Resolved Question: Name my characters? Slasher movie esque story.?

It's for a slasher. Nothing groundbreaking. Nothing new. I'm just fitting the slasher movie formula because I feel like writing and I can't focus on my other more serious project right now. But yeah :3 Anyway, the characters. Chara 1. _____ Cunningham. He's a boy, somewhere between the ages of 17 and 20, caucasian and lean, but somewhat toned. He has average features and a laid back personality, but at times can be a bully and take things too far. He's single, but looking to score with one of the girls over the weekend. He isn't rich, but his parents are fairly well off, upper middle class I guess. He isn't the leader of any clique or group, but being the wealthier one of his friends, most finance related responsibilities fall on him. He buys pot and alcohol for his friends, but doesn't seem to mind. Chara 2. ____ _____ between the ages of 18 and 20. Somewhat muscular, not ripped or athletic but considerably more toned than the other guys at the weekend retreat. Either Puerto Rican, Italian of some South American background, only ancestral however, he's an American through and through. He has a penchant for aviator sunglasses and he's the "second in command" of the group. He's dating Chara 5. It's an on-off relationship and they break up alot, but they are currently together. Chara 3. ___ ___, Mixed race African-American and Caucasian. Between the age of 18 and 20. Average build, not lean like Chara 1 but not as toned as Chara 2. Character is a pothead and a stoner, more so than the others who do it recreationally. Character is the comic relief of the group as he hopelessly tries to get the girl and is obviously surpassed by the other guys. Characters main reason for being within the group is he is the only one who has his own car *some of the others can drive, but need to resort to using their parents cars with permission*. Somewhat goofy and can take things too far, likes to joke about. Chara 4. ___ ___ age 18 to 20, leader of the gang. Caucasian with auburn hair and an Irish-American heritage. Fairly handsome, but not striking. He has a somewhat jerky arrogance about him that unless your a friend, will make you feel unwelcome and threatened. A complete frat boy type, with the exception he's not in University, he likes drinking games and sexist jokes and whilst a good friend, is a complete asshole. Chara 5. ___ ____ age 18 to 20, caucasian. An average framed girl (a healthy weight, not curvy or slender) whos mildly buxom and has an attractive face. Dating Chara 2., they have a frictional on-off relationship and break up often for petty reasons, but are currently back together. She was never a beauty queen, head cheerleader or most popular girl at high school, but was still fairly popular for whatever reason. She's into fashion (whats trendy and whatnot, instead of the high end fashion magazines, designers and garments) and likes to be treated well, whilst she isn't spoiled, she is always aware of when and where her boyfriend takes her for granted. Chara 6. ___ ____ easily the most stable/neutral of the three girls, between the age of 18 and 20 and some mild trace of ethnicity that gives her tanned/bronzed skin. Maybe Italian or Hispanic? Mildly attractive, but somewhat plain and with an slim, lithe figure. She likes to keep her hair its natural colour and whilst not a vegan or a naturist, has something to say about the climate and whatnot. She can be bitchy at times, but is by far the nicest of the three girls. She's a close friend of Chara 1. as they used to be best friends in childhood, so she isn't particuarly close to any of the other characters. She's sensible, but does know how to have a good time. Chara 7. ____ _____ aged 18 to 20, caucasian. Has a strong crush on both Chara 2. and Chara 4. but only because their status/looks. She can be bitchy at times, but Chara 5. is by far the cruelest of the girls (not to suggest she's malicious). Not really a bimbo and is fairly sure of herself and somewhat intelligent, but can't hold her drink and loves getting drunk. She's promiscuous and often talks about sex either shocking or humouring whoever is with her. She's generally more accepting of Chara 6.'s induction into the group rather than Chara 5.'s.Well of course I have the stereotypes down, its a slasher, duh. > >' And as for the whole black community thing, every character in this a pothead. Did people throw a shit fit when the only black and asian castmembers in the crappy Friday 13th remake were drug addicts? No. Get over yourself! Like I said it wasn't a serious project, so stop trying to make me sound like the pulsating blemish of the writing world. And yes CHARA short for character, most writers shortern words to save time. Shows how much you know. more

Resolved Question: We are brought up to believe in santa, we are brought up to believe in god, we can read about then both?

and we eventually get told the trutth about santa and then we still get told god exists, with absolutely no proof whatsoever . no one can ever prove the existence, but we can continually see that science proves religion wrong, yet some people continue to believe it. Religion was invented to put us all into line, and be good boys and girls, and it worked to all the leaders, that of course changed it to how they wanted their people to behave So my question is, why do people really think we are that important, that we are more important than any other animal on this planet, and that we go on to someplace else when we die. For gods sake, we all need to grow up and realise we are no more important to nature than an ant more

Resolved Question: help me please!! I'm Italian and i'm not good in English!!?

Read the story about King Arthur and answer these questions: 1. When did the legends about King Arthur begin to appear? 2. Where was King Arthur born? 3. What was his father’s name? 4. Who brought him up? 5. How old was he when he became king? 6. What was the name of his magic sword? 7. Where did he live with his wife Guinevere? 28 8. Can you name some of his famous knights? 9. How did they spend their time? 10. Why did King Arthur go to Rome? 11. Did he really die in the battle against his nephew Mordred? 12. Do you like this kind of stories? What is your favourite type of books (or films)? The legends of King Arthur began to appear in the twelfth century, and it is possible that they are based on a Celtic leader in the fifth or sixth century who defended his country against Saxon invasion. King Arthur was the son of Pendragon, and was born in Tintagel in Cornwall. He was brought up by Merlin, an old Celtic magician, and became king of Britain when he was fifteen. He proved his right to be king when he managed to pull a sword from a rock. He had to fight many lords, and when, with Merlin’s help, he defeated them, he received the magic sword Exca1ibur from the Lady of the Lake. He married Guinevere and lived in a caste at Camelot. His knights sat at a round table so that they were all equal since nobody was sitting at the head of the table. Many of the stories in the legends are about the adventures of the knights, among them Lancelot, Perceval, Gawain, and Galahad. They spent their time hunting wild pigs, having feasts, and singing ballads. They often had to kill dragons and giants. At all times they behaved very correctly, with respect, honour, and compassion. Arthur went to Rome to fight the emperor, Lucius, and he left his kingdorn in the hands of his nephew, Mordred. As he was entering Rome, Arthur learned that Mordred had taken control of the kingdom and had captured Guinevere. He came back to England and defeated his nephew, but in the battle was seriously wounded. Arthur told Sir Belvedere, the last surviving knight, to throw Exca1ibur into the water of a lake. He did this, and the sword was caught by a hand which came out of the water and then took the sword below the surface. Arthur was then taken to the Isle of Avalon to get better. We understand that he did not die, but Iives on and will return when his country needs him. The legend says that the following verse is written on his tomb: HIC IACET ARTURUS REX QUONDAM REXQUE FUTURUS (HERE LIES ARTHUR, THE ONCE AND FUTURE KING) more

Resolved Question: Does the media have a massive influence on society?

I personally feel that it does, and I seek to attain a better insight. My reason for believing it does is that the newspapers all write in a bias, rather than objective way, about news and events. I don't know if its done in such a way to appeal to their target market (their customers), or whether the papers are written in such a way to achieve a higher purpose, or both. In the UK, our new "coalition government" is still in its teething stages but it seems like the newspapers are reflective of what this new government stands for. All of a sudden, there is this "uproar" about the numbers on welfare / benefits. I've read a few newspapers today and they all attack people in benefits at some point, and some of them make it their main story. I believe this is to soften the blow when our so-called coalition government phases out the benefits system. After all, there has never been such focus placed on the numbers on benefits in previous years. It would seem like the media can be used as a political tool for social reform. I'll tell you a secret, I live in Northern Ireland. And ever since the leaders of the two contesting groups agreed to try to reach some sort of an agreement, the news stations and papers have flamed any action taken by either side, and crime has dropped substantially. Such action was widely accepted as part of our heritage, culture and lives, even though the majority detested it; and this has changed thanks in part by the media. The wasting young men in our society used to commit crimes because it was the "cool to be bad", but now that we've had a major paradigm shift such crimes aren't as common as no one wants to be hated by the masses. And as for the papers, why do they broadly state that all claimants are "Workshy" and never express that there are individuals out there who need such a system to survive? more

Voting Question: How can I trust people who can't hold traditional ideas?

I have been spending very happy life since I was born, I have a happy family, good trustworthy friends(just one strange has gone with drugs though and I have never ever betrayed my friends in my life), good education(never truanting!! I have neen a class leader for long time and made good performance in sports) and work(not with same company but with same career), a snug income and stable home country(I am happy I always have place to come back). I love tradition and people with traditional ideas. So sometims I can't agree with people who can't hold or respect traditional ways in basis as I even feel I do not need to change my happy life to be honest. But of course I know there are things need to be changed/modified in the world(I am not a such morron person) and understand those who may need to change better for her/his life. But when we change someone's life better, sometimes I can't be positive for someone who blames on what I am doing TO MAKE HER/HIS LIFE BETTER, because that is unfair and; I do not deserve it simply. Addition, I do not want to be blamed or criticised by people who have just made money yesterday from just like selling her/his body though s/he never made efforts when they really needed to. The person who keeps calling "change" in the US, he himself actually was from very good family. How can I trust people who can't hold traditional ideas? more

Resolved Question: I need help with some name choices?

Okay, I have four characters that are without a name at this moment, and these people, let's call them NoName1 NoName2 NoName3 and NoName4. Their names are very important, and I'm having trouble with writing and figuring one out, when their personalities vary and are quite different. Well, at least I think so. Let's say No name 1 and 2 are twins (girls), except one has green eyes and the other has blue eyes. The only difference between them. They have long straight black hair, a pale complexion and their an average height. No name 1 has green eyes, she is a happy, unpredictable person who can make anyone smile with just a silly comment, and her twin is the one who has blue eyes, she is a quiet one who loves to read but a wild streak of anger. If you get what I mean, so one is loud and weird, and the other is quiet and angry, maybe brooding. No name 3 is a girl too, she has blonde hair that frames her face with pretty curls, she has wide brown eyes, a creamy complexion and she is quite tall. She's the protective one who would die for any of her friends and she's obviously extremely loyal and only believes things if she see's them. She's level-headed and easily the leader of this group. No name 4 is a boy, except he's gay. He has dark brown hair and dark skin, like a russet colour, he has big storm coloured eyes and he's average height, he's the smart one, and a goofy idiot when it comes to grumpy friends. He is easily upset and is smart when it comes to fashion, and loves to shop. He's empathatic and can easily relate and understand peoples problems. Now, I have no clue what names to decide on, and I really need your help.. Please :)? I appreciate your help, and sorry if the descriptions aren't really good, I'm not good at describing people and their looks, thanks for your help people! xx. more

Resolved Question: Am i being Narrow Minded?

So i don't know the full story on why Hitler was such a bastard but this guy is summit else! Read the comments and tell if I'm being narrow minded if i am tell me why. (p.s i got angry with the guy and told him he needed to be put away because he agreed with Hitler) futbolangel02 @SinclairisCool Why are you bashing Hitler? America and the British have murdered way more humans than Hitler ever did. Hitler just didn't want the Jews to take over. If someone came to takeover your country you would have done the same thing he did if you were a good leader. Ever wonder what the Jews did that was so bad that made Hitler not like them? SinclairisCool @futbolangel02 Why am i bashing Hitler? 1-He invaded Poland and killed hundreds apon thousands of Polish people because he "didn't like them" 2- He ordered the building of and murdering of millions of: Jewish, black and gay people again because he didn't like them. I don't know what it was that pissed Hitler off so much that he decided the "white race" needed to be "cleansed of it's impurities" (Jews gays and blacks) He was a sick man. If you agree with him, you need to put away. PERMANENTLY. futbolangel02 @SinclairisCool You don't know what I agree with. I proposed a question to point out that you probably didn't have the entire story and it turns out that you don't. You need to check yourself thinking you have some authority to suggest that I need to be put away. You are sickly misinformed if you think you have that power. I think you are narrow minded for closing the book on Hitler without investigating further. Shows low intellect. @futbolangel02 Oh my god, i just can't believe you. im finished. If he reply's what should i say? When i say he "didn't like them" what that is meant to say is that he HATED them. why? i don't know more

Resolved Question: Do you think we need people like Sir Richard the Lionheart and Saladin to make peace in the world?

I have studied bit of history and watched "Kingdom of Heaven" and other brilliant movies set in the Crusading times. Even though the two great religions Islam V Christianity have been locked in a never ending mortal war through the centuries always plotting, planning and trying to outdo each other. You can sense the brilliance and majesty between these two great and noble rival faiths. It is said that when the (honourable) Sir Richard went off to fight in the holy land he felt ill. Despite plundering and looting Muslim cities and murdering dark skinned Christians, Jews in Byzantine Saladin the Moslem leader calls a truce. It is said that Saladin personally went up to the mountains to fetch ice and cool water and went to give Sir Richard water and fruit to help him get better. Seeing the mercy of his rival Sir Richard and Salading became good friends and decided to share the holylands giving each other right of Pilgrim. Sir Richard returned to England and told people about the honourable peace he had made. Do you think in the modern era we need leadership like this? Do you think we should unite and create a "Christian camp" e.g USA and all the Christian European countries with someone like Sir Richard in charge and get all the Muslim countries replace Bin Laden with a more merciful charachter like Saladin to lead them? Do you think we lack such noble, majestic and honourable men in both religions?- and perhaps make peace with honour Because i think the two main leaders e.g Obama and Osama are nothing more then hate driven, money chasers with no faith and would sell their own mothers if the bailiff knocked on their doors more

Resolved Question: why do the religious need?

places of worship? surely their relationship with whatever god they believe in could and should be a private affair. easily conducted in their own home, and in their own way. all you are doing is paying electricity, gas and for repairs for a building that is not required. and paying for a man/women to tell you what he wants you to hear.and payed handsomely to boot. and believe me,most are. surely their "knowledge" of the holy book for which they cherrypick,is no better than your own. you never know, you might find things out about your faith, that the church leaders sweep under the carpet.and conveniantly forget. or have churches become one big social club, for people to gather just to "keep up with the jones's" ? would it not be better to keep your 10%,and put it back into your household? instead of lining the pockets of people no better, and no more knowledgeable than you?i will not thumbs down anyone. you all have an opinion, even "old know all :)".btw i dont worship money,as i only worship the ground my girlfriend walks on.@falsifiable-good wiki link there.it looks like an arts centre!!! more

Resolved Question: A lot to talk/discuss - so I'll make his one short and quick folks ?

This season ought to be an interesting and exciting one. Chelsea only JUST pipped United to the title last year - yeah it really was too feckin close, 1 point is all they won it by in the end, which shows just how close Sir Alex came to winning the clubs 19th league title, and 4th consecutive title in the clubs history. Over the 38 games, they are still the team alongside Chelsea to beat. The team that will stay VERY close to both these guys is a maturing Arsenal side, which has only gotten better each year but still found wanting short. Question is, even if Arsene Wengers boy's improve from last year - will it be enough to overhaul Chelsea or United , will it be good enough to steal the title on the final day ? i have my doubts - that doesn't mean to say they're not a good side, they're still perhaps the 3rd best side in the prem. Manchester City will a side to watch this year - Mancini will be tested in his first full season in charge, will he do the unthinkable and land the premiership title in the first year ??? doubtful. He's no Mourinho thats for sure - but he is his own man, and we'll learn what Mancini is capable of for sure next season. god this is getting longer than I thought ! ^_^ I feel 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th spots will be fiercely contested and expect a big points margin between 3rd and 4th at the end of this season. This makes Roy's job even harder than ever. Do we have the strength in depth at Liverpool to finish 4th or higher (which I somehow doubt he'll do in his 1st full season in charge, not with the current squad and not without strengthening it) this season ? do we ? One thing is certain - It'll be contested again I feel by Chelsea and United, and if either of these two 'slip up' or have a really bad string of results - i fear the leader will 'race away' with the title, be it United or Chelsea. There is no room for error or slip ups - Fergie knows this, this is why I'm tipping Manchester United to win the premiership this season - and consquently, breaking out 18 titles in the top flight rec...but only just, and only just by 1. need to win 3 more Champions Leagues to break out '5 times' rec btw....so no pressure there then lol. ^_^ I'd like to pay tribute to Ryan Giggs, who will turn 37 sometime this season....and who was exemplary last season and the one before, and state that even though I'm a Liverpool fan - he has been the best player to play in the EPL since its inception. Resolved Question: What are some ideas for inspiration for a plot for my character!?

I already have a main character for my book. Here's some stuff about her: Her name is Regina Heart. She is the soon-to-be leader of the Keepers. The Keepers is a group of shape-shifters (into owls) that protect Regina's magical world, which I need to come up with a name for. Regina turns into an owl. Regina is a good, confident leader. She does believe in God, and you can see her growing throughout my series (I'm planning out 4 books). Regina's confidence mainly comes from God. She tries not to back out and chicken out, sometimes out of her competitiveness but sometimes she gets so scared she forgets to trust in God and people have to assure her. Regina and her friends like to pull pranks but not excessively. Only two of her friends, Jade and Karissa know that she is the soon-to-be Leader of the Keepers. If I forgot anything, I'll put it in Additional Details. God bless! more

Voting Question: Message from Ashtar.....?

Once again i heard the galactic phone ringing.... Ashtar hasn't been sitting idle while we carry on making war against the taliban. He is watching us play out yet another war game, but can anyone say who are really the good guys or the bad guys? It is all down to what skin you're in Ashtar now wants to ask mankind a question what are you fighting for? are you being freed from tyranny how many times do you want to hear how sorry your leaders are...my dear ones? When we say make peace with your neighbour we mean right here, right now...and not some time in the future once again governing bodies have fooled the populace...another loved one is killed in action and sent home in a coffin condolences abound, but if there is true sorrow why do they continue to play out these futile wars? your history is proof enough that wars solve nothing and yet you play the old scenario out again and again galactic wars have taken place and we learned the futility of taking lives Listen not just to my words, but to your hearts. now it is time to look withing and ask what future you want for mankind.... Yes many races have influenced the history of mankind galactic and indigenous.... and ask yourself, if adam and eve were wearing skin, what was the colour? What race? Human or Reptilian? they did not have skin just energy think about it open your mind and consciousness, your planet holds the bones of realities of the past and if you close you eyes to this, maybe it didn't happen.... we of the galactic federation are waiting patiently and we know of your potential, open up and know what is the truth your governments are beginning to crumble within use your own knowledge and understanding to begin understanding what it is you want for your future and the future of your children You wish us to enter your reality openly and you dream of this as you watch alien life acted out in your movies and yet even now there are humans who can not accept life beyond their own limited existence...are you of the same mind? everything is not going to get better over night or if we of the federation suddenly appear over your cities we send messages via crop circles and these too are questioned and dismissed by humans who think they have all of the answers... Why would we want to share your reality, when your reality is death and destruction? I understand my words seem harsh and some of you seem confused by some information coming through via various channels. You may choose to take on board what i say, or dismiss my words... We of the command have discussed at length what is happening on Earth, And we are here for all of you, not just a chosen few as individuals and collectively you need to decide what reality you want for your future... We continue to watch and wait patiently... Peace within all hearts. more

Resolved Question: Do world leaders REALLY understand? Can you give critique please?

Wrong Decisions-This is maybe a little rage at the Tories, not specifically though(but i'm not willing for this to turn into a politics war ground) and also others in power, mis-using it. Free-verse if you don't mind. At the stand, all the right words are said to win over. What's gonna happen about the fragile environment and all those unknown "benefits" you'll introduce. But my good sir, where are those mandatory cuts? The words you said make up your throne of power and the lucrative promises made hold you steady. But your solution while money goes up in flames seems to be purging the poor so much more. Outside my house I see the lorries carrying timber, ironically after you said our woods need preserving. Well I must admit, my idea of preservation isn't sawdust dunes where once stalwart trees stood. I sympathise that money might be dwindling away, but in my mind I don't think the right option was to throw poor Mrs Gardner out of her comfort zone when cash may have been hard for her to obtain? And these promises kept under wraps for a surprise, I guess we see now a blanket was thrown over them. If unveiled when people were deciding who would rule, your block in the graph would have crumbled to nothing. Whilst you portray yourself as the savior of the dying day, we know it was you who delivered the fatal wounds. But now we're in the middle of the tunnel you led us through, so it seems that the true price of freedom will be debt.Deniability, hmm yes I agree...muchYeah that's exactly it Rosa, the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer, why that is considered fair I don't know. more

Resolved Question: If Obama "hates" the UK so much, why are we still supporting the US in Afghanistan?

This "delightful" American poster is greatly amused by the fact that her president has aired rather embarrassing and deeply unprofessional personal hatreds in his little book, and allows these hatreds to affect his work. (Personally if the leader of my country stooped to that level I'd be mortified, but there you go . . .) http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AmBQf1I9D3qKKr2vtKZQfQ4gBgx.;_ylv=3?qid=20100607110613AANALoV&show=7#profile-info-dXGec1kNaa It seems the "special relationship" is over. Obama "hates" us because somehow "we" (?????) killed the deadbeat dad who ran out on him as a kid (although we are happily playing host to his stepmum who claims welfare benefits and NHS treatment, and has been on the UK news talkinjg about how great state sponsored medical care is, hmm funny that, we can't be all that bad eh?) So here's an idea. If he dislikes us so much I'm sure our support in the middle east is no longer needed. Perhaps he could ask his preferred allies Ireland or Kenya to send their armies in instead and we'll bring ours home and save a few billion. Sounds like a good idea to me! more

Resolved Question: Names for following characters?

A while ago, I asked questions describing each of these characters & asking which names would suit them. I've got lists of all the names suggested for each character, and wondered if you'd be able to say which five you think suit the character most: (They are all teenage girls - about the age of 16) 1. This girl is very striking - short, hourglass figure, dark hair, big blue eyes. She puts on a strong, confident act but is actually very weak and vulnerable inside & deals with mental health issues. She's quiet and mysterious, and can go from devious to innocent in a flash. She's independent, hates routine & wants to escape and travel. She can be a bit sarcastic, impolite, bossy and heartless at times. Possible names; Alexia, Paris, Sophie, Katie, Alicia, Michelle, Chloe, Ariana, Lilliana, Blake, Ava, Leonella, Ella, Elle, Lexy, Tina, Roxanna, Alexis, Tia, Bella, Carmen, Bridget, Melissa, Josephine, Emmaline, Gianna, Hayden, Beverly, Elisa, Tara, Blair, Adrianna, Marissa, Francesca, Ivy, Rochelle, Evie, Clara, Gia, Isabella, Violet, Lianna. 2. This girl is gorgeous - tall, slim, tanned, auburn hair, small hazel eyes. She craves routine and stability, and hates change of any kind. She forms close relationships and is always kind and friendly - problem is her need to please can sometimes lead to her being fake. She has trouble with commitment. She's very intelligent, hard-working and organised but also likes to have a good time. She has trouble letting go, and always has to have everything planned out. She can be very attention-seeking at times. Possible names; Hallie, Amelia, Lily, Leah, Alice, Eva, Olivia, Elodie, Alexa, Amelie, Harlow, Fiona, Charlotte, Emma, Sarah, Rachel, Elisabeth, Arabella, Gabrielle, Nicole, Lucinda, Isabelle. 3. This girl is average-looking - average height, average build, red hair, small green eyes. She's very much a leader and can flick from dreamy to opinionated. She throws herself into commitment and is very talkative and open about her life. However, she's also something of a compulsive liar and has struggled with both depression and eating disorders. She's interested in politics, and is always lecturing people on her theories and ideas. She's adventurous and loves to try new things. Possible names; Juliette, April, Sarah, Marianna, Nicola, Sara, Natalie, Ashley, Scarlett, Harriet, Ruby, Phoebe, Nora, Georgia, Danica, Daisy, Adella, Holly, Florence, Jenny, Raven, Pixie, Layla. 4. This girl is pretty - short, average build, fair skin, blonde hair, blue eyes. She lives a somewhat sheltered life due to her parents strict parenting style. She's very flirty and often plays guys around, whilst at the same being played around herself. She's organised and never does anything out of the ordinary. She's very sweet, creative and generous but is also very naive and insecure and often hurts people without realising it. She often lets people push her around because of her low self-esteem. Possible names; Jade, Amber, Eva, Victoria, Poppy, Megan, Rebecca, Tamsin, Luna, Angela, Stephanie, Louise, Molly, Helena, Annie. I would have provided better, more in-depth descriptions but I didn't want to take up too much space. So which five names do you think suit each character best? more

Resolved Question: Diane Abbott's claim to the Labour leadership ..?

Diane Abbott is going around telling anyone that will listen that she entered the leadership race because she was approached by so many people that she felt that she had to put her name forward. http://www.tribunemagazine.co.uk/2010/05/31/diane-abbotts-statement/ However, to be included on the ballot paper each candidate needs 32 sitting MP's to nominate their choice for leader. Diane Abbott so far has just one so far. Let us say that she did in fact get onto the ballot paper ..... and consider her record over the last few years ..... would the Labour Party Conference really be daft enough to vote her in? Do you think that she would make a good leader of the opposition? more

Resolved Question: musicans, please help someone in need?

i had many ideas to learn many instruments, i said keyboard and violin and flute and saxophone and mandolin and much much MUCH more than that. i bought an electric guitar and then i said i don't want to learn it and my dad got angry. im SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO passionate about music and please don't say that i don't like music, i like it so much. it is my life, it is my world and my home. i want to buy one more instrument but i don't want to cost my father more money, but i cant choose. some people say: look for the one that you are most comfortable with. when i feel that i am comfortable with one of the instruments, then i feel comfortable with another one (just like im losing my memory containing the love for the previous instrument). many people say that im good at keyboard, and i play little on keyboard (i just play the right hand) and i have perfect pitch (not TOO perfect) i can play some songs by hearing them. i played undertaker, titanic, power puff girls Z, loneliness from naruto and more, all by pitch. but when i feel that i should learn the keyboard, times come to me saying: the keyboard is not a good instrument, it don't have its own sound ( i don't feel that i have an identity plus i like to be unique) and in a band, the keyboard can be barely sounded in bands, they usually forget about keyboards. if i will play an instrument, i want to be the front man, the leader, the melodic. and i DON'T like piano. i like any genre of music, what matters me is the song, not the genre, plus i like ancient songs like indian, japanese and of course i like arabian because im arabian! the genres i like: rock, metal, arabian, indian, japanese, celtic, chinese, techno, trance and fusion. if you ask me, generally, i prefer an acoustic (not electric) instrument, that i can carry it outside home and play it in a garden or beach (but NOT acoustic guitar). and i don't prefer wind instruments because i have weak lungs. i cant try instruments to see which is better because the stores on our country don't let you try instruments. please tell me what do i need to do exactly to choose an instrument in a simple way. more

Resolved Question: what is the likely future of the UK and European economy for the next 5 - 10 years?

After the budget info on cuts being announced and a lot more on the Horizon likely to be coming in the near future. It's clear the Gov has on a damage limitation attitude to the economy for the next 5 years. unemployment is at 2.5 mill and is a lot higher when you think about the kids in education in school, collegee and uni, that graduate year on year putting more pressure on the jobs market and resources (with degree which increasingly mean less each year). Iv been looking for full time permanent work for 5 months and forced to take part time work (due to going travel and then coming back... if you want a stable future never live your dreams... and do not leave a full time job even if you hate it!) Most people I know have no idea what the solution is to the economy (maybe there isn't one) or they just don'tnt want to think about it as they fear losing their job and don't know what they would do. If people knew where the economy is gowing then we can plan for the future but no one is telling us. Ok job growth will happen in social care, education, medical docs/ nurses in the future but these jobs do not generate money they require it. Jobs that generate money for a country are those that make things in your bundarieses or in your land borders e.g. oil extraction, raw material extraction, manufacturing - cars, electrical goods, food etc. green energy? BUT WE DONT MAKE THESE THINGS ANY MORE!. One law I I thought could help solve the problem is: - The UK Invent a lot of products and is one of the world leaders, if we made it illegal to outsource anythe products division to outside countrie e.g. if the product is designed by a british citizen the product must be built here and marketed and sold from britain to the rest of the world acquiring the resources to make the product from abroad (if needed). good ensure job security in the UK and high employment, Bad - may force intelligent people to leave the UK and force the price of products up. So where do you think the UK and europe will be in 5 - 10 years how can we ensure our future for our growing population? more

Resolved Question: Is Barry Obama's response worse than Bush's response to Katrina?

Barry doesn't have a clue. Is he going to do anything? While he is sitting up at the White House searching for the teleprompter or a good advisor, our beaches, wild life, way of life, ocean, livelihood, environment, etc... is being destroyed. Yes, it is BP's responsibility (as he has loudly told us), but he is SUPPOSE to be our leader. When is he going to start leading? I think he needs to find that teleprompter, so he will know what to do. He could ask one of the idiots he has working with him. The problem is they don't know, and they don't care. When do you think he is going to figure it out? In the meantime, everything we know is being destroyed!!! Do something, anything. It's better than NOTHING. You Obama supporters....can you come up with another good excuse why your idiot hasn't done more?? I am disgusted!By the way, we can get over a hurricane because it will end. We will not be able to get over this for at least a century. FEMA is joke! That were a cluster **** during Katrina, and they are a cluster **** now. What we need is a leader!!!Well, half a century, but what damn difference does it make. We are in the present.John, I'm not going to take my medication. BARRY is the president. He is ultimatley responsible. If he doesn't know what to do, then he needs to find someone that does amongst the rest of the idiots that he has working for him . Where are you writing your intelligent answer from....New York? It's easy to say" just hold now" when we are the ones that are experiencing it. Yea, I'm mad. We need a leader not an imbecile. As far as Katrina is concerned JOHN, I experienced it. I'm experiencing this, too. Don't preach to me about what the hell you don't know. You're probably sitting up North somewhere preaching your BS. He's not a good leader, and there is nothing that you can say that can convince me otherwise. Smoke on that awhile. By the way, do you have a job? Probably you are a typical liberal democrat. Unemployed!! more

Resolved Question: How to improve my social life/life in general?

I am in serious need of some advice. I just started Year 10 at a new school in September 09, and I'm having trouble fitting in. Its an all girls school and all my life I've gone to co-ed international schools so its a massive adjustment for me. I've also moved continents so its not like I can hang out with my old friends. I don't mean to sound stuck up, but I've always had a lot of friends and been the leader of a group, but I have been the subject of bitchiness from a lot of girls, and therefore usually get along better with guys. But now I'm in a new school which is cliquey and bitchy and its hard for me to relate to anyone here, and as a result I've become really quiet and boring at school, which is very very unlike me. Anyway, I have no friends at school and I don't know what to do. I don't really have much of a life, since its a new city too. How do I either change that or (preferably) meet a different crowd of people outside of school, and also guys? Please don't say 'join a club' or 'check out your neighborhood', I live in central London and none of those are really options. I did start classes and join a gym and that kind of stuff but I didn't meet anyone my age. I feel really lonely. more

Resolved Question: should i trust this numerologists claiming to be able to help me?!?!?!?

Laurence, I have life altering news and information for you! I'm very concerned that you are not getting what you deserve from life. Instead of just focusing on the rich and famous people that take up so much of my time and attention, I am seeing a clear vision that my dedication should lie elsewhere, for those people have enough of everything. I have been on television and radio trying to assist as many people as possible, from religious leaders to politicians, so I am certain that you have heard of me or seen me. There is a strong desire for me to personally help people just like you. This is not only what I need to do but what I want to do! Visions constantly fill my head of the people I must assist, people just like you Laurence! The desire to help you is overwhelming. It is apparent to me that you are an amazingly good person. You have given so much of yourself to others and finally, after all this time, something better is coming to you! Looking at your chart, I know that you desperately need my guidance. It is now time for me to focus on your problems and YOUR problems only! You certainly aren't lacking in having wonderful goals, but is seems as though someone or something is always interfering with your progress. If you had a clear path to your success, there is no doubt you could go far! It concerns me because this particular situation or perhaps numerous bad situations are trapping you causing you to feel like you are at a dead end. Whether it is your relationship that is causing the problem, or a life that you feel is going nowhere fast, you are caught in a rut and feeling terribly unlucky which is paralyzing any attempt to progress. Like many people I help, you too are dwelling on the past and regretting opportunities that could have been. This is a detriment to you in trying to handle your problems of today. You look at others with envy that seem to have "it all." You think those with romance and riches are luckier than you. You are often wondering how you can catch the same streak of good luck that those you envy have found. Then there's the MONEY! If you only had a little help and a little luck then you'd have all the money you would ever want or need! What is worse than all of this is that you don't believe there is anyone whom you can turn to, much less trust, who truly understands what you are feeling and experiencing. Laurence, I completely and totally understand where you are coming from! The reason I understand is because I know you are experiencing a crisis in your life. I happen to realize that you are at a point in your life when things must change, or else! You see, together you and I can be a team. You CAN become one of those lucky people that you have envied all this time from afar. Your clouds can have a silver lining. You don't have to watch from the side lines any more. You too can have happier days just like the ones in your dreams. Knowing when opportunities occur and more importantly how to take full advantage of those opportunities is the key to luck and success! I, my friend, know just how to do that. Sure, you're thinking right this very minute that you have heard all this before because you have already received similar letters each month. There are pseudo psychics and astrologers claiming they can promise you everything but always delivering absolutely nothing. They truly have no idea what in the world they are talking about. The very situation you are in now proves that point exactly! You, my dear, have been let down far too many times. All you want is to not be fooled over and over again. You need to know that this time you WILL get everything you need to make the difference that you so much deserve in life. It is obvious to me that when you are truly in need of help, that is when you are the least willing and the least likely to ask for it. You desperately wish that those who care for you would know what you are thinking and feeling. You, however, choose to be strong and silent because you don't want to be a burden to those closest to you. What I see is that you have trusted the wrong people and now you are nowhere that you should be. You are unfortunately unable to see help when it presents itself to you. Isn't it time you stopped letting your last chance at happiness slip through your finger tips? I can see that you won't and can't let it happen again. Because I care about you, I sense what you are feeling, thinking, and going through. Many of my close friends were in the exact same position as you right this very minute! Not knowing their way to success, they too experienced despair and confusion. Just like you, they thought no one cared about them or the outcome of their lives. After asking for my help, I was able to show them the way from the depths of misery to the heights of the rich life. With my help and guidance, th more

Resolved Question: is anybody pleased to see a hung parliament?

or would you prefer to see another general election? i for one think a hung parliament is a big mistake because we have too many major issues to deal with without a load of politicians arguing left from right and taking an age to agree over the smallest issue. what we need is an outright leader who has the balls to actually make a decision and stand by it rather than do what is good for party PR. sadly i feel we are bereft of such a figure in British politics these days. more

Voting Question: Untrue accusations that have caused a rift between friends?

A couple of months ago a friends husband called my husband and accused me of ignoring his wife and in the process called me quite a few really hurtful things. Immediately following this call I went to their house - talk a deep breath and said we obviously need to talk. I went in we had a discussion and when I left I thought everything was fine ( we hugged). The following day we spoke, and exchanged the time of day. Just to put this in context the only time I see this woman is at the school gate when we are collecting our children. We collect children from different locations, so it would only be in passing that I would every talk to her. We used to be reasonably good friends but over time we have drifted in different directions. I decided she was dangerous sometime ago - but knew she was be a bad enemy as she was quite spiteful and lied alot. As a result I was always pleasent to her. During this time she also left our local church started going somewhere else - then contact our junior church leader to say she felt left out? At the time I was accussed I was ill with a nasty bladder infection, it was very cold and business was rubbish. So in a way I had other things on my mind, and had not gone out of my way to say hello but was not ignoring her or anyone else. Having been to her house, the folloing week my husband called hers to clear the air as he had been the one to receive the call, he said to her husband, I hope what you said was in anger! Her husband said he stood by every word he said. Since then I have written to them both, individually - saying that i do not understand the situation as when i came to their house - I am sure we left on good terms. Both letters were ignored. Since then we have not spoken at all and I do go out of my way to ignore her! I do not know what this is all about. A mutal friend, who is god mother to my daughter, has now cut me off, she spends alot of time with this womanand refuses to discuss this issue with me. So the other day I approached her and asked what was going on, I felt she had been avoiding me. She was aggressive and said that this was what I did? Not at all sure what she meant but it was kind of as if she was saying it was all in my mind. So I said I didnt want to lose her as a friend and that i was at a loss as to where this all came from - I explained I had been ill, and had other things on my mind and she then said - well there is no need to ram it down peoples necks!!! again no idea where that came from. Has anyone any idea how I should approach this - as I have to seen these people regularly and am not the type to carry grudges. more

Voting Question: Hung Parliament v Coalition?

As a life long supporter of the Liberal party I am gutted that yet again we failed to get you in as the PM however, I do not have a problem with you 'doing a deal' with the Conservatives as I trust your judgement on the actual makeup of the deal as I know you will do your best to ensure that you achieve the best deal possible. Should you even concider talking or doing a deal with the asshole who single handedly put us in the mess we are in today - namely BROWN - I will no longer suport you or your party or have any faith in the British system. On that point you may like to concider changing the voting system as follows:- For local elections the system could and should remain the same as a lot of local candidates are just fine for dealing with and representing the local community and might not necesseraly be a candidate from a party you would want to lead the country, we all have our strengths and while I back the Liberal party my local liberal candidate is a wetweekend at the best of times and could not organise a pissup in a brewery as the saying goes. When it is a general election the public should have the oportunity to elect the best candidate that is standing for MP regardless of the party and the votes should be counted on actual votes not seats gained. So this election ballet papers should have held just the names of the candidates standing as MP ie the leaders of the relevant parties not the local candidates. I realise this could have meant that you may have gained power as MP with very few actual elected members behind you but surely that could be addressed when you are in power. The current voting systems has left us with a succesive string of wanabe PM's that frankly should never have been given that kind of power. The last MP that had any idea at all of how to run a country was Maggie Thatcher, since she stood down the Uk has suffered a long line of puppets, prats, and self opinionated wanabes all of whom have been in it for the power and self importance oblivious to the needs of the people and the money they spent at our expense the expences scandle highlighted that in a hugh way, I am no finance guru but even I could have managed the UK purse a lot better than any that have been in power since Thatcher - I know this because I have managed on a shoe string all my life, raised three children single handed on a female depleted wage, put all of them through college and Uni and afforded to buy my own property. No I don't smoke, drink or socialise (could never afford to) and until the children were all earning could not afford holidays or even trips to McDonalds but we survived and the children always had enough to eat and cloths on their backs, and I kept us out of debt which is more than can be said of BROWN who has squandered more of our hard earned cash in the few years that he held the purse than any of his predasesors. more

Resolved Question: Fellow Britons, Why are you all absolutely clueless when it comes to Politics?

New Labour have decimated this country in less than 13 years. yet people will vote for them again. Liberal Democrats are riding on the success of the X-Factor leaders debates, whilst at the same time having god awful policies which are dangerous to Britain's future such as scrapping trident, getting rid of our UN security council seat and replacing it with a EU one. Conservatives are all liars, Cameron's axe of cuts will fall hard on everyone including the armed forces when our much needed new Aircraft Carriers are scrapped. also the tories ridiculous attempt to appear europsceptic. Lib/Lab/con have been giving away our sovereignty and the right to govern ourselves to the European Union for the past twenty years. The Lisbon Treaty has under-mimed our constitution and weakened our Sovereign. Do people take things in to consideration or do you all run out and be good little sheep, but hey come on it's only Britain's future that is at stake. more

Resolved Question: Have you been disappointed with the role of the media in this campaign?

Here is my rant. I have been very disappointed with the media in this campaign, they have followed the leaders of the parties around meeting there own supporters and not the general public, it looks good on telly but its all staged. In bigot-gate Gordon met a life long labour supporter, I think the most telling part of when he made the infamous comment in the car, was that he was criticising his campaign managers saying what was the point in meeting her. There are lots of people in the uk that are far more bigoted than the lady he spoke too and the only way you can win them over is by talking to them, challenging them with knowledge and arguments not just calling them names behind there back. The media have focused to much attention on the tv debates. After the tv debates, the media cut straight to party supporters telling us there man has won, well dur, of course they are going to say that. Then they continue to talk about who has won for the next few days, I think its sad some people will vote for the party they think is going to win rather than the party that is going to get the best outcome for them and the country. They keep going on about the voter apathy and undecided voters, but they have not helped because they keep telling us things about the campaign that are irrelevant, rather than giving us a clear understanding where all the parties, and not just the big 3, stand on each issue the country is facing. People accuse the BBC of bias against the conservatives but I find this not to be true for example I often watch this week and they usually only have a representative from labour and the conservatives, don't get me wrong I think this is because the whole of the media is either on the centre or right of the political spectrum and is dragged further and further right by the conservative press, Sun, Telegraph, Daily mail, Sky news, if the BBC has to be broken up then maybe Rupert Murdock's empire needs to be as well. Maybe its the public that I should be upset with rather than the media, because some people still don't know the difference between the parties and their policies. However I can not come to that conclusion until public broadcasting create more political shows on specific issues, so people can see where each party stands policy by policy. Rant over, feel a little better now. more

Voting Question: Who will be the one to break the Undertaker's winning streak? Now that HBK is gone.?

Top contenders: 1) HHH 2) Orton 3) Cena 4) Ted Debiase I have written in my top priority order. HHH- The only wrestler in Undertaker’s league currently present in the WWE roaster. Randy Orton- the next big thing, excellent athlete, 10 years WWE contract, LEGEND KILLER. Cena for very obvious reasons- face of the company with many pg fans and Ted coz his father brought Undertaker into WWE and also he seems to be an impressive wrestler. All of the genuine wrestling fans would not want Cena to break the winning streak even though his doing his best to impress but he still has a long way to appease the long time wrestling fans. As far as Ted is concerned, he has to earn it, he needs to spend more time in WWE to deserve that accolade and also the fans should appreciate or accept him breaking the streak. I personally feel it will take at least 3-4 years from now and Undertaker will retire before that. My prediction is 19-0, 20-0, 20-1 career ending match. Orton had good rivalries in the past with the Phenom , he is supposed to be the best young wrestler in the company currently and is all set to be the simultaneous face of the WWE alongside cena. His “Legend Killer” is perfect for the story line too. The only remaining guy is HHH, storyline is set (Undertaker retiring his best friend HBK) and we are in for the treat. But there are several reasons that confuse me in case of HHH and Orton like: 1) Undertaker is thoroughly a business oriented wrestler, a leader of the complete WWE roaster and his opinion and influence in the story line is huge. On PWI.com Undertaker said that he will NEVER face a superstar that has no future and he will choose the one to break his streak. I don't think he will go for HHH coz WWE dont have much future with HHH. He is surely to retire right after Undertaker as no one will be left in WWE to fit in his level. Undertaker would prefer someone to continue his legacy in future for WWE. 2) HHH and Orton have already faced Undertaker in WM once before. Rematch will be great but I don't think they deserve to break the streak more than HBK did or if they both will even come as closer as HBK did. They both are a great wrestler but can't deliver even the 80% of what HBK did; even they would agree with that. For me, if someone has to break the streak....he has to deliver more than HBK and should make a fitting match that would actually deserve to break the streak and also should earn the appreciation of WWE universe. As a big fan of HBK, one side in me would still love to see HBK complete the triology and come for one last match retiring Undertaker. But that just wouldn’t happen, Undertaker would never do that. And I simply cannot decide as to who will be the one to defeat Undertaker? (IMO 20-1) Business/Undertaker’s point of view- Orton, Fans point of view- HHH, my point of view- HBK. Dark horses/Surprising wrestlers could be : Kane Swagger Morrison Sheamus Batista Big Show (Taker love him) Jericho (I would love it) Edge (Already defeated him in one such stipulation match but the dead man came back)I repeat "On PWI.com Undertaker said that he will NEVER face a superstar that has no future and he will choose the one to break his streak." more

Resolved Question: Therian question: I Need help making a big decision on getting a dog?

I don't want only therians to answer this question as I feel anyone can relate but I don't need people saying unhelpful and rude comments. Firstly I'm not fake and I'm not crazy, also this is a long story, I'll try to keep it as short as possible. Okay so I am an African Wild Dog therian and so is my boyfriend, in a past life I was the pack leader and he was a pup (not my pup, I just cared for him). Obviously this makes us really want to have a dog as a pet, it wouldn't just be my pet, it would be a part of our pack. Finally after years of asking, my mum is allowing me to get a dog so off I went to the rescue centre and one dog I saw felt so familiar. Every week I asked to go back and see him until I realised I must have known him from a past life and he was very likely my wild dog mate. Now on the other hand my aunt bought a dog for her son who is a little 12 year old wannabe gangster and the dog happens to be a pit-bull which are illegal in this country. She is adorable and scared and she deserves a much better life than living on an estate, being taught to fight dogs and being bored her whole life. I took her out for a day and let her experience a park for the first time, and a pond and sand and quiet fresh air. It breaks my heart to know that dogs future is forever tainted by stupid people and worse still my aunt is thinking of giving her away. The new people won't know its a pit-bull, how to be careful around the police etc. As you can see I'm all for punish the deed not the breed. Now I'm between a rock and a hard place. Do I act selfishly and adopt the dog who was my mate, get to have the best life with him until we have to part again / Or do I let him find his own human home and save the pit-bull who needs a person who is understanding of how to properly care for her, discipline her and protect her. (also getting the rescue dog may compromise my relationship with my bf, i love him, but not in the same way and he may fall to second place whereas the pit-bull would be our little baby girl)Yea the rescue dog is a mutt, I think he's a Staffy bull mastiff cross. The rescue centre here is almost 100% staffs though so it may make it more likely he is adopted due to standing out and he's still young (1 yr) I could help my aunt try to find a good owner for the pitbull, however she doesn't know it's a pitbull. Oh and don't worry I understand the importance of being pack leader, I am studying to become a dog behaviourist in the future. I'm gonna repost it in the pets section but change the therian bit because I feel people there will be a lot less open minded and post stupid answers just like Mount Analogue >.> more

Resolved Question: need advise ladies: daughter being bullied at school?

my daughter (aged 7) moved to a new school in january and she settled in well. in fact she started to do better academically than at her previous school. then in march she came out of school very withdrawn and started 'bullying' her little brother. eventually she told me she was being teased at school and no-one would play with her- 1 child in particular was the 'ring leader' and had told everyone in the class to call my daughter names and not play with her. i went into the school and had a word with her teacher. she had a word with the child in question and 'buddied' up my little girl with a few 'nice girls' in the class. the teacher told me that this particular child was a known trouble-maker in the class. everything seemed to settle down again. since my daughter has returned to school after the easter break, this girl has started bullying my daughter again. she has told chloe to move back to her old school (which isn't an option for us) and that if she doesn't ''her daddy has knives''. my daughter, yet again, is playing on her own as this girl has threatened my daughters 'buddys'. i don't know what i'm more afraid of- a child of 7 knowing to say that her dad has knives (i suspect she's been told to say that) or if its true, what would happen to my little girl at school. i've kept her off today and told the school she's ill. what should i do? i've already tried the teacher. i really need advise ladies, i'm so hurt for my little girl.EDIT: i do believe the whole 'knives' thing as her father has a huge 'slash' down his face- quite popular for the knife culture in glasgow and those involved in it. i also know that this girls mother is not around as she takes drugs. she lives most of the time with her paternal grandparents, but has regular contact with her father more

Resolved Question: UK;This is what I think what is wrong with British Politics today.?

So we've had the first televised political debate with our current political leaders. And some are saying that Nick Clegg, of the Liberal Democrats, has come out the winner in this televised debate. why is this? I will tell you. Over the last three quarters of a century we've had two main political parties in governance. One left wing the other right wing. So it follows as each one political group once in power , its main objective once elected, is to rub the nose of the opposition by its policies. Ill give you two examples. Margaret Thatcher and the Miners Strike. Whether you accept the miners deserved what they got or not. It seems MT was determined to break the unions - the only refuge for fairness against employers of the working class I believe. Tony Blair and the Fox Hunting Ban. This is clearly at stab at the so called "toffs" yet could be argued that many ppl are in favour. Yet surely there's more important day to day matters worthy of Banning? So we have two parties that all they do is know how to win an election, give all the promises under the sun and just do bugger all one elected. Why hasn't there been a Nuclear Power plant building programme going on in the last ten years ? They've known about the problem but done nothing about it. "Politics of spite" like the hunting ban and pit closures. What about the conservatories. There most likely to scrap the minimum wage ( the only good thing the Labour did ), repeal the fox hunting ban, re-balance the employee/employer relationship balance in favour of the latter. Each time these parties are at each other throats "point scoring" with its "policies of spite" as I call them. While this is going on NOTHING gets done with the country - just left to rot. I believe a type of Bi-Partisan type of politics is the way forward - each party wishing to introduce an expensive legislation [like Nuclear power plant construction ] that the other party would HONOUR that policy [once in power ] rather than just tear it up and start again because its either to left or right wing. Why isn't this done now? If this was done eventually the country would get itself in order if both parties worked together on important matters rather than our current tit for tat politics. We need a Nick Clegg prime Minister to show the other two parties that its not good enough -lying to the public. If you ever want to see a classic "politics of spite" just google : TSR2 a technologically advanced fighter plane of the 60s that was destroyed (allegedly once all its tech was passed" Across the pond" ) so that the incoming government couldn't halt this tech leaving the country or take any credit if it were to re-commission the plane - this plane was 20 years ahead of anything the Americans had at the time. It really is a sad story... Does anyone agree with me ? more

Resolved Question: Help with Internet Research using profiles from LinkedIn, UK and Ireland?

Hi, I need to research the following via Google or Yahoo! We have a data integration solution for Salesforce.com customers called Informatica Cloud. This is the market leader etc and if we can get through to people who are either responsible for or administer their company's Salesforce.com implementation, we can usually have a meaningful conversation with them about integration. Specifically, we are looking for people on LinkedIn with the word "salesforce" or "salesforce.com" in their profile. We are looking for people in the UK or Ireland. I have had the most success searching for public profiles using Google but if you can do a better job using LinkedIn advanced search, that's fine. I will leave it up to you. The following Google query is a good starting point as it pulls back Uk LinkedIn profiles. site:linkedin.com inurl:uk.linkedin.com salesforce site:linkedin.com inurl:ie.linkedin.com salesforce The first one gives 833k results and the second one, 11k results so we need to do some work to filter these further. People with the following keywords in their job title are a priority and the list is also given in order of priority: administrator salesforce salesforce.com Head of CRM CRM analyst sales operations sales director VP of Sales marketing director VP of Marketing executive Furthermore, we don't need any people who work for Salesforce.com itself as we are already plugged in and connected to these people. Finally, I would like you to focus on contacts who work in the Utilities & Telecommunications Industries. So can anyone help me filter results from the two urls that he mentions, cause at the mo I have viewed over 600 profiles and very few are relevant?Hi everyone I do not want anyone to do the work for me, just need a few searching tips, as i am very new to this? more

Resolved Question: Why does the world hate America and then beg us for our help?

Forget our enemies, this is also popular among our allies. UK, Canada, France, Australia, etc - the people, not the leaders, generally don't smack about the USA. These are the same people who will insult the USA the day before they beg for our help when they're in trouble. Example, a British person will insult America like this: "Cheerio mate, bloody yanks eat too much lard." The next day when their country is in trouble: "Cheerio mate, help me America! I need your dollars, lad!" Of course, when we give them our dollars they will freely insult us. Foreigners are too much of a pain for us. Sometimes it would be better off if we isolated ourselves from these blood-sucking worms. How much money did you guys give to Haiti? We gave somewhere in the billions? How much did you guys donate? A dollar ? Maybe? Idiots. more

Resolved Question: has the time arrived to speak in defence of the Jehovah's Witnesses?

following dinner yesterday Boris and I retired to the sitting room as is our custom, with the sherry and our manx cats,Moroni and Baloney. We ruminated on the exciting opportunities for discourse and discussion opened up to us by the use of this computing device which was a gift from our youngest daughter, Tamasin. ( Tammy ) on our wedding anniversary. truly one of our lords miracles. Boris began reflecting on the strange nature of one of the more demanding cults, the Jehovah's Witnesses. Of course by this time he had half emptied his bottle of whisky and the affectionate old brute spoke began to speak frankly, ( if not a little slurringly ) He said '' they are nothing but a damned bunch of people hating losers, acting like a bunch of frightened children huddling together in the dark trying to hide from the boogeyman they call satan, and terrified of everything that their limited intellects makes them incapable of understanding'' I'm afraid that at this juncture he had quite got into his stride and so continued in the same vein, '' They are a pathetic collection of sheep who are grateful for any discipline meted out to them by the shepherds who control them, who are in turn rapacious, lying and exploitative scoundrels of the first order who derserve nothing less than a damn good thrashing'' At this point he was becoming quite agitated and turning the most alarming puce colour in his face so I asked Robertson, one of our senior staff, to prepare his bed, and ordered him to take his leave. But, I must ask this question. Are the Witnesses as bad as they are portrayed? is it the truth or anti - witness propaganda that they would stand idly by and do nothing whilst a loved one died for want of medical treament? Is it fair for them to be condemned for ever for the actions of one of their past leaders Rutherford who granted was a liar and rapaciously greedy exploitative drunk? Can todays rank and file witness member be blamed for that? I say that all cults should be allowed to worship our lord in their own way as long as their actions do nothing to harm the genuine christians who love our one true god in heaven without the need of ridiculous prohibitions being placed upon them. more

Resolved Question: i need some Friendship advice?

Ok this sounds like a whiny who-said-what situation. And well...yeah it is lol but I still need help. Basically me and my best friend are very close, and we were both part of this group of about 10 people and we were all very close. My best friend is doing nursing, ands I'm going to university whilst the others in the group have jobs etc.A few months ago, they just stopped inviting me and my best friend out with them, me and my friend got quite frustrated. I saw them out and about, and they were really funny with us, acting off and cold when I confronted one of the 'leader' girls about it she said that they don't invite me and my friend because we are 'loud and messy' and they just want to stay in instead of going out all the time- me and my best friend don't go out all the time (we're not made of money!). Then last night, I was in a club and my boyfriend was outside and one of the guys from the group told him they did'nt like us because once my best friend broke a bottle, and I had an arguement with my boyfriend at his house once. the guy from the group also told my boyfriend that he could do better than me. I don't want to get back 'in' with them, I'm just tired of them being so petty. I'm not perfect of course, but what would anyone reccommend or advise on this situation? more

Resolved Question: Right guys, does this still sound too harry potterish or do I get the go ahead lol?

•What about if I made the plot that the boy was already a young wizard learning within a magical family. He knows that his father is part of the Witch Wizard Order and that one day he will take his place. It could be that whilst he is at school, a war has broken out, and both his parents were sent to help stop the new evil wizard. He receives a letter from the WWO , he is told that his parents are missing, and in order to find them he must collect various items, that have an inscription which must be read out when they are all together as they will open a portal, it would be now up to him to try and find his parents , before the evil wizard and his followers takes over the witches council. He isn’t very good at magic and must learn some pretty grown up stuff before his time. The person tells him that the first piece of the portal can be activated with a particluar ring and is somewhere within the school and that its a controller i.e it will help him find the other items needed to open the portal and bring them back. He doesn’t find the ring in time and the evil wizards followers start to disband the WWO and create a new Order. They slowly start to change school curriculum, teaching bad magic etc Those who sat on the council with the boys parents are banished to the real world? The cult are unaware that the Wizard leaders had a son. It’s a secret the WWO want to keep, so they protect him as he is their only hope. He can’t go back to the WWO headquarters as he will be discovered, so the remaining WWO people decide which 2 wizards he should live with at the end of term for the holidays. Before he leaves the school though, when packing his case in his dorm, he sees something shiny behind the bed stead, he moves the bed and lifts out a ring...Is there anything that could be changed to make it less HP? what would you guys like to read or for it to turn out?ah guys, I havent read the last 2 potter books, I didnt realise that there were death eaters at the school, or about the horcruxes. I had seen the film, but ad completely forgotten about those. Now I know why its still like HP thanks. more

Resolved Question: Have you thought about why you are here, are you truly content?

Most of the problems in this world are due to the fact that people think that they can get away with ruining other peoples lives in order to get their main goal which is their own happiness. Basically, greed. If a person does not think that there will be any consequences of their actions and that they can get away with lying, cheating, manipulating or controling people, to achieve their needs and they find that this is easier than going about things the correct way. Then what is their to stop them? This is what the world is at the moment. People acting like animals with no concern or care for anyone but themselves. Leaders can get away from being imprisoned when they are responsible for so many deaths. Their accountability does not just stop here it will extend to the state of the family of those that died and to their actions towards the injustice. People will go into prison but that does not change them either, and they come out doing the same thing. I have spoken to people that steal for a living because it means they can get £200 a day, easily and they will sacrifice a night in prison and come out learning how to dodge the law even more. The rich have all that they could want yet are taking drugs and breaking down and not happy. Their marriages are breaking down and they are struggling to keep themselves together. This is what happens to humans when left to their own devices, self-destruction. These people use religion (all religions) to achieve their goals however they do not follow it correctly. Allah created us so He knows us better than we know our ownsleves, He knows what is good for us and what is bad for us and He has given us guidelines that if we live by then we will be truly conent and be happy in this world and the next. more

Resolved Question: Apparently UAF are protecting me from Fascism .....................?

Apart from the fact that I don't need protection from anyone and if I did I'd hardly be likely to ask a bunch of knuckle dragging bipedal plankton to help , why are they unable to see all they are doing is stifling debate ? Are they even aware thar they're just being used by the status quo , when you consider that their leaders claim to be Marxist revolutionaries , this seems a bit strange . Lets look at recent history . In the 70s and 80s the Anti Nazi Leage ( forrunners of UAF , but still run by the same people ) used violence and intimidation to terrify the majority into silence . With help from their friends in the left wing media , the told the country that the Union flag and the St Georges flags were simbles of Fascism and racism , they scared the majority into silence to the extent that for thirty years no debate was had about immigration or the degridation of British culture . This allowed succesive governments to allowe uncontrolled mass imigration , which has made money for their mates in big bussines , and of course them through kick backs , but has been deverstating for normall people and has enevertable lead to more racial tension . So in fact the efforts of the ANL were totally counter productive and in fact created the very thing they claim to hate . Wouldn't it be better for everyone if UAF just stopped trying to protect us , before they help the government to create a completelly Fascist state ?2tone ; I'm at work now , why do you assume I'm racist ? More to the point do you even know what the word means ? I doubt it .L ; You must live in a dream world .Wolfie ; Answer the question , if you can .El Domingo ; Exactly my point . I don't expect everyone to agree with each other but surely reasoned debate should come above all else . How can UAF expect to be taken seriously when the won't debate the point . To say "we don't debate with fascists" is surely the biggest cop out imaginable , is it because they know that their argument doesn't hold water ? more
