Open Question: Heart pain being released after warm liquid feeling releases?
I have been having on and off heart pain more so intensified over the past month. This evening as I was laying in bed meditating to a "Relaxation" sleep hypnosis cd I felt my heart muscle squeeze and I felt a warm liquid coming out it felt like it went down a valve or my spine or something but, it just felt good warm and soothing. After this happened I was immediately able to breath better and I am wondering what this means. I appreciate any help or suggestions in the matter. Thank You! moreVoting Question: Should I take anti-depressants and/or anti-anxiety pills?
I'm 19 years old, for as long as i can remember I've been unhappy and extremely anxious. Anxiety runs in my family apparently, my father used to have 'anxiety attacks' all the time before he passed away. I always assumed it would go away eventually but it hasn't. I can't sleep because when i go to bed I start having thoughts like "oh no!!! i have to go do (something i don't like) tomorrow" and even if there's nothing coming up the next day I'll lay there thinking of possible future situations like "oh no!!! i have to do an oral presentation in a few months". I am constantly thinking and worrying and I can never just enjoy the moment, as a result it's hard to make friends and so I'm quite lonely and depressed. I have tried hypnosis/ relaxation tapes, breathing exercises etc. but nothing helps. Should I get some sort of pills, if so what type (depression or anxiety or both)? And do i just go to the doctor and ask for a prescription? moreResolved Question: Self Hypnosis Question?
I used to really enjoy self hypnosis. I would do it all the time, go on these elaborate journeys, have these weird fantasies. Now, every time I try, it's like something is holding me back. I can't get out of the place I'm in. I'm just really numb, no relaxation at all. No dreaming, or journey, it's like I know where I am all the time I'm trying to leave, my hypnosis hasn't been the only thing affected here lately. I haven't been able to dream any more either. My dreams have always been my guide in life. What's happening? moreResolved Question: self--hypnosis track?
A year or so ago i found a track that guided me through the whole physical relaxation (psychologically). Where you start with your feet and work your way up in your mind, relaxing your body. I cant seem to find where i put this track. It was on a free site and had some waves in the background. I know alot of these are answered with "go to this site and but this, its the best ever" That is NOT what i want. moreResolved Question: Trouble with eyes staying closed during trance/hypnosis?
I have trouble keeping my eyes closed during trance or hypnosis sessions. Specifically my left eye. When I completely relax the muscles in my face and brow, the eye kind of opens up letting let and vision in at the bottom. I feel like, if I move my eyes (literally, look upward toward my scalp) that kind of counteracts it but then I'm using muscle to do that. I haven't been able to "go under" for my audio relaxation mp3s and it's kind of bumming me out. Any suggestions to counter this and maybe achieve better trance? moreResolved Question: Christians, which one of the following brainwave states brings me closer to feeling the presence of God?
a) ALPHA BRAINWAVE Alpha brainwaves have a frequency of 7 to 13 pulses per second. The alpha wave state is a sign of deep relaxation while awake. Like theta, it can be used in hypnosis and accelerated learning. Simply by closing your eyes, your brain starts to generate more alpha brain waves. b) THETA BRAINWAVES Theta brainwaves are associated with dreaming and REM-stage sleep and sometimes light sleep. This is where brain activity pulses anywhere from 4 to 7 times per second. But theta also occurs several times throughout the day. If you’ve ever “zoned out” while driving or otherwise went on mental “auto pilot”, that means you entered theta. Likewise, if you’ve ever gotten into the “flow” while jogging, that’s also theta. Deep meditation is another example. Theta can be used for creative flow states, where ideas seem to come effortlessly. Theta is also exploited in hypnosis as well as several accelerated learning programs. c) DELTA BRAINWAVES Delta brainwaves have a frequency of about 4 pulses or less per second, as if the brain is breathing slowly and heavily. The brain generally only enters the delta state during the deepest stages of sleep, appropriately known as “slow-wave sleep”. a) OR b) OR c)?Alpha wave - you feel it when you close your eyes Theta wave - while in deep meditation Delta wave - while in deep sleepI already invited Jesus into my heart. But I need to alter the normal state of my conscieousness to feel His presence because the normal state of conscieousness (beta brainwave) involves agitation not peace moreResolved Question: Can anyone tell me the difference between, hypnosis, meditation and relaxation?

I have suffered from social anxiety and depression for 3/4 years and got help about a year ago. I started to write a lot on yahoo a few months ago because the conseller i went to couldn't help, she was very understanding but the techniques didn't work. A lot of people have tried to give me advice on yahoo, and although I am very grateful they didn't work. No medication worked for me, prosac failed to do anything and just made it worse. I do keep up with cognitive behavioral therapy but it still hasn't worked and i actually feel worse since starting it 6 months ago. All the techqniues i have used either didn't work or worked for a tiny bit before giving me a huge low the next day, which makes me wish i had never been born, it sounds pathetic as nothing else is going on in my life thats particularly wrong (its just a lot of small things, although a few have affected me worse then others) but i can't help feeling like that, whenever someone tells me to be happy for what i have and to stop being so selfish, i try but i often feel worse. I know its a selfish thought to go on about how anious and depressed i am but the feeling just won't go away and i hate living like this, i am anxious literally 24/7 and i forgot what it feels like to be more relaxed and happy, even for a second. I have almost got to feel a second of no anxiety with some technqiues such as CBT but these have been for under a second. I don't know why it isn't working but it just doesn't stick even though i practice CBT every day. Relaxation techiques don't work and nor does hypnosis because im too anxious when they happen,so i can never be relaxed, im always to anxious to last for more then a second. Hypnosis makes me feel a little better during, even though i am still very anxious, but fails completely afterwards, i feel the same or worse. So i hope this gives anyone reading this a good picture about my situation so does anyone know if anxiety can be incurable? If it is i will stop trying to reduce the anxiety and try and live with it rather then getting even more anxious about it not going away. Also please no religious comments as I am not religious, i just point this out because every post their is a religious one but these can't answer my question. No offense to anyone who is religious, its just not for me.Lastly, i always do try and get involved in social activities its not like i hide away but getting involved in them hasn't made me feel better i feel worse. Again i don't know why this happens. moreResolved Question: How to perform self hypnosis?

I can't sleep! I will be so tired sometimes and unable to fall asleep. I seriously think I am an insomniac. sometimes I will lay in bed for up to 4 hours before falling asleep. I am in college and sleep is something that I obviously need. many nights I only get about 4 hours and will feel fatigued and tired all day long but when I try to fall asleep again at night I have the same problems. I have tried everything that I can think of: I've listened to hypnosis cds, relaxation cds, counted sheep, taken nyquil but no matter what I cant seem to get on a normal sleeping schedule. moreResolved Question: I have bruxism (just clenching - not grinding)?
I wear a bite guard and have for about 4 years. That's fine but I still have the habit and I can feel the fallout in my jaw, neck, and shoulder. I take calcium, magnesium, and potassium every day for muscle relaxation. I don't clench during the day, only when I'm asleep. I do have OCD but I'm not willing to take psych meds for anxiety (I'm doing great with CBT for behaviors). I don't have any unusual stressors in my life. I've looked at the various devices on the market and they don't seem very useful for most people. I won't get Botox shots - period. Have any of you with this habit successfully cured it with hypnosis, auto-hypnosis, Christian prayer, physical exercises, or some combination?"Bruxism" actually covers both grinding and clenching - just to be clear. I only clench but the effects are similar. I've lost a tooth from it. moreResolved Question: can we do self hypnosis for relaxation and also meditation?

Last week I asked my boy friend to hypnotize me and fix my problem of getting real scared by bugs. I got into deep relaxation and everything went well. I feel all relaxed on my bed and I don't want to get out of hypnosis. After he fixed my problem, he suddenly said all these suggestions about having sex with him. I don't know why but after he finished his hypnotic suggestions, I just feel I wanted to have sex with him and I love him more than ever. He slowly strip off my cloth and he got over me and strip himself too. This is when I snapped out of hypnotize, but I still felt extremely excited about having sex with him, and you know what happened next. I don't know how this happened but now, I still feel the same as that night. I love him very much and I do kind of want sex with him, but know I felt that I want to have sex with him every single night. Okay, so i'm a 17 year old girl and my absolute worst fear is public speaking. When I was younger like elementary school i could do it, but now I can't. It's been a problem I've been struggling for years now and I hate it so much. I've tried almost everything to make myself better; therapy, vitamins, relaxation techniques, and even hypnosis. NONE of these things have even helped a little. So far in my high school career I've gotten out of most presentations but next year I'm going to college and I know I'm not going to be able to get away with it there. The straw that broke the camels back was today. In my health class we had to do group presentations and I was terrified but I decided to try and do it. All I had to say was one line but as my time to speak approached I had a panic attack. I get them whenever I think about giving a presentation or actually giving one. I couldn't breath, my heart was beating like crazy, I got really hot and dizzy, my whole body was trembling, and I felt like I was going to pass out. It was horrible. I just looked at the teacher and said "I can't do this" with tears in my eyes. I felt awful and embarrassed. Both my parents are psychologist, so they understand what I'm going through. I called my dad from school sobbing from my panic attack and convinced him to call my doctor, so I would hopefully get some type of pill that will help. But I need advice from anyone out there. What kind of drugs are there that help people like me? Anybody go through anything similar? I honestly cannot physically get up and speak in front of people. Also, please don't say anything like imagine the audience in their underwear or practice in front of a mirror. those things do nothing. Thanks for any info and advice, it is greatly appreciated. moreResolved Question: Sex: Now that I have your attenion answer my question?

I have, especially during the last few years do to life happenings, become a VERY anxious person, at times depressed. I, however, just went to my college football game and had an anxiety attack, sweating, heart racing, throat closing, panicky feeling. This has happened several times but now its getting in the way of my life, anxiety all the time. Does anyone know of some good medications I could talk to my doctor about, good natural or herbal cures, meditation/self hypnosis or relaxation tips, and foods with nutrients that can ease anxiety? So, I came back from a session with my psychologist. Basically he told me to lie down in the chair. He then waved his finger gently in front of my face and told me that he will cont from 1 to 5, and that at five I close my eyes. I closed my eyes, but I don't know if I was doing it consiously or uncosciously. I think I was just doing what he told me to do? Is this what hypnosis is? And then, he just sort of went through relaxation. To feel temperature changes when I breathe, sounds in the room etc... I remember a few times I wished for it to be over, as I was getting sick of lying still. Surely this means I wasn't hypnotised. moreVoting Question: help stange symptoms???????

You guys do realise that this fact is not confined to Christians dont you?? (This is in response to another user tonight stating Christians are healthier). It reminded me that Al Qaeda recruiters spliced together spectacular explosions from blockbuster action movies Burly Judith Furse was a Gestapo phoney physio in a PoW hospital She craftily diagnosed a Canadian airman secret agent as having strained his neck & shoulders to an extent that needed deep massage While working initially on his shoulders with her huge hands - (was she a discus/shot put thrower before her movie career?) - she whispered her wily hypnosis stuff, moving behind him to watch him in a mirror "Such soreness needs deep relaxation to treat you properrr-ly .. & you are SOOOO tired ... let my gentle voice help you go into a very DEEEEEEP SLEEEEEP" Her circling fingers expertly compressed the carotid arteries, to cut off the blood supply to the brain, as she asked him to unload his traumatic experience by telling her everything As soon as she could tell he was not really going under her spell, she swiftly snapped iron bands that held his wrists firmly to the arms of the chair Then switched her fingers from stroking to choking as she assked zee kvesss-tyunsss, acting like she was doing him a huge favour by letting him breath enough to reply to each one, before piling on the pressure again, to try & keep him in constant fear for his life, as well as the excruciating agony Sliding round to his side when he still proved stubborn, while still squeezing the carotids to keep him on the edge of unconsciousness, she suddenly & savagely pressed her right palm against his Adam's Apple Even in black & white, you could see his face suddenly change colour & hear a sickening dull crack & see his throat visibly constrict in her vice-like grip His coughing, choking fit was not acting: she'd definitely got carried away in the role of sadistic SS guard & Gestapo interrogator I'm sure modern terrorist torturer trainers use a kinda similar 007 clip, where Roger Moore was sat locked in stocks by Barbara Carrera - (who'd also played 'Nursie' - who, early in a 007 film, delighted in beating up & strangling an errant agent who was made up to look like a leading politico, for his bad blunder) She straddled Bond's lap as she screwed the metal band, sadistically slowly till it was so tight round Roger Moore's throat that, again, his deepening face colour & agonised expression were not acting What were both films called? I listened to one of the CDs today (Confidence CD) and I found it hard to pay attention as he was taking so long with the relaxation. He took approximately 25 minutes giving numerous suggestions for relaxation. He then preceeded with the positive affirmations but I just feel that it was too long. The CD itself lasted 60 minutes. Does it really take that long to get relaxed? Is that the amount of time needed for hypnosis to be effective? I ask because today I almost fell asleep, although there's a possibility it could have been amnesia, who knows. I was considering fast forwarding the relaxation to 15 minutes, but I'm a tad bit worried I will not get the most out of it if I do. I'm pretty certain I could relax myself into a deep trance within 5-10 minutes. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. moreResolved Question: psychology help please????
