Open Question: Can hypnosis trigger physical changes?

I was watching self hypnosis site(mp3) and Iv seen hypnosis like :grown taller, improve eyesight, improve penis size, change eye color, breast enlargement, breast reduction. I believe that hypnosis like:more self confidence or addiction help work, but i am skeptical about those physical enhancement hypnoses like eyesight improvement. So can eyesight hypnosis really help my eyesight? Note:this isnt question about if i can be hypnotized or not beceuse i am using self hypnosis mp3 already and i know i can be hypnotized. more

Open Question: (Hypnosis)Procrastination - Do I combat with Confidence or Motivation?

Hi All Basically if someone suffers from laziness/procastination, and they know some of that is also due to apprehension of the unseen future (as in they have tasks to do but are anxious about doing them for whatever reason), should they use tools that are there to build confidence or motivation? I have put hypnosis into the title, as I know this can be used as well as other mental tools and its not the tool im questioning but rather the subject of the tool itself Thanks more

Voting Question: Strange state keeping for ages, any advice?

Hi! I'm in my late teens and for the last 4-5 years I fall into a very strange state. Basically, it's all about feeling slow mentally, I mean I daydream very often and am in 'my own little world', very often because of pure boredom or lineliness. It's just like the brain does not receive the stimuli on time, or does but my actions are slowed down, my body feels lazy and its takes some extra few seconds to do a task or react. There's a lot of stillness and sleepiness inside my head. I just switch off. It happens both with physical activities and anything verbal, e.g. when somebody offends me I fall out of that 'hypnosis', but can't react on time, not to mention thinking of some accurate reply which would cause them to shut up and p*ss off. or when playing some games, such as basketball, i find myself unable to react quick enough. What's more, due to that 'hypnosis', everything around seems to be unreal. Especially people. Sometimes I ask myself 'who am i?' and then recall the name, surname and all the other stuff. It affects everyting, starting from self-confidence to interpersonal relationships. There's another fact that may be worth mentioning: I listen to a lot of music and the music keeps playin in my head even if I dont want it to and the MP3 is switched off. The diet is tried to be kept relatively well, but the sleeping pattern is often messed up. Yet even if I sleep plenty of hours, it's often still the same - i.e. the 'sleeping' state remains. What might be the cause? What can stimulate me to join the outside world more and feel alive? (Erm, no god-talk, please!)Bulletin: I really do doubt I will ever need a god-talk, don't you worry about it, maybe that sort of things would be useful for you for not answering a question if you've got nothing interesting to say. more

Resolved Question: My Boyfriend Caught Me Red-Handed in Bed with Another Man...?

Right...my b/f caught me in bed with another man just as we were having sex. He went mad and said that he's dumping me. I can't afford to be dumped as that would badly damage my self-confidence, plus I kind-a still like my b/f except that I like having sex with strangers. Anyway.....I walked up to my b/f in the bedroom just as he was packing his stuff and I begged him on my knees that he actually gives me a chance to explain. He gave me two minutes to speak and as soon as he sat down on the bed to listen to me.....I hypnotised him (I am a professional hypnotherapist; been practicing hypnosis for the past 8 years). Once I induced hypnosis in him, I told him to TOTALLY forget about what has just happened. I then undressed him and put him in bed and I lied down next to him. And at that moment I said "when you wake up, you will think that you've just got up after going to sleep last night....5-4-3-2-1". And then he "got up" and looked at the clock and said "oh, sorry darling - I'm late for work!" and so he started getting dressed in a hurry. And before leaving the house, he planted a big kiss on my cheek and he said "see you at night, darling!". And that made me feel so great! But since the incident (it happened two days ago), I've been living with a sense of guilt. When I qualified as a certified hypnotherapist, I took an oath at the Association of American Psychiatrists that I will NEVER use hypnotherapy for personal gain. But I also think to myself, if I didn't do what I did, then I would be single again. And I don't want to be single. I want to live with my b/f. Is there any way I can get rid of this guilt? (and don't suggest that I should be honest with my b/f, cos I'm never gonna tell him what's happened....I HAVE to KEEP HIM !!!). more

Resolved Question: This incident has really got me down....Is this what the world has come to? Social Situation help please.?

Right aplogies if this sounds long-winded and no big deal, but for some reason this situation has really got me down. And any advice would help. thanks in advance. I went out on Friday night to a local nightclub. As usual, I was socialising, etc. Two girls walked by me in the smoking area (I saw a mark on one of the girls lower neck, which I thought was lipstick or split drink) and I asked her 'What is that?', at the time thinking she wasnt aware of it. She quickly informed me that it was in fact a scar from a heart operation she had. I quickly apologised, and she asked me for a cigarette to make up for it, which I gave her immediately. Later back in the smoking area, the same two girls. The girl with the scar asked me for a light; (I was tipsy a little bit, but I know what I said). 'I remember you' I said and apolgised again for the previous misunderstanding. She then pointed out a bracelet on my wrist. Its a 'Krishna Peace' bracelt- and i Proceeded to tell her thats why I was so apologetic and that one of my main philosophies is not causing people/living things hurt. Then for some reason she went and sat on a stair close by (still in the smoking area of the club) and told her friend that I was making fun of her scar and started sobbing. Her Friend then launched into a an absolute verbal tirade (abuse, swears, threats) against me; I was literally gobsmacked. She told me to get out of her sight, etc. I DIDNT DEFEND MYSELF AT ALL or SAY a word back, apart from apologising to her sobbing friend ;-( I would usually have launched into defending myself and literally started giving verbal abuse back but I didn't. God knows if it was cause I'd been drinking, thus couldn't be bothered with the hassle or the fact I am just not agressive, but usually I am assertive enough to say the right thing. Perhaps I was overly passive because of the alcohol. She then got the sobbing girls BF, who wanted me to apologise unreservedly to his GF, which I'd already done. The verbal attacking girl by the way, was physically obese and unattractive (im not just saying that, she genuinely was) What would have been the best way to deal with this situation (e.g. aggressive person)? Any good Psychological-based tactics (anyone with a good pyschological background, please advise). Is it true, that people seem to attack people who appear too nice? I mean if I hadn't been apologetic or given the girl a cigarette and a light after, i'm sure that she would neither have been looking to cause trouble nor would her friend have launched such a tirade for no reason? In the space of a couple days, it seems to have affected my confidence (silly as it sounds, I have re-run that incident a few times over in my head and wat I should have done). Any psychological tactics to help ease the anger, etc from this incident? By the way In this situation I was alone, though I went to the club with my brother and it is pretty much . This Occurence has really got me down....and I'm rather angry to, if i'm honest. I can't believe I let someone treat me so badly, for no reason. Oh yeah any psychologocal tactics to prevent such relatively minor incidents getting to me? Appreciate advice from someone who knows pyschological/NLP?Hypnosis techniques which have worked. God bless.x more

Resolved Question: Listening to hypnosis CD's?

I was listening to a Paul McKenna hypnosis CD on improving self confidence, and apparently I wasn't supposed to focus on what he was saying, but on counting backwards from 300. Why don't I have the skills it seems like everybody else was born with I can't even have a normal conversation with people let alone a girl I not even my dad or my mo or sister. I started to get homeschooled after the 7th grade and spent most time in the house after we moved in with my grandmother now I'm 18 don't have any friends and no social skills or conversation skills can these things be learned? Resolved Question: Is it normal to feel like this?!?

Like to be insecure even though you're in a wonderful relationship and your partner is so amazing, kind and sweet. I have these horrible insecurities that I wish I could flush down the toilet. I'm so afraid that some other female would come along and try to steal him away! I get so worried that sometimes I have second thoughts about going to places like the mall or bars where there would be tons of sexy women around. The thing is he has never done anything that justifies why I would feel the way that I do. In fact, he reassures me constantly that I'm the only one for him, now and forever. I have tried counselling, hypnosis, self-confidence courses, etc but they worked only for a while and the insecurities always come back. Please help! p/s: I'm not a teenager. more

Resolved Question: Have any of you gone through a drastic personality change?

There is so many ways I want to change but I don't know how. I was considering therapy to help with my confidence and anxiety issues. I was also thinking about hypnosis. I want some guidance from someone who has transformed into an almost different person. I can be paranoid, especially about peoples' motives. I'm mad at myself that I have let my shyness form the person that I am and now I think it is too late for me to change. more

Resolved Question: Does hypnosis really work?

Ok so I'm supposed to be having suggestive hypnosis in 4 days time to help with my self-confidence and anxiety problems. I'm 16 and I need to kno if this works because I am desperate for some kind of quick fix because these problems have been bugging me for years and I haven't got the first clue on where else to start. The woman in seeing for this has been performing craniosacrial therapy on me but I'm pretty skeptical of it and of anything that's made me worse so I'm hoping the hypnosis helps. Some facts and personal experiences would come in handy. Cheers!! more

Voting Question: Do I have a personality disorder?

I am real ugly kid. I use to be confident guy, and thought people liked me, but they never really did. They would talk about me all the time. I'm 18 and I've never touched a girl or talked to one for that matter. I have heard girls talking about how ugly or disgusting I look. I have no friends. I thought I did, but I was nothing more than a lapdog who was used for personal entertainment in class, acting stupid for there laughter. I was actually real talkative until 8 months ago, when I found out people really don't like me. Like I said I was talkative, confident etc. I heard some nasty comments about me. I am real physically ugly and I have a small penis. This is so unbelievably hard for me to go on with life. I have never been so miserable in my life, I mean I was actually never a happy person, but right now I feel like shit. The absolutely only time (I'm being serious, the only time) where I'm happy is when I daydream or fantasize about my ideal life, where I am that good looking funny guy with the gorgeous woman all over him. These fantasies and day dreams are the only things that kept me happy. I use to believe that I could actually change the way I look by hypnosis. I did a lot of research and believed that with hypnosis I could alter my facial structure, height, penis size, etc. I know it sounds absolutely ridiculous, but I believed this. This is what kept me going through 9-12 grade without killing my self. Well I finally woke up, I'm still the same ugly ass kid as I was 4 years ago and It's not going to change. I am so ashamed that I believed such an insane thing like this, but I was so depressed about the way I looked. I am actually a very scientific guy that uses a lot of logic, a man who was a pessimist about everything. I always daydreamed about my Ideal self being the center of attention always. Right when an event happened, I always thought about my Ideal me being there. I am talking about when ever I am in a social event, or anywhere where there are humans. I just can't believe I'm normal. I know I'm just a teenager, but I know no one is like me. Besides the hypnosis thing I am very much a "reality" guy, unlike most ugly guys who say "it's call about confidence" or "looks don't matter bro", I know really, Looks are what's important, and I am not criticizing that. It makes total sense to me. It gets to me because I am very much a guy with a strong lust for women and love, but in reality I'm not going to get either. more

Resolved Question: how else can i loose weight?

i am male, 17 years old, 6ft, 14 stone and naturally big built. I went to the doctor and she would not give me anything to loose weight even though im classed as overweight, there are also obvious signs, i have very bad stretch marks at the top of my thighs (front and back), around my waist (sides), on the inside of my biceps and under my arms around the armpits. For the last year iv tried many different methods, i tried weight loss pills, cycling every day 2 miles, jogging, even hypnosis, nothing works, iv been trying to turn the fat into muscle so iv done a lot of weight training just on my arms, it easy for me to build muscle because as i said im naturally big built but theres still a lot of fat. Tell me please, how can i loose this fat and get rid of these stretch marks, i was just starting to get confident then the stretch marks came and its shattered my confidence. more

Resolved Question: Anyone using Quantum Confidence?

I have been using Quantum Mind Power for six months and have noticed improvements in motivation and learning. I also like the way it makes me feel. Once when listening to Emotive Brainwave Hypnosis i heard a womans voice saying something like it's time to go back you are creative. I have also been close to enlightement listening to it. I have had some very interesting experiences with QMP but my anxiety still remains. I have started using the QC sample. Anyone else? If so what kind of results have you noticed? Also, has anyone used NeurOptimal Neurofeedback? I have heard and read that it's really good. I wonder if it is better than QMP and QC. more

Resolved Question: Why do I have a problem with "time"?

I've had this most of my life.Is this what psychologists call "timelessness thinking"? (I think there is such a term or something similar to it). It boils down to this: ask me when a certain event in the past happened and I would have a hard time telling you when. If it was five months ago, I might say 3 months ago. If it was 10 years ago, I might say 7 (BTW, it's not always a difference of 3 units of whatever time period is in question, this is an example only.). I think (but not sure) what I believe to be the correct amount of elapsed time is usually LESS than the actual amount. Usually. It seems most people don't have as much of a hard time knowing fairly accurately how long ago something happened. I don't think this "problem" is based upon any inherently "non-mainstream" beliefs I have about the phenomenon of time. I DO tend to believe, as some do, that the past, present and future all exist simultaneously, but I did NOT ALWAYS believe this. Yet, I HAVE always had this problem with being way off sometimes in terms of telling somebody, or myself, when a specific event happened in my life. I guess what I'm saying is that this "timelessness phenomenon" , for lack of a better description, is not informed by any pre-existing "eccentric" theory of mine about past, present and future. One thing that has occurred to me is that it may be due to an inability on my part to compartmentalize my conscious and subconscious minds as easily as other people do. For example, I took a hypnotherapy certification course a number of years ago. The students in the class were hypnotized both by the instructor, in group sessions, and by one another, for instructional purposes. During group hypnotic sessions, the instructor toll me that I was the most suggestible, and therefore most easily hypnotized, member of the class. She said I went into the trance state more deeply than anybody else. Usually, at the end of a group hypnosis session, when the instructor told everybody to come out of the trance state, I had difficulty, also. It took me a long time. The instructor suggested the other students all make an effort to work with me, I'm assuming because she thought it would give them a shot of self-confidence in their hypnotic abilities since they would have little trouble hypnotizing me. So, what I'm wondering is: could this time/chronology "issue" I have be perhaps due to the effect that my subconscious is more active during my normal waking state than is the norm? After all, in dreams, in which our subconscious is very active, we often don't experience the kind of chronologically linear type of time we normally experience when we're awake. Time can be a more relative and quirky phenomenon in dreams, jumping from past to present to future, or perhaps just encompassing all these chronological phenomena at the same time. What do you think could be underlying my idiosyncratic perception of time? And does anybody else out there have this? Did I just smoke too much pot when I was younger and alter some part of my brain which has to do with time perception? Honestly, I was never a BIG pot head, but I DID use to have some intense experiences with pot, during which I would actually hallucinate, etc. That's why I never smoked it too much and not at all, anymore. Any help with this??? (Sorry it's such a LONG question, BTW...I get that way with topics such as these) more

Resolved Question: Audio Hypnosis - Any Indepth Thoughts?

Anyone have any views on the subject? Anyone tried it? Did it have a good effect? I think it's an intersting concept, one that i think can have the potential to work to good effect. Usually you come across Hypnosis sound files i.e MP3 that offer help with Anxiety, Depression, Confidence etc etc, but i recently came across something called BMV Quantum Subliminal which has a huge collection of audio files offering things as wierd as subliminal sky diving skills, driving skills, heartburn relief, maths mastery, accounting, learn italian, just to name a few! The list is quite endless, they also have the usual cliche audios. They offer them in high frequency sounds and ocean soundscapes. I'm really quite interested but the fact they offer some crazy things makes it seems like they taking you for a complete and utter fool and in reality we have no idea of what we are listeng to? more

When there is an accusation against me, I blush. When I think of blushing, I blush. I try to tell myself that it doesn't matter, but it is holding me back. I don't feel confident, at all. I went onto loads of websites, and they all suggested this hypnosis thing that you can download, but you have to pay to download it. Is their anything that I can do to stop blushing? Also, I don't want to go to the doctor. I don't live near one, and I would be too embarrassed to ask my parents or my sister. Is their anything that I can do, but you don't have to pay for it? Voting Question: How Can I Stop Blushing?

ok, i'm fucking tired of my face lighting up like a Christmas tree every time i find myself in an awkward social situation. I know that when you blush, your blood vessels open up and the blood floods on the inner portion of your face, well for example today my friend Daniel just kept asking random people if i looked like a guy that watches too much porn (and btw i don't), and i didn't know how to react, i found myself in an awkward situation and the blood vessels cracked open and i blushed. On top of the fact that i am very self-concious of myself and one of the partners in my group pointed out "awww, he's blushing" and then the blood vessels practically ripped in half and i was as red as a flame. It's bad enough that I have self-confidence issues and have been medically diagnosed with mild depression. I'M SICK OF IT! I WANT TO JUST LIVE A NORMAL LIFE WITHOUT THIS CURSE! I WANT TO KNOW HOW TO STOP! HELP ME! I've heard that "stop blushing hypnosis" works great, but i'm tight on money and can't afford it. So if there are sites that have those sort of hypnosis mp3's for free, i'd love that. And also maybe just some tips on how i can stop would be amazing. thanks in advance. more

Resolved Question: Hypnosis, right or wrong for a Christian?

After reading about it, I feel like trying hypnosis (probably self-hypnosis) to help me get more confident in teaching. Lack of confidence makes teaching a chore for me but my education only prepares me for that type of work. I've found conflicting advice on Christian sites about hypnosis. I've read it's a neutral means which can be used for evil aims by shamans or for good by Western hypnotherapists. But elsewhere I read that it's always dangerous, that even a light trance can suddenly lead into a deeper one and make you levitate, etc.. I keep hesitating. I nearly ordered a CD then noticed that one American hypnotherapist which appealed to me also sells "Tibetan Star Download" which is definitely occult. PS Though I'm confused about many things, I do believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, that good and evil (and demons) exist, so no use answering that there's no right or wrong! I'd like to hear from Christians who have actually tried (self-)hypnosis and have benefited from it.I really would like to hear from a Christian who has tried hypnosis. Thanks a lot! more

Resolved Question: Meditation is inner peace?

So I have done meditation a few times and self hypnosis mostly to build my confidence. I should note here that I have never been into spiritual or New Age stuff. I am not sure which one caused it but at somepoint I lost all thoughts. Some may call this inner peace. I feel anything but inner peace, I feel partly dead because of those random inner thoughts have been silenced. I often have no thoughts through out the day unless I get thinking about something. I feel like part of me has gone and I feel down about this. I am glad I don't feel like a Zen monk who is free from all desires and emotion. I still remember my past memories, think about the future, feel emotion, worry, laughter, lust, upset, anxiety etc because constant happiness 24/7 isn't living. I think being too negative is bad as well as being too positive there is a fine line there. It's normal for us to experience all types of feelings whether good or bad. So will my mind be forever blank and absent of random "inner talk" thoughts? I have completely stopped doing any more meditation/self hypnosis etc so will I return the way I was in the months, years to come. Please reply because I don't know who else I can talk about this. Okay so I have done self-hypnosis for a while around a year actually. By looking in the mirror using affirmations to increase my confidence etc. I thought it was safe. I have also felt Kundalini a few times through listening to emotional music with my eyes closed (I didn't know energy like that existed) The energy I felt with Kundalini was only temporary though and has long gone.. However now it seems I am absent from concious thought which scares me. I read meditation can result in "ego death" and that almost made me die inside. I guess that means total numbness though like no soul perhaps I don't have that. I stil have feelings luckily, but I worry my concious thoughts are gone for good. Will they ever come back? Please tell me this isn't permanent. Will it take years to get my concious thoughts back? It's like I have to actively think about any thought now where as before it was automatic. I feel normal otherwise though, I still find things funny, I still get worried and nervous, I still get butterflies when I see a gorgeous woman I fancy, I still enjoy sexual pleasure. Good signs but I fear my concious thoughts won't come back. I no longer do any self-hypnosis now. I just write affirmations instead. I won't be doing any mediation again. Any advice would be good. Thank You more

Resolved Question: Can somebody help me; non-full-time courses?

Hi, I have a website diploma but haven't been able to find work (Recession, lack of experience, personality problems). Right now my plan is to work 40 hours in fast-food, save up money, take antidepressants, get therapist, and go back to school next year. However I don't have anything to do between work. I would like to take a confidence-building course intown but there don't seem to be any. Should I take a second job and save all money for next year, or try to take some sort of course to improve myself/for fun/another way to make money in spare time? These are some of the ones I was looking at: Local Creative Writing, 25 hours, $174 Hynposis study habits, 90 minutes, $63 Hynpnosis Interviews, 90 minutes, $31 Hypnosis public speaking, 90 minutes, $31 Hypnosis releasing stress, 2 hours, $42 Online Technical Writing, 132 hours, $2010 - $2455 (This one is a certificate) There's also some continuing education and nighschool at the College but I haven't looked at those yet. more

Resolved Question: Help my emotional/mental problems?

Hello, recently I have become extremely depressed and hopeless. I am afraid to do anything anymore for fear of messing up. Even when I drive now I get really nervous at stop lights for a fear of messing up. I mumble and am very afraid to talk to people for fear of criticism, I am afraid to even walk down a school hallway. I call myself stupid all the time for making simple mistakes. People have called me retarded and stupid many times and it has affected me to the point to where I cry. I walked into a biology classroom last year and a kid flat out said that I looked like a retard. I fear that my I.Q. has lowered from being emotionally damaged by other people's criticism. I am called stupid and retarded all the time and it really hurts me and now I actually believe I am stupid. I am afraid this will affect everything I do for the rest of my life. I don't want to be stupid or afraid to succeed. Please somebody give me some help. I read online that these experiences get absorbed in your mind and lowers intelligence, but can be fixed with hypnosis sessions. How do I get my confidence, intelligence, self-esteem, and gain immunity to others criticisms? I feel hopeless. more

Resolved Question: Eradicating Hypocrisy??????

How do you choose between two major belief systems when you have been accustomed to both knowingly or subliminally and want to eradicate the unwanted, corrupt and hypocritical beliefs? How much of a part does confidence play in the eradication of hypocritical beliefs. Although hypocrisy is abundant in society this is not morally acceptable for me. Is it possible to remove certain beliefs or insinuating thoughts via hypnosis, short term psychiatric therapy or even neuro linguistic programming. more

Voting Question: I Am A Shy Guy, How Do I Meet A Girl Who Will Like Me For Who I Am?!? Girls Do Not Like Me?!?

I am 15, and I am shy. I really can not most of the time talk to a girl. When I try to talk to a girl I like I get all nervous. Also when I try to meet a girl it seems they already have a boyfriend. Many girls do not think of me as a good candidate as a boyfriend. I do not even know why I bother. I am not all that confident, but that is because I am shy and because girls always reject me. I am just tired of being alone. If I could plan out a way to meet a girl I would carry it out. Girls just do not like me for who I am. I am saddened by the revelation that I can not get a girlfriend like everyone else in the world, I am also angered by it. I can not do anything about it. I just want my personality to change, so why don't I just use psychotherapy and hypnosis to change myself. But one problem, I can't apparently it's impossible. I do not have confidence in my skills as a guy to get a girlfriend. I know this is a bad thing, but I try yet I also fail. I am not sure what to do. I want to meet a girl who is nice but likes me for who I am. I am like a shadow, because shadow are not as good as actual people, shadows have no destiny to look forward to. I have tried pity but that does not work either, I am starting to think I am a loser. So I Am A Shy Guy, How Do I Meet A Girl Who Will Like Me For Who I Am?!? Girls Do Not Like Me?!? more

Voting Question: What is Hypnosis Used For?

I'm going to college starting this month, and I aspire to become a psychologist. There is this class I am interested in taking that teaches people how to use hypnosis. My question is, besides using hypnosis for reducing stress/anxiety, stop smoking, lose weight, boost self-confidence, etc. What else is it used for? Can it be used to bring back old memories, or even erase unpleasant ones? Thank you. more

Resolved Question: I am depressed and I have a hypnosis tape?

It has a warning label on it "18 years and older do not use unless prescribed" I wanted to watch it, but I couldn't bring myself to watch it. I think I have a fear of hypnotic tapes, because honestly, it was scary being by myself alone in the middle of the living room floor, turning on the VCR and trying to watch it. My VCR doesnt work anyways, so I couldn't watch it. I'm not at the suicidal point. I have a good loving family, awesome friends, and I'm doing pretty good on my grades. I am even pretty, so it isn't a self-confidence thing. I have this guy who really likes me, and I feel happy around him, but I just can never feel the "real happy" like when I was little.. Oh how I miss my childhood. I need help. I've been this way for a year, now getting better, but I'm ready to break free. Help? more
