Open Question: My Safari browser closes as soon as I launch it?

I am running Windows Vista and love everything Apple so I naturally use the Safari browser and have for along time. But recently, when I open it, the browser automatically closes. It opens for literally about a second (so I can see the tool bar at the yop and a white page) then the browser closes. I have tried updating and reinstalling but nothing changes. I'm thinking that something may be blocking it for some reason, how can I check to see if something IS blocking it? more

I love the X files and have seen them all, want to get them all on dvd and am in the process of doing so through Ebay. I'd like to watch them all in order but there are two episodes I know for sure I wont be watching... One I KNOW is Hellbound with that poor man all strung up and skinned (gave me BAD nightmares for weeks lol) and another I can't seem to find out which it is. Its filmed around some base thing, like a plant with water inside it, and there is a monster in the water. Theres a pic of it on the Imdb page when you search for the X- files. Its white with loads of teeth and all wrinkly horrid skin, in the episode the camera pans through the water then it just appears close up in the camera - freaked me big time :o( Help please so I can avoid it - I can read synopsis of every episode online and have started but still can't seem to find it after a lot of looking. more

Resolved Question: Why is my printer doing this all the time?

I have a Hp Photo smart all in one C4180 printer. I recently purchased some new ink for it (both colour and black). I made sure they were for definate the right cartridges for my printer. When I am printing documents and web pages out, anything in black it prints out great, even in 'fast draft'. Now when it comes to print something in colour it prints out all 'streaky' with white lines through the image and not very clear if it is coloured text. I have done a cartridge alignment and a cartridge clean and both do not solve the problem. How ever, when I do a cartridge clean the sheet that it automatically prints out at the end to show you the results prints about four coloured squares at the bottom which look great. Now when I go to print some clipart in MS Word for example, it goes back to printing all 'streaky' and unclear. If I print it off in 'Best' mode, (usually used for printing photos) it prints off alot better, but still not perfect. When I had the printer brand new and started printing stuff off, even in 'Fast Draft' it would still print off a half decent image. Has anyone else had this problem with their printer or the same printer as me? It is too late to take it back to PC World as my guarantee has ran out or warranty, what ever it's called. Please help. Resolved Question: I would like to connect my laptop to my TV?

My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L350-203 (with Windows Vista Home) to my Panasonic TX-28PS12 Television. I have a VGA to Scart cable, as per instructions from multiple websites. My monitor settings are to duplicate the monitor onto the CRT (Fn F5). I have checked with Microsoft that the drivers are updated. The laptop seems to be doing what it's supposed to, the problem is the telly. All that I'm getting is buzzing, with diagonal white/grey lines on black. No duplicated monitor. It changes frequency of buzzing when I scroll with my mouse and change web pages, but I have no image at all on the telly. I have tried doing an auto tune (which can't be done to an AV channel...only a normal channel, if you have an aerial connected. My Sky box, DVD player, and VCR have all done the whole plug into the Scart and play...it's only the laptop that isn't. Please help...I would like to watch my AVI films on a proper screen. Okay, above isnt really the whole question. I have already asked that question on yahoo answers and i dont really understand if having it on low makes that much difference in safety... anyways, my new real question is: I have Eircom broadband, and it is a Motorola Netopia Router. When I type in a certain number (192.168.1.254) , this website comes up. It has a blue banner over the top of the screen and it says "Eircom broadband" in white writing. Then along the left side of the screen, it has: Home Firewall Wireless Protected Setup Wireless Custom Services Expert Mode Troubleshoot Help, all in blue writing. When I click "Custom Services", "NAT (Games and Other Services)" comes up. It says something about NAT and it has a list of games consoles and games. Okay, I was just wondering, from here, where can I go or what can I do, to make it possible for me to connect to Xbox live wirelessly? Xbox Live 360 is one of the gaming consoles and when I click "Xbox Live 360" into the scroll bar thing, and then click "Define Custom Service", it says someting about "Port Forwarding" ::::::::::::::::::::: Port Forwarding: Range of Ports= Forward a range of WAN ports to an IP address on the LAN Trigger Ports= Forward a range of ports to an IP address on the LAN only after specific outbound traffic I dont know which to select, but then it has a "Next" button. Resolved Question: iMac Internet problem ?

I've started to have this problem where i cannot get onto the Internet on my iMac, for example i use Opera and when i open it up it will say 0% document or 0b of document and will just stay like that with a white background, but it's not just for opera, Internet explorer, safari and all other browsers are the same. If i disconnect from the Internet then re connect it will work fine for about 5 seconds, and after that it will stop working and won't open the page, I'm fairly new to the mac computers i just bought my iMac about 1 month ago, and i would be very grateful if someone could help me out. Voting Question: Why am I missing the Picture?

Sometimes when you visit a webpage, some images are missing and replaced by a blank box with a small red cross on the top corner. A vague description of the image is usually also given. "Alternative Text" or whatever it's called (In spite of my age, I’m not too hot on Computers!). What is the cause of this and is there anything that the page viewer can do to attempt to eradicate it? I have tried right clicking and selecting "Show Picture", to no avail. Also, I have recently visited some sites homepages okay, but when I then try to view any subsidiary pages (like "Contact Us" or "About Us") I just get a plane white screen. Hi guys and girls, when i turn my Acer travelmate 290 on it comes up with the black page with the white writing on it saying that windows didn't close properly and it comes up with the choices of: Safe mode, Safe mode with Networking, Safe mode with command prompt, Last known good configuration and at the bottom Start windows Normally. it then goes onto the part where there is the windows icon and it starts to load but then it stops and the screen goes black and nothing happens. It sometimes goes onto a blue screen with writing saying: Checking file system on C: The type of file system is FAT32 One of your disks needs to be checked for consistency and then it freezes there. Resolved Question: How to record in widescreen with the EzCap for Youtube?

I have a small youtube channel that I'm trying to enhance. I currently have an Ezcap DC60+ and I use the Windows Media Encoder to record the footage(youtube.com/UltimateRime). The problem is it only records in 4:3 and I really want it to record in 16:9 widescreen so it fills the whole youtube page. I tryed using Pinnacle but it wouldn't let me choose NTSC 433 so it was just black and white. PLEASE HELP! Thanks, more

Here is page one of my novel Please writer leave a comment show i carry on with it? I stood back to examine the newly cleaned room. The sent of polish hung heavily in the air and as I took a breath in I could taste it. The fluffy pink rug sat perfectly in the middle of my box sided room, I had spend hours on it when I first got just feeling the texture. My bookshelf hung on the wall at almost 90 degree angle; I always worried of it decreasing another 10 degrees and the shiny books would come falling onto me. My bed was well, full; It held 30 teddy bears at each end. That’s what you get for going on holiday twice a year I thought to myself with a giggle. I picked up my notepad and pen off the wooden desk beside me. In my head I did a mental check list of what I had to do before I was aloud to draw. Homework -check Clean room -check Make bed -check I walked over to my bed don’t bothering to move the countless teddy bears before jumping on to it. Which I immediately regretted when stuffed animals flew in every direction. I smiled as I opened the notepad knowing I could start doing my favourite thing; Drawing. On the first page of the sketch pad was a picture of me next to the bumper cars at the carnival. I had drew it and I thought that someone must have seen my drawing because I went to the bumper cars at the carnival the same night I drew it. I was only four at the time so the drawing looked rather sloppy compared to the newest addition’s. I skipped a few pages until it was only white and began to draw. I never knew what I was going to draw I just went with whatever came to my mind. I lifted the pencil to the paper and began. The floor had light blue tiles but each tile had a different Chinese symbol. Then I moved onto the walls which were white but also had Chinese symbols on it. Once I was done trying to draw the weird symbols I moved onto the sink which was elegant and was a shiny white colour with a mirror handing above it. The bathtub matched the sink This place all matches! It reminds me of somewhere… I brushed away the thought this was my free time I didn’t want to spend it daydreaming so I carried on with the drawing. The bathtub was filled with water but my mind was telling me to colour it in red. I shrugged and grabbed a red pencil of the desk. As I coloured it in figured the ceiling was red and it was just reflecting off the water after that I drew a puddle of red on the floor, Then I draw a woman in the bath all you could see was her face and her hand over the side. As I drew the hand I drew a knife in mid air I guess the woman had just dropped it. Which only brought on more questions Why is everywhere red? Why does she have a knife in the bathtub? A million question rushed through my brain. I wanted to know who the strange woman was. So I began to draw her face. She had a oval face and wet blond hair that clung to her face. I longed to know the colour of her eyes but her eyes were closed and it looked like she was sleeping so I just guessed. Her nose was perfect not to small or to big straight but not long. Her lips were cracked and dry. She looks so familiar… if only I knew the colour of her eyes. I was doing it again; Daydreaming. It finish the picture I added a tattoo to her neck; A heat with a bow on the bow it read Skye. I dropped my pencil but stayed in the same position afraid to move. I didn’t need to see her eye colour to know who this was now; it was my mother. I heard a clatter from the bathroom. I guess it was the knife falling now your being silly I thought to myself it didn’t matter what I said to myself though I was still scared it could actually but her. “M-m-mom? Are you okay?” I said with a shaky voice. No reply. Then tears spilled over moving as fast as trains down my cheeks. As I stepped of the bed my body filled with fear, with each step it grew worse. I placed my hand on the doorknob hesitantly and closed my eyes like it would cause me physical pain if I opened the door but I did it anyway. Your being silly I told myself over and opened my eyes I let out a scream of pain and fear. Just like in my drawing she lay there lifeless and bleeding. I looked at my pencil it was sharp enough so I began to draw. I never knew what I was planning to draw I just drew. The floor was tiled with light blue slabs and the walls were a pure white colour. I next began to draw the sink. It was elegant again it was white so I needed to extra pencils to colour it in. I began to add more detail to the walls drawing shells on them. Then I moved on to the bathtub; It was a shiny white and filled with water…. But something in me told be to colour it red. I shrugged and coloured it in thinking that the ceiling must be red and it was reflecting off the water. I drew a woman in the water with her hand hanging over the edge. My mind also told be to colour the hand in red. As I drew on I became more and more confused. Why was this red everywhere? I thought to myself. I added more to the floor a puddle of red leaking from this strange woman’s wrist. I added a knife to the picture it was in mid air. I guessed the woman had just dropped it. The last thing I added was a tattoo to the woman’s neck it was a heart with the name Skye on it. I dropped the pencil as I realised the woman I had drawn was my mother. It was like it had all been planned; At the same moment as I dropped my pencil I heard a loud thump from the bathroom. I stood there frozen as terror rushed through every part of my body. I carefully slipped off the bed and walked to the bathroom with each step the fear inside me grew worse. By the time I reached the bathroom I thought I was going to die with fear. I placed my shaking hand on the door knob and twisted. What I saw then changed my life forever. My mother led there lifeless and just like in my picture there was a puddle of blood on the floor but in this room the knife had already hit the floor. i read the first few pages in a book at a shop the other day but forgot both the name and the author to it! I remember the front cover was white and it had like an incomplete child-like line drawing of a dog and a longish title of about 5 words... the book was a sort of philosophy on life from a romantic perspective...i think i know its a bit of a brief description but its all i can remember and the beginning was really good. all help is appreciated thank you :) xxxx more

Resolved Question: Why is my Photoshop PDF changing colour when I display as a presentation?

I have created a multi page PDF using photoshop and when I view it as a presentation in full screen the colours change. All the pages of the document have a black background with white text and an image in the center. When I go to the presentation some of the pages fade very quickly from the colours I used to a dull grey. When viewed outside the presentation format the colours are fine. Not all of the pages are doing this, it is only happening on certain pages. Any ideas how I can stop this? more

Resolved Question: How do I transfer a wordpress website (keeping the same host)?

Hi and thanks for any responses I may get. I have two wordpress websites that I have been working on for two different things. I had them both running at a temporary domain and then once I purchased the official domain and changed the domain on the hosting account to that it completely messed my wordpress site up. It would not let me access the admin panel (wouldnt even load the page) and the whole site template messed up.... It simply displayed black text on a white background like a word doc or something. I had to re-install wordpress and start the website again. From this I now know that i cannot just change the domain on the accoun for my other wordpress once I get the official domain. So how can I change the domain on the same hosting account (example - from www.example.helpme.com to www.example.com) without the whole wordpress messing up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Im trying to find relatives in Canada. Im Living in Northern Ireland. Basically I have a letter from my relatives from 1993 i know my great uncle who wrote this letter then died 2 years later. There was a phone number on the letter. I have typed it into white pages canada and the name of his wife came up and the address that was on the letter also came up so im sure its the right person. However the letter seems to suggest his wife was dead before he wrote the letter. So im very confused as to why when i typed in the number her name and address came up. could she still be alive? more
