done at the risk of poverty that the fiesta junkies will later complain about. That’s the problem with Filipinos. They like to boast and say that they’re the best in something, claiming that it is a benign national trait. But when someone criticizes them, even constructively, they get mad and play out their victim mentality. They think the whole world is jealous of them and pulling them down, when in fact they pull their country down with their own bad habits and poor decision-making. After the budget info on cuts being announced and a lot more on the Horizon likely to be coming in the near future. It's clear the Gov has on a damage limitation attitude to the economy for the next 5 years. unemployment is at 2.5 mill and is a lot higher when you think about the kids in education in school, collegee and uni, that graduate year on year putting more pressure on the jobs market and resources (with degree which increasingly mean less each year). Iv been looking for full time permanent work for 5 months and forced to take part time work (due to going travel and then coming back... if you want a stable future never live your dreams... and do not leave a full time job even if you hate it!) Most people I know have no idea what the solution is to the economy (maybe there isn't one) or they just don'tnt want to think about it as they fear losing their job and don't know what they would do. If people knew where the economy is gowing then we can plan for the future but no one is telling us. Ok job growth will happen in social care, education, medical docs/ nurses in the future but these jobs do not generate money they require it. Jobs that generate money for a country are those that make things in your bundarieses or in your land borders e.g. oil extraction, raw material extraction, manufacturing - cars, electrical goods, food etc. green energy? BUT WE DONT MAKE THESE THINGS ANY MORE!. i just finished taking a bath tonight. While i was at the shower having a good time scrubbing my legs, i saw again the sites where my bruises had been. i am not hallucinating, (i know for a fact) and a pain in my heart again led me to the memory of how i was abused physically, emotionally and sexually..if i may, include financially. i came from a broken family. when i was three my mother left us. My father sent me to the province to live with my aunt (my father's sister) in the province while he worked as a soldier in another faraway city. i was 7 years old then. while i stayed with my aunt, i experienced how it was to be beaten, to be boxed, to be hit by a chair, by a belt all over my body and legs, beaten by a hard stick, to be slapped on the face boxed on the mouth and boxed on my stomach area...endless boxes, may i say. those were only for minor reasons. and i think that eventhough i did a major offense, it was not reasonable enough as i was young then.but i did not do any major offense, honestly. no one could say that i was bad for i was a consistent honor student, an active student leader in school, the editor in chief of the school publication. all good things i did just to compensate what lacked in me and to make my aunt proud. sadly, while she was hurting me, she shows this to other people (my other cousins who were present then, her two children younger than me and to our househelps).My cousins would just cry in pity seeing me in that plight.To that i feel always ashamed,disliked,being talked about and all negativity.Sometimes eventhough it's new year and visitors are present, she shouts at me and calls me things like "leech", "ingrateful" and says in front that my role in her home is to clean the comfort room. With this happening, the visitors just went home. My aunt's husband, also molested me eversince i lived in their home.he was touching my private parts and even kissing them,that continued for years, until i was in high school. my other cousin older than me also molested me touching my private parts. i did not let my father know about sexual abuse but the physical abuse, he won't believe it. My father actually sends me money for school but through my aunt and she did not give me what was due to me. now i am 24 years old and this pain comes and goes and it's something that i just try to forget but i am aware that these are unresolved issues. I just graduated in nursing and i am aware that these are serious problems but i don't know where to ask for it. i am an insomniac always thinking about things, i am not close to my cousins because of them seeing me being hurt and i am ashamed until now. i feel like i am different from them and i want to build my own safe world but it turns out lonely. i don't trust friends so much, i don't like hanging out with them. i am silent, quiet and i am always fond of beautifying myself so that people will like me. a part in my life was spent enjoying sex with different men and i feel very pretty and liked for that. but that was in the past. i have a 5-year (in God's will) boyfriend who patiently understands me and all what i am going through. but still now, this pain seems like a pinch in my heart and i want to cry, just like now as i type this. i want to not really a revenge, but to let them see how they broke me.life is unfair.life is not worth it.i think my life will be spent only on this unhappiness.there were times i tried to secretly get pregnant with my bf just to escape everything but i realized it was not the solution. i want to heal as a person but the puzzle's pieces are all gone. i know this is a serious issue not deserving to be here on yahooanswers but this is the only way i can ventilate my pains. sorry everyone if i wasted your time.... more

Resolved Question: What do you look for in a boarding stable?

If you do or don't board your horse(s) I would still like your opinion, just on services we should offer, etc. I'm helping a farm owner get my boarder's into her farm and will be taking up sort of like a barn manager role (including making the website, helping with chores, making the facebook page, etc.) The board per month would be $200. The farm is old, over 100 years old but the barn is very big, in fact we have it seperated into 4 seperate barns (made it easier for building stalls). The owner is very experienced with horses, she was a pony club leader for a while and has been working around them for over 40 years. She takes extremely good care of the horses, and they each are provided with all day turnout then stalls at night and during bad weather. We have a raised and leveled grass riding ring with a course of jumps, a small cross country course, and a raised and leveled sand round pen plus tones of hacking and we're on a very quiet road with tones of hills (me and another girl use them a lot for building up endurance and muscles on the horses). We also provide feed (sweet feed, fat and fibre, and beat pulp) and would be fine to feed something else if the owner of the horse had a certain preference in food and bought it themselves. We can blanket and boot as well. The only downside to the farm is that all the paddocks are fenced using electric fencing, would that concern you as a horse owner? Also what do you think we should provide if you were to board your horse there? Around us the cheapest board is $250 for outdoor board and that's at a farm with just an outdoor sand ring. The owner currently has 6 boarders but she just needs some more, she hasn't tried in a while to get more boarders but now she feels it's time she should. We want to get the farm perfect before asking for more boarders that way when people come and see the farm they are left with a good impression as reputations are hard to erase. We take amazing care of our horses and have some very well trained ones ourselves. I personally board my pony there who came from a bad situation (before I bought her) and the owner nursed her back to health very carefully (ensuring that she didn't founder), my pony is now going to be competing in the hunter circuit so that just proves the care given to their horses. more

Ok- there is this lady who has become sort of a small group leader for me and a another young mom I know. Our main objective, I thought, was to just vent and get feedback about issues with children- kind of a support group. This lady has 6 kids- 5 still at home... But it seems to be taking on a new shape... Instead of support- it seems like no matter what I say I want to do, she questions it. Now keep in mind that her motto is: If it's not good for you then It's not good for them.... I wouldn't mind her questioning my method, but it's more like she's trying to question my motive... and she only does it with me...which I find strange for things like 1. I said I don't like to take my 16 month old toddler to the grocery store- that I'd rather do it alone- (Keep in mind- SHE HAS 6 KIDS).. And she'll say- oh really? why? There is always stuff that she finds or gets into that I can't forsee- plus there's no reason for her to be alone... so I could nurse with her in the same room and gate it off, but she might still fall or something- and the point was that I was nervous because we don't have any family that can come and help me out... She missed the point and fixated on me babyproofing the house- which I have done- but it's an old house and it has leaks and chipped paint, and random stuff can happen- I SEE IT ON THE NEWS ALL THE TIME! Those are just two examples where it seems like she is just nit picking to find a reason to make me more insecure as a mom, than I already am- when I think she could've taken that same opportunity to be constructive and supportive. What's worse is that she doesn't do the same thing with the other woman in the group- she's a lot slower to question her method or motive...even thought she has some pretty obvious gaps in her reasoning...I would rather her just be supportive, of us both, but I am almost certain if I try to explain how I feel about this- she'll turn it all around on me like I am too sensitive or too something- she has done that before. I am not sure what to do I feel so guilty I do believe in God but the more I learn about the Bible and the horrible things God did killing children and because of what their parents did? This is a good thing? For instance the example of when the Jews made the calf out of gold and worshiped it. Moses came down from the mountain and has even the children even the babies killed as well as the parents. Why? Did the children really even know what they were doing? No, right? All we have to do is look at our own children to see that they would not understand what was really happening they were just having fun and dancing, to a child's mind. Yet they were slaughtered? Besides was not Moses wrong for leaving without proper leadership in place? Would God not have known about improper leaders in place before Moses left to write out God's commandments? These children just at this part of the Bible could have been raised by others? Correct? Even if the parents were sentenced to death. I saw this acted out once at an assembly of Jehovah's Witnesses as a child and it always seemed so wrong. I left when I grew up and grew a mind. But the more I learn about the Bible and the Council of Nicea choosing the divinity of Christ almost put to vote whether Christ was just a man and prophet of a divine being. I believe God is love. I believe in science and that God allows evolution to happen as part of creation. My mother also a former JW encouraged science and learning. She always wanted to be an archaeologist but became a nurse instead which she gave up when she became a JW with the rest of the family. Would God really want you to give up your life and dreams, education, work, to go door to door. I only got to go to the second grade in school before my parents pulled me out to save my soul. Now I am left with emptiness and sorrow and my parents have broken hearts because of doing what they thought was right at the time. No one in the family are JW's anymore. She did it on her own, and was in fact told NOT to touch him. Yes, we are horrible pit bull owners. Which is why instead of letting him be euthanized because his previous owners didn't want to pay for his treatment when they found out he had parvo we rescued him, paid for his treatment and nursed him back to health. Why was he in an aggressive state? Because our FEMALE was trying to be dominate and was mounting him. If you paid enough attention to the video and knew about dog behavior and demeanor, you'd know that's not something MALES take too kindly to. If anything we did while PLAYING with our dog would turn him into the horror stories on TV, he would have bit my husband in the face right then and there. Voting Question: Guilty conscience is preventing me from breaking up with him...?

I've been with my bf for a little over a year. I'm 22 and he's 26. We live about an hour and a half apart. I will be graduating nursing school next year then transferring for my bachelor's and joining the Air Force as a nurse. He has lived in the same town his whole life and has told me many times that he doesn't like change. I'm from a military family and LOVE change. When we're together we usually have fun and he is so sweet to me. He sometimes has a bad temper and gets mad over little things which in turn makes me mad and I'm a very optimistic, happy person. He doesn't have any goals in life; he recently was promoted to a crew leader at his job as an electrician but then stepped down because he couldn't handle the stress. I know that I will not end up marrying him because we're just too different, the relationship is not sustainable. But the thing is, we've talked about marriage in the past when the relationship was better and I think he still has that in his mind for us. He had a really hard life; got over a drug addiction, lost both of his parents within a year of each other, his only family (his sister, her husband and kids) moved out of state, and he hates his job. I've been noticing a pattern of drinking when he has a hard day and I'm worried he might become addicted to that. I know I need to end it, but don't know how to go about doing it because to him it will seem like it's out of the blue. I don't want to add to the stress he's been going through because he always tells me that thinking of me makes his day better and how much he loves me, etc. I don't know what to do. Should I wait it out and see if it gets better or is it better to be fair to him and end it now even though I know it was crush him?That's the sad part, I don't feel like I love him as much as he loves me. I felt it the last time we were together, kissing him doesn't feel like anything and I felt weird. I tried talking to him about it, but he takes things really hard and would think I'm breaking up with him.One more thing: I don't think he would snap out of it too quickly; see there was an incident when I thought I was pregnant and he said he would try to find a better job so he could move closer, but never did. 1. He was a loner in school. He really had no friends and his family (his mother and his cat) really didn't care about him. He had no one, nothing. So he turned to school and buried himself in it. He came away with straight "A's" and a flawless high school record. He is really intelligent and has a leader quality that comes from his dad's side of the family. He ends up the leader whether he wants to or not because he is one by his nature. The most important thing to him are his friends because he was dieing of loneliness without anyone. He never wants to go through that again. He has a fear of being alone. 2. She loves to cook. Cooking is her passion and is easily offended by any slight distrust towards her or her cooking. She takes everything about her cooking personally. She is a slight leader in herself, but not the the extent #1 is. She is the perfect "right hand man". She is caring and compassionate and allows her emotions to get the best of her too often. Early in the book she learns she lost her absolute best friend. She's upset about it for the first two chapters or so. 3. He is a technical whiz. He knows how to make radios and read instumentation. He knows all of Morse Code. He is extremely reliable and "everyone's best friend". He has a charisma that makes you smile simply because he entered the room. He is comedic and is always cracking sarcastic or otherwise humours jokes. He's not afraid at poking fun at himself either. In many ways he's a clown, but, deep down, he can be very serious as well. Should #1 die or become an ineffective leader, he would quickly take over the responability and do a very good job at it. 4. He is even described from another character as having a "short fuse". He is the brawn but assumed not to be the brains. However, there is intelligence behind the strength, it's just hidden many times due to his "act first, think later" nature. Everytime he does something that is extremely regretable, like punching someone in the face, he freezes in place, his eyes are lost and become glazy, and he's just a shell of his former self for a few minutes before he snaps back to reality. He believes himself to be worthless and feels as though he is an outcast amongst the group. He thinks quite highly of the others however. Especially #1 and #3. 5. She, in a nutshell, is the "worried" girl. She is concerned for everyone's safety and becomes the nurse of the group. She is constantly worrying about events occuring or people getting injured. And should anyone become injured, she is right there insisting they let her look at the wound. She is caring, but feels misunderstood. She feels other people view her as a pest and not caring and it upsets her when people view her in such a way. She doesn't get many jokes and instead is just confused by them. 6. She feels like an outcast as well like #4. This is for a different reason though. She was never supposed to be with the others. Her father pulled strings to get her here. She doesn't belong. And, she knows also, which no one else does, that she is #1's half sister. She gets amnesia near the beginning of the novel and fights to get back her memory through much of the book. About 2/3 of the way through, she remembers it all. She is unsure of herself or what to say. This is mostly due to her feeling like an outsider. She tends to stay by herself or just stay silent most of the time if she can. She often feels awkward and out of place. All of these characters are main characters of the same book. They are all high school age. They already have names, but I would like to try to find names that are better fitting for them. Names that are symbolic (NOT religiously), or at least have meaning to them that is fitting. Any ideas for names would be appreciated. I believe it is because in the "New Health Care Plan" if it is implemented, there are plans to every few years check with people that are in the nursing homes to see if they would like to have assistance in ending their life! i don't know what i want to do for a career. i know i want something to do with medical? or legal stuff (lawyers)? i recently took a quiz about what jobs would be perfect for the person i am. it said a bunch of stuff like how i am a leader, good with people, enjoy fast pace, love interacting with others, spontaneous, act before i think, quick to answer even when im not even sure, improvise as i go along, think outloud, enjoy involvement in activities, easy to read, heart on my sleeve, never afraid of telling people what i think, empathetic, genuine, sometimes viewed over-emotional or too invlovded wit others to the point where it becomes personal, like to please people make sure they are happy, turst what is certain, like new ideas that can be applied toa situation, value whats real, use common sense, utilse skills instead of learning new ones, like thigns laid out for me to do instead of working them out myself, like decision to be made, dont like leavin things in limbo, like to know what im getting into before i commit, i like to focus on here and now, enjoy completeling projects, important for me to achive and succeed, i blieveing in working hard and playing later, like to set goals and work towards them..... thats all true i had my mom (who better to know me) and she agreed the example listed at the end of the quiz are as followed: actor, recruitment consultant, politician, marketing , pshychologist, religious minister, teacher, social worker, human recources manager, sales, lawyer and advertising... i was interested in being a lawyer but i hear it is very hard competition i am currently in high school i am the student who without studying for a test gets in the late 80s earlys 90s but with studying i get a 98 or 99 ... my gpa is ALWAYS between 90.6 to 93.7) so i dont know if i would make it in the competition beomcing a lawyer down the road in my education... are there any other careers you think would fit with me? and what about a registered nurse? more

Surely this man Muhammed who had been responsible of believers who, on his authority, believe in: 1. The miraculous birth of Jesus 2. That Jesus is the Messiah 3. That he gave life to the dead, by God's permission, and that he healed those born blind and the lepers by God's permission. Surely the Bible must have something to say about this great Leader of men who spoke so well of Jesus and his mother Mary? Solution: 1. There are a number of ways in which Moses was like Jesus, but unlike Muhammad: 1. Moses had no known tomb, but died on Mount Nebo (Deut. 34:6). 2. Moses came out of Egypt at the Exodus, and Jesus went to Egypt as a baby and returned. 3. Moses was brought up by his mother as a nurse in Pharaoh's household, and Jesus was brought up by Mary, but Muhammad was an orphan. Moses was saved as a baby in the rushes; Jesus was saved when God told Joseph to take him to Egypt. 4. Moses was transfigured on Mt. Sinai (Exodus 34:29) and Jesus was transfigured in Matthew 17:1-6. 5. Moses offered to take the sins of Israel on himself in Exodus 32:30-32; Jesus was sacrificed for the sins of mankind. Even at this level of argument there are more points of similarity between Jesus and Moses than there are between Muhammad and Moses. Not only that, but some of the points where Jesus seems to be different from Moses only appear because the Moslems have not considered the whole of the life of Jesus. For example, Jesus was rejected by his people and has not been accepted by them yet. But the time will come when they will look on him whom they have pierced (Zech. 12:10) and God will cleanse them (Ezek. 36:26-31). In Deuteronomy 18:18 God tells Moses to inform Israel that the prophet was to be from among their brethren, which means that he would have to be an Israelite. Moslems who dispute this assert that, as the Arabs are the brothers of the Jews, this refers to an Arab. However, there is no scriptural evidence to support this. The Arabs are never called the brethren of the Jews in the Bible. There are a few verses where Edom is described as the brother (singular) of Israel (e.g. Num. 20:14; Deut. 23:7; Amos 1:11), but the word brethren (plural) is never used. In any case, Muhammad is not a descendent of Edom (who joined the Jews in the second century BC), but of Ishmael, who is never referred to as the brother of Israel. The passage can only mean that the prophet like unto Moses was to be an Israelite. 3. To list the similarities and differences between Jesus, Muhammad and Moses is a rather inconclusive and man-made way of looking at Deuteronomy 18. Rather than humans making lists of ways that Muhammad is, or is not, like Moses, it is better to let the passage itself say in what way the prophet will be like Moses. This is given us in the next two verses: "And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him." (Deut. 18:21-22) The prophet would validate his message by some sign, either a miracle or a prediction of the future which he would predict or announce and which would then be fulfilled. There is no doubt that Jesus worked miracles; even the Qur'an admits this (e.g. Q 5:115). However, Muhammad never performed a miracle and the set of predictions claimed for him is singularly unimpressive (he is said to have predicted that his followers would win the battle of Badr - probably a method of encouraging them to fight more fiercely, and self fulfilling as one would never of heard of the prediction if the battle had been lost). The lack of signs from Muhammad is also commented upon in the Qur'an with words like: "They say: Why not a sign sent down to him from his Lord?" (Q 10:20; see also Q 6:109; Q 13:7; Q 17:59; Q 21:5,6). There is only one reason that the Qur'an would record passages like these, and that is because Muhammad never gave a prophecy or performed a miracle. 4. Moslems cannot have things both ways. Do our hospitals need reforming? And if so, medical or financial reforming? Do our doctors, nurses and other health care professionals need reforming? If so, in what way? I was in elementary school when I wrote it so it probably has some pretty bad/corny lines or phrases. Brothers Once upon a time there lived not a princess, or any human for that matter. There lived a wolf and his pack. The wolf’s name was Francis and he was the leader of a mighty group of other wolves at that point in time. One day Francis met an albino female who he just happened to fall in love with. Francis and the girl soon had pups. One was as white as his mother and the other was black as Francis had been. Francis could not take the chance of just one brother taking his place as pack leader once he passed on so he announced his idea to the wolves of the pack. The pack loved the idea and so the leaders’ words were made law. Once Francis and his mate had died the two brothers were made leaders of the pack. Andrew, the black one, stood proud beside his Albino brother, Cliff, as they took the stand. Cliff could never get along with Andrew so Cliff knew that his ironic brother would try to make stupid decisions in the packs journey to survival. One day when spring had made its way to the forest in which they lived the brothers’ first unbelievably hard decision came into view. What would they eat for the spring season? That was the question. Cliff said that the best two animals to eat would be the deer and the squirrels because of how much of the population consisted of them. Andrew thought differently, he thought that rabbits and field mice were the best because of how easy they were to catch. When Cliff and Andrew took there ideas to the rest of the pack and could not come up with a good decision the wolves came to a conclusion that Cliff and Andrew would fight to determine the best decision. Andrew knew he could win so he thought about making it more interesting. He announced his idea to the group “Who ever looses can go and live with the outsiders pack on the other side of the forest.” Andrew stated. Cliff agreed and then lined up to fight. Cliff lost with a blow to the head. He then left to live with the outsiders pack as planned. Cliff being once a leader was brought into the outsiders pack with little argument. He was made the outsiders leader. They listened to his words concerning the food they should eat and they lived carefree and happy lives till the end of spring. Andrews pack was a different story, they were starving. They had eaten up almost all of the rabbit and field mouse population in a few weeks. Andrew was to proud to eat any other animals in that point in time so his entire pack either left and went to fend for their selves or stayed and died. When Cliff found Andrew he was a bony mess. Cliff took Andrew into his pack, although Andrew had done him nothing but wrong, and nursed him back to health. Andrew never helped with making decisions or ruling a pack after that because of his foolishness. He lived like all other wolves of the pack, carefree and an outsider. His son will never get to be the mighty leader of a pack unlike Cliff’s who is destined to make his father proud. That was Andrew’s punishment for killing so many wolves with the tool of foolishness. He asked me to say something to you all. He asked me to tell you to not be a foolish wolf or you may end up killing your life. Don’t be like Andrew with his foolishness. I'm trying to decide which plot line i want to write about. What do you think of this one? Please be as honest as you want! Cassie Dawson is a popular, happy-go-lucky 14-year-old. One night, a group of friends sneak her out her to a house party where they all get drunk. Discomforted by how older boy, Keith, keeps looking at her, Cassie decides to leave the party early and walks home alone. As she is walking, she gets stalked by a drunken Keith who then rapes her. When Keith leaves, Cassie goes home to an empty house and takes a shower in an attempt to “clean herself of what just happened”. However, she doesn’t leave the shower for three days. She is diagnosed with PTSD and her mother decides to send her to Hyberry Mental Hospital in the Adolescent ward. The story then follows Cassie through her seven months at Hyberry. At first she hates Hyberry – she complains that she gets no privacy from the nurses and gets bullied by the “crazy” other patients, especially the pretty but bulimic gang leader Janie Redgrave. Only her room-mate, the young schizophrenic Erica will talk to Cassie. However, Cassie quickly becomes charmed with the “dangerously aloof” rebel Will (who we later find out is an orphan with ODD and Bipolar 1). Soon enough, Will teaches Cassie to refuse medication and therapy. Eventually Cassie becomes popular with the other teenagers now that she is rebelling like the rest of them. The only person not friends with Cassie is Janie, who is resentful of Cassie popularity. Later in the book Cassie walks in on Janie on a purge (she had stolen food after the weekly supervised trip to town) and convinces Janie to stop, comforting her and seeing the depressed, anxious girl Janie really is instead of her hard façade. This makes Cassie reflect on her own hard shell. The two then become mates. Despite Cassie’s popularity within the Hospital, she is plagued with flashbacks and nightmares of Keith, to the point where she becomes an insomniac. One night, (Will is in his “manic-mode”) her and Will start running around the hospital, breaking into the kitchen and art therapy room. There, the two starts kissing, but Cassie breaks it off when she gets a flashback of Keith. Cassie runs back to her ward where she has a panic attack and breaks down in hysterics. This wakes up the warden causing Will to run away, and Cassie is put for the first time in the restraining room with padded walls. One day she sees Erica packing. Erica tells Cassie that she has finally been discharged and she is going back home. Angry that Erica is leaving, Cassie tells Erica that she is crazy and belongs here in Hyberry. Erica then tells Cassie that she doesn’t belong here, neither does Cassie, and Cassie is stupid that she is giving into the peer pressure of rebelling instead of getting better and being free. Cassie is then called into see her therapist, Dr Barbara Owens. Touched by what Erica had said, Cassie tells Dr Owens about her constant nightmares and the paranoia that Keith is still around. Dr Owens tells Cassie that she is pleased she has finally opened up and is accepting therapy, and that it’ll be easier now Will is not around; after last nights vandalism, Will has been moved to a different ward. Distraught, Cassie runs out of therapy and into the garden where she breaks down in sobs and jumps in the pond (reflect on the 3 days in the shower). As the months pass on, Cassie stops rebelling and stars taking her medication. Without Will to influence her, she begins to recover. The night before Cassie is discharged; she takes one final look at the hospital and a walk in the garden. There, she bumps into Will. Overjoyed, she attempts to kiss him again but he pushes her away. Will is resentful that Cassie is being discarded and he has been “trapped in here since he was 8”. He smacks Cassie, saying that she is “crazy” and “hopeless, like the rest of us” and starts re-capping the story about her rape, making Cassie crawl in a ball and cry. But then Cassie verbally attacks Will, saying he has nothing to live for and “nobody loves you – I don’t love you!” causing Will to have a breakdown and attempt to drown himself in the pond. But Cassie pulls him out and the two lay in the garden until sunrise. When will wakes up, he asks Cassie if she will come and visit him in Hyberry but she tells him that he’ll come and visit her, when he gets out of Hyberry and is free. After he tells her that “Hyberry is [his] only home” she promises him that he can live with her and her mother. They have one final kiss.After the night where Will and Cassie break into the Kitchen and Art room, and Erica gets discharged, Cassie begins to accept therapy and takes her meds. Cassie is visited by her parents. Her parents tell Cassie that they are taking her out of the Hospital for the weekend to celebrate Christmas. Cassie is excited that she won't be stuck in Hyberry for Christmas, and says goodbye to all her friends. When she gets home, she decides to walk around town and see if her friends are at the park as normal. When she gets to the park she finds it's empty covered in snow - but then she sees Keith. She starts hyperventilating at seeing him. Keith comes up to Cassie and says that everyone knows she went to the "loony bin" because she lied about him raping her, saying that he did not hurt her and that she asked for it. Angry about "all the shit" Cassie has put him through by speaking about the rape, Kieth attempts to rape her again. But this time Cassie fights him off by kicking him in the nuts.Leaving Keith crumpled in pain in the snow, Cassie adrenalin rush dies down and she runs back home to call her therapist. Dr Owens demands that Cassie be returned to Hyberry immediately to re-begin therapy. Cassie thus spends Christmas with Janie and her mother in the ward. more

Resolved Question: Istn't it a good thing that Canadians in general are good natured?

In the capital of Canada, in Ottawa, the last days have been a big turmoil.. public transport in the whole of Canada's capital city, Ottawa, have gone on strike.. they want more paid sick leave, they want to choose their own routs they prefer, they want the bus drivers who have seniority to be able to choose their own shifts. also just work short shifts.. This means for students.. who write exams before Christmas, at least for some of them.. to hire a car... One female student hired a car for $ 500 for 9 days so she can get to Uni and write her exams.. Students don't have that much money.. There are single mothers who don't own a car.. and what if someone needs to go to hospital and is not quite in need of an ambulance but has a bad cut? How are they going to get there? No transport and the taxi service is booked to the hilt.. nobody can get a booking.. they have enough people waiting in queue and those who manage to get the promise a taxi will be available will have to wait for 2 hours.. as there are thousands of stranded people out there looking for alternative ways to get to work or to uni...and to get a taxi every day.. that is expensive.. about $60 if one lives like me approx 14 miles out of downtown but we are part of the capital...that I can't afford to pay.. The taxi drivers already make good money. A trained nurse who went to University and is an RN approximately earns $ 45.000 here in Ottawa.. A bus driver is an unskilled worker. he doesn't even need a high school dipoloma.. and they earn more than a nurse.. they get approx. $50.000 or $60.000 a year and benefits and a lot of sick leave.. I am usually a kind person who always says good morning and thank you to bus drivers, but as 98 % of all Ottawa bus drivers are on the side of the Union, i don't think I will ever be very polite to any ottawa bus driver again.. If I get somewhere I won't say thank you or please.. They don't deserve it.. People who leave anywhere in walking distance leave their home 2.5 hours early to walk to work in minus 16 degrees celsius. that's darn cold and with snow which was quite high yesterday.. The leader of the union already said..''This strike will take a long time'' I guess that means.. no bus services at all until the new Year'' . If they lived in the USA or elsewhere.. some people of the public who rely on public transport would get enraged enough to take a pot shot at the bloody union leader and at the bus drivers.. if they are not giving up their strike. this costs the city millions if they let the drivers with seniority choose their own schedule and only work the hours they want and drive the routes they want.. A nurse can't decide what shift she likes to work.. and she can't say.. Next week I want to work just for 4 hours all week long and I want to work at this or that long term care home or retirement home because that's were friends of mine work.. so I decide where I will work... People here are desperate.. the roads are clogged with traffic into downtown.. My family we don't have a car because we can't afford one.. and to car pool that works sometimes.. today and tomorow my husband gets a ride downtown .. because a lady who works at the supreme court in downtown Ottawa .. her husband doesn't need his van.. so my husband registered for carpooling.. and she lives nearby and phoned him.. but what happens if this strike really goes on until the new year.. Don't we, Ottawa citizens have a right to be mad at the union leader and at the bus drivers for their ridiculous demands and this all at a time when it's freezing outside and people have to get to work or lose their job? They get paid . the bus drivers get paid $14 per hour.. whilst on strike. when some desperate woman.. walks for 2.5 hours into downtown in freezing weather to get to a job that pays her $ 10 an hour.. Am I not entitled to feel angry at the drivers and the union and that in future I am not going to be polite to a driver anymore.. knowing what they put us through.. I won't be impolite.. but if i talk to them I will never use the words ''Please '' or ''thank you again'' to Ottawa bus drivers like I used to do. they really dont' deserve it. Or does anyone see it in a different way... nice for the Ottawa school kids who have to rely on buses.. they don't have to go to school. their Christmas vacation has already started.. more

Im at a point in my life where I need to make a career choice instead of just a job choice. I love caring for all people, helping young mothers( I am one myself), talking on the phone, working on the computer. I have my Substitute Teacher Certificate, Early Childhood Education Credentials, Certified in CPR & First Aid, Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate, One Year of College completed, almost 9 months of childcare experience, I was a manager at Burger King, and a team leader at McDonalds. So I have a few things under my belt. I completed all by the age of 23. Im unhappy now because the only jobs that I can get with these Certificates pay anywhere between $7.00-$9.00 and I have twin 3 yr. olds to raise. Oh and I am a single mother if I didnt mention that. I want my daughters to have a good role model and I feel that I am not that yet b/c I dont have a good enough job. I want to find a career to pursue so that I will know what to go back to school for. Essay is about volunteer work, leadership skills & my character. This essay is to get in2 a club at my school. Essay doesn't include the intro or conclu. I would like it if u could tell me what u didn't like about the essay & what I need to inprove it. I have served the (my schools name) community throughout my high school career and even before. During my years in (schools name) I participate in Safe Halloween by helping SADD sell mock tails to help raise money for the Make A Wish Foundation. Since there is a shortage of blood throughout the country, the Interact Club held their bi annual blood drive to try and promote people to give blood. In that event I helped give out food and drinks to individuals who had just donated blood. When the local fire department had their annual safety event I contributed by heading a station for the Interact Club where I helped children make Photo ID booklets which included their name, address, phone number, photo, age, height etc. incase they ever got lost or abducted their parents would have this booklet to give to the police to help them in their search. As the New Year rolled around SADD knew that many people would be celebrating the New Year. We decided to make red ribbons that stated Think before you act, do not drink and drive” and put them on the students cars in the parking lot to remind them to think before they get behind the wheel. I also joined the Interact Act club in visiting a local nursing home. I would help the seniors their make crafts and also talk to them. Being an organized, responsible and reliable person is very important in order to be a good leader. When I started babysitting for two young girl ages seven and nine I did not think it would be that difficult. I did not realize however, how much they trusted and depended on me. When one of the girls was having problems with others in school she came to me and asked me for advice about what she should do. She trusted me to lead her in the right direction. I have also taken on a leadership role in my job. As someone who has been there for almost a year I am dependable on to show new employees what to do and help them get comfortable with their job responsibilities. I am a person who upholds morals by not drinking, doing drugs, or participating in violence. I am a person who people confide in to listen their problems and I try and help them in any way I can. more
