Open Question: Why are democrats in love with socialism ? Do democrats love being told how and when to do everything?

The democrats always claim the United State should not be the lone super power. Obama has take control of student loans, a car manufacturer, part of banking industry, are in forcing oil moratorium , health care for every single person in the country and illegal, about to raise taxes on all small business, taxes about to be increase on those who wish to be rich and rich, extending and giving incentives for being less productive to unemployed. Democrats have been happy with all this. Socialism hurts every one but the head leaders of the group. Socialism works on other peoples money until it runs out. Socialism has never worked any where around the world. more

Open Question: Where do orphans place their dentures when the glass is half empty?

he was graphicly illustrated arguably in tune with none his crooked grey fedora begged for yesterday a blue pungent aura covered his altrusitic benevolence he spoke through gold stained lips once kissed with fortune now reminders of tailpipe breaths coated with truth "clocks don't break ignorance only sees them not moving" and students lost hope leaders swore allegiance regardless, the face was sold on mirrored beliefs dismissing the corrupted few, class ended for the day his requisite release spilt in redundant tones and he never turned another page for fear of the clock moving past him more

Open Question: how do i ask for my passport back?

okay, i was supposed to go on a trip (which required all the students to hand their passports into the leader's hands) however i ended up not going at the last minute and the leader still had my passport. the group arrived back home on the 10th, and I'm not sure if the leader wants to be bothered after three weeks of traveling. i need the passport today though. well, if not today then tomorrow at the latest. it's awkward for me to ask though because im a little distraught about not going on the trip due to family problems. i'm going to ask anyway because the passport is rightfully mine and i need it to go on another trip, but how should i approach her? i'm going to call but what should I say? hi, it's me and i want my passport back? more

Open Question: COLLEGE ESSAY HELP!! is this too risky?

There are three questions from which students can choose for their essay (below). Essays should be 250-1,000 words in length. 1. What are the qualities of a good leader? Use examples from your personal experiences to illustrate your particular leadership style. 2. Describe how your Purdue education would support the attainment of your personal and/or professional goals. 3. If you had a second chance — the opportunity to do something over and do it differently — what would you choose to do over and what changes would you make? * I want to do number 3 and argue that every mistake one makes is a learning experience, therefore, i wouldn't do anything differently. Do you think this is too risky a chance to take???? HELP otherwise, which of these topics would be best to chose in response to #3?: -losing my parents trust by lying to them about seeing my bf when i said i was hanging out with friends -getting a ticket by letting myself be pressured into letting my friend who only has a permit drive my carhm yeah good point, thanks haha more

Resolved Question: why do americans keep telling me I should be angry about this?

I am Australian and at my university there are many american students. Anyway, recently our prime minister (equivalent to your president) was removed from his position my the members of his party and his deputy Julia Gillard was put in his former position and she is now the prime minister. The american students keep telling me that as a citizen I should be angry that the government decided on a leader whom the people had no say in selecting. They say I should be angry that we had no say in who leads our country but that is what always happens anyway! We never get to choose who leads the nation we only have a choice between PARTIES. We don't ever get to vote for the leader of the nation. Once we elect a party we have no say in who they choose as their leader, they can change him/her around as many times as they like. But this is because we have a parliament, not a congress and we live in a constitutional monarchy, not a republic. Also, they say we should be angry that we do not have the right to choose to vote and we do not have the right to bear arms but we are used to that. They say our freedom is being comprimised and that our health sytem is socialist. What are they talking about? more

Open Question: Is the Canadian Forces right for me?

Im just going into grade twelve right now and the idea of joining the canadian forces have been popping into my head on and off. Now though im pretty sure i want to join. like i think it would be an aamazing experience and i always wanted to do something that will be helping other people all of the time. A problem though is that i play a lot of sports all the time, but my arms are quite weak. I can only do about 5 pushups. So im wondering how physical demanding is the military? How much more work will I have to do to accomplish the goal of being able to join the miliary. Also I am leaning towards the navy so what would be the most i deal position for me... I am a student that gets a usual high 60's to low 70's percent average i get distracted easily but i can work my hardest and be one of the hardest workers when i put my mind to it. I played on sports teams all my life and I also know how to be a good leader because i have been voted captain or assitant a few times on my hockey teams. more

Resolved Question: Why would any sane political leader follow the advice of feminists?

On how to make rules regarding gender? Feminism is a movement whose intellectual leaders are on record with the following views on gender and sexuality: "All men are rapists and that's all they are." Marilyn French, revered feminist author, later adviser to Al Gore's Presidential Campaign. "All sex, even consensual sex between a married couple, is an act of violence perpetrated against a woman." Catherine MacKinnon, leading feminist academic (University of Michigan & Yale) and inventor of the sexual harassment paradigm. "Probably the only place where a man can feel really secure is in a maximum security prison, except for the imminent threat of release." Germaine Greer. "If life is to survive on this planet, there must be a decontamination of the Earth. I think this will be accompanied by an evolutionary process that will result in a drastic reduction of the population of males." Mary Daly, leading feminist intellectual and theologian and professor at Boston College until she resigned rather than admit male students to her class. more

Resolved Question: What do you think of these lyrics to the tune My Favorite Things from The Sound Of Music?

Big dykes with small dogs and butches with kittens; Diesels in tall boots with chains on their mittens; Femmes in their lipstick with rings in their nose; These are a few of the gays that I know. Men who can cook and make great apple strudels; Women who think and can sure use their noodles; Some who like dressing in black leather clothes; These are a few of the gays that I know. Men in tight dresses with gold lame sashes; Makeup and high heels and long false eyelashes; Men who have muscles and men who wear hose; These are a few of the gays that I know. When the right wing Spews its hatred And it makes me sad, I simply remember the gays that I know And then I don't feel - - - so bad. Doctors and nurses and students and teachers; Soldiers and singers and actors and preachers; Lawyers who fight in the courts with our foes; These are a few of the gays that I know. Nieces and uncles and sisters and brothers; Parents who live with significant others; Brave sons and daughters who let their love show; These are a few of the gays that I know. Young politicians with courage and vision; Leaders with guts who can make a decision; Those in the closets and those on the go; These are a few of the gays that I know. First Anita, then it's Limbaugh, It just makes you mad, But always remember the gays that you know and then you won't feel - - - so bad! more

Voting Question: Can I still get into a UC school with 3.3 GPA Sophomore year?

So I just finished my sophomore year and I messed up pretty dang badly. I have a 3.2 GPA first semester, and a 3.3 2nd semester. I screwed up badly, I know. More details: I'm a low income student. I go to one of the top 5 school in the nation, and it's really rigorous. All the classes I've taken are honors, though it's not really a feat, because everyone is required to take all honors classes. This year, there was one AP class available, which I took (AP Euro) So I'm in English HP, Chem HP, Spanish 3 I'm had 3 years of music For activities, I'm on varsity swim. I'm officer in 3 clubs, a business leaders club, a youth philanthropy club, and speech&debate. I'm aiming to be a section officer within my business leaders club. I've also got proper volunteer hours. I want to go to a UC, mainly UCSD. What do you think is possible? more

Resolved Question: really long dilemma and I feel like venting...?

I'm just gunna tell you from the VERY beginning (I know it's REALLY long but just bare with me plz) okay, so I started riding english in the beginning of May '09. I rode at a local barn that gave lessons, boarding and all that other good stuff. there's this girl at my barn, let's just call her "T". I thought she was really nice and everything, until my friend, lets call her D, (who rides at the same barn and goes to my school) told me that T said I was arrogant..... okay I'm gunna tell you a side story- this happened in like october (the "arrogant thing"), and T blew her knee out like the july before, so she couldnt ride all summer. so T was recovered and riding for about a week before this happened. at barn chores, T and my friend D were cleaning the water troughs outside and no one was around, T said to D "omg D, I suck so much now because I havent ridden in forever, I'm almost back at your level" as if D sucks, which she doesn't. so after that she called me arrogant behind my back. (just thought you should know ONE of the many mean things she has said) so D told me everything and she had been riding since she was 7 (we r 13) and D said everyone hates T.....you see, my barn isn't competitive at all, we do 4-H and the barn isn't huge, we have like 20 horses all together. the owner puts her heart and soul into it, she's the owner, the trainer for the horses AND the students and she's our 4-H leader. she's great and we all love her, let's call her J. so T has been riding for about 5 years and shes 14. I'll hand it to her, she's a good rider, BUT EVERYONE HATES HER. except J. of course. T is such a suck up to J it sickens me. T is literally like J's pet. omg it anoys everyone to NO END. so ya know, the teacher's pet gets EVERYTHING she wants. for example, when T went to the state qualifying dressage show, J let T use her own dressage saddle when all the other girls going had to use their own regular AP saddle. UUUHHHGGG!!!!!!! I honestly can not describe the many situations of this, and I havent even been around that long to see this and I've seen enough!!! I'm sorry this was so long...I'm really not even done, I could keep going, But I'll stop for now...I want to know if you guys have ever been in a situation like this, or if you have and questions or need any clarification just ask.... I know this is just barn drama, but it seems worse. and the bad part is, T is supposed to be catholic and she swears all the time and is just such a bi*ch...AND her family are the nicest ppl EVER!!!! her lil sis is 12 and I love her! and their mom is really sweet. I dunno....it all just bugs me and I have had enoughwahoo- I want to know if anyone has been in this type of situation, and how they delt with it and what their opinions are.Gregg B- you don't understand. she pretty much controls the barn and everyone in it. And all of us are scared of her. she always puts us down and makes us feel like sh*t. for ex, we just got back from horse camp. one of the girls from our barn was jumping and fell off, so she got moved down to a lower level (which was fine with her) and T comes along and is like "oh you're moving down? Good, because you don't know how to jump" like I said before, only one of the many nasty things that have come out of that girls mouth.okay guys, I was really just venting (as it says in the title). I know that I should just ignore her and get on with my life, I GET THAT. I just felt like writing it all down cuz it annoys me to no end. I was just asking if anyone had and suggestions on how to deal with someone like this. so there is no need to get all deffensive. In fact, I know exactly what I'm gunna do. One of these days when she does something uncalled for, I will tell her what she needs to hear. I have been waiting for the right time to do it. I know it will come. And even if it doesn't, she will pay for this in the real world because if I can't put her in her place now, he future boss will.and like I said I could go on and on about this girl, I just thought I would let you know shes only mean when adults aren't around, so of course no one but us kids are there to whitness it. and I thought you guys should know she loves to slap horses unnessisarilly. for ex, she will be taking a horse out to pasture and the horse will lift up it's head a little to look around and she will yank as hard as she can on the lead rope. and of course, the owner is never there to see it, she would make sure no adults are watching. more

Resolved Question: What are your thoughts on this?

Siena College has just released its annual ranking of America’s 44 presidents, and I was delighted to be among the 200 historians to be asked to participate in evaluating the chief executives. The responses are confidential but I will reveal that I ranked George Washington as our greatest president and not Franklin Roosevelt. The fact that FDR and other “progressive” presidents score so high surely indicates a certain level of bias in the historians chosen and surveyed. Empirical data demonstrates that FDR never solved the Great Depression and indeed, probably exacerbated it with his New Deal policies; however he does deserve all the credit for winning WW II. On the other hand, after America was attacked on December 7th, any president who had not responded just as forcefully would have been impeached. Surely the bias of those surveyed was underscored with the nonsensical ranking of Barack Obama ahead of Ronald Reagan. First, Obama should not have even been included. He’s only been in office for a year and a half. Further, many have argued that sufficient time should pass before these evaluations begin and that even Bill Clinton and George W. Bush ought to be left off the list until passions have cooled and they can be judged more dispassionately. But objectively, how does one really put Obama ahead of Reagan, who unlike FDR, solved his economic calamity in two years (and in the process, tamed the high inflation, high interest rates and created 19 million jobs in the private sector) and, oh by way, won the Cold War. Reagan critics in academia argue that Mikhail Gorbachev and Reagan concluded the Cold War. Ridiculous. Communism gained ground against every American president from 1917 until 1980. Until Reagan put the neck of Soviet communism under the heel of his cowboy boot and crushed the life out of it, no Soviet leader ever willing surrendered power. Gorbachev ran up a threadbare white bed sheet. But don’t ask me and don’t ask some of the historians surveyed by Siena about the Cold War. Ask Gorbachev. He’ll tell you that Reagan won the Cold War. What do we really know about Obama? We don’t know his grades from college or law school, his SAT scores but we do know he rarely quotes great men of the past and seems to begin every sentence with a possessive pronoun. Reagan, on the other hand, quoted Churchill, Cicero, Paine, Jefferson, Diocletian (!!!) and spoke from a parish perspective, using “us” and “we” and “ours.” Obama says “my government” Reagan said, “your government.” Maybe it’s a sign of the “YouTube” generation, but from the standpoint of history, Obama seems to see the presidency as about himself while Reagan and previous presidents saw the office as about the American people and the Constitution. In The Federalist Papers, Jay, Hamilton and Madison hammered away at the point, over and over, that the two most vital criteria for the presidency were character and experience. Obama, while lacking experience, nonetheless strikes me as a man of good character even if he is a bit self-absorbed; however, many if not most of the 44 presidents have been men of good character. That’s not enough to rank him high on the list. It also must be about real accomplishments and a complete measure of the man and his life. The great movie director Frederico Fellini said that one must “live spherically.” By this he meant that people should live their lives in many directions. Reagan was a student of the world, of the culture, of history and of people. He was a class president and an athlete and a radio broadcaster and a husband and a father and a Christian and a rancher and a union president and a successful movie star and a successful television host and a carpenter and a horseman and a writer and a lecturer and a commentator and a governor. All before he became president. And only after two successful terms and two of the biggest landslides in American history did he decide to write an autobiography. Obama has written two autobiographies (though rumors have been rampant over the years that he wrote neither) even before he ran for president. What we do know about Obama is that he, like many of his generation, is mostly developed in the study of himself. He is America’s first “Facebook” president. Having worked for Reagan and written two books on the man, one might expect that I ranked Reagan high and they would be right to presume that. But I let empirical data be my guide and not political bias. On the other hand, if one were to ask the recently deceased liberal historian John Patrick Diggins, he rated Reagan in the category of “great” presidents, along with Washington, Lincoln and FDR. His criteria, as should ours be, being that each of these men freed many peoples. Another liberal historian, James MacGregor Burns, put Reagan in the category of near great presidents. Despite what the historians surveyed by Siena believe---along with renowned histo more

Resolved Question: PLEASE HELP! What to do if your band instructor doesn't like you?

I don't know if he doesn't like me or not. btw, if it matters, I am a fifteen-year old female, last year was a freshman, and this is band class. At first, my instructor and I really had a good start. I am very good at playing the drums too. My friend is pretty good too, but he can't really read music very well but I can. Last year, the band instructor made this band group and picked a handful of band students to be in it. It's a Band Honors Society. He didn't pick but two freshmen and that was my friend that plays the drums along with me and this other dude that plays the oboe. NOT ME... I was shattered, wondering if my teacher didn't like me anymore. Now it's summer time and time to pick the instrumental leaders and my friend was one. NOT ME. I don't want to make this sound cocky or make it sound like I'm the best thing out there, or I didn't even automatically think I was gonna get It but last year I was at ALL of the band's events and my friend wasn't at all of them. I feel kind of cut short and left out. That's why I think that he may not like me anymore. So please tell me what you think about this situation and even if you DON'T think he DOESN'T like me please just give me some tips on how to get back on someone's "good side". Thank you Yahoo Answers! You are all wonderful people, and haven't failed me in a situation yet! <3 more

Resolved Question: Please help me with my captain essay for marching band.?

I really want to be captain of my section next year, but I am not a very good writer. Please help me improve my essay so I have a shot at the position. The most important part of a band are the leaders. Foremost are the directors and staff, then the drum major, then the captains. Each person in the band has a vital role to fulfill. It is the captains job to help each person fulfill that role to the best of their ability. A captain must be both supportive and strict. They must also be able to allow fun but keep the section focused. A captain must also be a good role model for the rest of the band, both during band and outside of it. A pit offers unique challenges to a captain. The section has a lot of equipment that most be moved on and off the field as well as being put back into the school or loaded onto the truck. This makes it vital that the pit have a captain that is focused on the pit without having to spend time worrying about the other percussion sections. The pit needs a captain separate from the drumline captain. The pit also spends a lot of time away from the band. Often there is no staff member in sight. There needs to be a responsible person there to keep the section focused on music, and to make sure the section meets up with the band at the correct time. I believe that I truly am the best person for the role of pit captain. I have spent three years in the pit, and learned many of the challenges the section faces. I have had many experiences which would help me be a better captain. Last year, our captain didn’t tell us anything. We had to rely on friends to tell us about schedule changes and other information. There was once that no one told me a practice had been delayed, so I showed up two hours early. Throughout the season I learned what it was like to have and incompetent leader. It was then that I began thinking next year, when I’m captain… I also found myself taking on many responsibilities that the captain should have had. I began informing the other kids about any information I discovered. I also found myself in charge of making sure all the equipment was put away, which became very hard, because our caption would let the section leave before the equipment was put away. In pit there are often very inexperienced people that join. This causes some students to struggle with the music. As a caption I would find time outside of band practice to help these students. A team is only as strong as its weakest link. It is my goal to make that weakest link perform to the level of perfection. I truly believe that I am the best person to be pit captain next season. more

Resolved Question: Would you read this. I am only 12 and want to know if i am any good or not. Thanks!?

My story is called The 6th graded wars. Here is the 1st Chapter. Chapter 1 Kidnapped. “Does anyone have any shout-outs today?” our principal Patrick said. Hi. My name is Lea. What I tell you is true. You see, this is how North-land Middle School starts it day, every day. Today, it was very different. “We do,” said someone new. I thought it might be some new students in High School, at first, but sadly it wasn’t. I herd about them on the news last night. Vampires. Gee, wonder what they want. “Get the kids. They’re in 6th grade.” Amsome, 6th grade. I’m in that grade maybe I’ll be lucky and get kidnapped! If you don’t already know that I’m joking, well then, you are pretty dumb. I saw one of them take my friend, Jordan, who as talking to Leslie. I then herd screaming and only one person could scream that scream. Destiny. Man, she was kicking and putting up a fight. I ran towards the Exit when I saw David running away too. I ran up to him. “Are any of the boys kidnapped yet?” I asked. I looked behind us to see two vampires running after us. “Yep, Luke and John are. I almost was two but Peter helped me.” He said. We ran out the door and into building 7. “Going somewhere?” I heard behind us. “Great, almost has now become a yes.” David said in a whisper. I was then in the air, kicking and screaming my head off. “Shut Up you little weakling.” Their leader, William, said. “Hey, no one can make fun of me but sometimes John.” I said. Not a good thing to say in front of John himself. . A police man then came in and tried to make them give up. Instead of giving me to someone else, I was thrown into the lockers just to make sure I didn’t run off. I guess I was just that important. You know what I mean? Of cause you don’t because this only happened to me. Anyway, it hurt being thrown against the lockers. My leg was cut and I couldn’t get up. “Lea! Can you hear me?” Destiny said. “I hit my leg not my head, Destiny!” The police officer was down. You guys did a great job on you your plan. “Who are you?” Jordan said. “What do you want from us?” John said. “You deformed chicken!” Luke added. “Really Luke?” I said. He nodded. “Shut up. I’m William. This is my group called the outlaws. I’m not telling you why you six and I am NOT a deformed chicken, you weird little boy.” William proclaimed. Luke calls everyone that, including his best friend. More police men came in at that time. Anyways, my person, I guess, needed back-up because Jordan was then thrown into the lockers. “Jordan!” Destiny screamed. I looked up to see the boys trying to kick the vampire’s heads. FAIL! The police were down and the vampires took that as a time to run away. The boys left 1st then it was Destiny. Jordan and I were left. more

Resolved Question: Help please! What universities do i have a decent chance of getting accepted to?

Ok. I am from an out island in The Bahamas. I attend what is supposedly the best public school in The Bahamas. I just finished 11th grade and I am at the top of my class (in competition for valedictorian with another girl). My GPA is a 3.61 on a 4.0 scale. AP classes are not offered at my school. I recently took the SATs. My scores are Math: 590 CR: 600 and Writing : 690. I want to retake them to improve my scores, especially the math as I had never been taught a lot of it. I was told to take SAT Subject tests, but it is difficult to do that here and I have no idea which subjects I would take. I am Deputy Head Girl if that counts for anything. I am the secretary of the school's Spanish Club that travelled to Cuba. I am a member of Junior Achievers (Vice president of Public Relations). I have been a member of the Bahamas Youth Network (previously Young Life Bahamas), which is a student Christian program, since the 7th grade and I have been serving as a student leader for the past two years. I also participated along with three other students in April in the Model United Nations Session earlier this year. I teach Sunday School at my church and Vacation Bible School in the summer. I got an award as the most outstanding Youth in our Parish last year and a few others from the parish as well. In 9th grade, I took national exams and got 7 As and 1 B and I recieved a national award for the best Technical Drawing Student to take the exam. I know that my GPA and SATs are not outstanding and the lack of AP classes is probably a disadvantage, but I just want to get into the best school that I can and I really want to know what my chances of getting into a really good school are like. I appreciate any help I can get (:Thanks. I am referring to schools in the United States. We are not taught along the lines of the SATs so to speak (if that makes sense at all). It is offered at our school once a year and there are no study courses available. the only preparation one gets here (on Long Island) is through a book or online courses. :\ That could be why my scores and GPA do not seem to match. My class just began much of the Math that appears on the test. :|. more

Voting Question: What in the world is it with these so-called "students" and their sentences?

Those of you with an education, have you really been reading the sentences and paragraphs these "kids" are writing? They write as if everything was a text message: lower case proper nouns, not capitalizing the pronoun "I", misspellings to the max, and just an overall lack of proper writing skills. Oh, by the way, some of their parents are equally poor writers. The old saying is correct: The apple doesn't fall far from the tree." These are our future leaders, and this is the generation who will be taking care of us in our old age. I don't know about you, but it's a scary thought. No need to answer, but it is so sad. more

Resolved Question: I have been hearing about some Black "leaders" demanding ALL Black schools, would that be a good thing?

They say it will close the learning gap between Whites and Blacks. The inner cities already get way more funding than rural schools, so money isn't the problem. Others say "It is a Black thing" whatever that means. Can't be food, now year round free breakfast and lunches. They demanded Black teachers so the students could relate and got that, same results. Time Whites demand separate schools because the Asians out preformed them in many areas. Just how more dumb can the USA get?I think it would be a good thing for the Whites if this happened.Savanna...yes it is true. Resolved Question: Is this beginning intriguing/ does it sound too feminine?

Hi, I'm attempting to write a fantasy novel from the point of few of a pessimistic teen aged boy. Please let me know if it sounds too feminine and if it captivates you. I know its a bit long but I'll return the favor. Thanks. "Year 1784. At age nine, his talents were discovered. A prodigy in more ways then one, Samuel Birch learned to read at an early age, he could write with the depth and accuracy of full grown man, and, most impressively, he could paint with more saviness and talent than anyone else in the free country of America. Awed by the prospect of receiving great wealth and great fame, the parents of the boy sent him off to the best schools that were offered. Young Samuel crossed seas and endured long journeys, going as far as France and Spain, to receive his education. His charms were noticed and appreciated by novelty and religious leaders alike. Back in his hometown, mothers were smacking their incompetent children across the head saying, "Why can't you be more like Samuel Birch?" People were worshiping the name, because he was more then just an intelligent boy, he was the promise of America. But quicker then fruit, things went sour. At age thirteen, with a favorable internship down the line, Samuel disappeared from his English boarding school. He left behind his books and clothes, and a canvas propped against the back wall. On it was written, very sloppily, a single stanza.: "There is no knowledge to be found in schools. I desire no attention from scholars. I only exist in words and pictures, search for me not." I read the museum's pamphlet several times, even adjusting my glasses to see it more clearly. There was page after page on Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, and other artists that I didn't give a crap about, but there was little to be said on the child prodigy. I flipped through it as eagerly as a middle schooler with a Playboy, but even then I had found very little. So then I looked up, only to remind myself that I was surrounded by moronic teenagers. This was because I was attending a fascinating and cultural field trip with my A.P History class. Don't ever be fooled by the classes title. A.P. students are stupid too. I walked passed my peers, paying them no mind because I knew what they were doing- flirting with each other or texting on their cell phones. There was only one person worth talking to in the museum, and that was my best friend, Calla. I shuffled over to her. She was examining a painting that hung on the wall. Her back to the room, I secretly glanced over her curves from behind, then fixed my eyes on her mess of blonde curls. "Hey," I said. "Oh, hi, Cy," she said, peering over at me. "Have you seen this? It's amazing." She was referring to the painting, some artist's perception of the ocean, realistic enough to be a photograph. There were a thousand shades of blue used to create a wave crashing against the shore. The sun, the color of honey, reflected on the water. "How can a person do that? It looks just like the real thing," she went on. "Yeah, without the trash, birds, and fat tourists in bikinis," I replied. She smiled a little, but her eyes never left the wall. Calla had always been interested in art. It's a good thing too, because her love for drawing is what inspired my love for her. I had been living with my uncle in the city when a bright-eyed twelve year old girl began coming over every day for art lessons. My uncle, he's got awe-inspiring talent. (I can tell by the half-finished and half destroyed paintings that line his office walls and floor.) Instead of completing his masterpieces, he chose to offer lessons. I remember too clearly running down the staircase whenever she knocked. I'd pick a book from the bookshelf and peek at her over the pages. I thought it was a nimble plan, until one day she asked me what I was reading and I had to explain what was so captivating about the W Volume of the Webster's Dictionary. At that moment, however, I had come to her with a purpose. "Calla, have you read this?" I whispered, pointing a finger at a section of the pamphlet. She turned toward me then. Her brown eyes shifted over to the words as she read at an inhuman paste. "What about it?" She whispered back. I scanned the room, careful to avoid anybody overhearing. "This Birch guy- I've heard my Uncle mention him before. He's like me." Those thin eyebrows of hers rose higher up her forehead. Her lips parted, and she remained on the verge of speak for several moments before saying, "So he was a-a..." "Or is a Magister." more

U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war. 3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength. 4. Admission of Red China to the U.N. 8. Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev's promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.N. 9. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N. 11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.) 12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party. 13. Do away with all loyalty oaths. 14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office. 15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States. 16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights. 17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks. 18. Gain control of all student newspapers. 19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack. 20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions. 21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures. 22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms." 23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. "Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art." 24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press. 25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV. 26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy." 27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a "religious crutch." 28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state." 29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis. 30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man." 31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the "big picture." Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over. 32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture--education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc. 33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus. 34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities. 35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI. 36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions. 37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business. 38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat]. 39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Commun40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce. 41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents. 42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use ["]united force["] to solve economic, political or social problems. 43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government. 44. Internationalize the Panama Canal. 45. Repeal the Connally reservation so the United States cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction [over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction] over nations and individuals alike. more

Resolved Question: Is America forming into a Nazi country?

Do you think so? # Hitler outlawed school prayer in Germany. In 1962, The U.S. Supreme Court did the same for us. # Hitler eliminated Christian holidays in the schools first by calling Christmas "Yuletide." Most American public schools now call Christmas vacation a "winter break." # Hitler took Easter out of schools and instead honored that time of year as the beginning of spring. It has likewise become common for schools in America to refer to time off at Easter as "spring break." # Hitler controlled the church using intimidation and threats. A half-century ago, U.S. Senator and Senate Majority Leader Lyndon Baines Johnson, promoted a bill that included an amendment to use the Internal Revenue Service to remove the non-profit status of a church that speaks against the election of any specific political candidate. # Hitler enticed thousands of pastors to promote paganism in their congregations. Neopaganism is one of the fastest growing religions in America, doubling every 18 months according to a June 2008 article in The Denver Post. Many American church-goers practice paganism such as "Christian" yoga, contemplative prayer, and walking a labyrinth. As evidence that church doors continue to open further to aberrant beliefs, a 2008 survey found that 57% of evangelicals do not believe Jesus Christ is the only way to God. # Hitler was an environmentalist and vegetarian. Marriages performed by the Nazi state frequently included blessings of "Mother Earth" and "Father Sky." Today Americans increasingly accept radical environmentalism, pantheism, and the celebration of Earth Day. # Hitler was fascinated by eastern mysticism. Today an increasing number of American pastors encourage their followers to become "mystic warriors". # Hitler believed in reincarnation. He even convinced SS officers that by murdering millions of Jews and other "undesirables" they were allowing them to get on with the reincarnation process and come back more quickly in an advanced status. Americans increasingly accept the idea of reincarnation as well as good and bad karma. # Hitler's holocaust killed between 8 and 11 million Jews and non-Jews. Americans have killed an estimated 50 million babies since abortion was legalized through the U.S. Supreme Court in 1973. According to a July 7, 2008 article on worldnetdaily.com "An abortionist who claims to have destroyed more than 20,000 unborn children and who once was Hillary Clinton's OB-GYN says he is doing 'God's work' when he terminates a pregnancy…He admits that abortion kills a human soul." # Hitler killed 270,000 handicapped people through active euthanasia.[1] America and the courts are rushing toward the same with the murder of individuals such as Terri Schiavo. Oregon voters passed their Death with Dignity Act in 1994 and re-affirmed it in 1997. Washington state voters legalized doctor-assisted suicide on November 4, 2008. In December 2008, a Montana judge ruled terminally ill residents of that state have the right to physician-assisted suicide, and "death with dignity" is gaining acceptance in other states as well. # Private schools were abolished by Hitler and all education placed under Nazi control. There is constant pressure from federal and many state education authorities to require that Christian schools use state-mandated, humanistic textbooks. The Home School Legal Defense Association is fighting numerous battles at any given time to prevent parents from loosing the right to educate their children as they see fit. In August 2008, a federal district court ruled that the state of California university system may choose not to recognize the diplomas-and thereby deny college entrance to-students who attended a school using textbooks that express a Biblical worldview in the areas of history and science (i.e., Christian schools). # Hitler prevented dissenters from using radio to challenge his worldview. Many powerful liberals in America have made clear their intent to reintroduce the "Fairness Doctrine" that would require conservative and religious radio stations to offer equal time to anti-Christian, anti-conservative worldviews. # Pastors who spoke against Hitler's worldview and his murderous regime found themselves on trial and frequently imprisoned for "Abuse of Pulpit." In America, hate-crime legislation has the potential to criminalize Christians and pastors who speak out against the homosexual agenda. # Many Christians in Germany justified their allegiance to Hitler through a belief that "Their duty to God was spiritual; their duty to the state was political."[2] Many American Christians now have bought the lie that their worldview can be divided between the secular and the sacred-the politician has one area of responsibility, the pastor another, and never shall the two meet. Yet the Bible teaches that a more
