Resolved Question: My son is 49 years old and heavely addicted to cigaretts, he has tried the drug Welbutrin , any ideas to help.?
He coughs and can not go anywhere with out smoking. Has anyone tried hypnosis ? moreResolved Question: Should i breast feed or stop smoking?
Before i found out i was pregnant i smoked really heavily, now i've cut dowwn but have been told by doctor and midwife that if i go cold turkey (the only safe way of stopping while pregnant) It'll be very dangerous for baby and me. I've been told i can have the tablets once baby's born so i can finally stop (tried everything from cold turkey, to NRT, therapy to hypnosis, the tablets are literally my last chance). I've tried to get them before but you normally have to go to group meetings and i'm agoraphobic so thats a big no no, cos of the ammount i smoke and my other problems doc has finally agreed to put me on them. (no i'm not being selfish, i'm racking my brains with guilt over it, i can not help being ill, before you judge maybe you should see why i'm like this: http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AvTPdXdTz1Q51p6CPbNUyB4hBgx.;_ylv=3?qid=20100312224653AA6wLnB ). I REALLY want to breast feed, i couldn't with my daughter cos of mastitis, and although we have an amazing bond and she's never been ill etc i feel guilty i couldn't do it. Now i've got to decide, get the help i desperately need to stop smoking or breast feed. What would you do/ I mean I DON'T want to smoke any more. I haven't for years, and surely the benefits to my children and myself from stopping smoking will outweigh the benefits of breast feeding? And no, it really isn't as simple and 'just stopping' and it's rather naive and stupid to think it is.I take it before she cut down your wife wasn't smoking between 50 - 100 a day? I'm down to around 20 now, but sometimes it's more.Nicotine withdrawal in pregnancy, if strong enough as mine will be, can cause problems in baby's growth, miscarriage, life long health problems, fetal distress and premature labour, along with many other problems. And you can't use NRT while pregnant cos that can cause just as many problems. It really isn't as simple as just stopping, like i said. It's champix, one of 2 stop smoking meds, both are not safe while pregnant.Look i'm not asking what you think abut me smoking, i'm asking whether you think that after the bby's born i should stop smoking with the help or breast feed. it's as simple as that. I have tried absolutely everything to stop smoking apart from the tablets. I know it doesn't work for me. And quitting from 15-30 a day is a lot easier than it would be for me. Also, if you don't know the risks of nicotine withdrawal in pregnancy maybe you should check with your doctor, It can be deadly! moreVoting Question: hypnosis help, experiences, advice?
Hello! I'm looking to get hypnotized for trust issues. Like being irrational and letting thoughts run away from me in my marriage. I have seen downloads available online but don't want to buy one without a review from someone who has used it. OR used an actual person to be hypnotized. If you used tapes or CD's or whatever, it could be for something else like quitting smoking but I'd like to know the brand and your experience. Thanks! moreResolved Question: How did you finally stop smoking cigarrettes?
What methods did you use to get you to successfully quit smoking (ie: hypnosis, chantix, weaning etc). How did you get over the routine cravings like after eating, driving, with coffee etc? I am starting to get sick again and I want to quit before winter gets here so it doesn't get worse. I've tried to many methods before and nothing worked. I feel I am too weak to quit! But for my own health and for my son I need to stop! Also, how do you deal with quitting if your spouse smokes and doesn't want to quit? moreResolved Question: rate my pokemon soul silver team so far?

I go through phases of intense study and then i calm down and start to slack off (over the course of about 3 months; the last few weeks being the slacking stage)... I do the "treats", the "small breaks", the "study groups", and yes it does work but in those few weeks my slacking is just terrible, I bail on study group sessions, doing readings alone, just take treats with no purpose of the reward aspect of it, and those few weeks turn into a long long break. Sooo... I have been doing a little research and I have been considering hypnosis, because I have heard a few people quit smoking through this in my family. However, I don't fully beleive in it and it costs a lot (89$ for assessment then 199$ per session; average 6 sessions for full dose). Does anyone have anymore ideas to get me out of that loop? and please don't tell me I do need a break after studying that long, because that is not helpful to me. My objective is to raise my GPA since my first year really ruined me, so inorder to do that I am trying really hard to get 4.0s in everything. Thank you soo much in advance! moreResolved Question: This incident has really got me down....Is this what the world has come to? Social Situation help please.?
Right aplogies if this sounds long-winded and no big deal, but for some reason this situation has really got me down. And any advice would help. thanks in advance. I went out on Friday night to a local nightclub. As usual, I was socialising, etc. Two girls walked by me in the smoking area (I saw a mark on one of the girls lower neck, which I thought was lipstick or split drink) and I asked her 'What is that?', at the time thinking she wasnt aware of it. She quickly informed me that it was in fact a scar from a heart operation she had. I quickly apologised, and she asked me for a cigarette to make up for it, which I gave her immediately. Later back in the smoking area, the same two girls. The girl with the scar asked me for a light; (I was tipsy a little bit, but I know what I said). 'I remember you' I said and apolgised again for the previous misunderstanding. She then pointed out a bracelet on my wrist. Its a 'Krishna Peace' bracelt- and i Proceeded to tell her thats why I was so apologetic and that one of my main philosophies is not causing people/living things hurt. Then for some reason she went and sat on a stair close by (still in the smoking area of the club) and told her friend that I was making fun of her scar and started sobbing. Her Friend then launched into a an absolute verbal tirade (abuse, swears, threats) against me; I was literally gobsmacked. She told me to get out of her sight, etc. I DIDNT DEFEND MYSELF AT ALL or SAY a word back, apart from apologising to her sobbing friend ;-( I would usually have launched into defending myself and literally started giving verbal abuse back but I didn't. God knows if it was cause I'd been drinking, thus couldn't be bothered with the hassle or the fact I am just not agressive, but usually I am assertive enough to say the right thing. Perhaps I was overly passive because of the alcohol. She then got the sobbing girls BF, who wanted me to apologise unreservedly to his GF, which I'd already done. The verbal attacking girl by the way, was physically obese and unattractive (im not just saying that, she genuinely was) What would have been the best way to deal with this situation (e.g. aggressive person)? Any good Psychological-based tactics (anyone with a good pyschological background, please advise). Is it true, that people seem to attack people who appear too nice? I mean if I hadn't been apologetic or given the girl a cigarette and a light after, i'm sure that she would neither have been looking to cause trouble nor would her friend have launched such a tirade for no reason? In the space of a couple days, it seems to have affected my confidence (silly as it sounds, I have re-run that incident a few times over in my head and wat I should have done). Any psychological tactics to help ease the anger, etc from this incident? By the way In this situation I was alone, though I went to the club with my brother and it is pretty much . This Occurence has really got me down....and I'm rather angry to, if i'm honest. I can't believe I let someone treat me so badly, for no reason. Oh yeah any psychologocal tactics to prevent such relatively minor incidents getting to me? Appreciate advice from someone who knows pyschological/NLP?Hypnosis techniques which have worked. God bless.x moreResolved Question: Quitting smoking help?
I am really wanting to quit smoking. last time I tried to cut down, I got to 8 cigarettes a day and I FREAKED OUT. I was just wondering for anyone who has quit how the bloody hell did you do it? Just one last thing this is proberly the worst part Im only 20 y/o and ive been smoking 8 years, that's pretty bad :O !!! Thanx :D moreResolved Question: To what extent can a person be hypnotized?
I have seen stage performers hypnotize people (friends) and I have seen people who have been hypnotized to stop smoking, alcoholics to become sick after drinking even a drop of liquor/beer, and people who have hypnotic regression done to remember something that they have psychological block on, I have even experience road hypnosis while driving. But I consider that one extreme boredom mixed with exhaustion. But really just how far can a person be hypnotized? Is this something that is truly a "power" that some people have over others, or is it meanly people falling to the power of suggestion? If it is a skill/technique that people have how do they learn to do it? How far can a person be placed under hypnotic suggestion? Can you get someone to do something that is completely out of their nature; for instance, have an introverted person stand infront of a crowed room and moon everyone while whistling ode to joy. Or having a person who is afraid of birds to let a giant golden eagle to sit on the shoulder? Does anyone have experience with hypnotism, either clinically (meaning a psychiatrist or other mental health professional hypnotized you) or through some other means. What was your experience did you feel like you wear really hypnotized, did you remember it, what was your experience? Thank you for your answers, I am seriously curious about this so please give serious answers. Again thank you. moreResolved Question: what was it like when you got aborted?
i recently started seeing a therapist to help me stop smoking, and she did this past-life-regression-hypnosis thing on me, and i learned that in 4 of my past lives i was aborted. she told me that that was surprisingly common. but during the hypnosis it was like i was actually there, being aborted on her $150 an hour couch. it wasn't what i would have imagined it to be. it was like i was suddenly there and then i suddenly got tickled and then i suddenly wasn't there. so for everyone else out there who's been in therapy and realized that they were aborted in a past life, what was it like for you? moreResolved Question: Can hypnosis give me an STI?
Hello. I was recently ill in hospital, and a blood test confirmed I had an STI, which the doctors insisted only could have come from sex. However, I had a blood test 8 months ago, and it was clean (and would have tested for that illness). I haven't had any sexual contact in the last 8 months, and so I must have got it from somewhere else. The only difference in my life is that I'm being hypnotised to help me quit smoking. Could he be doing it wrong, as he is not licenced? moreResolved Question: Do you believe Hypnosis truly works for the following problems... If so, why?
Do you believe it would work for the following, If so, why? 1. addictive behavior [cigarette smoking] as NOTHING else has worked. 2. modify someones personality. For example... my relationships tend not to last long because I CONSTANTLY push people away by doing stupid things because I don't want to get too close, so would Hypnosis work to help me STOP doing these ''stupid things''. -or the fact that I always let things go until the very last minute, self sabotage, my mantra is ''I can do it tomorrow''... then tomorrow comes and I push it off until it's too late. 3. ive been playing video games and handball for a very long time now and have been very good at them. I used to be semi pro at every FPS i played including halo, counterstrike, call of duty, unreal tournament, tribes 2, etc etc but suddenly i stopped playing as good as i used to and now i cant get any better. It seems that no matter how hard i try, i can't get any better at anything i do, i play handball and im stuck at this one level, i make mistakes that i never used to make and my instinctual reaction time isn't what it used to be. I used to know where to move and when to move for both video games and sports. This instinct guided me through social events as well but i don't possess that instinct anymore, atleast i feel. This all happened when i stopped working out and once i lost a certain amount of muscle mass it seems like my body and mind changed. Now i don't go to the bathroom as much, i can't hold my piss in as long as i used to, my lungs can't support as much smoke as they used to (for cigarettes and weed) and i just overall have less endurance. I tried going to neurologist but he said everything but my memory was fine, but i didnt feel that way. I believe this has somethign to do with my bowels. Now when i eat i shit out the same amount every time and i only shit once a day even if i eat more then i normally do. Its like my biological clock is off or im stuck in homeostasis. Thats another thing, i can go over 3 days without eating and not lose any weight , i ahve a fast metabolism and ive never been fat in my life but i used to beable to lose weight if istopped eating as much or stopped working out for a bit. So could a hypnotist help find what im missing, the gift i was given that helped me throughout my life, or is it gone for good. Am i going to be this way forever? It seems my mind is always in the same state of mind and like im at my maximum 24/7. I also used to be able to fall asleep during the day after school but now after i sleep for 10 hours i can't fall back asleep until the time i fell asleep the other night. If i try to go to bed any earlier i just won't fall asleep even if i did strainous activities. WHAT COULD I DO moreResolved Question: Do you think hypnotherapy works?

I was having a discussion with this Christian guy about drug addiction....and he kept talking about the Word and the Spirit & about strugglin and about resisting temptation& about standing firm in Faith(& Blah blah blah)Hallelujah this and Hallelujah that and Amen to this and Amen to that...and i was telling him that i had heard and read about how people have went to a hypnotist to stop smoking...and it worked! I said *IF* that's true and that *IF* that really does work...that:Maybe it possibly could work on drug addiction( to a major degree or to a minor degree) So instead of him saying "Sir,I disagree with you..HE Says: "Hypnosis? That's of the Devil! That's of the DEVIL!" It wasnt just him that did that.....Different Christians in different times &places do that crap too! i've been hypnotized to quit smoking and it's got me confused! i have no cravings whatsoever, it like magic :) but i still feel like i want a cigarette sometimes? i've not smoke since getting it done except for 1 just to see what it would be like and i got nothing from it, i thought it was horrible to be honest, and that's coming from a 20pack a day smoker. i feel like a non smoker now. i think maybe the shock of making the transition smoker to non smoker so fast has me confused and left a void or something has anyone had the same sort of experienced with hypnosis's? moreResolved Question: Is it really that hard to quit smoking?
This is a second question related to my first post. My pregnant girlfriend is over a pack a day smoker and has been for more than a decade. Does anybody know if hypnosis really works? Is it that hard to quit smoking? What are the physical effects of just cold turkey quitting nicotine after that much use? moreResolved Question: Why do I have a problem with "time"?
I've had this most of my life.Is this what psychologists call "timelessness thinking"? (I think there is such a term or something similar to it). It boils down to this: ask me when a certain event in the past happened and I would have a hard time telling you when. If it was five months ago, I might say 3 months ago. If it was 10 years ago, I might say 7 (BTW, it's not always a difference of 3 units of whatever time period is in question, this is an example only.). I think (but not sure) what I believe to be the correct amount of elapsed time is usually LESS than the actual amount. Usually. It seems most people don't have as much of a hard time knowing fairly accurately how long ago something happened. I don't think this "problem" is based upon any inherently "non-mainstream" beliefs I have about the phenomenon of time. I DO tend to believe, as some do, that the past, present and future all exist simultaneously, but I did NOT ALWAYS believe this. Yet, I HAVE always had this problem with being way off sometimes in terms of telling somebody, or myself, when a specific event happened in my life. I guess what I'm saying is that this "timelessness phenomenon" , for lack of a better description, is not informed by any pre-existing "eccentric" theory of mine about past, present and future. One thing that has occurred to me is that it may be due to an inability on my part to compartmentalize my conscious and subconscious minds as easily as other people do. For example, I took a hypnotherapy certification course a number of years ago. The students in the class were hypnotized both by the instructor, in group sessions, and by one another, for instructional purposes. During group hypnotic sessions, the instructor toll me that I was the most suggestible, and therefore most easily hypnotized, member of the class. She said I went into the trance state more deeply than anybody else. Usually, at the end of a group hypnosis session, when the instructor told everybody to come out of the trance state, I had difficulty, also. It took me a long time. The instructor suggested the other students all make an effort to work with me, I'm assuming because she thought it would give them a shot of self-confidence in their hypnotic abilities since they would have little trouble hypnotizing me. So, what I'm wondering is: could this time/chronology "issue" I have be perhaps due to the effect that my subconscious is more active during my normal waking state than is the norm? After all, in dreams, in which our subconscious is very active, we often don't experience the kind of chronologically linear type of time we normally experience when we're awake. Time can be a more relative and quirky phenomenon in dreams, jumping from past to present to future, or perhaps just encompassing all these chronological phenomena at the same time. What do you think could be underlying my idiosyncratic perception of time? And does anybody else out there have this? Did I just smoke too much pot when I was younger and alter some part of my brain which has to do with time perception? Honestly, I was never a BIG pot head, but I DID use to have some intense experiences with pot, during which I would actually hallucinate, etc. That's why I never smoked it too much and not at all, anymore. Any help with this??? (Sorry it's such a LONG question, BTW...I get that way with topics such as these) moreResolved Question: Hypnosis to quit smoking, good or bad?
Today I have an appointment to for hypnosis to help me quit smoking, was wondering if anyone heard or have done this themselves and if it does help or if I'll be wasting money. I already cut back quite a bit on smoking, went the whole weekend without a smoke. Yesterday I ended up buying a pack because I got some unpleasant news and got really stressed out because of it. I honestly want to quit. My father passed away back in December and he always wanted me to quit smoking, so I'm doing this for him. Does the hypnosis really work? moreResolved Question: Anyone have this fear?
I dont have a fear of spiders or something normal like that. I fear the idea of non-existence, like, basically death. But not how I will die or what happens to my body... My fear is strictly based on the the unknowing. After we die, everything we know to be true, everything we have experienced, everyone we have known, our lives will end. It's not a movie where you turn it off and put another one on. You only get ONE! And after that, it's over. Okay, so thats the fear. My background > I'm actually really religious. I am Christian and dont doubt that there is heaven afterlife. I lack faith because my brain thinks one way and my heart thinks another way. I've had this fear since I was 10 years old - I hate it. I think it also deals with my inability to control the inevitable. I've seen a psychologist about it before and they only give advice on how to deal with fear and it helps temporarily, but I think I need to get to the root of it. The only times, in my life, that I have felt ok with these thoughts is when I smoke weed. Obviously, I dont want to do that. I have a LOT going for me at age 28. I dont want to be a pot-smoker (with or without license, it makes me lazy) but these thoughts overwhelm me on a daily basis (I used to only get this panic 1-3 times a month)... has anyone ever tried hypnosis? Any other thoughts on this besides the exercises the psychologist gives me (take a deep breath, ask yourself, is this an emergency? Will my life end right now by thinking about it?) Thanks for reading. I know I sound a little crazy but that's what fears do to people.I dont smoke weed now! And I dont let this fear "take over" me. I have a great career, am in a healthy relationship, etc. This one, annoying, panic-driving fear overwhelms me for about a 30 seconds 2-3 times a day. moreVoting Question: what can self hypnosis do for me?
I've heard all sorts of incredible claims and such as to what self hypnosis (the ones on the audio cds that you listen to alone) can do. I've heard that things including elimination of phobias, quit smoking, improve memory, heighten awareness, increase learning capacity, more brain power, are all easily achievable. What I'm wondering is how much of this is true and how much of this is false or can't be proven with evidence? can hypnosis really cure my phobia of spiders or improve my memory? What is it that self hypnosis can actually do for me? Anything interesting that it can do for me that I haven't yet heard of? Thanks in advanced. Also, I heard that hypnosis can reduce pain or cure minor ailments such as warts. Is any of that possible too? moreResolved Question: how can i quit smoking?

Any stories of how you managed to quit would be great. Thanks. Not Very helpful Xx mollee xX - any sensible answers would be preferable. moreResolved Question: Suicidal ideation and past lives karma?
Hiya! Have been struggling with suicidal thoughts for a very long time... and it might be related to past lives, although I do acknowledge the fact that I might not have existed before. Basically, I might have experienced a bit too much with White Light visualisations (never took drugs, not even smoked... nor did I drink alcohol except on social occasions). During that time, I experienced some flashbacks, and there was pictures of one past life where I got burned as either a normal person or as a high priestess in ancient Ireland. Later on, during a dream hypnosis, I had flashbacks from the French Revolution... husband was imprisoned but I wanted him to be released and be arrested instead of me (and eventually be killed) as I thought it'd be better for the kids if they had him back and not me. A spiritual counsellor (sthg like a clairvoyant... paid attention as not to tell her anything but she was right about a lot of things she could never have had any influence on beforehand or known) told me that I was continuing my martyrdom in this life still, and it has made sense from early on. Questions are: 1. If Wikipedia is right, it can't be karma-related as karma is only related to words, thoughts, actions and actions you asked others to do... and not what has been done to you? What do you think? 2. Is there any use for me in traditional psychotherapy to get rid of those suicidal thoughts and my longing for death (because I'm used to it)? 3. What are occidental ways (don't really be involved in wizardry, voodoo or shamanic rituals involving pigs' heads and so on) to cancel that karma? Already been to a shaman but she didn't get to the suicidal thoughts... just noticed I was quite lost LOL. Thank you so very very veeeeeeeery much for all serious answers! And please not too much Christian content or talk about God or Jesus... I believe in them but can't do anything with that sort of advice. Have a great day and Take care...Thanks a lot for all the answers already. Just an explanation... have never really tried to take my own life... am also in therapy and have been so for the last 13 years... I just appear to many to be therapy-resistant... no real improvement in my longing or death. Self-esteem still really low although I have been to very good professionals, apparently. So was just a question as I thought that improvements might be blocked out because of karma... Thanks so much for any further input! moreVoting Question: How can i stop smoking? I have been married to my wife for 5 years. When we were dating, sex was great. After marriage, it went downhill. We have sex about 1 time a week, and even then it seems like it is just to shut me up. I am attractive, and do try to be a sincere lover. Not the wham-bam thing. The problem is, my wife is smoking hot, and I am horny most of the time. An affair is out of the question. I just want my wife to feel about me the way I feel about her. I go down on her all of the time, but she rarely returns the favor. When we do have sex, she never initiates, and doesn't seem that into it. I try to talk to her about it, but she gets pissed, and says sex is all i ever think about. We do have 4 kids, and both work full-time. Her schedule is one of the main reasons we are rarely in bed together. I know our life is hectic, and that is one of the issues, but I do help out with chores, kids ect. Even a "quickie" now and them would be nice, but never happens. How can I get her libido turned on short of hypnosis? moreResolved Question: My gf has stress problems and its interfering with our relationship?

I heard this kind of thing twice or thrice at diffferent places. On tv I once saw a woman giving tips to an overweight guy how to transform his thoughts that he is overweight Hey, do you want to lose weight easily by doing nothing or get motivated to lose weight easily without even giving up half-way? The key and answer to successfully do it is in Your Subconscious Mind. The subconscious actually stores a multitude of memory patterns which will feed information to the conscious mind when activated. Data is never erased unless the subconscious mind gives that command. For example, when you walk or drive to your destination, you do it automatically without being aware of it - that is your subconscious mind doing the whole process without your conscious mind. The subconscious brain is very good at its job and works 24 hours a day on keeping us alive. The subconscious controls and regulates involuntary functions of the body such as breathing, circulation, Metabolism, Digestion, hormone balance, etc. So you may wonder.. how do you tweak or make your subconscious mind to lose weight easily? The answer is... Hypnosis! Hypnosis is done by bypassing your conscious mind to your subconscious mind giving instructions and storing them successfully. That is why people can quit smoking, feel extremely motivated, attain success easily, study easily and so on Successfully just after 1 session of hypnosis! Even faith-healing uses Hypnosis! My friend tried hypnosis to lose weight. Initially, her weight was 198lbs and she lost 18.3lbs within 3-weeks! All by natural metabolism! And she never even change her diet but ate as normal! The best thing about losing weight via metabolism is... it burns fat everywhere in your body equally! This makes your body look perfect in shape! You will thank me because I can guarantee you Hypnosis Works! You can just let your natural metabolism be high and Lose Fat Doing NOTHING effectively and immediately or be motivated to stop binge eating and exercise regularly without pain or laziness (copy pasted) moreResolved Question: Can hypnosis make you forget things?
