Recently I won an Unl Inzektor Hornet from a SE Order of Chaos, and I was disappointed as it was the only holo, and intitially, I thought it was a terrible holo. Later I found its worth to be $30. I searched some other cards from this set and Galactic Overlord, and prices are going crazy like $50+, and especially cards like Zenmaines at $100+. When did all this happen, or have I not been paying attention to Yugioh for the past years? Is Konami doing this intentionally? more

Resolved Question: No bar codes on legal yu-gi-oh god cards?

Two questions for your lovely expertise :) I was looking into buying the legal god cards to add to me deck, but have a bit of confusion. Every card that I've seen on image searching and amazon, don't have a bar code on the bottom left of the card. I know that the code shows a card is real, and that also the code is used to determine who goes first in the duel. How does that work? Do these cards really not have bar codes? My second question also, is there a reason why legal slifer the sky dragon cards are practically non existent? I see obelisk and ra available all over the Internet, but have yet to see a legal slifer, and I would really want one. Thanks guys :D more

Resolved Question: Yu-Gi-Oh! Chain Problem?

My friends and myself understand how chains work and whatnot, but recently, they've started to chain to their own cards without giving their opponent (me) time to respond with a chain link of my own. For example: Friend flips Trap Stun Friend immediately chains MST to Trap Stun After that he says I can't negate Trap Stun, because MST is chained to it, so he says I can only negate MST. Is this legal or do you have to give your opponent time to respond to the chain? And could you explain why I can't chain onto MST but target the Trap Stun instead :/ more

I recently started playing online and got addicted, but then for some mystical reason I got banned, and now I need some real life cards, but I don't have any money, and my parents won't waste money on a child's game, even though everyone in my high school plays it. I'd really appreciate your time and help, thank you.Well, it's an IP Ban, so I can't make a new account, and yes, I do hate it. I mean, Yu-Gi-Oh takes more strategy and brain then Poker, and yet somehow Poker is not a "child's" game.Nah, I'm not stupid nor trolling. Just in desperate need of cards. and yeah, I already tried that but no one ever even read my appeal I'm guessing. I probably got banned because of my unique style of playing, and someone just got mad that they lost to something like that and don't know how, and reported me or something. And chess is way more complicated than Yugioh, it's like one of my top 3 favorite games. And yeah, but the loops and metas are only used by unoriginal duelists. I myself stick with old style Yugioh and don't use Synchros, XYZs, or Metas. I don't use common cards either. And I rarely ever use Fusions, but I don't mind those since those were from Old Yugioh. I make up all my decks with mixtures of cards and I have 2 completely normal monster decks that are just beast. As a kid I was obsessed with the game, and even after I stopped watching it I still played it competitively until all my friends stopped. I stopped around the time GX came out. Now I just ordered Reverse Arcadia, yugioh world championships 2010, after remembering how awesome Nightmare Troubadour was and needing a new DS game. For a person who used to be an expert but hasn't played in years, and hearing about synchro monsters, etc, for the first time, what rule changes and new game breaking strategies do I have to know about? Any other tips would be nice as well. I'm going to play through the game to get my legs back and then after building a deck there, playing online a bit, and figuring a deck out, I may buy the new cards I need for a real life deck. Resolved Question: Which tcg is cheaper: Magic the Gathering, Yu Gi Oh, or Pokemon?

I just want to know this question as I think for me playing Magic right now, it seems like its really expensive as everyone including myself are only using the rares/ mythic rares to build our decks instead of the uncommons and commons. This is the second time I have asked this question here, and while I did get some really well thought out answers, I still haven't completely gotten my question answered. Perhaps this is due to lack of detail on my part, but regardless I would appreciate more answers and a little more detail. Thank you. http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20120503231940AA2pC0s I understand the basic reasoning for why there is a maximum hand size, but it just seems ridiculous to make a player get rid of cards that they most likely worked hard to get. Like in Magic, if I have greater than 7 cards in my hand chances are I spent a good deal of mana to keep my hand the size it is. Either that or I got a horrible hand and thus cannot play any of my cards, but that isn't my point. My point really is, it shouldn't really matter if I have 2 cards or 10 cards, if I don't have the mana to play these cards it doesn't truly put me at that great of an advantage. I have received an answer to this question from when I posted it previously on this site. I do agree that for a given situation if you have 10 cards in your hand, you are much better off than if you only had 2. But if you only had those 2 cards, chances are you haven't been doing much drawing outside of your draw step, and thus you haven't been expending the extra resources to get the 10 card hand. My real point here is even if someone wanted to put their entire deck into their hand (exaggeration), they had to work hard to do it, so why penalize that hard work? I understand much more why it would matter for a game like Yu-Gi-Oh!, there are no numeric costs needed to play cards so hand size would be more of an issue. However, Yu-Gi-Oh! is very strict, even more so than Magic, about being able to draw a lot of cards, so a maximum hand size really isn't necessary. To refer back to an answer I have received to this part of my question, I get that there are cards in Yu-Gi-Oh! like Slifer, Snipe Hunter, Muka Muka, etc. that work much better when you have a bigger hand. But again, how would you get that big of a hand when they limit or forbid the good draw engine cards (Pot of Greed, Allure of Darkness, Graceful Charity, etc.)? Most of the time you are only drawing on a 1 for 1 basis. Example: You have 5 cards in your hand. You set Jar of Greed, so you are now down to 4. During your opponent's turn you activate Jar of Greed, drawing 1 card from your deck. You now have 5 cards in your hand again, so you haven't gained hand size, you have simply just cycled through your deck. If you do manage to draw on more than a 1 for 1 basis, chances are the setup is more complicated than just using 1 card to draw 1 card. Example: You have Tethys, Goddess of Light on your side of the field, and you draw a fairy-type monster during your draw step. You could potentially draw your whole deck with a setup like this. However, not only is that very unlikely, but Tethys is a 5 star monster so she is harder to summon, making this setup harder to use and easier to take advantage of. My point with this being that it takes more effort/resources/etc. overall to get more cards, and in the end that effort is wiped clean with the maximum hand size rule. I'm really just wondering mostly if someone can explain the root cause of this rule. Are there specific cards that take advantage of not needing to discard cards beyond a certain number? I almost feel this was something that wasn't well thought out on the game creators' part. In any case, I hope to get well thought out answers, as I will be giving best answer to the person who demonstrates logical thinking skills. I have been told before, for the case of Magic, that the reason you have a max hand size is because your hand represents the amount of information/spell capacity that you can hold on to at once, and so with out a "Spellbook" you would lose excess information/spells. This explanation, though logically thought out, doesn't explain an actual game mechanic that is affected by the ruling. I appreciate any information that anyone can provide, but please try to be thorough. more

Resolved Question: When did Yu-Gi-Oh! pass the Bechdel test?

A book, movie, TV show, etc, passes the Bechdel test if it, 1, Has at least two female characters who, 2, have a real conversation with each other that, 3, is not about a male character. Most movies fail this test, but the TV Tropes page for the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime (Duel Monsters) claims that it barely passed. Despite having seen every episode, I can't think of a single scene where two of the female characters talk about something besides boys (usually playing card games). Could somebody point this mysterious footage out to me?Has to be a real conversation (i.e. not banter in a Duel) and it cannot be about a male (including discussions about an Egyptian Pharaoh or a brother with a split personality). Hey all, I've recently started playing Yu-Gi-Oh! again and want to build a good deck. I used to play the game about 5 years ago at least and have a lot of cards from back then (mainly character's decks like yugi's, kaiba's, pegasus' and joey's). I need help building my deck. What I have is ok, but it was thrown together, and I know it could be much better. Any suggestions on what I could add or take out that wouldn't be too expensive? Me & him are seniors in high school. We met thru mutual friends and for the past couple months we've been hanging out & such. He spends all his time playing video games or cards (yu-gi-oh, magic, etc.) But he's very sensitive & has really low self esteem. He's a huge sweetheart too. His family really wanted him to go to prom, so his mom secretly hinted at me asking him. When I did & they found out, they were VERYYYY happy. & also, I've been in & out of an abusive relationship w/ this other guy for the past year. It's physically & verbally abusive. It's so hard for me to leave him b/c of how manipulative he is & I feel everything is my fault. It's just really hard for me to leave him completely. At the moment we are "broken up" but still talking. I'm having mixed feelings for the guy tho, I really really like him....but I'm not 100% attracted to him. Idk, I just need time to think. I TOLD HIM STRAIGHT OUT a week ago that I do like him, but I can't date him right now b/c of my ex & such But last night when he drove me home...we kissed. He was nervous & was kissing me awkwardly for like 5 secs when he stopped & said he didn't know how to kiss xP lol. I kissed him again anyway & said its ok he's good. After that...I really regret kissing him. I think he really likes me, & I'm just afraid of hurting his feelings cuz this is his first everything & he's already 18. Do I stop flirting w/ him? Should I never kiss him again? What do I tell him about wat happened? I can't just stop flirting b/c I do like him & it's natural for me to flirt w/ him....but I don't want to keep leading him on b/c I don't know what I want just yet. more
