Has anyone noticed how much peoples "taste" is influenced by what is popular / perceived to be good. For example in Australia Fosters beer was some what popular. Then it came popular to dis like it. From being a "good" beer enjoyed by many it turned into the laughing stock of the country. Even people who have not tasted say it's bad. They re branded the drink and sold it as a new brand called crown lager, it was a great, popular seller until people realized it was fosters in a new bottle. The back lash started and now hardly no one drinks the beer. Again this can be applied to Aftershave, Old spice was very popular. And for many years my father use to say it smelt like a nun's fanny. I bought a bottle the other day to try see and i found it to have a great fragrance and i now use it. Have you ever noticed this?In addition, people say beers are bad simply beacuse they are cheap. How is it everyone has the same guided taste? No one relys on what they actruly like and choose what everyone else says.For instance, Corona is very popular in Australia. Voting Question: My ABS didn't work properly and may have caused an accident?

I was traveling slowly with traffic about 25 mph, this is slow compared to the speed limit. It was raining pretty good, I was traveling home and there was one car in front of me Distance was about a telephone pole or telephone pole and a half. I was pretty good distance. A school bu started to stop down the street. I went to down shift. (manual transmission) the truck would not go into gear. The guy in front of me for some reason slammed on his brakes even though we were very far away from the school bus it was still down the street maybe 600 ft (Estimate I have no idea other than there was no need to slam on breaks.) I slammed on my breaks. The ABS system kicked in vibration in the pedals grinding in the pedals. Which is normal, but my vehicle did not slow down. It was like I never touched the brakes at all. I watched as all this distance closed. I stood on the pedal and hit the guy even though I had plenty of distance to stop. Now when I hit him we were still down the street from the bus. which now was proceeding to leave. As it has dropped off the kids. The police officer arrived and took my statement. I stated where we were and where the bus was and how it all happened. I stated the guy slammed on his breaks for no reason and I was unable to stop due to the ABS. Police officer said it didn't matter. But he didn't even to see if the guy was texting or why he slammed on his breaks. So now there is my issue. Hitting my breaks in Wet weather and my ABS system kicking in and not slowing the vehicle. What went wrong? When it was in for repair I brought it up to the collision guy who is also a mechanic.I brought it too a separate mechanic I go to he said they check out fine and then. I brought it to the dealer who said as the ABS ages they can get inaccurate readings and become over active, but they couldn't explain why the truck didn't slow down and stop. We went out for a test drive and so on but I could not get the ABS To repeat the problem. Unless I was on a hill and hit a bump. So I went down Mt Pleasant St which is a hill and hit the bump and almost went through the stop sign at the bottom of the hill. The truck was old and the guy said it needed to go in the shop. I ended up buying a new vehicle that day because of the problem and them being unsure. My old truck was a 1998 Nissan Frontier. (Granted it was modded with a lift kit and 31 inch AT tires. Tread was very conservative.) Stock tire is a 29 So I need to hear from other Mechanics out there. Have you heard of this problem. Because the appeals people at court found me 100% at fault for the accident because the police officer who wasn't there and did not listen to a thing I said. Stated I was following to closely even though I was more than enough distance to stop. They didn't believe me that my ABS caused the accident. I want to track down my old truck and show them I am not lying.Jetdoc: How did you get to top contributor?Speed Limit: 35 My speed 25 mph during wet conditions. Was always able to stop before. I want good answers not criticism from dick heads.Assumptions are the mother of all screw ups. How many times do I have to say 25 mph in a 35. A telephone poles distance away, Applying brakes as and proceeding as if I never touched them. A mechanic saying the systems can foul up along with the mechanic being part of a ride along witnessing me almost going through a stop sign and saying there is a problem. I came here to get more opinions not be insulted. I did convey security in Afghanistan with preventive maintenance of my vehicle day in and day out. Don't tell me I don't understand how to drive. I brought people back to base safely everyday while under fire. When I say there is a problem with the brakes. There dam well is, Over assuming idiots. I will not have my integrity questioned when I am obviously still aggravated by the experience of doing everything right and still not being able to stop. If we were face to face we would take it the tree line. Read the entire thread before commenting.Just talked to my mechanic, There was a problem, but he never sent the report to the insurance company because I never requested it. He is sending it today. Any advice with this job interview? A little over a year ago, I had a job interview, for a sales representative position at a car dealership. I came on here and asked for some help. Right after, I bought a pack of cigs, and smoked half of the pack that day. The next day, I got the job. I worked there for 7 months. I had this brilliant plan! Quit my job, put the money I earned in the stock market. Take some of the profit to pay for my classes. Finish college, and have a steady job. Reality: I lost a lot of the money I made in the stock market. Have to start working again to make it back. Anyway, I picked up smoking with that job. I quit smoking a month ago. There is nothing more nerve-wrecking for me than a job interview... Any advice? I'm nervous. I need a hair cut.. I need to print out my resume. Should I just reschedule? (If Canadian taxes) Is it income tax? if so, as an example, you have 411 shares of MSFT that you bought for $24.30 a share on Nov 25th 2011, and you sell today for 31.16 that equals 12806.76. Now the formula. (Minus the dividends) Buy. Nov 25th, 2011. 411*24.30 = 9987.3 Sell. May 13th, 2012 411*31.16 =12806.76 9987.3 -12806.76 = 2819.46 Are you taxed on the whole 12806.76 or the 2819.46 Gain? Canadian Federal income tax is 0.15% on $42707 and lower with Provincial tax in British Columbia (Province) is 5.06% on $37,013+ (Which you wouldn't be charged if your under it? would the formula be 12806.76*0.15=1921.014-12806.76=$10885.746. I've been trying to get my silver star in the past two days which is working AMAZINGLY! So far I have Airport, London Underground, and Borneo. Which leaves Syria and Monastery. (Im trying for skeletons too and I have 1 treasure for Genghis Khan and Marco Polo.) Here is my current loadout. Regeneration-Silver Team Safe-Silver. Cluster Bomb I used to have: Fleet Foot-Gold Bargain-Silver Team Medic. And that was just for arena because I wanted to level up. I kinda picked a bad time for trying for my star because I'm currently level 70 and on my 2nd legacy tier. So if I don't beat them I'll have to postpone my 3rd legacy upgrade. I wanna know if that is the best load out for trying for skeletons and a silver star. I also have over stock unlocked but I haven't used it yet so it's still bronze. I have kickbacks like Team Medic, Mega Bomb, and Sniper. I could also buy Army of Three or Protector. So please tell me your load out and what you think is the best for my situation. =) thanks! more

Long story short as i have been asking advice here for a couple of months now and it's been good to know i been thinking straight in all this. However when you have someone tugging at your heart strings it's hard and i find myself second guessing my decision, or maybe i was too harsh. The story so far, met a guy online we chatted for a few years. All the while we chatted i kept finding him out on different personal sex sites all looking for the same thing, him wanting a sexually unhibited female for casual sex. He always told me he was sorry and that he was a changed man because of me and that those profiles where old, even though i knew they were recently added i accepted his excuse and continued on. I am in Australia and he in USA. Eventuall after about 5 years he came to Brisbane to meet me and it validated my love for him and according to him, he felt the same. We agreed i would move to USA which i did a few months later and we were married a year after that. Then i found out he had cheated on wife number 1 for all their married life which was years and years. We are both in our 50s so not kids. In the days before internet he would answer newspaper ads and then sit outside the post office and see who would check out their PO box and then follow them home to see where they lived, then write to them telling them to be careful as they got followed. Must have put the fear of God in them i shouldnt wonder. When he told me all this, huge red flags went up and i thought, what have i dont. After that i just felt uneasy with him and asked if i could use his computer one day. He instantly deleted history favourites, another red flag, so i went into the guts of the computer and saw it all. porn, craigslist personals checking out w4m heading, adult friend finder. I asked him about it and he said it was morbid fascination and that he is a changed man because of me. I stewed on all this and decided he would never change, that he was a conn man and i returned to Brisbane. I had given him $100,000 so we could buy a new home which we did but it was me that made it a home painting and making nice while he caroused on dating sites watching me. I even did up old furniture making it new again outside in a freezing cold garage all through the winter months, trying to make a nice home. More fool me. I also paid off $20,000 credtit card debt. When i left he gave me $50.000 after deducting my air ticket and said i was getting no more as it had cost him $50.000 to keep me for the past 18 months. He has ibm stocks and at least $26.000 left of my money. Now he is texting and emailing me begging me to go back to him with words like, we belong together, you are the only woman for me, you changed me for every other woman and so on. Its heart breaking and i am feeling as though i have been too harsh on him. His first wife cleaned him out and never found out about the affairs. He told all our friends that i left him and now they think i am heartless and they dont even talk to me or email, he never told them the real reason. My question is, is it me thats wrong in thinking this way. Do i go back to him and give him another chance. The truth is, i am happy back in Australia but would give it up if i thought going back was best for me. Okay, here's how it is. I've grown up around dirt racing since I was a year old (I'm 15 now, 16 in October) because my mom's boyfriend of 14 years used to locally race midget cars and sprint cars, and I'm looking to get into racing myself. I want to start off in a street stocks on dirt, but I don't know if it would be cheaper to buy a used race car or build my own. Open Question: i cant decide which cpu to buy. 3570k or 3770. need some help deciding.?

i am going to build a new system in a few days and i can not decide which cpu to go with. the core i5 3570k or the core i7 3770 non-k. i am sure i want an ivy bridge just because its the newest. im the kind of person that buys the latest product when i upgrade, but i stick to it for a while. i currently have a phenom x2 555 rig and its pretty outdated. so getting to the point. this is what i intend to use the pc for: video rendering and encoding(atleast one video a week) some gaming(battlefield 3, call of duty mw3, sims 3, skyrim, and so on) your basic interweb stuff, macromedia flash animation making, some photoshop but not much. and some business use. pretty much i do it all on this computer. so with that information i would like opinions of which cpu to get. i found the 3570k for $190 at microcenter and the 3770 for $260 at microcenter. for some reason they dont have a non-k 3570 or a 3770k. im not much of an overclocker but i wouldn't mind trying it, but overclocking is not a big deal to me. with all that said let me show you the rest of the components that are going to make up this new rig; cpu: 3570k or 3770 mobo: asus p8z77-v pro ram: mushkin blackline 8gb 1600 gpu: msi r6850 oc(from my old rig) might add a second one later on psu: corsair AX750(for future upgrades) hdd: western digital caviar blue or black 500gb for boot drive case: NZXT switch 810 white sorry this is a very long question but i just wanted to get every detail in there so you guys can get an idea of what i will be using this for. im thinking i could really use the hyperthreading of the i7. but from what ive seen an i5 with a nice 4ghz overclock keeps up with a stock i7. the only reason i think i need hyperthreading is for serious multitasking as in video encoding on one screen and something else on another. but will it make much of a difference? is it worth the extra $70. also at microcenter if you buy a 3570k with a p8z77-v pro its $50 off the mobo. so thats very temping as well. help.I KNOW THE I7 IS MORE POWERFUL. Open Question: Should I buy these shoes, or save my money to invest in stuff?

I'm 15, and into fashion but also know a lot about investing in the stock market and real estate. I know because I read books. Now I have limited money, but you jsut don't understand how much I want these shoes. If I buy the shoes, it will wipe out my entire tiny bank account (about $600+) and I won't have any to invest. Since it's $600, it's a pretty big loss but my methods of making money could get me my money back in a month or more. So I need level headed advice, because I can't think straight. You just wouldn't understand how much i'd love to have these shoes ever since I was 14 but never bought them because I felt I had to save. So based on this, should I buy the shoes or save my money so I can invest it in the stock market or some place else. Either way, I have a method of making more money :) more

I originally thought about trading forex however there is a high risk factor and the possibility of losing more than I invest has put me off. Open Question: F150 ambient lighting kit fuse wire options?

I have a 2011 ford f150 and I bought an ambient lighting kit from LEDGLOW. My truck did not come with the ambient lighting package. Anyways, I want to wire the kit so that it turns on and off when my navigation turns on and off. As of now I have it wired to an empty fuse. However, the lights stay on even when the car is off, unless I turn them off. I want them to turn on and off automatically. On when I open the door and am driving around and stuff. Then I want them to turn off when the key is removed from the ignition. Or when the radio turns off when the door is opened. There is a fuse in my car that is for the stock ambient lighting. However, being my car doesn't have the kit from the factory, can I run it to that fuse and would all the timings be like the stock kit?? Or would it just act like the empty fuse im using right now? Also, there is a fuse that controls the nav display. Can I run the wire to that fuse?? Would that blow the fuse because it is already being used for the nav display?? Or would that work?? I'm going to be real rudimentary in my line of questioning, just so that I don't give out an impression that I am seeking financial advisement or anything to do with seeking a brokerage, for which I am not. Though what I am interested in, is a corroboration of how I think buying a stock works. .... starting real simple here, remember, I am wanting to just to get a clear understanding on the basic premise of how money is affected in the investing cycle. Okay, let' say a stock costs $15. I purchase say two shares at $30. Then say after a week, the stock rises in price to $17 - what happens if I sell? And conversely, say if the price dipped to $13 - what happens if I don't sell? In other words, is it as simple and straightforward as logic dictates? Can someone be so kind as to explain a simple, layman, rudimentary life cycle of a stock purchase in both a winning and losing situation. Open Question: SPLAT REBELLIOUS COLORS DISASTER!?

I did a bleaching kit from them, my normal one was not in stock. I bought THREE of the SAME kits. One was for emergency, and I know Splat is sometimes runny, so the second was to make sure I got everything evenly. I've dyed my hair many times before and I know what I am doing. First off following the directions on mixing it, there was a problem. The solution stayed basically like water until I shook it for eight minutes instead of one. But I went one against my better judgement. I applied it all evenly, and saved the third bottle for any emergency touch ups. After an hour (my normal bleaching time) I washed out the dye and to my utter horror my roots were platinum blonde, as were my temples, but most of my hair remained jet black, and a few strands (mostly the underneath part of my hair) turned a very ugly brassy color. Also when the bleaching kit was in my hair it started to get flaky and scatter everywhere! I am dismayed, it is two in the morning, I used my emergency bleaching kit and it did NOTHING, so how do I bleach the rest of my hair?! I have been contimplating sacrificing one of my conditioners and adding a little straight bleach to it and leaving it in to maybe even it up... But it needs to be fixed and now! No stores are open so I can't run and get a different kit! more

Id like to learn how much you can safely invest. For instance the volume etc, i dont understand it. For instance last week AHFD went up 118% monday, so if I had bought $50,000 of shares which were at 0.011 a share. Id have purchased 4,545,454 shares. If Id of sold at the highest profit point that day Id take $105,900 home minus the $7 fee from scottrade right? If its that easy why dont all people do this... I know penny stocks are very risky and not a secure way to make money, but id see them being safer than lottery, casinos, or scratch off tickets any day of the week if you do your homework. So my main questions are what are the things to look at when wanting to invest in penny stocks? How do you know how many share you can safely buy without upsetting the company all together.
