1) Unite the divided country and improve the amount of unemployment 2) Put an end to Socialism and Communism 3) Achieve a final solution to the Muslim/Terrorist problem 4) Finish the job in the Middle East, invade Iran and claim their resources for our own. Resolved Question: Will Republicans make Obama also ride the coat tails of the GOP Congress and Senate into legitimacy?

Its almost identical of what is going to happen in November when the GOP wins both the Senate and House, this time by a much bigger margin than in 1994 when Newt was named speaker of the house and Dole the Senate leader. Now this took a tremendously failed president in Clinton who would have no doubt gone down in flames in his second election (put the 3rd party Ross Perot factor aside for a moment which split Dole's victory for President in Clinton's second election)..............but will Obama start looking more like he is actually competent after the GOP begin to turn things around one year after they take the house and senate this November? And second question, is Obama the most Aloof president and out of touch President in the History of the United States of America's History and will Obama's dismal failure prevent any African A**merican candidate from ever taking the Oval Office ever again with one of those sayings..............."screw me once shame on you..........screw me twice shame on me".........that type of thinking when the next black guy runs for president in the future, maybe 20 years from now???? more

Resolved Question: Do people who oppose Obama have a hard time understanding the big picture?

Do you think they are shallow minded, non-educated, susceptible to propaganda, or never experienced a reflective thought in their life. The big picture is to have continuous improvement within our country and throughout the world. Did Bush or conservative philosophy starting with Reagan improve the world? Look at us now--parents can't afford to send their kids to college, both parents have to work highly stressful jobs just to stay afloat, debt exploding out of control due to lax regulation of Wall Street, Maybe we should pool our resources and have government actually work to improve our lives. Obama is trying to improve America. He's tackling big problems and we need his support, not lack of cooperation. Look at another accomplishment Obama did today. He brought together two leaders of people who have been fighting for centuries. They even agreed to meet in person for further talks. Could John Bolton, Newt Gingrich or anyone on the belligerent right accomplish such a thing? more

Open Question: Why does Time magazine headline "How Barack Obama Became Mr. Unpopular"?

The Barack Obama that most Hoosiers remember voting for can still be found on YouTube. He stands before a cheering Elkhart high school gymnasium in August 2008, tireless, aspirational, promising a new America of jobs and hope. "We can choose another future," says the newcomer with the funny name. "So I ask you to join me." Today that view of Obama is harder to find in Indiana. A couple of weeks back and a dozen miles west of Elkhart, hundreds gathered in another school gym - except this time it was for a job fair. With the local unemployment rate above 12% and rising again this summer, about a third of the employer display tables stood empty. Julie Griffin, who voted for Obama in '08, sat down at the room's edge, well dressed and discouraged. --- This shift in perception - from Obama as political savior to Obama as creature of Washington - can be seen elsewhere. When Obama arrived in office in January '09, his Gallup approval rating stood at 68%, a high for a newly elected leader not seen since John Kennedy in 1961. Today Obama's job approval has been hovering in the mid-40s, which means that at least 1 in 4 Americans has changed his or her mind. The plunge has been particularly dramatic among independents, whites and those under age 30. http://news.yahoo.com/s/time/08599201562900;_ylt=Am_IDnw02A6ntWhwRX2Dl2da24cA;_ylu=X3oDMTM1YzV1MzZxBGFzc2V0A3RpbWUvMjAxMDA5MDIvMDg1OTkyMDE1NjI5MDAEY2NvZGUDbW9zdHBvcHVsYXIEY3BvcwMzBHBvcwMzBHNlYwN5bl90b3Bfc3RvcmllcwRzbGsDaG93YmFyYWNrb2Jh Has Time finally figured out that Emperor 0baama, the boy in a mansuit, has no clothes? more

Resolved Question: Since when did it become necessary for a Political hopeful to espouse their Love for Jesus ?

As an A-Theist, I find the trend of "Christian" identity in this nation disturbing. America is built on a secular principle of equal freedom to worship.. But If the President "Might" be Muslim, well then there's a definite problem... If there are Muslims working as PA's and Interns... they are "working their way in" It's nuts. There is no proof of God, all texts are written by and interpreted by men, There is no conclusive proof that "HE" exists (Nor does she) .. and yet, Our leaders have to swear an allegiance to a Phantom, and a very specific Phantom. So once America has cleansed her Government halls of all the Un-Christians...will tolerance still be in place; When really, there is no tolerance to begin with? more

Resolved Question: Should Jane Fonda have been charged with Treason for providing Aid and Comfort to our enemies?

I know it's too late now, but back in the day, should that American-traitor-commie-bi.tch have been charged with treason for providing aid and comfort to our enemy. She DID go to North Viet Nam, met with their leaders, interviewed American Prisoners of War, and even engaged in propaganda photos whilst posing on one of their tanks. While interviewing the POWs, one of them slipped her a note. She turned it over to her North Viet Nam commie cohorts. The POWs were severely punished due to Hanoi Jane turning in that note. I think the only reason she wasn't tried was because of her father, the late, great, Henry Fonda. It was America's love for him which helpted that hewer stay out of jail. We must never forget her treacher. What do you think? more

Resolved Question: Republicans, do you remember these things from George Walker Bush's presidency?

I know you are dying for those great Republican leaders to return to office, but hop on my magical carpet ride and let's revisit the days of President George Walker Bush: --Fraudulent, needless invasion of Iraq off cooked intelligence --hijacking of the surplus Clinton left him --Medicare reformed that fattened the pockets of Big Pharma (and drained our Treasury of billions) --Silly idea about reforming Social Security (hilarious how the markets collapsed right after his tour) --complete collapse of the global economy --car companies going bankrupt --insurance companies going bankrupt --banks going bankrupt --airlines going bankrupt --torture --military procedures ruled unconstitutional by Supreme Court --unfunded occupation in Afghanistan (because he was too busy looking for those fairy tale nukes in Iraq) --lied to America about the purpose of TARP (his 700 billion dollar bailout program) Need I say more? more

Resolved Question: Why are Americans allowing our Democratic and Republican representatives turn us against each other ?

I've been reading questions and answers today and I've found something very interesting. So many of us, regardless of our party affiliation, truly feel the government is pitting us against each other, as they know if they can turn your common American into hate machines, where Republicans hate Democrats and visa versa, they benefit from it. Our government is using us, without most of us not even knowing it, for their own benefit. When the truth is we may differ in our ideas, which is what makes America, America, but as a whole we all want the same thing for our country. I used to think it will be all the hatred American citizens feel toward each other that will destroy this country, but after reading the things we've all said, which you all know is some of the most hateful rhetoric yet, it is the government instigating us. What if we stopped and refused to let the government do this? We are pushing each others buttons to get a reaction, with the questions we ask, which only makes us look ugly, when in truth it's the government that's ugly and making fools of us. All of us. Republicans know their party is dead wrong with the things they do and say and Democrats know their party is dead wrong with the things they do and say. So why do we keep defending them and hating each other? I don't think we hate each other, we all love our country. Our government wants us to hate each other. They know all too well, if we do and stay so divided they'll continue to have all the power and control over us. Is there anything we can do to stop our learned behavior taught to us by our leaders, very much on purpose. more

Open Question: Why is the number of illegal immigrants in US now declining?

WASHINGTON — The number of illegal immigrants living in the U.S. has dropped for the first time in two decades — decreasing by 8 percent as the sour economy dried up jobs and increased enforcement made it harder to sneak across the border with Mexico, a new study finds. Much of the decline comes from a sharp drop-off in illegal immigrants from the Caribbean, Central America and South America attempting to cross the southern border of the U.S., according to the Pew Hispanic Center, which based its report on an analysis of 2009 census data. The findings come amid bitter debate over Arizona's strict new immigration law, which was passed earlier this year but is on hold for now as it is challenged in federal court. The Obama administration contends the state law usurps federal authority and promotes racial profiling, while Arizona leaders say states are justified to step in if federal enforcement falls substantially short. The study released Wednesday estimates that 11.1 million illegal immigrants lived in the U.S. in 2009. That represents a decrease of roughly 1 million, or 8 percent, from a peak of 12 million in 2007. The study puts the number of illegal immigrants down to about where it was in 2005. They still make up roughly 4 percent of the U.S. population. The Homeland Security Department's own estimate of illegal immigrants is slightly lower, at 10.8 million. The government uses a different census survey that makes some year-to-year comparisons difficult. more

Resolved Question: Does the right in America believe it's own lies or do they know what they are doing?

Obama was born in kenya. False Obama is secretly a Muslim. False Obama is a Fascist that is usurping the constitution. False Obama is a Communist that is usurping the constitution. False Obama is a Socialist that is usurping the constitution. False There's plenty more lies that are going around. Too many to list here. My question is are they stupid enough to believe these fairy tales or are they careless enough to spread these lies regardless of what it does to our nation in the long run? I would cite polls showing in 2009 that show that less Americas believe Obama is a Muslim than polls conducted in 2010. Since it's not possible to unlearn a fact, it leads me to consider that they know exactly what they're doing. PS - I'm talking about our leaders here not their sheeple.Well it looks like the left thinks they know better, but it seems the right is insistant that they are just stupid. I don't know what to think. more

Open Question: Why is it terrorism when Palestinians kill Israelis but not terrorism when Israelis kill Palestinians?

I dont see any difference. KiIling is killing. I saw Hillary Clinton with Netanyahu on TV condemning the "acts of murder" because 4 Israelis were killed including a child. What do people think Israelis do when they kill, and I dont mean retaliate, I mean instigate killings. they have killed more children and adults than Palestinians have done. America never reports all of the facts. What started it. How did Hamas get into the W. Bank. There wont be any agreement to discuss real issues as long as Netanyahu is prime minister. They are excluding the political party that won elections in 2006 Hamas. Fatah has a weak sister as its president, Abu Massan, when they should have Barghouti as leader if he is not in an Israeli jail.JIM: So be impartial and not side with Israel just because they have the better media campaign. They are not equal since Israel has weapons. If activists use shields it is because they cannot possibly defend themselves against white phosphorus or cluster bombs of Israel. After 1948 the Arabs were busy fighting the British instead of establishing a state. Ancient history.BAZ: You listen to American media and not both sides. Israelis kill children and women too and many worse since they have weapons. Both parties are defending themselves against the other. Israelis often instigate and provoke incidents but American TV shows Israel as victims. Israel is capable of defending itself from anyone.CHINACAT: Yes, thats what I was getting at. As Ahmadinejad said: the M.E. should be a nuclear-free zone and Americ/Israel are taking revenge on Palestinians for what the Nazis did in WW2. more

Open Question: Is Obama punishing the United States for its history of slavery by deliberately tanking the economy?

He is doing the exact opposite of everything a leader should do during a recession. He passed trillions in spending measures when we were overspent and in debt, he is letting taxes rise at the moment they desperately need to be cut, he is stoking race wars in Arizona and elsewhere, he is taking vacations while 10% of the country lives paycheck to paycheck, he has gotten us to where 1 in 6 people depend entirely on government handouts. These are the actions of a man trying to destroy the country, not save it. Could it be that Reverend Wright's call to punish the "US of KKK" and wanting "America's chickens to come home to roost" influenced Obama to hurt the country? more

Open Question: Need pros and cons on freedom of speech/press, and a few examples of what I'm talking about?

I'm writing a paper on what I like/dislike about the US and decided on going with a compare and contrast theme on the Bill of Rights. I need some pros and cons about the freedom of speech/press. I have a few ideas but I was wondering if anyone could help supply me with some detailed examples? Here are some things I need fleshed out: ///// Speech: My pro is that you don't get punished for speaking your mind or against your government/leader (Does anyone have an example of a country that punished someone for speaking out against their government/leader? Especially a harsh punishment like death.) My con for freedom of speech is organizations like the KKK and Westboro Baptist Church. I think I'm good here with the examples, but I'd love to hear more! ////// Freedom of the press: My pro is that once again you don't get punished for writing what's on your mind (I'm really weak in this area, so examples could help me out a lot! What are some good things that America allows it's citizens to publish, while other countries do not? Any examples of countries government's spreading propaganda and burning other people's writing would be great! My con for freedom of press in the US is that people like the paparazzi are allowed to take photos and edit them into something else to spread lies. Again, any examples of this, or a different con for this freedom would be very helpful. ///// If anyone could help me flesh out my essay, I would be so appreciative! I have the ideas, I just don't have the examples. xP more

Resolved Question: Is this the Iran war, in the Bible? What do you think?

THE IRAN WAR, IN THE BIBLE? Daniel 7 &8 (They overlap each other) At Daniel 7, we see a lion with eagle wings. I believe that this is America, because America’s mother country is England. The symbol of England is a lion. The symbol of America is an eagle. Thus, you have a lion, with eagle wings. Then, the wings are plucked and it is made to stand like a man and a man’s heart was given to it. Then a beast like a bear comes, after the lion with eagle’s wings. This beast had three ribs in its mouth (Bush was the 43rd president and invaded 3 countries). And they said to it “Arise, and devour much flesh.” Bush killed people in Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan. The beast rises up on only one side, could the other side be his father George Bush Sr.? After this beast, came another. It was like a leopard. Obama has parents that are two different colors. A leopard is from Africa. This leopard has four wings and four heads. Obama is the 44th president. Now, here comes a bad one. This one is described as dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. It has great iron teeth. And it has ten horns (allied powers?) And up from among them, comes the antichrist (UN leader), described as the little horn. Three of the first horns are plucked up (Mexico, US, Canada). The UN leader, makes war with the saints. Possibly picking them out through the RFID chip? The UN leader devours the entire earth. Now, let’s go to Daniel 8 and I will show you how this fits in. Hint: Remember the “little horn.” Daniel sees a vision of Elam (Iran). He sees a ram (Is this Iran and its nuclear program?) Next, there is a goat (this has to be beast #4, the one without a physical description, other than teeth). The goat comes from the west , not touching the ground (airplanes). The goat breaks the ram’s two horns and pulverized him. Because of this, the goat waxes exceedingly great (USA). And when he was strong, the great horn was broken (North American Union is formed). Out of the great horn, came four notable horns: America, Mexico, Canada and The United Nations (headquarters, in NY). Out of these three pieces came the little horn (antichrist). The little horn would be none other than the United Nations. By peace, he shall destroy many (RFID CHIP). An angel tells Daniel that Elam is Perisa and the goat is Greece. He also says that these times are for the end. I understand that some people say, Greece, that was Alexander The Great. Okay, well sometimes prophecy can have dual fulfillment. Also, these are the end times, not in Alexander’s Day. How can the US be Greece? All of our government architecture is Greek and so is our government system (Greece was the first democracy). When the two witnesses, during the end times are slain, the Bible says in Sodom and Egypt, where our Lord was crucified. So here, you can see one place being described as another. If I had to compare America to any other country, it would be none other than the place where the birth of our architecture and government system came from. I am not using only my own interpretation of this book. I have heard other people’s interpretations and have taken pieces of them and put together what I think makes the most sense. I think that America is going to start WWIII and out of this, will come the North American Union, with the United Nations as the quiet power. I think that the UN will make the RFID chip mandatory and by that, will target all who refuse to conform. After this, I believe that those who do not accept the RFID chip are going to be killed. Then, after America has slain the martyrs, she will be nuked. But the UN leader is not going to be here, he is a global kinda guy. My interpretation could be way off, so could everyone else’s. However, if these are the end times, someone should be able to make some sense of the Book of Daniel, soonEddie J: Even the angel Gabriel said that this is for the end times. How can we be living after the end of times? more

Voting Question: Was Che Guevara a good person?

Was Ernesto Che Guevara a good person/leader? please don't answer if you have no knowledge on him. I don't want anyone saying he was "evil" if you dont know much history. After watching 4 hours of the movie CHE i found him to be a great leader, and a smart person in Latin America.Joshua Batista wasnt the greatest person either, im glad he was overthrown, and i wouldnt consider anyone "evil" and how do you know about him being "racist"? link me to your evidence. more

Resolved Question: Is America heaven on Earth?

I was born and raised in the US so I'm sure I have a strong US leaning bias. I don't see how a system of governance can get any better. This view is not absolute, and I ask this question so I can get insight. People in Government: The US is a Democratic Republic. Everyone of age is eligible to vote for people in government. The people in government come from the people themselves, as all citizens who meet certain requirements are eligible to run for office. Elections are very frequent, and there is a limit to the number of terms one can have. A representative can also be impeached and ousted prematurely. No permanent leaders = no incentive for oppression to remain in power. Law: All American citizens have fundamental rights that cannot be revoked. Freedom of speech, Freedom of the Press, Freedom of Religion, Freedom of ownership of private property. The law is very flexible, and reflects the wishes of the majority of the people. Justice: Everyone is innocent until proven guilty. Nobody can be falsely imprisoned, and a sentencing requires concrete proof. Opportunity: Everyone has equal opportunities under the law. One reaps what one sows. Very flexible social and economic mobility. Everyone is entitled to primary education. Government regulations greatly reduce risk of exploiting the lower class.Yes, I am using America as an example. I am talking about the system of government. My allegiance is to this ideology, not the flag itself. I know I come off as naive and I know I am. That is why I am asking questions here on YA. I ask questions to gain insight.Let me rephrase: How can we improve this system of governance? Specifics. more

Voting Question: Why are the politicians trying to get us to focus on illegal immigrants?

They have got people saying we should kick out Muslims, in other countries it is gypsies, in America it is Mexicans. That is how Hitler did it, he got you all to feel passionate hate towards another race, built you up so much that he could control that hate and passion. What you want you will get, a nice political leader will Capitalize on your hate and another Hitler will be born. You all are easy to lead, easy to get to hate, and then you will blame that leader saying he made you do it after it is all said and done and 2000 dead bodies are lying in a trench and were going into Mexico to ethnically cleanse them. (lets face it, the only way to get rid of the problem is at the source -- or learn to accept it) more

Voting Question: I just read some article called 'Obama not worried by Muslim rumours'?

http://news.uk.msn.com/world/articles.aspx?cp-documentid=154530845 I always hear about people who think the president is a Muslim... and I was just wondering what was the big deal if he is a Muslim? Doesn't anyone think this is slightly unfair? People seem to attack him for being a Muslim (even if he is not)... as if its a bad thing. Obama says he is Christian.. i don't really mind what relgion he is.. just how come people have to make a big deal of it as if it WOULD be an awful thing is he was? People also complain about the fact that he might not have been born in America... and what the hell does that matter? Just because you are born on a different part of the planet... does that mean you shouldn't be allowed to be a leader? Does this really all matter as long as he is a good president? (I can't say if he is because i don't know) I mean George Bush was born in America and Christian, right.. and he wasn't exactly the greatest leader....o_0 This is just kind of confusing and makes me angry =_= I'm only a teenager.. I don't know that much about politics tbh, but how adults accuse Obama of being a different religion or not being born in America is just immature and embarrassing :/ doesnt anyone else think its stupid or am I the only one seeing abit of sense?@ John Doe- yes I understand it would be awful if he had lied about it.... but the question was asked once, and it was answered (no im not a muslim)... and now people just CONTINUE to accuse him or say he is a religion which he already answered he is not! That tells me that people clearly have a problem with him if he was a Muslim or Islam... because otherwise they wouldn't keep bringing it up. its just weird o_0 more

I want to participate in FBLA and I was wondering what are some events that you don't have to compete at region or area and you can go directly to state? The reason why I am asking this question and not looking online is cause it doesn't state anywhere online, that one may go directly to state. Resolved Question: Which of these 7 dots best describe Obama's ambition to be the leader of the Muslim world?

Dot 1: He outlines his policy to his radical muslim audience in his Cairo speech. Dot 2: He says that terrorists must no longer be called enemy combatants but should be known as our muslim friends instead. Dot 3: Works to try to close GITMO and release as many muslim terrorists as possible while he can. Dot 4: Tries to move the Terror Trials to as close to Ground Zero despite overwhelming public opposition to having the trials there. Dot 5: Tries to relocate terrorists to be imprisoned on American soil so that if they do get released they can resettle in America. Resolved Question: What is the difference between Tibet and Hawaii?

Tibet was annexed by China, Hawaii by America. The previous leaders of Tibet want to secede. So do the ancestral heirs to the kingdom of Hawaii. China isn't going to let Tibet go. The US isn't going to let Hawaii go. Aside from your beliefs on which government would be better to live under, what real difference is there? Why is China bad and America good in this scenario?Ted N: This is the house slave argument. It is irrelevant to the question.W.C: First, they didn't vote until there was a clear white majority in Hawaii, making the vote pointless. Second, who cares about apologies? "Sorry but it's ours now, live with it. You aren't getting it back." I'm pretty sure China has made similar statements. Anyhow, again, whatever your feelings are about the state of the economy or the quality of life are irrelevant. This is not the question. It is about the right to self-rule. Freedom from imperialism. I actually believe both are better off and neither should secede. I just want to know why anyone thinks the situation is different between one and the other. more

Resolved Question: Do you feel any of our leader's policies have been effective?

Take the stimulus packages for example. Don't you think they were just a big waste of taxpayer dollars? Or do you think it helped "cushion" the recession in any way? Or all the bailouts. Do you think that it helped America or hurt it? If you want my opinion, the stimulus packages didn't have any effect on the recession. All the people who got the money didn't spend it. Same way with the bailouts. And why are we rewarding business failure? If we let them fail, won't a successful business step in and fill the void? ?Paulina: The only reason Clinton left office with the nation in great economic shape was largely due to a Republican-dominated Congress that blocked many of his spending measures. The other was thanks to technological advances in electronics (like computers or cell phones) which has little to do with Clinton or a Republican Congress.29 Yr Old Virgin - I won't give up any "doe" to them. I will give them one thing. The muzzle end of my gun. more

Voting Question: Why does anybody still hold any faith in the two-party system?

My point is - why do people continue to vote for Democrats OR Republicans? Hasn't history proven that both parties are worthless and only serve the interests of those with the green? Why aren't we electing a leader, like Ron Paul for example, who represents Main Street America? Who doesn't think we ought to "stop people from building a mosque" simply because they are Muslims? Who believes that private gun ownership is important? Who does not kiss big business behind? Every year it just seems like we get someone who is crappier than the last guy. I think it all started with LBJ. Then we got Nixon. Then we got Ford. Then we got Carter. Then Reagan. Then HW Bush. Then Clinton. Then W. Now Obama. None of these people were or are worth a crap as a "man of the people." The President is supposed to be a man of the people. Not a man of "greed and deception." more

Resolved Question: What groups is Beck attempting to address. Is it religious white America or Racist white America?

Why does he group these two? Religious white America and racist white America. Are they the same? Do they overlap? What groups do you think Palin and Beck would represent? Conservative commentator Glenn Beck and tea party champion Sarah Palin appealed Saturday to a vast, predominantly white crowd on the National Mall to help restore traditional American values and honor Martin Luther King's message. Civil rights leaders who accused the group of hijacking King's legacy held their own rally and march. While Beck billed his event as nonpolitical, conservative activists said their show of strength was a clear sign that they can swing elections because much of the country is angry with what many voters call an out-of-touch Washington. more

Resolved Question: What is FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) about? Please help!?

I want to join the FBLA at school (but only to hang out with this guy and so it can look good on my college app :). I heard that you have to do public speaking (NOT GOOD since I am shy and then start getting nervous) and compete, but I am so confused. Like what are we competing in? And do I have to speak if I don't wanna. I went to the websites and got the info from my school and everything, but I am still really really confused on what it is. Could someone PLEASE tell me what I am getting myself into. I hate speaking in front of people...so that's what im worried about. Like what is this FBLA? What do we do there? And how can I become less shy because I would like to feel comfortable talking in front of people... Oh and I wanna be a veternarian when I get older so I don't think this will help me. THAAAAAAAANKS! A LOT GUYS! -LOVE ME. (: more

Resolved Question: Take two - strange political survey question.?

Since there seem to be many assumptions made in this section about people of different political persuations, everything from religious persuasion to favorite fiction genres and even stranger things here is a political survey to satisfy the curiosity of anyone interested in such things. Shortly before I close out the survey, I will in an "Additional details" give my own answers to these questions. Yes, I know many of the questions have NOTHING to do with politics (though some do) but the point is to satisfy the curiosity of those who have been answering and asking recent questions in the politics section. 1. How would you describe yourself politically. If you are liberal please specify modern, classical or other. If you are conservative please specify "neo" "paleo" or other. If you are anarchist please specify "anarcho" "green" "without adjectives" or other. 2. Do you own a pick-up truck? Do you own a volvo? Do you own a hybrid car? 3. What is your favorite band [and / or soloist] of the 1990's? 4. Do you live in the Northern Hemisphere or Southern Hemisphere or right on the equator? 5. How would you describe your religious or spiritual beliefs and /or secular philosophy? 6. How should political thinkers and leaders from the 1700's and before be judged? 7. Do you "hate America" and if so why? 8. How often do you shop at Wal-Mart? 9. What is your favorite genre of fiction? 10. Do you believe 9/11 was an Inside Job?I am about to close this out. Here are my answers: 1. Libertarian / An-Cap 2. I own a little Toyota Yaris 3. Hmm, tough one. I am a huge fan of Beck but I also like Rasputina 4. Northern 5. Ignostic [no, I did not misspell agnostic] 6. They can only be judged by comparing their ideas to the standard ideas that existed at the time they lived. How far did they move the ball forward? 7. No, only most politicians. 8. Two or three times a month 9. Sci-Fi 10. No. But the government DID know something like this was being planned and it is disgraceful that they did nothing to stop it. But I have come to expect nothing better from the government. more

Voting Question: Why doesn't the rest of the world understand they live in America's shadow?

Will it be like that forever? No. We have the cultural and financial capital of the world: New York City. Our foreign policy in military matters is the only one that counts. Other countries structures (especially in Latin America and Iraq) are designed based on what our political leaders and wealthy want! Why be in denial about all of this? You live to cater to us. Why would we ever learn any useless language like Spanish, French, German or something when you are all bowing down to us?Brits have a weird sense of humor no one can ever figure out. The funny thing is they critique themselves. Yet don't like to when non-Brits are in the room. The government isn't the one publicizing the ''American dream.'' The media is. It is well ingrained into our culture anyway. The localized isolation has minimized much of the years with increasing population and advanced technology.Don't you realize though a Brit could never accept that America is just an overall better place to live? You could take the UK at it's worse point versus us at our best point and they'd be too stubborn to admit that. They can't accept that one of their colonies - one of the few big ones that they didn't let go of on their own, became better then them.Billy - We have plenty of friends. Or ''friendly acquantinces.'' I personally don't care if the average Brit or Canadian doesn't like Americans. It doesn't matter their government not our ally because of it. Don't you realize the British military has been the personal b*tch of the US over the past few decades? They do anything we say.Billy - You don't even have a good comprehension of your own history. ''England'' is not a sovereign country in military matters nor has it been for a few centuries. They don't have a couple of ''world war'' victories under their belt. The UK does. And the only reason the UK does is because the US and USSR has to help get the Nazis from stop abusing you in Europe. Thanks for the half-*ss effort in the Pacific too ;)The influence of the English language since the end of WWII has primarily belonged to the US. Not that the UK hasn't had involvement. The sad thing is you now have Europeans not all that far from the UK (ex. the Dutch) who speak our version of English (almost to the point of sounding like an American). The Brits live in as much of a shadow of their own history now as French people have since the fall of Napolean. The US economy thrived well before 60 years ago. We were arguably the world's economic superpower throughout most to all of the 20th Century. It may have not been as clear cut before WWII as after, but we were nonetheless a wealthy country while the UK had clearly been eclipsed. If the UK were such a great place, why did they still come immigrate to our country in the 19th Century? Where was our major immigration wave to your country or continent? Has there ever been? Isn't that weird considering our population and size? And common language? Don't say it is because we aren't open minded enough to explore. When an opportunity is there to make money, people take it. The fact is we've had a more socially and then economically advanced system then you. You are just in denial about it.Rawr - First of all, not everyone in the world knows English. Not even close. Maybe 15-20%, and that'd be really pushing it with broken language speakers. Chinese already is a more spoken language and will continue to get more and more. Also, our version of the language is much more popular in present day. The UK wouldn't be the reason why it is so known today. Take away the US population and there are as many Anglophones as there are Francophones and the French colonized and spread out on as many continents as the British. Think about that. It has only gotten more popular since our advancement with the computer and internet.China has a long way to go. They got 3X the population of the US, yet 1/3 the GDP. That makes our citizens have 6X the per capita of them. Their city folk might live nice. But the people in their rural areas (which there are plenty of) are living third world lives.Guillermo - GDP is important too. It measures the individual wealth and quality of life each citizen has. Even if we used PPP though, they have 1/2 of what we got, yet we got 1/3 of the population they do. Granted they may eventually catch up to us, Europe and everywhere else in quality of life eventually, but it'll take time. Europe is not all one country. Each country has their own individual wealth. The European Union may be one economy - but it isn't truly unified and it never could be. Unless it were one sovereign country like the US or China. I also debate whether or not India will get to that point. They are one of the emerging economies like China, South Africa and Brazil, yet they are not moving at nearly the pace the Chinese are.China also wastes money on wars, military technology and the fact they don't care to properly check items they export saves them time and money. They have a political party that won't waste it's time on expensive time consuming trials for people. They'll just kill them. Why is the US a bully anyway? Because you aren't American? Or because you don't like them? By the way, the shadow of Europe, Canada and all of western society, as well as Japan, is being slowly taken over by the Chinese. So we aren't the only ones. If I am wrong - why is the US dollar still worth practically the same as Canada and Australia? more

Resolved Question: Serious question for atheists only!?

Sorry. If you are a theist, you should not attempt to answer this. Sorry for that. I think we all agree that Gods were created to fill gaps in knowledge and religions were created by rulers to make it easy to control them and also to give people a strong reason for unity (sorry Buddhists and maybe some other religions I don't know of to which this may not apply). In the present context of the world, it exists in many parts of the world for the same reason. Lets take the US for example. They have enforced Christianity (we know it seems to give freedom to choose your religion, but Christianity is literally forced anyways) during the Cold War period after the second world war to unite people against Soviet Union (which had state enforced atheism). It is still being enforced to win the peoples' support for so-called war against terrorism, which is basically a war for oil against many countries (which are mostly Muslim). We also know that these countries will also try to convert American people to follow Islam, as the part of the war to ruin their plans and enforce Islam in their countries as much as they can to unite their people. So are America funded Christian Churches trying to achieve in various parts of the world. If you have many people of a particular religion in your country, your country is much more likely to support the one which has the same religion than the next. If you look at India-Pakistan matter, you will see how Hindu/Muslim thing is being used to achieve political goals by both countries. It is also used inside India to make it as an agenda in internal politics. Normal people can be stupid but the leaders understand how to use religion. Islam is constantly being modified and so is Christianity. That is exactly why there are so many differences between the religious texts and preachings in religious organizations. Most do not read the original religious texts anyways and depend upon their religious leaders, who are certainly influenced by state in one form or other. If you have watched the documentary "The Root Of All Evil - Richard Dawkins" (a.k.a. "The God Delusion" and "The Virus of Faith") or read the book "The God Delusion", Dawkins presents religion as the main problem of the world. I understand that from Dawkins' viewpoint, religion might look like the biggest problem since that is the reason why his significant contributions in science is being neglected by most of the world population. But is it really the "root of all evil"? I maybe wrong, but from where I see it, religion is just a tool which can be used for unity and easy administration or for advantage in the war or both. I think that is the reason why atheism and other religions are constantly under attack in a country with a certain religious foundation. If you live in any such country, you can certainly try your best to promote reasonable thinking by education and everything, but you certainly can't succeed significantly as you will not be allowed to do so in one way or other by the state. As an atheist, what is your take on this? I'm open to your agreement/disagreement in this and expect you to post answers based on your context and your country/region or anything you have to say based on your observation. Thanks for your input. Pardon my poor English.Oh. Sorry, it got too long. Only noticed after I posted. Next time, I'll consider your time.@Philip W Thank you very much for your alternative points of view. While I agree that early religions were created to fill gaps and build rituals, I don't see why countries use it as their foundation without political goals. I understand that US does not constitutionally force a particular religion (mostly for political reasons, they don't want to appear biased against rest of the population not interested in Christianity), but it seems biased towards Christianity. And preachers may know everything about their religious texts, but I'm sure what they preach are influenced by fundings (or in other words, those that preach what state wants get better funding). India/Pakistan separation was based on religion, but that is not why it is still an issue. It seems political now.@jack Maybe those who are already strong theists will lose their minds when they discover what they had been following all along, but that is not true for those who have had a proper upbringing or lesser space for religion. If the state really cared, it could certainly fund atheist organizations more than religious ones and work to make less religious impact on children. Sweden which has the highest percentage of atheist population (80%) has actually less mental health problems than the USA which has only 10% atheist population. :D more

What if I gave you sharia law? would you promise to behead me? maybe have me stoned? anything for you big boyKelly: You are NOT insulted because your complete lack of honor allows you to be.Alcoholic; Let me ask you something. How often do you think the opportunity comes up to buy real estate in Manhattan (the most coveted real estate in the world)? ESPECIALLY real estate that you can build on? Do you honestly think they could have gotten even one inch closer to ground zero? Now, consider that there are already hundreds of small serviceable mosques in Manhattan, to serve the Muslim population. this isn't about NEED, this is about building a gigantic mosque, it (100,000 sq. ft.) will be more than twice as big as the largest current mosque in North America (48,000 sq. ft.) do you honestly think the only property they could find to build this behemoth on was in the middle of Manhattan, as close as they could get to ground zero? It's a deliberate slap in the face.Really Kelly? then tell me what EXACTLY is being built there? (all you know is what you've heard from Jon Stewart) Oh I guess it's not a mosque because it has a conference room and a gym well then why is the current largest mosque in North America called a mosque? it has all of those amenities too and it is unabashedly called a mosque. Resolved Question: Why is America becoming devoid of leaders?

Leaders unite the people ... the recent past has lead to polarization. America has a history of great politicians ... some failed to reach their apex because the competition was too fierce. Today, I see no relief in sight as they embrace politics as usual.JimSock- That's what Perot said. He also said America needs to be run like a business ... it needs to balance it's budget and operate in the black. I'm beginnning to think he was a diamond in the rough. more

Resolved Question: Can Muslims be good Americans? Read detail and then answer.?

Theologically - NO His allegiance is to Allah. Moon God of Arabia./ Religiously-NO because no other religion is accepted by his Allah except Islam (Quran, 2:256)(Koran)/ Scripturally - NO because his allegiance is to the five Pillars of Islam and the Quran./ Geographically - NO because his allegiance is to Mecca, to which he turns to in prayer 5 times a day./ Socially - NO because his allegiance to Islam forbids him to make friends with Christians or Jews./ Politically - NO because he must submit to the mullahs (spiritual leaders), who teach annihilation of Israel and destruction of America, the great satan./ Domestically - NO because he is instructed to marry four women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34)/ Intellectually - NO because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is based on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt./ Philosophically - NO because Islam, Muhammad, and the Quran does not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist. Muslim government is either dictatorial or autocratic./ Spiritually - NO because when we declare 'one nation under God,' The Christian's God is loving and kind, while Allah is NEVER referred to as the heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in the Quran's 99 excellent names. Resolved Question: Christians, should we pray for our President right now!!! ?

I just watched a prophetic word of warning for our President. God is giving him a choice whether to love & embrace Israel like America has always done. And God will pour out a big blessing on US. But if he chooses to side with Islam and pressure Israel to give up more land to the Muslim Supremacists, then God will remove him from office. 2. What do you think Obama will do at this next meeting with Israel, Palestinian & other national leaders? Is he going to side with Israel or the Islamic Supremacists? My prayer is that Obama comes to his senses... And the prophetic word is alarming!!! Just explained tonight [Thursday, 8/26/10]. http://kimclement.tv/?ref=play&i=251&nowshowing=1This isn't FOX news... This is Kim Clement who just received the most powerful message from the LORD for US & Israel. And a word for those scheming against US hoping to change our name from America and change Israel to Ishmael. Scheming this in great pride & confidence that they will achieve their goals.Mr.Tattie, You should listen to it in the link provided. Ask the LORD to confirm it to you... Kim Clement had a vision of planes in NY in 1996 also. And it happened on 9/11. He & others think this is the most significant prophetic word he ever received from the LORD. You have to watch it to discern for yourself.JC, in the Prophetic Word, the LORD is a bit angry about those who have a hatred for His Israel. Kim had never sensed the LORD this angry before. Even that the LORD is going to show Himself in a BIG way for His Israel. [something like that] The LORD says, 'Hasn't my Word already said? Isn't My revealed Word enough?'. [something like that] There are plenty of biblical prophetic scripture of the LORD protecting Israel.JIM, Of Course I have prayed for Obama... The exclamation marks are to stress the importance of praying for him right NOW!!!!!!! You would understand what I mean if you listen to the prophetic word. Its a must for every Christian who loves the LORD, Israel & USA, and who also loves our enemies.JIM, the prophetic words touches on what you write also. So?Camille, The prophetic word about the big one in the USA was diverted because Christians praying for US. Then Haiti got hit instead. Sad, but there was a warning & Christians prayed. Kim is fasting & praying for US today. This prophetic Word is received in Detroit MI last Sunday & Kim showed parts & explained it today. This is for NOW. He had a prophetic Word before 9/11, before Huricane Katrina, Before the Christmas underware bomber, etc.Live, Your discernment is faulty. God changed his mind regarding a judgment when people pray. Prayer moves the heart of God. more

Resolved Question: Is Glenn Beck's Rally a warning to liberal racists?

That America has had enough of their plantation politics and race hatred? http://www.americanthinker.com/2010/08/black_conservative_supports_gl_1.html Alleged civil rights leaders, including Rev. Al Sharpton and NAACP President Benjamin Jealous, are having a cow because Glenn Beck had the audacity to schedule his "Restoring Honor" rally on August 28th on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. It is the same date and location of Dr. Martin Luther King's famous "I Have a Dream" speech 47 years ago. These are the same hypocritical so-called black leaders who demanded that white America honor the memory of the civil rights icon with MLK Boulevards across America. But when a "white boy" chooses to embrace Dr. King's vision and dream by holding his "Restoring Honor" rally on the same day as Dr. King's historic speech, the Black Civil Rights Mafia, the race profiteers, yell, "How dare you? MLK belongs to us!" I am a black American who wishes to thank brother Beck for honoring Dr. King in such a powerful way. Beck's "Restoring Honor" rally is linking the restoration of our great nation's Godly principles, freedom, liberty, and culture to the black civil rights leader. Beck's rally is a wonderful tribute to the man I remember, when I was a little boy, as being larger than life. I was there, August 28, 1963, in Washington, D.C. with my dad -- yellow school buses lined up and black people as far as I could see. I do not remember feeling hate in the air. Dr. King spoke of all Americans yielding to God, righteousness, and brotherhood. Sounds like Beck to me. MLK was amazing: incredibly articulate, dignified, strong, powerful, and bold. And yet, he was also warm, calm, and confident. To say I was in awe of him is an understatement. As a little black kid, I proudly viewed MLK as our Black Moses, leading us, by God's grace and guidance, to God's Promised Land of Brotherhood and Freedom in America. Thus, you can understand my total revulsion for those who dishonor and exploit MLK's legacy while deceitfully claiming to preserve and celebrate what he stood for. more

Resolved Question: Which political party is killing the middle class?

Bill Clinton signed NAFTA and issued a record number of H1b visas to displace middle class workers from their jobs. And what is Obama doing to stop any of this? The Middle Class in America Is Radically Shrinking. Here Are the Stats to Prove it "the globalism and "free trade" that our politicians and business leaders insisted would be so good for us have had some rather nasty side effects. It turns out that they didn't tell us that the "global economy" would mean that middle class American workers would eventually have to directly compete for jobs with people on the other side of the world where there is no minimum wage and very few regulations. The big global corporations have greatly benefited by exploiting third world labor pools over the last several decades, but middle class American workers have increasingly found things to be very tough. Here are the statistics to prove it: • 83 percent of all U.S. stocks are in the hands of 1 percent of the people. • 61 percent of Americans "always or usually" live paycheck to paycheck, which was up from 49 percent in 2008 and 43 percent in 2007. • 66 percent of the income growth between 2001 and 2007 went to the top 1% of all Americans. • 36 percent of Americans say that they don't contribute anything to retirement savings. • A staggering 43 percent of Americans have less than $10,000 saved up for retirement. • 24 percent of American workers say that they have postponed their planned retirement age in the past year. • Over 1.4 million Americans filed for personal bankruptcy in 2009, which represented a 32 percent increase over 2008. • Only the top 5 percent of U.S. households have earned enough additional income to match the rise in housing costs since 1975. • For the first time in U.S. history, banks own a greater share of residential housing net worth in the United States than all individual Americans put together. • In 1950, the ratio of the average executive's paycheck to the average worker's paycheck was about 30 to 1. Since the year 2000, that ratio has exploded to between 300 to 500 to one. • As of 2007, the bottom 80 percent of American households held about 7% of the liquid financial assets. • The bottom 50 percent of income earners in the United States now collectively own less than 1 percent of the nation’s wealth. • Average Wall Street bonuses for 2009 were up 17 percent when compared with 2008. • In the United States, the average federal worker now earns 60% MORE than the average worker in the private sector. • The top 1 percent of U.S. households own nearly twice as much of America's corporate wealth as they did just 15 years ago. • In America today, the average time needed to find a job has risen to a record 35.2 weeks. • More than 40 percent of Americans who actually are employed are now working in service jobs, which are often very low paying. • or the first time in U.S. history, more than 40 million Americans are on food stamps, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture projects that number will go up to 43 million Americans in 2011. • This is what American workers now must compete against: in China a garment worker makes approximately 86 cents an hour and in Cambodia a garment worker makes approximately 22 cents an hour. • Approximately 21 percent of all children in the United States are living below the poverty line in 2010 - the highest rate in 20 years. • Despite the financial crisis, the number of millionaires in the United States rose a whopping 16 percent to 7.8 million in 2009. • The top 10 percent of Americans now earn around 50 percent of our national income. Giant Sucking Sound The reality is that no matter how smart, how strong, how educated or how hard working American workers are, they just cannot compete with people who are desperate to put in 10 to 12 hour days at less than a dollar an hour on the other side of the world. After all, what corporation in their right mind is going to pay an American worker 10 times more (plus benefits) to do the same job? The world is fundamentally changing. Wealth and power are rapidly becoming concentrated at the top and the big global corporations are making massive amounts of money. Meanwhile, the American middle class is being systematically wiped out of existence as U.S. workers are slowly being merged into the new "global" labor pool. Resolved Question: Why isn't Ron Paul taken more seriously!?

This guy is the most innocent political I've ever seen. He knows what he's talkin about and many times has predicted in the 80s and 90s(and offered solutions) to America's Current crisis on war and the economy...I mean this guy wants to help america, he REALLY cares for the people, A very different politician. Don't you think he can break the barriers of this two-party system (even though he's a republican) and have Americans who live and die by their parties actually focus on the major issues at hand? eg: The Mosque issue @ New york...who gives a sh*t? Let them handle their business on private property and move on. Why aren't we concerned with the 15 million unemployed Americans, health care etc.... If you don't know who I'm talking about, here's an awesome clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trAiCwzSVho BQ: Do you recommend anyone aside from Ron Paul who can get Americans as a whole to focus on the main issues on hand or is it impossible to have such a leader with the people devote to their parties and hear every word coming out of the opposition as blasphemy and heresy. Thanks in advance. So many learneth people here, why must the rest of us take the media as absolute truth? more
