Resolved Question: What has happened to GREAT Britain?

What has happened to GREAT Britain Once I knew Britain as Great Britain, GB, which of course meant that in abbreviation, now GB is widely used by people as GODFORSAKEN Britain, still GB but mean has changed a lot. Does anyone know the reason for this name change? Of course we have LOCO Governments, one after another now, local authorities have gone down the drain pipes also, but who are to blame for that? Rulers of this once mighty land chase dreams of direct pipeline of OIL from the Middle East, well that’s what they thought after killing Saddam, then they went to Afghanistan to gain direct control over the drugs trade, instead of the drugs cartels. They want to go to Iran now and try and get OIL from there, can we know what excuses will we hear next to invade another country? Why are our good leaders killing millions of Innocent people worldwide and making our streets unsafe for us, in the name of what and in aid of what. Our educated local authority councillors, most of whom do not have a car, try to make pavements so wide, 2 buses next to each other can drive on those, while making our roads so narrow that we have single lane traffic buildups all the time, making driving a living hell for the drivers, not to mention the queues. The same authorities flaunt all laws about green belt areas and give consent to big chain stores to open up their outlets anyplace they choose. All the small towns have now become ghost towns, all the public sucked into this out of town supermarkets and shopping malls. The general excuse is that these stores will each create about 100 new jobs, but what about the thousands of small family run businesses they are killing and making all the people jobless. Any small shopping area that is thriving, these supermarkets quickly see that they fail by offering sweeteners to the relevant authorities, and these authorities act quickly also, by placing yellow lines, making big pavements or making bus lanes there so shoppers find it difficult to reach these shops or cant park anywhere. One may find that the houses that have big driveways in their houses, which can easily house 3 to 4 cars parked side by side, additional street parking is provided to them, making the roads very narrow for the traffic that use them, the examples of this can be seen all over the country, not specified to any one are of our country. How do we EDUCATE the Governments and these EDUCATED Councillors before we do indeed adopt the name GODFORSAKEN BRITAIN permanently? more

Resolved Question: Should the EU control everything?

I think yes. Home schooling should be illegal and private schools abolished to ensure children get a good education. Water should be fluoridated and vaccinations should be compulsory; refusal to be vaccinated will result in life imprisonment. Also the chip implants (the ones that go in your hand) sound like a good idea because with them fraud and identity theft will be wiped out. All business should be EU owned and the EU should be allowed to listen to our phone calls, read emails, texts and instant message conversations. Tobacco, alcohol and unhealthy foods should be outlawed and we should all live on an EU approved diet. Also I think ALL homes should be installed with CCTV and anyone who refuses should be arrested on the spot! Guns should be outlawed and only the leaders in Brussels should own guns. Religion should be banned and atheism should be forced and places of worship demolished; religious books burned and religious statues, works of art, jewellery destroyed. What do you all think? I think all these will make the EU a happier, healthier place to live; safer too! more

Resolved Question: Matt Damon box office leader, what do u think about it?

Matt Damon is the luckiest actor at box office. Cast Matt Damon in your film, and he will give you a better return than any other actor. from Forbes Matt Damon's agent no doubt sat up and paid attention yesterday morning when Forbes, the business magazine, pronounced his client to be a very particular sort of top movie star - the one who provides the best return on the studios' investment. That does not make him Hollywood's top celebrity - that honour, Forbes decided a couple of months ago, belonged to Brad Pitt, both for his on-screen successes and the tsunami of media coverage surrounding his marriage to Angelina Jolie. . A Matt Damon film, the magazine reported, will make back an average of $29 (£15) for every dollar the star is paid. That's roughly twice as much as Cruise or Tom Hanks. Pitt, who finished second on the Forbes list, will earn back about 24 times as much as he gets paid. more

Resolved Question: Would this make a good book ?

I came up with a story about a large ship, a modern state of the art ship with touch screen and motion detector facilities everywhere , from water basins, toilets to vending machines and virtual stores - the ship has it all, 8 giant cinemea screens , 4 large swimming pools, a tennis court etc etc A couple on honeymoon, a multi millionaire business tycoon, a well respected novelist, an up and coming female pop artist and an ex heavy weight boxing champion fallen from grace, for alleged ties to the mafia underworld and a retired EX FBI Agent - are all on this ship. All these ppl are in Section 2A of this colosus ship. Little do they know, that there is also another individual aboard the ship. Along with this individual, are 30 hardcore fundamentalist followers - of the Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami, which translates into English as 'Islamic Struggle Movement' - the mastermind and leader of the group, an estranged half american-half arabic ex banker turned fundamenlist has already placed 6 detonation devices abaord the ship, in various places. He takes over the ship once his men execute the captain and his crew as well as some highly decorated UN delegates, and hijacks the ship. Only a few ppl aboard the ship realise what has happened, and the ring leader 'Abdul Hussain' speaks live online transmitting to every major news channel and network in europe and the US, insisting the ship is 'in their hands' and he has 'demands'. As the occupants of section 2A of the ship are FIRST to hear the 'gunshots' and 'screams' from the section above, Jason Briggs ex heavy weight champion of the world climbs the steps and opens the door to see 4 men wearing boiler suits and carrying AK-47's. Something obviously doesn't add up - and they notice Jason 'Sugar' Briggs, and open fire - he slams the door , turns the door hatch shut and darts back down the others to inform them of the incident. Abdullah hussain eventualy gets complete control of the ship but nto the occupants of section 2A , who have now become 'renegades' aboard the vessel. And thast the idea of a story im going to write, i hope its gonna be fun...i'll need to keep the balance between character development and plot right, dont wanna produce a master piece just a really good gripping story. any extra ideas you think i could add , any twists or other elements to this story ? waht do u make of it so far - has it got potential to become a serous page turner ? would you read this book ? more

Resolved Question: What do you Think of the Royal Mail's Continuing Strikes?

Do you hope that all the employees and union leaders perpetrating this strike lose all the business and customers that their very jobs reply on, that the Royal Mail ends up losing billions and goes into receivership/administration and then closes down, making redundant all the employees that started it in the first place? Resolved Question: How can I get out of a career rut and feel good about myself?

I have to admit that I was not a bright pupil at school and was very much a late developer in every sense. I got terrible grades at school and had to work really hard to make up for it in my final two years at school where I got grades good enough to win me a place to study Politics at University. I really blossomed academically at University. I found that I become more disciplined and organized about my studies and when I finished my degree, I got a 2:1 BA Hons degree with distinction for the best dissertation. I exceeded both my own expectations and others. After this I spent some time pondering what I would be doing. I applied for a large number of graduate management positions but did not get one single interview for them so I gave up and instead decided to undertake a Masters degree in business hoping that it would boost my career credentials. After I completed the course, I applied for some more graduate management positions but despite the MSc, I still didn’t get a single interview. Since I finished my Masters I have plodded along doing whatever job I could get an interview for, and as a result have 4/5 years work experience but my CV does not look good. I have been unable to recoup the money I invested in my education as the experts all say that graduates earn more. Well, I can testify that it is not true. I worked for a brief time in my Dad’s accountancy business but had to wind that up when he passed away. I then worked in the public sector providing advisory services to small business owners, and then I worked as a tele-marketer for a real estate company for two years. I am currently working overseas in another country after being offered a job through a friend. Although that is helping financially, I am still doing a random job that I am not interested in, and am now very scared for the future, especially as I now have a 7 month old daughter. The only plus point I can see is that wherever I have worked, I have gelled very well with my co-workers and have been professional and efficient in my work. I am feeling depressed and extremely stressed. I don’t know if I have made bad career choices or not but the reality is that my education has not really got me anywhere far. I don’t know if I should re-train or not for another profession that would give me a specific job. Add to that, as the sole bread winner and leader in my family, a lot of responsibility and pressure lies on my shoulders and I feel that I am going to let my family down. Any insight, advice or words of wisdom for me from anybody else who has found themselves in a similar situation? more

Resolved Question: Do you honestly think the conservatives are the way to go?

Ok, so I know this government isn't doing a fantastic job at the movement, but needless to say no government is going to popular at this point in time. I'm only 16, and have lived all of my memorable life under a labour goverment, and the impression I have of David Cameron is he is an upper class know it all, who is out to benefit merely his self and the people around him. I think this whole business with the emails is ridiculous, especially when everyday in parliament the conservatives act like a bunch of 5 year olds criticizing, scrutinizing and making fun out of any action the labour government take. Gordon Brown may not be a fantastic leader, but he's certainly better than Cameron in my eyes. What do you think?Well I don't think it's ever going to be $50 owing to the fact that our currency is sterling, not dollars. Not suggesting that 5 year olds don't have something to be upset about, but these are grown men, supposedly respectable politicians. Not 5 year olds.I never suggested that a conservative government would be bad, just that my impression of the way that David Cameron handles himself as a politician is much worse than Gordon Brown.Perhaps someone can tell me though, because I don't know. What would the conservatives do different to help the economy?I take your point James, however, 'so far Brown has failed to save Britain from the recession' Well the majority of the world are in recession at the moment, so ill bring you back to my earlier point, what would Cameron do different? That leaders such Obama, Merkey, Sarkozy, and the Japanese arn't doing. Do the conservatives no better than the rest of the world? Because the last time I checked they were against physical stimulus, whilst, at the very least, Obama, along with Brown is pushing the G20 for it, and they seem to be going along with it.Fair point Rebekah B, and I agree with you. I'm doing the IB, but had I done A levels I would have loved to do Politics. more

Resolved Question: Could you please check my writing?

Hi:) I have already completed my coursework and i just need someone to correct my grammar mistakes. Could you be so kind and help me? I need to finish it ASAP :( Strategies for raising achievement The team leader use a selection of strategies and approaches for rising achievements. These include: •encouraging the team members to getting know about them as individuals. • Being a good role model and having the ability to do most or all of the team jobs if it is required • helping to achieve targets and keep on schedule • taking part in agreeing, setting targets and objectives •making sure that the reward system is adequate to the effort put to achieve objectives •rotating work within the team to keep members of the team motivated and interested. •identifying the development which is required for the team members •Finding out factors which are holding back achievements and making sure that they can be fixed Planning Managers play very important role in the team in completing team objectives. Teams are on the front line troops that enable managers to achieve business objectives. Each plan shows the various steps and activities that are required to achieve objectives. At top level within business there will be a plan set in time period of three to five years. Good plan helps team members to know how their effort contribute to the achievement and where they are going. Scheduling of work A schedule is an action plan setting out how tasks and all duties are located in time. Supervisors play an important role in monitoring this because if the business sticks to the schedule everything would be run smoothly and would be done on time. Form time to time the supervisors may need to innervate, when something goes wrong. For example the team responsible for displaying goods in supermarkets may have special schedule for setting out how to displays products and in what localizations. more

Resolved Question: Atheists, did 'Full Armour of God' sum it up perfectly, or am I tripping?

The following is an answer by 'Full Armor of God' to a question I also answered. I saw that it was hidden due to its low rating. As an atheist myself, I couldn't understand why. It's probably the most accurate answer I've ever read on the subject, from a theist. Here it is: Concerning atheist attacks on Theism Some might think that atheists would be content with simply not believing in God and leave the theists to themselves. After all, if God doesn't exist then what's the big deal? Why not let the theists believe in God the way a child believes in the tooth fairy? To the atheist, neither exists. So why bother? Even though many atheists don't care if people believe in God or not, others feel obligated to fight what I have often heard them label as "oppressive religious bigotry." To this end, many of them are active in politics, social groups, the internet, and even use lawsuits to change society into a more atheistic temperament. They often consider Christians as a threat to freedom, common sense, and a good life. Consider this quote I found on an atheist web site at atheists.org. "We are constantly being overrun by people trying to get their ticket to Heaven at our expense, and if we don’t stand up and be counted we will lose the very freedom we hold most dear; freedom of thought..." This kind of statement is quite common in atheist circles. It is inflammatory, illogical, and paranoid. Many atheists I've spoken to tell me that I cannot think logically, that I am deluded, and that I believe in myths. They tell me that I am bound by foolish antiquated beliefs and need to abandon my religious bigotry and become a 'free thinker' like them. In other words, they don't want me to think the way I do. Additionally, after reading much atheist material and debating with them over the internet, I've discovered that they often use mockery of God, religious leaders, and the Bible as weapons to further their agenda. This isn't the case with all atheists, as I have had very good conversations with some of them, but ridiculing attitudes are surprisingly prevalent and strong. Character assassination, half-truths, and out-of-context Bible quotes are typical tools used by many of them in attempts to make Christianity look bad. Now, I am not trying to dismantle the atheist position with a generic character attack aimed at them. I am only making on observation. In the majority of my dealings with atheists, I have encountered great arrogance, rudeness, and condescension. Atheists have told me that religion is only a giant con-game designed to get peoples' money, that clergymen are in business for themselves, and that I was mentally ill for believing in God. Following are some of their comments: "I do not want to be bound to archaic mythologies. This is the 20th century." "Christianity is an oppressive system used to control and manipulate people." "Logic demands that religion be proven wrong." "Christians should all be in mental wards." "We are free thinkers and not bound by outdated and oppressive myths." "Christians are sycophantic sheep." Atheists often imply that reason is best used by them and not by Christians who, many say, need psychological help for believing in God. This condescending attitude is a fountain for derogatory comments. I have been called stupid, absurd, illogical, and a slave to my religion. I get the impression from atheists that they are so convinced they have the truth that no other options are available to them and that if you don't agree with them, you're not smart. Of course, they will deny this and say I am being ridiculous, but this is what I have observed -- right or wrong. Consider some of the terms the atheists use to describe themselves: "Free thinkers," "Free from religion," "Rational," etc. They use these self-descriptive terms in juxtaposition to statements of Christians as religious bigots, losers, and brainwashers. On the atheist.org website I read, "Critical thinking, objectivity, scientific methodology, and peer review are all hallmarks of Atheism. Submission, fear, credulity, and insupportable claims are the hallmarks of religious belief." When I read statements like this I can't help but wonder which religion they are referring to. It can't be Christianity because the Bible teaches us to love God and love our fellow man. It teaches that the fear of the Lord is wisdom, that truthfulness is a way of life, and that eyewitness accounts of the miraculous is one of the evidences for its validity. Of course, the atheist would argue with all of this because he must, in spite of the facts. But still, if an atheist wants to attack religion in general and Christianity specifically, it should, at least, do so objectively. But this doesn't seem to be the hallmark of the atheistic movement; at least not from what I've seen so far. Consider the following statements from Atheists. "Godism is consistent with crime, cruelty, envy, hatred, malice, and uncharitaConsider the following statements from Atheists. "Godism is consistent with crime, cruelty, envy, hatred, malice, and uncharitableness." "As long as religious purposes are served, ethics, inquiry and reason are abandoned." Are these the statements of tolerance, impartiality, truth, and sound judgment? Not at all. It seems to me that if the atheists who authored the above quotes we It ended there. I don't know why, but I agree on the most part, and I'm an atheist myself. Thoughts?Well there was a source given, so I'd conclude some information came from there. What extent of it came from the source provided, who knows? All I know is that this answer seemed pretty much right on. Yes it fails to mention how theists act similarly sometimes, but surely to point that out is simply tit-for-tat, plus the case in point is about atheist-on-theist acts, not vice-versa. more

Resolved Question: Why do people still think that ties and suits are smart?

The tie is a useless and pointless article. Suits are considered smart. Smart casual is without a matching suit. When will the world discard this notion that suits are the top image? Conformity, huh, that doesn't make someone better. The smart people think outside of the circle and yet they become bound by dressing within the circle. Smart thinking and dressing to me is to be clean and to wear what you feel comfortable in. My business has no dress code, just a human approach code. Judge people by there ability and empathy with humanity, not there slavish desire to have there mind ruled by quaint old fashioned business leaders who dare not rock the boat. I will never wear a tie or suit again. That makes me feel so happy, it frees my mind, Nobody can tell me what to wear and if they want to look down on me, that is there problem. more
