Please help? moreResolved Question: WANTED: teacher opinions!?
My research project aims to explore the use of self-contained activities in FE Art & Design classes, possibly in a regular slot such as every Monday morning. These activities can range from skill-learning sessions to games that do not relate to the student’s project, to discussions on topical issues. I am interested to find out how often activities like this take place and why they do or don’t happen. The paper aims to look at how the activities can benefit students, as well as hopefully raising the sense of autonomy for teachers. (all information will be kept anonymous) 1.Do you conduct regular short activities with your students (e.g. 10-30 minutes every Monday morning)? 2.If yes, how often? 3.Are these… Practical, Motivational, Team Building, Skill-learning or other? 4.If no, why not? 5.If you would want to set up a regular activity, when would you prefer them to take place? 6. Do you think these activities need to be related to current tasks/projects, or are simple ‘team-building’/motivational sessions ok? 7.Do you think that activities such as this allow… Greater creative input by you, Greater cohesion among colleagues, Opportunity for improved student/tutor relations, or any other benefits? 8.Please leave any comments that you feel may be relevant to this topic. moreResolved Question: i was at a work conference and manager prevented from leaving after dinner event.?

We are a team 8 and need to plan an away day / team building day but don't want to do the cliche paint balling or building the empire state building out of straws. Instead, we want to do something that raises awareness of issues in housing today (i.e. overcrowding, affordability etc.) and possibly raises money (i.e. for Shelter) and is something we can do as a team. Can't do huge budgets, and we're based in Walsall, near Birmingham, England. It needs to be no lnoger than a day and will be in the first part of 2010. Does any one have any ideas of what we might be able to do, or anything they've done themselves? moreResolved Question: Raising awareness of housing issues through an "away day" style activity and fund raise...?

Hello I ve translated this French article (http://www.nicematin.com/ta/comparaisons… and need somebody to read my translation to check if it sounds English. thx a lot This is the article: Summer is striding up and some people are saying to themselves that their figures are not yet perfect to dare to appear wearing a swimsuit or a bikini. Then, what should be done to lose extra kilos and to be ready for the first beach outings? All you need to do is merely make the most of fitness and gym centres just about anywhere in the city. In order to help you to carry out your task, we have chosen seven companies and compared qualities of each. We have taken into account six elements in our rating criteria: price, equipment, welcome, coaching, atmosphere and accessibility. It only remains for you to opt for the centre which matches with you. 1. Top Fit Inevitable in Antibes, Top Fit is most likely the sport centre that offers the biggest range of activities. From BodyPump to aquaerobics along with Pilates Swiss ball, you will obviously find a class that you are interested in. At the reception, they take care of you and show you all the rooms (swimming pool, Jacuzzi, weights room...). The unique possibility of subscription is the only drawback; it is worth 820 € a year and 610 € for the under-23s. 2. Antibes Squash and Fitness Club The centre is perfectly equipped and allows indulging yourself in many ways. Among the little assets, you can make the most of a squash court which is the ideal sport for competitors. As for those who want to build a dream body, they are offered the Power Plate program. This is the opportunity to get a monitoring in real professional hands and to make sure that you will not tear a muscle by trying to brave all the machines. You will have to, so as to take advantage of all the assets of the centre, pay out 85 Euros per month for a one-year subscription. This the most expansive centre in Antibes. 3. Versace Gym Antibes If you like to pump iron and to enhance your stamina, this centre will fill you with joy. The warm atmosphere made by the welcome team gets you rid of fears that you might feel when having to try machines you do not know how to use. The coach, whose nickname is “JC”, monitors, motivates and urges you to make efforts and he always cheerfully do so. The price is reasonable (420 Euros a one-year subscription) and it can be spread out according to your available funds. There only one criticism is the lack of space between each machine that causes a lack of privacy. Above all if you are in trouble. 4. Pacific Do not trust the centre outside appearance. Because if it is perhaps harder to access its premise than other centres; you will find all the qualities of the sports room inside. On top of classic weight machines, exercise bikes and treadmills, the centre also offers a large range of specific classes. The staves take care of you and follow you about like a shadow. They always feel great at the Pacific and always contentedly motivate you. All you need to do is to go further than the first impression. 5. Keep Cool Antibes You are willing to discover the joys of rowing machine, exercise bike and stepper in a quiet area of the city centre? This is a good address. Even if the main room is quite small, you neither feel to be spied nor to be watched; the monthly price is 29.90 Euros, which makes it one of the most attractive price of the city; which has to be toned down with the 106 Euros for the subscription (66 Euros for students). At the reception, they quickly get you feel at home. It only remains for you to suffer and sweat after...thx for having answered that quickly, both of you have helped me so much, will give the points ASAP thx again moreResolved Question: What do you call the exercise where you are put in a situation and have to solve a problem?

I'm looking to do a team-building scavenger hunt for my husbands flying squadron. I want to divide the squadron into teams and make a mix of officers and non, including wives families. They guys are having a hard time going back and forth to Afghanistan and will all be home for 4 months, so my husband (squadron commander) and I thought this type of party / activity would be more fun than the usually boring cocktail and dinner. We aren't in the UK or US, but in Europe, and I don't think the people here know much about this kind of thing, but I think they'll really enjoy it. (I'm from the US and have lived in the UK, and know it would be a great experience for these people). Does anyone have any ideas about or experience with scavenger hunts? I was thinking of making two lists: one with pictures (taken on mobiles) of things, like a policeman,a dog, a cow, you know, stuff that can't be carried back. And the second list of things that can be carried back. What are the limits and rules. Can people go to their own homes and get stuff? If I propose this (as an outsider) I HAVE to make it work LOL or they'll NEVER take me seriously ever again!!! moreResolved Question: Can someone check my CV please?

Yesterday I was having a discussion with my team leader regarding our sales team at work. My main remark was that there is little or no team spirit within our group of colleagues. each is kind of tugging on his end of the rope in his or her direction and the end result is dissapointing, and considering that we are a sales team with targets to achieve... So I came upon the suggestion of a team building activity. Something to strengthen the bonds and really make us come out as a whole instead of 8 individual charactres. My team leader immediately agreed and told me that she'd clear budget if I came up with a few good original suggestions. Problem is that I'm all out of ideas. So can you give me a few suggestions towards a good team building activity, considering that the team is comprised of 2 guys and 7 women, some of which not too sportive. This is to be used for a theme/concept. It's for a brewery company that is launching a new identity following the merger of two well established breweries. I need to work this into a welcome reception, launch, team building event, companion programme, gala dinner and farewell drinks. The tagline was chosen to reflect that the change that is happening is positive and the end result will be new and exciting. What sort of activities would reflect this theme. Thanks for your help. moreResolved Question: any ideas for team building day on very limited budget?
