Open Question: My cousin and most of my friends like my crush?

Warning: This is going to be very very long, so please, if you dont want to answer just leave thanks. [This is about my cousin] Me and my cousin go to the same school. (she came in this year, i was in this school last year). She came from this really really rich private school. I trusted her in everything, i told her everything too. But then whatever i do at school, she tells her mom (her mom and dad divorced), her mom tells my grandma and then my grandma tells my dad. she tells stuff like: I dont eat my lunch(cause i dont have the time to, but then i do when i get home) I buy other people lunch (They pay me back) I got told off at school (cause of her not doing her work and im the group leader) I really hate it cause everyone calls us 'the twins' (we look nothing alike). She always sticks with me and she keeps calling me fat, ugly, dandruff girl (she has wayyy more than me lmao) and other names. I sit next to my crush(my left) and she sits on my right. Everytime he talks to me she always goes like "Oh christina stop flirting...." or "ooooooooo Christina and -------" My cousin is better at everything compared to me, everyone compares us including our teacher. I think she's trying to get my jealous cause she always says stuff like "------ keeps staring at me, i feel so awkward" and "He talk to me!! OMFG OMFG OMFG" (btw my other friend says that my crush really hates her.... So what should i do with her? [This is about my FRIENDS] Yeah i know, my crush is very popular between asian girls in my class. 3 of my other friends like my crush. One keeps smiling and flirting with him by touching his hair, poking him, slapping him ont he back and laughing at EVERYTHING he says. One keeps looking at him no matter what he does and everytime she mentions his name...lol but i find it funny how we sit in a straight row. Its like this. Crush>me>cousin>friend A>Friend B. What should i do with my friends? Oh someone please help me...10 points :) more

Resolved Question: Why did Republicans prevent Dems from closing a loophole that rewarded corporations for sending jobs overseas?

"Even on things we usually agree, they say no," Obama said of the GOP. "They just think it's better to score political points before an election than to solve problems." "In a combative tone, the president pointed specifically to House Minority Leader John Boehner as he laid into Republicans for objecting to a package last month that sent $26 billion to the states to keep teachers on the payroll and pay for police officers by sending additional Medicaid money so states could redirect that cash for salaries. The bill was paid for with cuts to expanded food stamp payments and higher taxes on multinational corporations. "You know how we paid for it? By closing one of these ridiculous tax loophole that actually rewarded corporations for shipping jobs and profits overseas," Obama said. "Even a lot of America's biggest corporations agreed that this loophole didn't make sense, agreed that it should be closed, that agreed that it wasn't fair -- but the man who thinks he's gonna be speaker, he wants to re-open this loophole." http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/09/06/obama-campaigns-democrats-new-infrastructure-investment-plan/Andy, every teacher in America was already voting Democrat. Voting Question: PLEASE READ my student council speech & give me suggestions etc. & tell me wat you think (:?

Good afternoon, Teachers, Students, and Staff of _______ School. As some of you may know my name is Priscila ______ and I am running for our student body vice president. Dedicated. Responsible. And Enthusiastic. These are three words that describe me, and three reasons why you should vote for me. I cannot promise that if I am elected we will be allowed to chew gum and nor am I certain I would be able to end homework. But I can listen to what you, the students have to say, and pass it on to the faculty and staff of our school. I will try my best to meet any student requests. But I can promise I can make is that I will try my hardest to help you, the students, have a memorable school year along-side with the elected president of our school. I believe I am qualified to become your vice president because I served on the student council last year as your Religious affairs coordinator, you also have seen me reading morning prayer in the mornings, so I believe that I have leadership potential, a great public speaking voice, and I’m committed to my work and what I’m doing. While casting your vote, I ask you to look beyond popularity or who you are friends with. Look at who would be the better leader for our school. Thanks, and please-vote me, Priscila for vice president more

Resolved Question: Are the Dems Going to do Well in the November Elections? Why or Why Not?

Best case for Why --- The Republicans are 100% Braindead -- they don't have a single idea except low taxes or no taxes. Their main agenda item is to extend the Bush Tax cut so capital gains are taxed at only 15%. Doing this would be a $680 Billion gift to the top 1% of the population, and half that gift would go to the top 1/10th of 1%. So the billionaires would become multi-billionaires. That is the entire agenda of the GOP. If you think they have any other ideas, just name one. What idea do they have? Best case for Why Not -- Obama is plainly a failure as a President. He may have been good as a teacher, or as a community organizer, but as a President, he's worse than Jimmy Carter. Many people think he's a foreigner and a muslim, or at least on the side of those kind of people. The word Marxist has been attributed to him and it seems to fit -- and on Pelosi and on Reid. Obama has been a total failure on domestic policy, a very weak Commander in Chief, a poor leader of the USA in the world, an incompetent administrator and manager, and not so great as a truth teller. If the election can be made into a Referendum about Obama, then every single Democrat will lose and the GOP will get a blowout victory -- probably the House, possibly the Senate as well -- only need to pick up 10 seats. But these are just suggestions to get you started. What I want is your feelings. Foaming at the mouth... venting.... ranting.... are all OK by me, as long as you are 100% respectful toward me. Just give me the unprettied up version of your true thoughts. But no dirty words, no racial stuff, and no threats on political personages, OK. It's a Yes or No question, so please make that the first word of your answer, and then explain if you wish -- it can be your own personal views -- doesn't have to be pundit style. What are you going to do, and why? more

Resolved Question: baseball stance/coach help?

might as well start with my stance. right now im in a closed stance (too closed for me).i feel absolutely no power from my hips, lose balance, head is pulled off the ball, my swing turns into a big uppercut and its just derailing my swing BIG TIME. none of these problems were with my old open stance. my coach (we'll get to that later) says i open up too quickly which i do understand (i was in an open stance before but i could read the pitch better) but this stance is gonna take me nowhere. apparently i have quick hands and quick bat speed (which i do see) and its all being taken away. so should i go slightly close, neutral or slightly open and also i need some drills to close up a bit more. i also need to read the pitch better too (which could be another reason why im opening up sooner). i know these problems but i just cant fix them im just not focusing enough. i feel im just looking at the ball and not seeing. any ways i can fix that? in a game i just cant hit a ball hard at all but off the tee or doing soft toss etc, i KILL the ball its a great feeling i wanna feel in the game. another reason could also be im in a fairly low level league with not the best pitching and i also wanna play at a much higher level. i know i have the tools and a high potential but i want RESULTS BADLY!!! moving on to issue #2. my coach (well usually my assistant coach) doesnt like me. he picks favorites when he is the head coach. my usual head coach is away and i love my head coach. calm, confident and a good teacher. he taught me to control my nervous emotions, played me at the positions i thrive at (SS, sometimes CF) and it really boosts my confidence. for example, im hard on myself a lot (thats always been me) and he sits down with me when i strike out or have a bad game and goes over what i did wrong and helps build my confidence. hes a great guy and really improved my game this year. cant say enough good things. but my assistant coach is nice and good when my head coach is there but when he isnt, he has to be the biggest confidence killer ever! he plays me at 3B (which im pretty bad at) and RF (which is like the position where u get punished at in my league) he gets over-excited and way to frustrated by being the head coach and gets to a point where he doesnt even know what hes talking about. he always thinks hes right so i cant convince him hes wrong. as i mentioned before he destroyed my swing and destroys my confidence right when i get it to a level where i like it. face it, i thrive on confidence. the mental game is based around confidence, concentration, composure, etc. as yogi berra said "baseball is 90% mental, other half is physical." he basically kills my confidence and composure (but i need to work on concentration any ideas?) and need help fast. ill say this in caps before any assumptions are made: I'M A TEAM PLAYER, HARDEST WORKER/MOST DETERMINATION/COMMITMENT/DEDICATION ON THE TEAM AND A PLAYER WHO LOVES GIVING OTHER KIDS ADVICE, in a way im a leader, but he doesnt notice any of this and still treats me like shit. its annoying im losing patience. my head coach realizes my goals which is great and i like him a lot. im complaining because hes gone for the rest of the season and i dont know how to handle it anymore. im thinking of skipping the rest of the games. what should i do??????? oh yes im 15 and desperate to fix my problems.lol i looked back at my question sorry for the long essay but these problems are really annoying and pissing me off more

Resolved Question: I want to change schools....been going to catholic school for 12 years!?

Okay. So I'm going to be completely honest right now. Please! I can really use some advice! So please take the time to read this. So, I'm a very unique 16 1/2 year old. I'm a Junior at a catholic/private high school. I've been going to catholic school since I was around 4 1/5 -5 years-old. I've been to 4 different private schools. And they have ALL been the same! All about "dress-to-empress", you all must look like "soldiers and warriors of God", you "MUST follow "OUR" beliefs". I never felt like I had an opinion, and my OWN beliefs! I myself have a VERY UNIQUE, individual style. But, how to describe it. Its sorta rocker, artsy, tough chick, with a little bit a punk. I've been going to a catholic (not forced, but encouraged), and I believe in just being yourself, no matter what that may be. Its funny I do not look the part of a typical "catholic school girl". I LOVE self-expression, piercings, tattoos.... you name it. Its just that. When I'm in school I feel I can't be THAT, I can't be MYSELF! Its a shame to same, but I feel SO out of place, and so different, and like I almost don't belong. I love when people just where whatever, and act however. But, in catholic school, well my school in particular, Its all about "image", and "presentation". Like your on a stage, or platform 24/7! And I'm against that! I just like to chill, and relax! I just feel like I' m NEVER COMFORTABLE in school. Everyone in my school acts the same, talks the same, eats that same thing (i'm a vegan by the way, long story). And there I am. Just ME! I'm not comfortable in school. I'm comfortable with myself. I don't believe thats the case at all. I can't stand being around the clone-like piers, uptight teachers, and" it's all about pristine image" principal It seems like I want everyone to like me. I want to make friends, and do have a few good ones, but don't have ANY classes with them. I want to be a LEADER, or someone that takes risks, when the truth is I DO. (Outside of school though). When I'm in school I feel like a FOLLOWER. (Its almost impossible not to when your in a catholic school). I've been trying for 2 years to like this school.... and I can not stand it. I 've been putting up with everything and everyone. Should I transfer to a different school? If so, could I transfer to a public school in neighboring towns? ANY ADVICE! I honestly am open-minded to hearing your thoughts... and can REALLY use some help! Thanks! more

Voting Question: What are some good costume idea's?

Every year our school does the Link Leader program which is when we take groups of grade 9's (9-11 in each group) and make them feel more comfortable with coming to high school the week before. I am looking for a creative theme for our team (there are 16 teams of 9-11 approx.) Think of something no one else has probably already thought of, we wanted to try underwear for outerwear, but the teachers weren't completely sure on that one. So PLEASE HELP more

Resolved Question: Omona, another kpop survey?!?

Okay, so there's been a huge influx of kpop surveys/questionnaires lately but hopefully you’re not too sick of them so you can do mine ;_; I’m sorry if these aren’t fun or anything, but I just like asking questions and reading all of your wonderful answers ^^ 1. If you could be the leader of any kpop group, which one would it be? 2. What do you like better/find funnier: gifs or macros? Resolved Question: Any Ideas for costume and set designs for a student written play?

Hello :). Im taking drama 2 and we were having auditions for this student written play called " The Fallen". For each person who auditioned my Drama teacher asked us to enter costume and set designs for the play. This play is about the " Angels" and the " Fallen " who are always battling each other. In other words the Angels = the good guys who save souls and the Fallen = the bad guys who steal souls. This play is an action/ romance/ battle type of play. Im guessing this play is sort of what judgment day is supposed to be like, involving choices of heaven with the angels or hell with the fallen. The main characters are a group of women : Berura ( the one who falls in love with Amarus), Alala ( the fighter), Benita ( the leader/ Mind reader),and Chalice ( the angel) . A group of Fallen : Amarus ( the fallen who becomes an angel for the sake of Berura), Adrian ( A gay man ), and Christian ( the one who shows hatred towards everyone) . Then there are a bunch of extras , Including, Guards of the Fallen, angels, and fighters. Any ideas on what the set should look like and what the costumes should look like? Please help and answer ASAP :) Thanks more

Resolved Question: I challenge you to Improve Your IQ with this game.?

What disturbs me is the lack of intelligence in the world today. I believe mankind like all species are connected to the universe. When one of us becomes smarter, that makes the whole better by one person. Public schools make our children dumb in many ways. for instance 1. Confusion. Gatto notes several things contributing to what he calls the lesson of confusion, including: a lack of subject-related context for what is taught; too many unrelated facts and unrelated subjects; a lack of meaning and critical thinking about what is taught. About this lack of critical thinking Gatto says: "Few teachers would dare to teach the tools whereby dogmas of a school or a teacher could be criticized, since everything must be accepted." With this kind of training, how would it be possible for a kid to know what valuable things are NOT in public school curricula? And by extension, how would it be possible for that same adult to discern that what her leaders tell her about American history bears little resemblance to what happened to the victims of those who wrote the histories? 2. Class position. Gatto points to the way students are kept in the same class by age, and, within this age classification, further classified and separated depending on how the students have done schoolwise (for example, classification into so-called gifted classes). About this lesson Gatto says: "That's the real lesson of any rigged competition like school. You come to know your place." As someone who has suffered from this myself, you have to ask how many learning opportunities are lost because children are not properly identified using rigidly mechanistic criteria. 3. Indifference. For this lesson Gatto is referring to the effects of the ringing bell that announces the end of the current class and the need of the student to drop whatever she is doing and proceed to the next class where a different teacher and subject await her. About bells Gatto says: "Indeed, the lesson of bells is that no work is worth finishing, so why care too deeply about anything?" And as far as educational evolution goes in kids, this rigidity causes children to assign equal value to all classes, say math and gym, without regard to their relative importance. 4. Emotional dependency. This lesson results from students having to submit to the designated authority, the teacher, regarding their personal desires during class time. As Gatto says: "By stars and red checks, smiles and frowns, prizes, honors, and disgraces, I teach kids to surrender their will to the predestined chain of command." By the time this learned tendency reaches adulthood, it prevents many people from realizing there may be more qualified candidates other than the two corporate-approved rivals for any given office. 5. Intellectual dependency. This lesson is similar to the lesson of emotional dependency, since both lessons teach students submission to the designated authority. In the case of the lesson of intellectual dependency, the students specifically learn submission to establishment authorities, including the teacher, on intellectual matters. This definitely discourages thinking "outside the box" when alternatives are presented to any given problem. As Gatto says: "Successful children do the thinking I assign them with a minimum of resistance and a decent show of enthusiasm. Of the millions of things of value to study, I decide what few we have time for, or actually it is decided by my faceless employers. Bad kids fight this, of course, even though they lack the concepts to know what they are fighting, struggling to make decisions for themselves about what they will learn and when they will learn it. How can we allow that and survive as schoolteachers? Fortunately [Gatto is being ironic] there are tested procedures to break the will of those who resist " 6. Provisional self-esteem. As Gatto says: "The lesson of report cards, grades, and tests is that children should not trust themselves or their parents but should instead rely on the evaluation of certified officials. People need to be told what they are worth." As a result, when people get older, they may not be able to determine the worth of a given activity without someone whose authority they covet approving their decision. Put more simply, they may not be able to think for themselves. 7. One cannot hide. By this lesson Gatto means the effect that constant surveillance has on students as they are watched by teachers and other school employees. About the underlying reason for this surveillance Gatto says: "children must be closely watched if you want to keep a society under tight central control. Children will follow a private drummer if you can,t get them into a uniformed marching band." Resolved Question: My Leo friend and I always get into an argument when we are with each other, i'm a Capricorn?

Oky. so my friend and I been friends since our freshman year and we are now in college. at first we was that close like going over each other house and going out together. we were school friends. Now we've grown closer with our friendship and UGGGGHHHHHHH, she gets on my FUZZZN' nerves sometimes. she has a really bad attitude as I do to but KNOW HOW TO CONTROL IT. she catchiest a quick temper if someone even trys to hit on her or what ever. Yes. Capricorns do have a temper... but we try to control it. And we try not to show it...We argue only when the person is being completely ignorant.I admit, i do have a temper. I don't like to lose my face, but when i do, there is no stopping me. but anywho.... one time we almost got into a fight, a fist fight. me, my 2 besties ( Taurus and Capricorn)and my friend the Leo went downtown to navy pier in chicago. so this B1TCH starts complaining the whole train ride.like wtf, she'll be like oh i'm hungry, i need food and we'll try to get her to get something to eat she'll get picky. if your that hungry you would eat anything at that moment and I'll be like can someone feed this B1TCH.LOL then every time a guy would try to talk to us she'll catch an attitude and try to make the boys get away from us. ( she's not all that pretty from our little group but she's still cool) she get on my FUZZZN NERVES sometime like SHUT THE FUZZ UP . and i'll test her a lot to see how mad she'll get on purpose because its fun. hahaha.lol. i love test people and seeing the limits. and that make her mad. she know that i don;t give a flying FUZZ about her attitude and if she gets made or not. and i'm outspoken and blunt so she knows I will tell her off in a sec. but the main problem is control. like when we were in high school, the teacher would pick me as the gruop leader and when we do the projects, she gets mad because i want to do it my way. like wtf, im the leader and my ideas are better. but anyway, she's a good friend ...she watches out for me and she's there when I need her...sometimes ...she's mostly there if I really need it. she's a ride or die chick.lolMy friends and I call each other B1tches and blaha blah blah , all the other b.s. sometimes because we're cool like that.lol more

Voting Question: I am good at nothing and great at nothing?

I am doomed to be a failure. Everyone tells me I am destined for greatness because I am articulate, and apparently show great leader qualities. I am good at NOTHING. I mean NA-DA. Everything is AVERAGE. I slacked my first two years of highschool. and I'm about to be a senior and have a 3.0. I worked so hard to bring up my bad grades to a 3, but I cheated. It was a mixture of workking hard and cheating. I am so depressed. When I don't cheat I get cheated of my grades by teachers( teacher said I had an F in her class, but I kept all my graded work- and told the principal, and my grade was a B+. I hate being ME. People say I have bad social skills, but some say I don't. I am jumbled and mixed up. I thought I was good at computers so I took a BASIC computer math course. I CHEATED and worked hard(combined) and got a C. I am pathetic. I mean I realize that I am doomed for failure... but It's whatever. Should I become a con artist? I mean every white hat thing I try to do I have to work to just to get what I deserved in the first place, and sometimes I still become f*cked. Every blackhat thing I do It works out fine. Should I just be a bad seed. Maybe I already answered my question. P.S - I have neglectiing well off parents who make me do physical labor in return for empty promises, and whenever I try to stray they say We give you food, water and clothing. Yea.. and we have 2 big friggin houses, and 5 cars. I got a job to start saving because I have a good feeling do to past experiences that they aren't going to pay for college, and they are trying to make me quit my job because " You need to get your grades up".... well hmm I'm black with a 3.0 and a 1480 on my sat. If I were white I would be labeled average middle class white student. But I'm black. So I know a college WILL accept me. -Please excuse my racism from " I would be labeled average middle class white student" statement, but I feel deleting that sentence would deprive this paragraph of its authenticity. I would never say this to ANYONE's face, unless I was extremely comfortable with them or high, or drunk. LOL. more

Resolved Question: i feel like im starting to suck at drama?

im 14 in october, and im from scotland. im currently in my third year at high school. in primary, i was really, really, really not confident at anything. when i went to an audition in our last year at primary for the school play, my voice was a monotone, i was shaking, and i was glued to the spot. i kept fiddling with my paper and it was an instant "next". i felt so ashamed of myself and my confidence began to sink dramatically (har de har). when i got to drama in high school, i realised there was no point in being so nervous. i might aswell make a fool out of myself in the good way, by making people laugh for the right reasons. all of a sudden, i was the best in the class. me and my friend were the ultimate pair, and i dont mean to boast, but we could have the class in stitches by the end of the lesson. people were saying i was "amazing at drama" and i felt so accepted. for once in my life, i felt good at something. then, in second year, i was still as good, and i started to realise that this is what i wanted. i really wanted to be an actress. my teacher put me for a credit (highest class). then, when we all got put into our classes, it seems like anyone and everyone is better than me. it feels like primary again. sure, maybe im not quaking in my frickin' boots, but after every drama lesson i leave feeling ashamed. i knew that there were obviously going to be people better than me, but i didnt realise that it would be near enough everybody in the class. i can still get people to laugh, but theres this boy in particular. i used to be really good friends with him, but then he got really stuck up and stopped talking to me suddenly. he's amazing at everything. i hate him, not for that, just for the fact that he made me feel like i was kinda worthless. like i wasnt good at anything compared to him. i want to be an actress so bad, but somehow it feels like im not good enough. my self esteem has dropped completely again, and i dont know what to do. i used to be the leader in our groups, motivating people, making plots for scenes. now i feel like a blank slate. i cant think up anything good anymore, because im afraid people will go, "wow, that was really s**t." please help me? i dont care in what way, just please? :'(K Ex yeah, i understand what you're saying and i know im whining, but do you not think i realise how much pressure actors and actresses are put under? who the fuck dragged simon cowel into this? LOL, seriously, grow up. i understand you have to be thick skinned if you want to be in this kind of shit, well you know what? i am. im sorry for saying that im getting a bit insecure about what people might think of me, but you know what? im four-fucking-teen. i am not a professional yet. let me whine, and go off and sit at your little moniter and answer peoples questions like you're a somebody. well guess what, you're a nobody, just like me. sitting at your computer screen, answering peoples theatre&acting questions like you're a pro. is that fucking whiny enough for you, yah cunt? more

Resolved Question: Will i make a good Saxophone Section Leader?

last year (my freshman year), i outplayed and out sight-read the senior section leader. He was so humiliated that he quit band. And because he quit, i became section leader. My band director chooses section leaders by seniority. Anyways, i'm 100% committed to band. However, only about 3 of us in the band really are committed. Playing music is my passion. I used to be in the best Youth City Jazz Band in the country. I had to quit due to some other activities i had with Rodeo and such, i'm not going to get into that. Anyways, not many people in our band care. I have threatened to leave the school for another, better band. I was in the process of transferring schools. My band director acted desperately and contacted the district, making me unable to transfer. so i decided to stay and help the band improve I work with my section, and give them quizzes on scales once a week. I work with them on sight reading, and i am very strict on having them tune their instrument before playing. I am a strict section leader. I discipline verbally, and if i am allowed, will make them run if they are misbehaving during marching band. I was the best marcher last year (not bragging, the drum major said so to the whole band during a practice when they weren't performing as good as we usually do. I try my hardest everyday. The teacher likes me. I recieved Outstanding Freshman Musician of the year. Do you think i will do better this year? more

Resolved Question: What is the thesis statement in this?

"Any roll-call of America's heroes invites one last question. Whom do Americans most admire? What are the signs by which they may be known? No doubt they stand for qualities that seem precious for the group good. Yet scores of worthies, men of high intellect and character, have missed the magic ranks of those- in uniform and buckskin, on horseback or trudging afoot or spanning the sky, at statesman's desk or inventor's work-bench- whom Everyman takes as his heroes." (476) "Certain professions have yielded few national idols. The artist, admired so keenly by another business civilization, the Renaissance, has not met with much popular honor in America... No American writer has received such homage as did Voltaire in Paris in 1778... The scholar as a type has never kindled American imagination... The average american is prone to believe that nobody becomes a teacher who can succeed at any other trade..." (477-79). "The law has trained more American heroes and leaders than has any other profession... But the lawyer qua lawyer, in America as elsewhere, has never been able to match the soldier or explorer as an inevitable hero type." (481) "The sort of man whom Americans admire, trust, and are willing to follow can be sketched with a few lines... At the basic level he must be self-respecting, decent, honorable, with a sense of fair play... He must be firm and self-confident in leadership: Davy Crockett's "Be always sure you're right, then go ahead!"... But a reputation for "genius" is unnecessary and may do the hero harm. An able man must not glory in his cleverness... Vanity or personal arrogance in any form is taboo." (482-83) "The hero of a democracy cannot invite public opinion to go to hell... He must pay tribute to conformity... Fundamentally the hero is required to be chaste, loyal, honest, humble before duty and before God. He is apt to have a dash of Puritan conscience, but the beauty of holiness is no more expected than is a sense of poetry... Hard work, tenacity, enterprise, and firmness in the face of odds are the qualities that Americans most admire, rather than originality or eloquence of tongue and pen." (485) "What is their common denominator? All of them, the people believe, loved America more deeply than any selfish consideration. The hero as made in America is a man who has the power and yet does not abuse it... A Chief Executive may then be called to office who rules as a minor Augustus over a gilded age, or serves as the genial host at a great barbecue." (487) "Our heroes, we believe, are cast in a different mould. Their ruling passion, as we see it, is a sense of duty, alert to the best among the stirring impulses of their time, and able to make that impulse effective. They translate the dream into act. The supreme leader is he who can hitch the great bandwagon to the star of American idealism." (487) I really think it's the fourth sentence that starts with "No doubt" because isn't that what he's trying to prove? Help, please. more

Resolved Question: I'm jealous of my friend. Help!?

I know I'm being really stupid, because I should be thankful for what I have, but I can't stop feeling jealous. My best friend and I are both good students. Our teacher signed us both up for a program where you go to Washington D.C. and you learn about leadership for 5 days. I got in, and she didn't. That was last week. Today, my friend let me know that she didn't get in because the program thought that she was overly talented at leadership. She gets to go to Australia for 21 days and go on tours of the outback and all that stuff. It's all prepaid. For mine, I stay in D.C. for 5 days and I have to pay 6 grand. She gets to travel across the world for 21 days, all expenses paid. I'm feeling really jealous. I know I should be happy for her and thankful that I got into the program, but I just really feel bad. I get better grades than she does and I feel like I'm a great leader. I know I should be happy for her, and part of me is, but the other parts feel really jealous. Can anyone help me?Thanks rockstar. I know that this shouldn't affect our friendship and stuff, but I still kind of feel bad that I feel like more of a leader than she is, and she gets to reach higher heights than me. more

Resolved Question: Is this story idea any good?

Okay, I want honest opinions so be as brutal as you can because i would rather know know and stop then continue and waste my time. So here goes: 4 teenage girls are all different nationalities representing North, South, East and West , are all sent to a boarding school for girls who are "special" (there are several). They are told this boarding school is for girls who are actually destined to be part of the great battle against normal human kind, however they do not know that the school is actually supposed to be teaching them to control and hide their powers and the headmaster and teachers want to overthrowthe human race so that they become the superior beings. All girls who go to this school have powers and when these 4 girls find out what is actually happening they run away. So the book is spread into 4 parts each told by a different girl and when they finally find someone who believes them, they set out to inform the other schools about this and a secret war is started with these 2 girls as the leaders of the whole thing. okies, comments would be helpful thanks.Okay, firstly i wasdn't expecting so many answers so quickly and secondly, i want it to be strange, and slightly wierd (like me lol) but also suitable for a family book.At the end of the paragraph, its supposed to be 4. :-P more

Resolved Question: Need help choosing what career to study for in college...?

Ok, so I've got a year before going to college, I've thought over and over what I should study, and I have no idea anymore. I thought about being a teacher, but I really can't picture myself being happy 20 years from now in that field of study. Here are some things i'm good at & somethings that describe me; I'm some what good at math -i'm a bit creative -i've been told to be a good leader -i love to write even though my writing such as in stories is not outstanding -I really like doing things on the computer -i have good memory -i like music -i have a great interest in learning about other cultures -i like travel &i get bored easily (very hyperactive). Does anyone have any idea what I could possible choose that would be a good paying job, and that would be at least a bit interesting for me? I thought about taking my first year in college as undecided, yet i doubt that would guarantee me choosing something that i like rather than it being rushed. The jobs I once wanted to have, or what i wanted to be were; Politician Writer Math teacher Rock Star! (lol...i don't need to explain why that didn't work out) Movie Director (why i said no- i figured I needed to have a lot of connections to make it to the top) Lawyer (I let emotion get the best of me sometimes...so no) Video game designer (I have no idea how many people i might have to work with and idk if its a job which is hiring a lot of new people) So any suggestions??? And yes, I know at least one person might say that perhaps college is not for me; but it is. I really appreciate any suggestions; even if its just a way that i could find a job for me. thank you! more

Resolved Question: Homework Help... American Heroes Questions?

I really need help with this and it counts for a pretty big grade for school. Nobody has to tell me the full answer but they can at least help me through it. Anything would be very helpful. Read this excerpt from Dixon Wecter's "The Hero in America" and answer the following questions. Link to excerpt: http://xroads.virginia.edu/~ug03/radio/a… 1. What claim does the text address? (Claim: A statement that focuses on an issue within a broad topic. It is a general belief or assertion about this issue and is expressed without support, warrant, and proof of its validity. For example, within baseball, "Good pitching is essential for winning the pennant".) 2. What point-of-view does the author adopt about this claim? 3. What is the author's thesis? 4. Give two examples of evidence from the text. 5. At whom is the article/excerpt directed? 6. What conclusion does the author establish? 7. Is the argument convincing? Why or why not? 8. What is your opinion about the author's claim or position? (be brief) If you can't get to the link, here's the excerpt: "Any roll-call of America's heroes invites one last question. Resolved Question: Chances of getting into Northwestern or the University of Chicago?

I'm working on applying to colleges now for Fall of 2011 and am curious as to whether or not it seems realistic that I'd get into either of these schools. I've got a really interesting high school experience, since I began high school (mainly my freshman year) not working hard at all and having a GPA of 3.05 at the end of my freshman year. Even though I didn't do too well my freshman year, I was still in two honors classes that year and was somewhat involved. Sophomore year I got a 3.93 first semester, and second semester I had a 4.6 with three honors classes. Junior year I got a 4.8 throughout the entire year and was in four honors classes. Basically, I wasn't a good student and now am. Sophomore year I really picked up my work ethic and joined a lot more things, so here's my involvement as of Junior year: - President and Founder of Chinese Club - Junior Board Leader of NHS - Freshman Mentor - Peer Tutor - Member of Challenge Day Committee, PRIDE, Yearbook, Math Team, and Eco Club I was also a swimmer my freshman and sophomore years, and played hockey in the spring of my freshman year. I got a 29 on the ACT and am confident that I can get a 30 or 31, but that remains to be seen. I've also got over 150 hours of community service at my hospital. Additionally, I worked really hard during my Junior year and developed very strong relationships with my teachers, so I think they'd write great recommendation letters for me. Anyways, does it sound realistic that I could get into either of these schools? I also have an interesting history with the University of Chicago, so that may be a plus. more

Resolved Question: Best place for college in the UK (can't decide)?

Ok so, if you live currently in the UK or have lived there, this question is for you. I want to transfer to a school in the UK, and I've decided between Universities of Hull @ Scarborough, Leeds, Birmingham, and Brighton. I've kind of nixed Scarborough, and now it's a tie between Leeds, Brighton and Birminham. I know Birmingham is huge, industrial and is Britian's "sad city" so to speak, but I've heard the uni is great, very nice campus, and in a nice part of the city. Also, I was reading that Birmingham is the local education capitol, and because I want to be a teacher, that's important to me. I know Leeds is also a huge city, and U. Leeds is one of the leaders in research. I was going to go there for spanish originally, but I've decided on education for all my schools. The campus seems alright, but I'm wondering if it's a good education school. And Brighton, I know it has a large LGBT population, which doesnt bother me at all, and it's very trendy with a lot of nightlife, clubs, etc. It also has a sea coast and is closer to the UK than Birmingham and Leeds. So I'm wondering what you guys' take is on all of these cities, what you know about the unis, and generally helping me decide I guess. I'm seriously tied between Birmingham, leeds, and Brighton, because all of them seem to have a lot of things going for them. I work in a visitor's center and I talk to people from the UK and all of them have said good/bad things about all of them, so I really can't decide!! Please help as much as you can. It means a lot, I really want to do this~ more

Voting Question: Gentle Leader/Halti doesn't work!?

I have a year and a half cocker/golden mix who is a horrible walker! She pulls, barks and lunges while we walk. We have tried just about everything (clicker training, treats, front harness, gentle leader, halit, etc) and nothing works. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get her to be a better walker? I can not afford individual training and we have already done 2 obedience classes (the teacher admitted she is just easily distracted and hard to keep focused on treats long enough to get her to listen). She does well inside but once we move outside everything we have practiced goes out the window. Thanks! more

Resolved Question: Should I join the FBLA club in my high school?

At my high school we are required to take a Business Tech class (Typing, career choice, etc) in our freshman year. My teacher mentioned the Future Business Leaders of America club as a good club to join. I live in Alabama and I'm required to have 24 credits before I can graduate. I know the club won't give me credits, but surely that would be a good thing to have? What are the benefits of the FBLA? I know it won't count much unless I become an officer...and idea on how to do that? more

We've got a gang of tax cheating clueless leftists trying to steer our ship of state right over a cliff, we've got corporate gangsters stealing us blind, and we can't even run a ridiculous cash-for-clunkers program without losing $26 billion of the taxpayers' money, much less build a hybrid car. But instead of getting mad, everyone sits around and nods their heads when the politicians say, 'trust me the economy is getting better..' Better? You've got to be kidding. This is America , not the damned, 'Titanic'. I'll give you a sound bite: 'Throw all the Democrats out along with Obama!' You might think I'm getting senile, that I've gone off my rocker, and maybe I have. But someone has to speak up. I hardly recognize this country anymore.. The most famous business leaders are not the innovators but the guys in handcuffs.. While we're fiddling in Afghanistan , Iran is completing their nuclear bombs and missiles and nobody seems to know what to do. And the liberal press is waving 'pom-poms' instead of asking hard questions. That's not the promise of the ' America ' my parents and yours traveled across the ocean for. I've had enough. How about you? I'll go a step further. You can't call yourself a patriot if you're not outraged. This is a fight I'm ready and willing to have. The Biggest 'C' is Crisis! (Iacocca elaborates on nine C's of leadership, with crisis being the first.) Leaders are made, not born. Leadership is forged in times of crisis. It's easy to sit there with thumb up your butt and talk theory. Or send someone else's kids off to war when you've never seen a battlefield yourself. It's another thing to lead when your world comes tumbling down. On September 11, 2001, we needed a strong leader more than any other time in our history. We needed a steady hand to guide us out of the ashes. A hell of a mess, so here's where we stand. We're immersed in a bloody war now with no plan for winning and no plan for leaving. But our soldiers are dying daily. We're running the biggest deficit in the history of the world, and it's getting worse every day! We've lost the manufacturing edge to Asia , while our once-great companies are getting slaughtered by health care costs. Gas prices are going to skyrock again, and nobody in power has a lucid plan to open drilling to solve the problem. This country has the largest oil reserves in the WORLD, and we cannot drill for it because the politicians have been bought by the flea-hugging environmentalists. Our schools are in a complete disaster because of the teachers union. Our borders are like sieves and they want to give all illegals amnesty and free healthcare. The middle class is being squeezed to death every day. These are times that cry out for leadership. But when you look around, you've got to ask: 'Where have all the leaders gone?' Where are the curious, creative communicators? Where are the people of character, courage, conviction, omnipotence, and common sense? I may be a sucker for alliteration, but I think you get the point.. Name me a leader who has a better idea for homeland security than making us take off our shoes in airports and throw away our shampoo? We've spent billions of dollars building a huge new bureaucracy, and all we know how to do is react to things that have already happened. Everyone's hunkering down, fingers crossed, hoping the government will make it better for them. Now, that's just crazy.. Deal with life. Name me an industry leader who is thinking creatively about how we can restore our competitive edge in manufacturing. Who would have believed that there could ever be a time when 'The Big Three' referred to Japanese car companies? How did this happen, and more important, look what Obama did about it! Name me a government leader who can articulate a plan for paying down the debit, or solving theenergy crisis, or managing the health care problem. The silence is deafening. But these are the crises that are eating away at our country and milking the middle class dry. I have news for the Chicago gangsters in Congress. We didn't elect you to turn this country into a losing European Socialist state. What is everybody so afraid of? That some bonehead on NBC or CNN news will call them a name? Give me a break. Why don't you guys show some spine for a change? Had Enough? Hey, I'm not trying to be the voice of gloom and doom here. I'm trying to light a fire. I'm speaking out because I h more

Resolved Question: Should i snitch on a cheater?

I tried so hard for my Ancient Rome economy essay ( 13 years old) and my social studies teacher said it was good but she reduced my marks because she assumed i copied and pasted. Now, another girl in my class who did copy and paste, ( which i saw and she admitted openly) got a higher mark than me. Should i tell the teacher for what she has done? I got 17/20 and i know i should be happy with this but it doesnt feel right because it wasnt her own. If it was i wouldnt compare at all. She got 19/20. This is my assignment ( dont have to read it ! LOL) The economy of the early Republic was primarily focused on farming and trading. Agricultural trading developed in Italy and by the 1st Century BC a diversity of olives and grapes was produced. While North Africa supplied a variety of grains the Roman’s main exports were olive oil and wine. Ancient Rome was a slave based society whose main concern was to feed the immense population of citizens. Farmers donated financial tax to the government allowing both the Republican and Imperial leaders to gain popularity as well as being able to feed the people at no monetary cost. Unfortunately this left the farmers with little incentive to produce more crops as producing more crops translated to paying more taxes. While the transportation of foods controlled the trading production there was also a vast exchange of other goods including farm products, livestock, silk from China, wild animals from Africa and many more from all parts of Europe, Asia and Africa. The currency of the Republic consisted of coins including the aureus, (gold) denarius, (silver) sestertius (bronze) and dupondius (copper). They were used from approximately the middle of the third century BC until the third century AD. The coins circulated throughout the Empire and even beyond – some being found in India. The value of a single, copper coin was equivalent to a pound of copper only weighing less. The imagery of the coins only became of an importance when Julius Caesar beared his own portrait on coins. Julius was the first living individual to have his portrait issued on the coins, prior to that, it was with the portraits of ancestors. The exact reason the Roman coinage system debased constantly is unknown but common theories involve trading with India. The largest industry in Ancient Rome was mining, which provided large stones for large building developments, weapons and tools that conquered the ancient west. Italy provided marble for the structures. Cities and towns established pottery, glassware, weapons, tools and jewellery. For military and transportations use, the Romans became skilled at constructing roads. They were necessary for their empire, as roads allowed the army to move rapidly, as well as transporting cattle and vehicles. The roads expanded to over 400,000km over the years, were created such as; vehicles were forbidden in urban areas except for the exception of married women and business men. Trade by land was only convenient if good were being transported in short distances, sometimes hauled by labour slaves. Most large goods such as foods, metals, stone and building supplies were shipped. The Roman navy, under Augustus was in threat as the severe weather, imprecise charts and bad navigation equipment could wreck on the voyage. Yet, despite the dangers, there was no better way trading cargo than by sea. The foundation of slavery in Ancient Rome covered up to 20% of the entire population (no less than 53,000 people). Those held in this position were less of a person in the legal system and weren’t entitled to marry. A slave’s price varied on their capability and skills. For example a slave trained in medicine was worth 50 agricultural slaves. They were the property of their owners and they yearned for freedom and escape. By the late republic the economy was reliant on slaves for both skilled and unskilled. Free citizens of Ancient Rome were divided into two classes; Patricians and Plebeians. These two classes were forbidden to intermarry and were categorized into their groups since birth. Although not impossible, it was highly difficult for the lower class to emerge into the higher social class. The distinction between the two classes was mainly based on wealth. The man in the family ‘owned’ his family, children and slaves just as he owned his swords and was entitled to control them as he wished. Women gained respect from their husbands or son. PATRICIANS: •These family groups claimed to be related to the ancestors (Romulus himself). •Sewed a purple stripe down their tunics to show their significance. •Large land owners. •Large banquets for dinner. •Wealthy higher class. •Each family member obtains individual rooms. PLEBIANS: •Working class of Rome. •Lived in small apartment houses. •No bathrooms – used pots that were thrown out of the window. •Cooked meals in public ovens •On more

Voting Question: If they can lay off 10% of public school teachers, why not 100% --end govt./socialist schooling now!!!?

So the libs are up in arms now that 10% of teachers in my district are being laid off. I am sad that it isn't 100% of public school teachers. Don't give me that nonsense that teachers are molding tomorrow's leaders, they are a bunch of underworked, overpaid socialists who want to indoctrinate our kids by teaching them gay sex is good, heterosexuality is evil, America is evil but Cuba is good; Our Founding Fathers were evil but Malcolm X and Che Guevara are cool; capitalism is wrong, but communism is right; God is dead but Islam is a great religion. So I say, don't come crying to me. I would like to see an end to government schooling in this country and to see these indoctrination centers shut down and these lazy, useless, overpaid communists forced into unemployment. If I am not paying for your health care you can be damn sure I am not paying for your so called education. more

Voting Question: How should I deal with this?

Ok, so I'm a teen, and like all teens, I want my freedom. At least to a certain degree. Let me start at the beginning: I am a very dedicated martial artist, and I have recently acquired a very high rank in karate, apart from practicing swordsmanship and archery. I live across the road from a school, behind which are huge open plains and fields. Recently, I acquired a bow with a very good draw weight, but the arrows go too far for me to use in my back yard. So I was considering using the fields behind the school (which is not trespassing, I've checked) for archery practice, but my parents won't allow me to do it. They say that it's too dangerous to be out on my own, and that someone could hurt me. I'm very well aware of all that could happen to me in the street, but seriously? It's a couple of hundred metres across the road! My parents have always been incredibly over-protective of me. They hesitate about letting me go to the movies with my friends, they won't let me walk outside even just to take the trash out in the dark, and they won't let me go walking down the street on my own! I can understand that they're protective of me, and that they care about me, but when it starts to interfere with my martial arts, I can't allow it. I have to practice my archery in that field because there's no where else for me to practice. I have often demanded to know why my parents don't trust me (do note the fact that I have a very high rank in karate, and can use a sword, not to mention the bow I'll be with when I'm out there) and why any random person would even think of attacking a girl who is holding a bow and a quiver of arrows. Adults, also note that I'm considered very responsible by every one around me, careful, organized and dependable. I am most often given trustee jobs at school, such as collecting money alone, and have been chosen as Grade level leader and representative for the Student Representative Council more than twice. Some teachers have even asked for my input during class, and taken my advice seriously. I've been given the award of Role-model student several times, and I have a high grade average. So I'm trustworthy, and I wouldn't abuse my freedom. All my friends have the freedom they want. They can go out at night, go to the movies on their own if they want to, go shopping without their mother there to supervise them, and go for long walks to meet other friends and such. It's very unfair if I can't be the same. What can I say to my parents to let them go out to practice? How should I deal with this?Okay, I have checked with the local police, I have asked the school for timings, and I have taken precuations to ensure that I won't be shooting towards the school area. I've done everything I can to make sure this will work. more

Resolved Question: Scorpois and other signs, what is "Power"?

All the astrology info we read talks about the 'power' of Scorpio, Pluto, and the 8th house and many Scorpios boast about their power but what really is that "power ". We all have Scorpio and the eight hose in our charts so we all have that "power" but it is more pronounced in the lives of Scorpios or highly Plutonian persons. Those houses show where our decisions are hardest. No human being is powerful. The only power we have is the power to choose. There are powerful forces around us.Some are evil some are good. We get to choose the force ( good or evil) that manifests itself through us. Not that we are not blank slates as we have the knowledge of right and wrong and we can do some things on our own. What ever we do to others we first do to ourselves and it has been first done to us by what ever force is manifesting through us - if we play mind games we have first played ourselves into thinking that we are powerful, that what we are doing is right or that we are incapable of doing things the right way; and we have first been played by whatever tells us it is right. I think in the first 6 houses we go about doing things without any real thought - like we move about because we know we can but we don't think of what it is that makes us able to move- like our brain , muscles . The 7th house is where we become aware of our selves, it is a mirror. In the first 6 houses it was just us. In the seventh we become aware of the other and thereby ourselves as the other person is merely a reflection of us . It is also where love of another ( Venus) enters. The eighth house takes it to another level, now that we are aware that someone else exists what will we do about it? do we continue to do things our way ( Mars) or do we do things the other persons way ( Venus). Actually we are to do things both ways.Pluto's job is to pull us inside ourselves so we can think long and hard about what to do as we can't take back what we do even if we correct it. Pluto malfunctions and causes depression and brooding. Scorpio is also ruled by Mars because we are still the persons we were before being introduced to the other. If we choose to disregard that person we become selfish ( negative Mars) and move on to become the self righteous teacher ( Neg Sag) . If we choose to disregard ourselves we become too selfless (negative Venus) and we move on to become the mindless follower (instead of teaching- Sag - all we do is learn) .If we can look out for ourself and the other person than we have passed the test. We become the teacher and student. From an elemental point of view, If we choose selfishness we go on to the twelfth house and we take on the negative side of Neptune - deluding our selves and others, living off others/ preying. Worst we are unable to connect with the source of our existence because we failed to connect with someone on our own level . If too selfless we become too other worldly forgetting that bills must be paid, and being doormats. If we pass the test we become the person who can bring the spiritual to the natural- the sober artist, the spiritual leader etc. We may feel powerful because we throw all our energy into doing something, how ever we neglect other things while doing so. E.g. with Scorpio in the second I may put all my efforts into making money and I might become rich; however I have neglected the other 2nd house values- self respect, principles. I became rich at the cost of principles so I am still poor in that department. People may respect my money and position which give me " power" but thy don't respect me as a person because of how I made my money. If I were to balance both principles and money I would not be that "powerful " as I would not be as rich or it would take longer for me to get a that rich. yet I would be well off in both ways. So the eighth house is the power house because it is where we get to choose and the choices that we make will impact our lives and the lives of others. It is where we get to choose good over evil; and good is always mutually beneficial. We allow apart of us to die so that we can give to the other but we live because the other gives back to us. This transforms us but we choose our change- internally. At least that's how it should be. more

Resolved Question: Who should I ask for a reference?

I am doing a babysitting interview with someone who works in a company and she can get me clients in my neighbourhood to babysit for, so this has to be nothing but professional. I've already finished up my resume, but now I need to find 2-3 references. I already have 1, from my Youth Leader at a day camp I volunteer in. I need 1-2 more. Who should I ask? I don't want to ask family and friends because I know no matter what they'll say good things about me. Or teachers, because it's summer! I haven't volunteered anywhere else (but I was going to). Who should I ask? more

Resolved Question: Why is my teacher unfair?

Hello everyone, In year six and the previous years, I was the schools best student both behavior wise and smart wise. I had everything for a good leader until I got in year seven. It all started after the school voted for me as "Head Boy", a position of "great" importance, and i thought life was going to be great. During my head boy period, whenever I slipped up or broke the rules, the teacher would always say to me, "You shouldn't be doing this as head boy!" and etc. I got really mad when she used that and treated me unfairly. She would punish me for the smallest mistakes and I had to go the principal several times, yest never lost my position. After semester one, the position was up for grabs and my revenge just started. In semester two, I was the bad boy. I acted rudely, kept talking consistently, and didn't show respect. I was the class clown and everyone agreed. Of course, I wasn't the only bad boy there was my friend Hermon who was about equal. Whenever me and him did something, my teacher would let him off and not me. Here is an example, Me and Hermon were laughing and interrupting the class all the way through to lunch. My teacher was getting mad and he ordered Hermon to go to the next class.....while he was still laughing. I asked her why? and she said, "He is showing more self control!" Bullsh*t! He kept popping his and kept on laughing and the teacher did nothing. She made me stay the whole lunch break! Whenever I ask her why do you punish me the most, she always changes subject! She is being so unfair and I have come to a stand point: Behave or not? Please answer! more

Resolved Question: Is pork allowed in Christianity?

The Quran prohibits the consumption of pork in no less than 4 different places. It is prohibited in Quran, 2:173, Quran, 5:3, Quran, 6:145 and Quran, 16:15 "Frobidden to you for food are: dead meat, blood, the flesh of swine, and that on which hath been invoked the name of other than Allah" [Quran, 5:3] The Bible prohibits the consumption of pork, in the book of Leviticus 11:7-8 "And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be cloven footed, yet he cheweth not the cup, he is unclean for you". "Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcass shall ye not touch, they are unclem to you" [Leviticus, 11:7-8] Pork also prohibited in the Book of Deuteronomy 14:8 and the Book of Isaiah 65:2-5 Pig is one of the filthiest animals on the earth: The pig is one of the filthiest animals on earth. It lives and thrives on muck, faeces and dirt. It is the best scavenger that I know that God has produced it. Pig is the most shameless animal: The pig is the most shameless animal on the face of the earth. It is the only animal that invites its friends to have sex with its mate. In America, most people consume pork. Many times after swapping of wives; i.e many say "You sleep with my wife and I will sleep with your wife." If you eat pigs then you behave like pigs. According to Cnn and Foxnews 95% Americans have had premarital sex! Http://www.foxnews.com/wires/2006Dec19/0,4670,PremaritalSex,00.html Christ Jesus cast demons into pigs: The demons begged Jesus, "If you drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs" [Matthew 8:31] Jesus said he not came for destroy any law: "Think not that i am come to destroy the LAW, or the PROPHETS. I did not come to destroy, but to Fulfil the law" [Matthew 5:17] Fulfil means "FULFILLING THE PROPHECY, NOT CHANGING THE OLD TESTAMENT" "I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, not one letter, not a DOT, will dissappear from the low until all that must happen has happened" [Matthew 5:18] "Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the SAME will be called least in the kingdom of heaven.." [Matthew 5:19] Meaning Anyone who breaks the least commandments of God and teaches others for same to do it, then he can not enter heaven. "..BUT whoever practices and teaches these commands will be Great in the kingdom of heaven" [Matthew 5:19] And anyone who will follow all the commandments of God, he will be great in the Kingdom of Heaven. "For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teacher of the law, you will certainly NOT ENTER THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN" [Matthew 5:20] Read >>you will certainly NOT ENTER THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN. "Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: 'the teacher of the Law and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. So you MUST obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach" [Luke 23:1-3] We clearly see in these verses that Jesus did not prohibit for the Old testament to be followed, but only warned his followers to not follow in the way the current religious leaders of the law(the jewish Rabies) were following it. "And, Behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that i may have eternal life" [Matthew 19:16] "And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is God: but if you thou eternal into life, Keep the commandments." [Matthew 19:17] As James said: "You see that a person is Justified by works and not by faith Alone" [James 2:24] more

Voting Question: Sick and tired of the blame game?

I am a 60 year old retired black ,I was born in S.C , my father was a career Air Force Sargent,as a child we moved around the country till I was about 9 years old and we settled just outside NYC in westchester ,I suffered from dyslexia as a child so it was very hard for me in school ,all teachers including the black one just move me along from grade to grade even though I could not read well , but this one white teacher who was from Alabama ,mind you this 1958 or 59 no telling what his background was,but he took an interest in my problem he worked with me thru 5th and 6th grade and with his help by the time I left elementary school I was an A student and read on a 9th grade level needless to said high school was a breeze .I mention because not one of the black teacher I had and there were many did not give any help except to pass me along to the next teacher .But for the help of Mr.----- , there is no telling what my life would have been like.I finished high school ,Joined the Air Force served in S.A.C ,received an honorable discharge used the G.I Bill to go to college ,then joined the railroad as Cust.Serv. Rep. and with hard work I became a suprv. with plenty of people under me white and black and we work very well together , So after I left my job do to illness I took my buyout and pension and I figured living in the south with no worries about money would be great,Now of course we northerners have heard about the racism in the south but I was not prepared for what I found , it was shocking the biggest racist are we blacks. I have lived here for 5 years and I find that the older blacks who have seen so many civil right changes in the last 40 years talk and act like this is the 1950s ,they blame whites for everything whip up hatred and have the youth believing somebody owes them ,instead of stressing hard work and study ,it is the white man fault we drop out school and do not have a high school diploma or rob people or sell drug and go to jail of make babies they do not pay for ,Why don't our black leaders hammer that instead of racial divide,Now I know what I am saying will make people call me names but I know what hard work will do and how good self respect feels, stop blaming people the past is just that the past..I learned along time ago that not all whites are bad and certainly not all blacks are good. more

I can cook, I can write, I can design (fashion and interior), I have expertise in all subject matter, I can teach, I can do things like manage, I can be a leader in a group, I was once a Sunday school teacher (although, I am an atheist now), I can do pretty much all things except maybe construction jobs. Well, I am not bragging here. But, right now, I am 20 and taking up teaching courses. Will graduate on October 2011, that is, if I won't quit one of these days. The problem is, HOW WILL I KNOW WHAT I AM GONNA DO IN THE FUTURE? Right now, I really wanna be an assistant in any fashion outlet or a writer in any fashion magazine, blah blah... Resolved Question: Should President Obama pull all the troops out of the middle east?

Sometimes it's better to let them lead there own lives in the best way they can, haven't we got our own problems to sort out. Unemployment, cuts everywhere, feeling like we pay for the rest of the world's development but our societies are falling apart feeling, All this money wasted on arms, we could have colonized the moon by now. I live in England and we see the crumbling walls and division. These "troops" could help us rebuild our aim in life. If the USA still feels under threat from the Middle East just remember that your country still owns it's own car companies, telephone companies, chocolate companies, power companies, etc... Since Reagan the USA leaders seems to have lost track of reality, refusing to learn from other country's failures, shock and awe(what is that all about?). Education is the only way beyond any hostility. Give your children guns and you're a terrorist, give your children a book and you're a teacher. more

To figure out your birth number, add all the numbers in your birth date together, like in the example, until there is only one digit. Example: March 20, 1950 3 + 20 + 1950 = 1973 = 1 + 9 + 7 + 3 = 20 = 2 + 0 = 2 2 is the birth number in this example. 1 The originator 2 The peacemaker 3 The life of the party 4 The conservative 5 The non conformist 6 The romantic 7 The intellectual 8 The big shot 9 The performer 1 The originator 1's are originals. Resolved Question: Would you be more likely to vote for a non-lawyer?

We have very few candidates these days that aren't lawyers. Would you be willing to vote for candidates with their roots in other fields? Businessmen, Farmers, Teachers, Religious Leaders? All of these things were present in the government until the 1900's, and things worked just fine then. Given that lawyers are a very small minority of american citizens, don't you think people who have something in common with their constituents may "get it" a little better? more

Resolved Question: Could someone please explain this dream for me?

I was just leaving my biochem class, but instead of taking place in the classroom that I had it in last year in my highschool, it was in a different classroom on a college campus. everybody was walking across this huge lawn in the middle of the campus, and we all had to go to a meeting either at a church that was on the left or a building that was on the right. (It was like good vs evil - good people went to the meeting at a church and evil people went to the other building.) Most of my friends were going to the church, but I had one friend in the dream that does not exist in real life that I knew was supposed to go to the evil side so I tried to bring her there by telling her that I would go with her. I was walking into the building when I realized that my friend ran away to the church, but I still went into the evil building anyway. When I walked in there were a bunch of little kids playing in a gym, and I had to walk up to the fifth floor and on each floor on the way up had different ages playing in gyms. but when I got to the fifth floor there were a bunch of people sitting on really tall stools. So I sat on one and the leader started talking and told everyone to turn off the switches on their necks, so I reached to the back of my neck and realized I didn't have one, so obviously I wasn't evil. But I listened to what they were saying anyway. Then this girl that I somewhat know who was a freshman last year at my school walked in (she is really quiet and sweet and nice) and I was confused when I saw her. The leader told everyone that there was someone that wasn't supposed to be here because there wasn't enough seats for this new girl. So I got up to leave and I saw the back of the girl's neck and there was a switch and I gasped and she turned around and looked at me and smiled. She had fangs and her eyes were glowing red. I ran out of the building as fast as I could (this time I went out the same door I came in but didn't have any stairs to go down... lol) and ran right over to the church where I saw a bunch of people leaving it like one of my best friends and my biochem teacher. I started talking to my friend and then I woke up. NOTE: This dream kinda reminded me of the movie "The Stand" that I watched in my biochem class last year, but it was a while ago and I wasn't thinking about it at all lately, so I don't know what caused this dream at all. I wasn't thinking about my teacher/that class/ that "evil" girl that walked in either. Does anyone think they could possibly tell me what this dream means? It was really wierd!!! I've had many VERY strange dreams before, but nothing like this with the whole "good vs evil" thing in it.@Allyssa : no, not that I can think of... I just have a feeling that this one could mean something because it acutally had a theme unlike all of my other dreams that always seemed so much more random and weird and when I tried to look up meanings for them, they never made sense.@ R MOORE : Nope, haha. I'm a Leo. more

Resolved Question: Why do top clinton officials believe that the only thing that can save obama is a TERRORIST attack?

http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/434315b2-8ea6-11df-8a67-00144feab49a.html Obama faces growing credibility crisis By Edward Luce in Washington Published: July 13 2010 18:51 | Last updated: July 13 2010 18:51 Robert Gibbs, Barack Obama’s chief spokesman, got into hot water this week for daring to speak the truth – that the Democrats could lose control of the House of Representatives in November. But it could be even worse than that. Contrary to pretty much every projection until now, Democratic control of the Senate is also starting to coming into question. While Mr Obama’s approval ratings have continued to fall, and now hover at dangerously close to 40 per cent according an ABC-Washington Post poll published on Tuesday, the fate of his former colleagues in the Senate looks even worse. Add to that the continuing woes of Harry Reid, the Senate Democratic majority leader, in Nevada, where the Republican party’s recent nomination of Sharron Angle, a far-right and highly eccentric Tea Party supporter, appear to have had no positive effect on Mr Reid’s prospects, and the Grand Old party has a good shot at taking control of both houses of Congress. Worse for Mr Obama, political scientists say that at this stage in the calendar, there is almost nothing he can do about it. “If you ask me where the silver lining is for President Obama, I have to say I cannot see one,” says Bill Galston, a former Clinton official, who has been predicting for months the Democrats could lose the House. “Just as BP’s failure to cap the well has been so damaging, Obama’s failure to cap unemployment will be his undoing. There is nothing he can do to affect the jobless rate before November.” The direction of the data could hardly be worse. According to Democracy Corps, a group headed by Stanley Greenberg, a liberal pollster who is a close friend of Rahm Emanuel, Mr Obama’s chief of staff, a majority of US citizens see Mr Obama as “too liberal”. Astonishingly, 55 per cent of citizens think Mr Obama is a “socialist” against only 39 per cent who do not share that diagnosis. The same poll shows 48 per cent support for Republicans against just 42 per cent for Democrats. The numbers are eerily similar to 2006, except that it was George W. Bush’s Republicans who were on the receiving end four years ago. --READ HERE--- “The bottom line here is that Americans don’t believe in President Obama’s leadership,” says Rob Shapiro, another former Clinton official and a supporter of Mr Obama. “He has to find some way between now and November of demonstrating that he is a leader who can command confidence and, short of a 9/11 event or an Oklahoma City bombing, I can’t think of how he could do that.” ---[SO HOW COULD THIS "EVENT" SAVE HIM?] In private, informal advisors to Mr Obama are almost as negative. According to one, the US public’s loss of confidence in Mr Obama’s leadership is a factor above and beyond their dissatisfaction over the state of the real economy, which continues to slow as last year’s $787bn stimulus starts to run dry. The adviser, who asked to remain anonymous, said the public did not know what Mr Obama really believed. Examples include his lukewarm support last year for a public option in the healthcare bill and his equally lukewarm support today for a Senate bill that would extend unemployment insurance and aid state governments to keep teachers in their jobs. In both cases, Mr Obama has offered only token, negotiable, support. “I never thought I would say this, but even I’m unsure what President Obama really believes,” says the adviser. “Instead of outsourcing decisions to Congress, he should spell out his bottom line. That is what leaders are for.” Next week, Mr Obama is likely to sign a historic Wall Street re-regulation bill into law. Earlier this year he did the same for healthcare. But polls show the public either does not care, or even opposes these otherwise big reforms. “The longer this goes on, the more it looks like Obama wasted his first year on healthcare,” said the outside adviser. “It’s still the economy, stupid.” .Copyright The Financial Times Limited 2010. Resolved Question: Illegals admit they are illegal to police why do they think the dream act should dismiss all charges aganist?

Their secret was out: Despite their upbringing in middle America, their academic success and their network of native-born friends, they had no permission to be in the United States. Their parents had brought them here illegally as children. The Robleses, now out of jail but fighting removal in Immigration Court, are among thousands of young illegal immigrants in similar situations, living at risk of being expelled to countries they barely remember. They are known in some circles as "Dream Act" kids, named after proposed legislation that would grant them legal status. This month, a Harvard University student who came from Mexico at age 4, Eric Balderas, joined their ranks after he was arrested by immigration agents at the San Antonio Airport. Their cases underscore a conflict in the Obama administration's approach to immigration enforcement. Even though the president supports the Dream Act — which would provide a path to legalization for illegal immigrants brought here as children who enroll either in college or the military — his enforcement bureaucracy continues to pursue deportation cases against the increasing number of students who would be protected by it. It's part of a push that is on track to remove a record 400,000 illegal immigrants this year. "It highlights the inconsistencies in immigration policies," said William Perez, a Claremont Graduate University professor and author of a book about illegal-immigrant students called "We Are Americans." Immigration authorities say they use their discretion and rarely deport students, particularly once their teachers, coaches, friends and elected representatives speak out on their behalf. Balderas, for example, was placed in "deferred status," meaning the government won't remove him unless he gets in trouble. But even so, the young people remain in legal limbo, often unable to land a professional job once earning a degree. "These cases illustrate the need for comprehensive immigration reform," said Virginia Kice, spokeswoman for Immigration and Customs Enforcement. "ICE uses its discretion on a case-by-case basis, as appropriate." Carlos and Rafael Robles were on the way to visit a friend at Harvard — not Balderas — when they were arrested. They spent a weekend in jail before friends posted $5,000 bond apiece. They had to travel to Buffalo again recently for a court hearing after an immigration judge turned down their request to move their case to Chicago. Their next court date is next year. Their father works for a car dealer, and their mother is an assistant at a mortgage company. They came to the U.S. by airplane five years ago on tourist visas and never went back. "We want to go to school and to work here," Carlos Robles said. Several members of their community have written letters on their behalf, said Robert Carroll, a teacher at Palatine High School. "Gee whiz, these are just two quality kids," he said. "They are everything you would want your kids to be. These kids are going to be leaders in their communities — taxpayers, not tax recipients." The Dream Act, sponsored by Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., and others, came up eight votes short in the Senate in 2007, when an effort to overhaul immigration law fell apart. The following year, then-candidate Barack Obama urged its passage during a presidential debate. But Obama has done little to push the bill as president. Some opponents say the measure would grant "amnesty" to a far larger circle of illegal immigrants than the college students who have become the faces of the movement. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/ct-metstudent-deportations-0627-20100626,0,4217306.story Why are illegals trying to erode our laws ?
