Open Question: How can I overcome job-hunt blues, and find my perfect job (or at least one that I don't hate!)?
I am 27, and last year, I took a sabbatical leave from a well-paid business consultant / project manager job in London, and went traveling to have a break from it all (it made me miserable) and to consider what I wanted from my life/career. The only decision I came to was that I definitely didn't want to continue in that line of work- it was too dry, cut-throat and corporate for me and as I said, made me miserable (I am a bit of a free spirit, very chilled out, care about people and would rather work for enjoyment than sell my soul for money). So when I got back, I decided to only apply for jobs that sounded interesting, rewarding and enjoyable. I have enviable skills in communications, client service, project management, am confident, efficient, honest and hardworking, friendly, proactive (sorry to sound so big-headed!!) and I only ever apply for jobs that I truly believe I will be great at. However, I've now spent 4 months applying to loads and loads of various jobs each week (including personal carer, project management within the charity sector, team building assistant, events management, fundraising, craft workshop assistant to give some examples of the level of variety!) whilst struggling through financially doing 1 shift a week at a local bar, and have had a distinct lack of interest. I'm generally going for much more junior positions than I was doing before, but ones that will still make good use of my skills. I just want a job that I like! Do people think I'm asking too much? I'm usually a happy and positive person, but this is really getting me down. My confidence in myself is becoming weaker, and I'm now so desperate for money that I'm scared that it's all coming across in my applications. I don't want to see friends because I'm feeling like a failure, and that makes me even more miserable because I love seeing them. Feeling really low. Any advice for me? How can I get a foot in the (any!) door? How can I come across as enthusiastic instead of desperate? Where can I find interesting jobs that don't involve giving up life outside the office? Any tips on boosting motivation for keeping up with job applications? Thanks to anyone who wants to help! moreOpen Question: Playing rec football?
Okay, so I'm 14 and I'm 5'4, I weigh 117. Since I'm lighter I can play on a 12-13 football team, so I tried out and made it. In defensive tryouts they put me as defensive tackle and I made some good stops when they ran the ball my way. I think that my build is better for a defensive end though if they put me on the line. Any thoughts or tips? moreVoting Question: How long does it take to dig a 5 acre lake with a regular tractor?
The lake that me and my team are building is for a family is 5 football fields. I do this work all the time, but how ever I never dug a 5 acre lake with a regular sized tractor. They want the deepest to be 7 feet deep (Not the whole lake thought). I do have other tractors, but we have so many people wanting us to dig lakes and ponds so I don't know if we will have all the tractors for this lake. I don't mind if it takes a year or two at the most. But I need a *Best Answer* about this because they want to know how long it would take. I am not a big company but is getting big at the moment. So my cost is cheap and they don't want anyone to do it but me and my team so they are willing to wait a year and a half at the most. TIPS: I will be digging it 5 to 6 days a week. moreResolved Question: Madden 2010: Created team stadium problem?
I decided that I wanted to more an already existing franchise (Lions) instead of making one in the sense that there would be copies in the game. I took the lions and moved them to springfield and built a stadium. However, I cannot make the stadium or add more seats and I was wondering if there's any tips of whatever I can do to make my stadium bigger than 60K moreVoting Question: How to run longer and faster?
I have to shave a minute off of my two mile run time in order to make my high school soccer team. I've been working on my two mile time for what seems like FOREVER. I recently was informed by my mother than I'm joining the cross country team (3 miles at the meets). I'm on vacation (but still able to work out here) and have to sign up as soon as I get back (on monday). I'm pretty slim so I don't have to lose any weight. I just needs some tips or workouts to help me get better FAST. 10 pts?? thanks :) (I jogged a mile today as a starter so I can work from there) moreResolved Question: Any tips for an upcoming freshman?
So im really nervous about becoming a freshman this year cuz most of my friends are goin 2 a different high skool and im goin 2 this new high skool they built 2 years ago. So does any1 have any advice/tips?....please be honest!! plus does any1 have any advice/tips 4 tryouts (this year im trying out 4 the volleyball team)....thxs!!!! :) srry if this is in the wrong category moreResolved Question: How to build up stamina and endurance after LONG break?
story time... i'm going to be a sophomore. 1st grade through 8th grade i played sports and i was good at them. i had always been a 'big' kid and never a good runner, but i was strong and i was able to compete very well. a little over a year ago... i developed an eating disorder. my athletic performance was greatly and quickly affected and i lost all stamina and endurance i had.. i was completely malnourished.. and i went out for the soccer team for my school this year (october) but i couldnt really even run without fainting or feeling as if i was going to die. this winter, i went away to inpatient treatment for my anorexia. i was there for three months and came back the beginning of this year. i am now in recovery and have been in recovery for a few months. i am properly nourished and everything, but i haven't exercised in just under a year.. and i mean that. i have recently begun some biking (nothing intense, 2 - 4 mile leisurely rides to my corner store and back) and a little bit of weight lifting (also nothing intense, just a little bowflex, and a few things with some 8 lb hand weights). i also have been doing a few sit ups and push ups. i am SO out of shape.. and if i were to try to run a mile i don't know if i'd be able to. my goal is to feel physically and mentally ready to try out for my school basketball team this winter. are there any tips that can improve my stamina and endurance without necessarily going out for a run? i will run eventually, but if i could improve stamina and endurance a little before then, thatd be great. thanks for any and all help, its very much appreciated! moreVoting Question: How could I look older?
So I'm a 17 year old boy about to begin his senior year at high school, but people constantly assume that I'm just about to enter high school. Mostly this is due to my stature, as I'm only between 5' 8" - 5' 9", but I feel like I'm always going to look like a 12 year old. It would be really awesome if anyone had some tips to looking about my age. I even grew out some facial hair to see if it would help, and it did to an extent, but I could still use just a little more. I have a basic athletic build (I'm on the swim team), and defined features and bone structures of an adult, but those factors seem to generally be ignored when someone is trying to judge my age. Maybe some advice on looking taller? Maybe more masculine? Just anything would help. Thanks for your time! moreResolved Question: Pokemon Soul Silver Team Building help?
This is for all you guys out there who are good with team building. : D For all the years I've played pokemon, i haven't really worried about what my team consists of, just as long as they're at a strong enough level to defeat whoever i'm battling. lately though i've been worried about my team, it's hardly balanced and i can't think of any solution to balance it. right now i'm currently at the 3rd gym [morty, ghost/psychic pokemon] and i can't beat him. so i need help building a better team! haha. my lineup consists of: Level 21 Vulpix, Docile nature Level 32 Chikorita, Lax nature Level 22 Mareep, Lax nature Level 24 Pidgeotto, Rash nature i have 2 more spots open, and i'm open to switching anyone around/spending $ on TMs. the only thing that i won't do is evolve my chikorita & mareep [those are probably half the problems], due to the fact that i don't like their next evolutions. :/ that's really weird, i know. any help/tips would be great, i'm not looking for criticism, just some support with bettering my team. thank you♥! moreVoting Question: How can i start game development with an army men game i have in mind?
Im looking for a team or a program that can get me started with my idea of Army Men IV. Is there any suggestions tips or advice you can give me for what im trying to obtain here? Because im trying to bring army men back to life and look at army men right now. Its fucked up like shit! I dont even know who owns the story anymore! Story After Sarge deafeated Lord Malice he was so sad and lonely and had only months left before he ran out of recources. He then went to the bodies of his fallen heroes and green men and brought them back to the labrotory from which he killed malice. He then took their DNA from them and took their brains and placed them in a machine that duplicates men. Sarge then re built his fallen men and then they slowly regan automaticly stitch themselves up from Grim, think, hoover, and the other heroes.(including viki) Sarge had then suprisingly emsassed exactly 500 green soldiers and all together they build tanks jeeps and vehicles to destroy remenant tan bases outposts and remains of tan forces to burn to the ground. Thats the storyline. Game can be a third person shooter with good graphics and i will bring back the old weapons and put the game in place on how it should be. This leads the game to Army men the greens revenge. Basiclly you will be focusing on a third person shooter and rts built in one similar to army men rts. and when your units are build you will be able to jump to the battle scenes up close and either watch or control a unit squad. There will be a barracks and there will be places to rebuild your units and squads. This mostly is a game to capture and use the tan and take them prisoner. So leaving the game to a 3rd person shooter and rts built in one. if all goes well with sending me files i will lead this game to a free multiplayer download with free 5 missions and when this games comes out it will be absolutley free. moreResolved Question: SOME QUESTIONS ABOUT FOOTBALL TRYOUTS?

Some people are fantastic to play with, others not so much. I was just playing "Shanty Town" demo level and the person I was playing with was Sheva (the girl) and they raced up the stairs to the chainsaw dude cutscene without opening the locked door for me first and they were dying and I couldn't get out to save them?? Or is there another way out if your partner doesnt open it for you? (this is after you climb to the third floor of the building and help her jump to the adjacent rooftop). Also just before you help her jump across the rooftop, one person I played with shot something on the roof that gave us something? I tried it myself, there is some blue crystal or something on the roof you can shoot and it does something to your health bar or something? Does anyone have any other tips for playing co-op online? I can get through to the boss (provided the person I'm playing with is semi-competent at least) of both demo levels (executioner and chainsaw guy) but haven't killed them yet. I already know about sharing items, CIRCLE function (ie rescuing team mate, saying thanks, c'mon etc) smashing barrels, boxes, fruit etc for items. What does collecting gold do? Hey, I as wondering... For a while now I have wanted to build an MMORPG. Or an MMO. Or MORPG. Or RPG. You get the point. I've heard of many creators to build an MMORPG. Such as Realm Crafter, Eclipse, ETC. I'd like to get a FREE MMORPG creator, preferably 3D. But I saw some screenshots of what Eclipse is like, and it seems awesome. And you can do alot of things with it, so... I want to try it. But I wanted to know... Is it free? Are there any costs to upgrade it or anything? Does it place any viruses or anything? Oh, and would it be possible for more than one person to work on it? If so, then would it be possible to do it at the same time? How many people can play the game? Is it possible to sell the game you make, make money, ETC.? Rather than not even technicly owning your game? Also, if you CAN work on Eclipse with a team, would anyone like to help with it? Any other information on Eclipse... Advice, tips, etc... would be greatly appreciated! moreResolved Question: How to increase running stamina? tips and advice?
I'm a pretty fast runner (not on teams or anything, just with friends and usual activity) but I get tired fast, and lately when I run. I can feel myself being like weighed down, like I think to myself, what's going on? I know I can go faster! But I just can't manage to go faster. So, I want advice, on how to build up my stamina, run longer, faster, and yeah. I also need help with my breathing, I get out of breath so fast, its rediculous. I would like to benefit from running by reaching my goals of running faster and longer, and also toning up my body more. Any advice I could get, professional or just anyone who had something that worked for them. Thabks in advance and I hope to hear from you guys soon!If your going to advise certain methods, please explain. I don't know what interval training means or any of that. I have a couple months at my disposal I can use for conditioning. I've been thinking about joining cross country, first because a friend of mine was joining, now more so for my own interest in running as a sport. My best mile time is 9:03 but that was in the eighth grade (I wanted to get under 9 minutes, haha I was pissed) and I'm sure I've improved somewhat since then. I've run a mile and a third (perimeter of the school) in 10:26 sometime the past couple months. Cross country runners in my period ran it 9:00 flat. SO I was wondering what I could do this summer to condition myself? There's bound to be SOMEONE in my ballpark on the team I could run with. Especially if my friend does decide to join. Either way I want to be prepared! here's what I've done so far: Week 1: 2 miles 2 miles 4 miles 2 miles 3 miles Stuff like that, plus core workout with crunches, side crunches, jackknifes, bicycle crunches, half-jacknifes, etc. Any information pertaining to reccommended training to build endurance and speed, and information on what the cross country season is like both substance and time wise would be very much appreciated! moreResolved Question: chances at Dartmouth, Stanford, Princeton, MIT, UChicago?

I have a large frame, heavy bones, and am an ex-linebacker for my high school football team. In August 2009, I was at a peak weight of 238 lbs. Since then, I have significantly reduced my calorie intake, taking the several small portions of meals a day routine. I try to run a couple miles once a week, play basketball, and rather than driving the 3 miles to school, I now speedwalk every morning. I cut out all sodas, drinking only water, the only exception is 16 oz of orange juice every morning and once in a while a glass of milk. As of May 2010. I am 208 lbs, and I feel like I'm in a dead zone, as I've been this weight for about 3 weeks now. My goal by Aug. 2010 is to be between 175-185 lbs, and then ultimately weight lift and build muscle and average around 195-200. I need some tips to lose these last 30 lbs of fat in a uniform fashion around my quads, pectorals, neck, and particularly my stomach. I'm currently at a size 37 waist. What kind of cardio excercises will help me lose the weight? Should I stick to standard crunches, push-ups and running? Also should I be weight lifting during this time or wait until I have lost the excess fat first? I like to bench press but I'm not sure if its doing more harm than good, as I would like to have much more well defined pecs. So I'm halfway to my goal, just looking out for some encouraging tips. Thanks in advance. moreResolved Question: XC Training, slimming PR, summer workouts?
Hey! I'm currently a freshman in highschool and did cross country last fall. My PR was 24:25 (Amazing considdering my starting time in the summer before was 36:47) and I want to get my PR down to 20:59. I plan on devoting every morning in the summer to training, waking up early and doing core, then running. I was planning on scheduling my weeks based on my team's usual practice workouts, but I'm having trouble remembering the schedule... does this seem right?: Monday- Hard run Tuesday- Tempo Wednesday- Long run Thursday- Shorter run + a lot of strides Friday- Easy run Saturday- Timed race 3.2k (In place of a meet) I'm not 100% sure if this is what we did... but it was something similar to that. All I remember is dreading Mondays. Other than that, is there any tips on training so that you build indurance and shave time off your PR? Also, I'm not a great sprinter, and in races I usually start in the back, but as the sprinters get tired, I have to fight my way through the pack. Is there any workouts/tips on how to become a sprinter? Thanks sooo much for reading and anything (your own advice, web articles, etc) would be major help! moreResolved Question: Why is the iconic Mustang so Popular?

My dad was the captain of the cross country team when he was in high school but I'm a dancer. He is doing running marathons and biking marathons and also some triathlons. I don't want this school year to end?
the school year is going to end in 6 weeks and i'm dreading it every day. It seems there is no up to the time moving everyday , hour , minute , second. I want to just stay. Stay in 6th grade , have everything be as it is. This is my best year _ever_. I am now popular , out of the hole i had dug for myself in elementary , started caring how I looked , have made so many new friends , and so much more! And this year is a lot of peoples last year in my neighborhood. Next year S will be leaving my middle school and going to high school and then a year or two after she is moving , It would be R's last year in the neighborhood , It would be N's , Tan's and Tay's last year at the middle school , K would be off to college , It would be A's last year at high school , she's engaged , and pregnant , It would be D's last year at Elementary , L will be going to preschool , and I _think_ that's it. All my neighborhood friends are growing up , and changing. When we were all in Elementary I use to ride home and see every kid in my backyard playing , now its empty. At school i'm great and can't wait for next year since me and my friends are always going to be in the same grade together , and my BFF and I are on the same team again so its fine at school. But in my neighborhood every day seems as if it might be the last. My neighborhood is one of a kind. All the houses are different and there are only 3 neighborhoods together which i count as one within miles and miles. It has 2 huge creeks , beavers , otters , bob cat , woods , Field by a golf coarse , cliff , many wood trails , tire swing over the creek , fishing , a cave , and more. I love it and want to live there as an adult with my own kids. But now every time I look at it I imaging how it will be later. In the future. Ruined. Probably people would sell all the land and build more houses or something. I know change is for the better , and i wonder what the future will hold , but....the future isn't now. i've been treasuring every moment I have with friends in the neighborhood and taking pictures of all us together too. How can I look to the better of things or anything yall have like tips or advice or if you were ever in the situation? moreResolved Question: How should i become fit for Soccer in 3 months?
