hey again guys, i am facing a problem and im not really sure what to do. i am in an internet cafe with 25 computers which previously had windows xp. i took one computer and did a fresh install of windows 7 and installed drivers and games e.t.c. Then i took that disk and mirrored it with norton ghost. i used the mirrored disk to 2 of 25 computers and it worked perfectly. but then when i did ghost to 3 other computers succesfully, when windows trying to load it restarts immidiately when windows logo appears. i figured is something to do in the bios and changed drive to both legacy and native but still nothing. i inserted windows 7 disk to repair but it says startup repair cannot repair this computer automatically. i opened cmd and tried: bootrec /fixMBR bootrec /fixBoot bootrec /rebuildBCD bootrec /scanOS still nothing. what am i missing here? any help would be appreciated. thanks. Just a general question about Windows 7. I've been using windows for years and years starting from 3.11, 95,98, xp, vista, win7 When I had vistas I always had my updates on and every bloody time it was installing and downloading some updates, my windows seemed to be getting heavier and slower, I had a few clean intallations of vista but every 10 months or so it started getting heavy, I'm i always keep my laptop clean, registery and unintalling apps i don't need and chec for malware too. When I upgraded on win 7 I decided to turn off all the updates completely and never needed single one, downloaded framework separate and adobeflash, java. I have it over 2 years and all is fine. I am just wondering what;s all the fuzz about, how come I don;t need it and all is running fine, please tell me someone what am I missing. By the way i dont use windows essentials or what it's called the antivirus. I have avast+spybot+malwarebytes combo Thanks Do you recommend updates or not? Here's the problem, I just installed a D-Link wireless adapter (DWA 547 N650) in my desktop pc and it is refusing to connect to my wifi, however it does connect to ad hoc networks to my laptop and my laptop connects perfectly to the wifi. Is there anyway I can bridge these two connections? Or does anyone know how to make the wireless adapter work? hey guys im recently trying to recover my windows 7 vista home premium but im having trouble using the system restore function on my windows xp, at first the group policy for using system restore was locked due to group policy but i enabled it back again using the registry editor, now when i go into system restore the drives are turned off and i cannot click on any of the drives and it is telling me to re-install the sysrestore.hlp file because it cannot find it. i have tried installing the C:>Windows folder>Inf Folder>SR.INF file to try and repair it but it sais: the file "sr.sys" on windows xp proffessional service pack 3 cd is needed and under it it sais type the path where the file is located and then click ok. idk why it is asking me for a cd if my compaq presario sr5450f originally came with windows 7 vista home premium but i had to give it to a distant family member to fix it because i would log in and at not even 5 minutes it would crash(blue screen) so he put the software that he did on here for the mean time although the mean time turned out to be for 4 years. i do have the product key for it but it didnt come with a recovery cd but i really dont want to loose all the old memories and pictures ect that are already on here. can i mention i dont know how to back up:( can anybody help me in anyway anything would help i want to get my windows 7 back and keep all the stuff i already have in here thank you. more

When I reconnect to my home network or turn on my computer, it takes 1-5 minutes loading until it finally can connect to something like Google.com. After those 1-5 minutes of waiting, the speeds are incredibly slow for about a minute. I have the same problem when connecting to a VPN. I used Windows troubleshooter awhile back, "Windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings" was the response. I have applied the commands "netsh winsock reset" and then "netsh int ipv4 reset" with no success.My ISP isn't the problem, the modem (provided by my ISP) and router work fine. Other devices can connect through them fine. It is solely my laptop computers fault.I completed a full scan of my computer with "Comodo Antivirus" and still have the problem persisting. more

I was having problems with XP Pro,so i desired to install Windows 7 basic edition. everything is alright except for this volume issue, happens that i'm getting volume sound from the speakers and the earphones at the same time. as you know once you plug in the earphones automatically the speakers get mute but it doesn't work that way. In Windows XP 32 bit, I have Microsoft Security Essentials as my virus protection program. If you open the program, and look in the task manager, both will show that the program is in fact running and real-time protection is enabled. It is also set to run at start up. However, in the Windows Security Alerts, it does recognize that I have the program installed, but it claims that it is not running. This is annoying because every time I start the computer, the window comes up by the notifications on the task bar telling me its off. How can I fix this? I'm using a Dell Inspiron 5100 if that makes any difference, with Windows XP service pack 3.I have tried Avast! before, and I didn't like it because it seemed to be a very heavy program, it was annoying as well, constantly putting messages on my screen while I'm trying to work and literally talking to me all the time. Are there are other free programs that you would recommend that are quieter? more

I am using dell inspiron 1525 32bit. I upgraded it to windows 7 Home Premium. After upgration, I lost audio effect from dell webcam console. I have video effect but the audio effect is gone. everywhere i see the max the laptop can take is 2gb, as this came with vista, it runs/walks at a snails pace and freezes when you do anything, what would happen if i added a 2gb stick instead of the 1gb stick so i would have 3gb installed, it currently has 2x 1gb 667 sticks at present. im looking at this for a friend and he cant afforsd to buy windows 7 neither does he want xp installed, its currently using 1.4gb just to run the damn thing, hate vista ! more

ok so i have this wndows 8 sony vaio and i tried to install this external graphics card to connect it to a monitor but it says compatible with windows xp and vista but i did it anyways so i installed the driver right after i installed it it told me to restart the laptop so i did next thing i know the windows 8 search doesnt work and it says explorer.exe execution failed and internet explorer wont open -_- but i dont know if its the driver that did this or the windows updates i installed on it .....i already tried deleting the driver location manually in program files\tritton\ but it still doesnt work HELP ME PLEASE more
