I added a friend recently on facebook and I can't view their profile and they don't come up on my friends list. Also where they have commented on other peoples' posts I can't see their comments. Everyone else who is friends with this person does not have a problem.
When I go onto their profile through an e-mail or find them tagged in someone else's status a page loads with a white box which just says The page you requested was not found. You may have clicked an expired link or mistyped the address. Some web addresses are case sensitive.
I have also had a pink box loaded with Sorry, this profile is currently unavailable.
Maybe they have blocked me without actually removing from friends? Is that possible, or how do I find out if they have removed me from friends? I have been removed as a facebook friend before though by somebody else and I can still se their profile.

Getting a bit tired of trying to trawl through pages of other people's swollen lymph node probs, ends up sending me on a depressive low (the big 'C' word...)!
Basically, about 2 weeks ago I noticed my left submental(?) gland (on my chin, on bottom of centre jaw) was swollen, hard & painful. About half a week later my submandibular(?) also swelled up & became painful. I went to my GP, she checked my throat & ears etc, said my tonsils looked slightly inflamed so said it could be tonsilitis, prescribed penicillin incase the symptoms got worse. Had a blood test to check white blood cell count/whether I had something viral or bacterial. No tonsilitis symptoms, except another gland further down my neck (possibly cervical?) came up, so wasn't sure if penicillin was the right cure. Went back to doctor's, saw a nurse who said she had no idea what was going on, & that my blood test came back fine. She recommended me see an emergency dentist to rule out my teeth, & said to start taking the penicillin. Dentist said my teeth are fine, to take the penicillin & see if it clears up. I have 2 days left (out of 7) & so far nothing has improved. In fact, it seems a couple of cervical glands on the right side of my neck/under ear have come up since! I have had viruses, tonsilitis & glandular fever in the past (the latter two both within the last couple of years), so I know what to look out for there. The strange thing is I seem generally 'fine'. I get occasional headaches/tiredness/loss of appetite/feverish symptoms, more pain/heat in glands than other times, but feel relatively okay! I don't want to fall into the trap of getting 'shrugged off' at the doctors again, have been reading about EBV/Mono, can anyone elaborate what this actually is? I will be going back to GP if symptoms still persisting in a week's time, but in the meantime am considering getting checked for EBV/Mono before being referred to an ENT as this could more rapidly resolve what it is? Am a fairly healthy 24 y/o otherwise - diet is a bit poor (turned vegetarian few months back, poss lacking some protein!), but do not smoke or drink heavily. Also, came back 'clinically euthyroid' last month after a heart scan/test (been having palpitations constantly) which I presume means I'm fine in that area...
Any advice/similar probs? Tiring of reading about over-exaggerated cases!

I had to review a book for my english class and considering To Kill A Mocking Bird is my favourite book I've read in a while. I chose the book. I'm 13. Do you think this is a good review and can you suggest any improvements?
I had heard many great things about To Kill a Mocking Bird before actually reading it. So as I turned the first page I was very excited. The story starts off with Jean Louise Finch reciting her summer holidays before first grade. Jean, or ‘scout’ living in Alabama, United States narrates the story. The context is 1950’s America when there’s wide spread racism, poverty and prejudice. Alabama being one of the white dominant areas.
The first chapter was disappointing for me however as I struggled through, things got better. But as it got better, it also got darker, stranger and more and more relative to myself. The story being seen through a young, curious girls eyes – first person narrator - gives the book a powerful and personal perspective and you don’t want to put the book down.
Atticus, Scout’s father, has a calm personality and an insightful intelligence. He is strict but kind. You also read about his sternness when Scout touches on sensitive issue, such as coloured people being treated differently. After Atticus agrees to defend a black man for a rape charge, Scout becomes concerned for her father’s safety.
Overall a very good book with a powerful message that I would highly recommend to all 13 year old avid readers.

I'm African and live in the UK was born in Europe etc. etc.
My friends are predominantly Indian, white and Pakistani. Funny thing is, I haven't and I can swear to you that I have never been bullied or racially bullied by whites and Asians in this country.
The only people I faced a very hard time with were the Black British.
I'd be called Somalian and I would be called names, had stuff thrown at me, just really bad bullying.
I just wanted to share this. Has anyone else experienced bad bullying from their own kind? Or why do you think this happened? Why do you think they did this?And I'm just asking this for the sake of it.
To add onto it, I always kept my head down at secondary school, worked hard for my grades, ended up with A's, was really quiet and not really into the stuff the other black girls did.They played with guys and did other silly things.

I was a stalker and I made up pathetic lies, like if two of my friends were having a sleepover for example I would get jelous and say someone in my family had died.
I was fat, and Im not being mean to fat people but I wore mini skirts and skin tight tops! I mean come on old me...and Id wear school sandals and long old white socks :L and then I put talc on my face to look gothic O_O
I had messy long tramp hair and I was unhygenic (Im not anymore don't worry!) I used to want to 'be' characters such as the candle from beauty and the beast and I forced a french accent upon myself just to be like him at home... O_____O
I did this 'being' thing with loads such as the jellyfish from sharks tale, darth vader,angelica from the rugrats (oh god, check the paragraph below XD) and other things aswell.
When I was pretending to be angelica I put on a dungaree dress think with other clothes I though looked like angelica, then I tried walking like her and talking like her, and kept constantly asking my paretns if I was her. Bare in mind I was 12-11 then!! What a freak.
Once my dad was making something in the kictehn and it accidently set a towel on fire, not alot and he put it out straight away, but I started gasping and said 'We can't afford to make mistakes like that!' trying to be in a movie or something.
I used to write pages about people in my school, making up books about each single classmate.
I wish I could go back in time as the new improved me and punch the old me in the face! And say stop being such a pathetic freak, can't you see?? Youve ruined everything, I never had friends in primary and then lost all my self confidence, Im only just starting to be confident in myself now!

Sorry if this gets a bit long-winded, but I really find this quite shocking:
I have here the top google hit for asking the question: 'Are black people at a lower risk of skin cancer?'
It also happens to be Cancer Research UK's Website - Cancerhelp.org. The link is to their 'Risks and Causes' page, the one that flagged up as the first google hit for the above question. Their only reference to black people is under the 'Who is most at risk' section and even then only in one sentence in one paragraph! This seems to be a fairly comprehensive page, covering everything from age, family history and other ilnesses, to chemicals, smoking and radiation exposure! - Each of which has their own section!
The worst has yet to come...
The single sentence that refers to black people on the 'Risks and Causes' page of Cancer Research UK's website (one of, if not THE top cancer charity/research organisation in the UK) is:
"Black skinned people are less likely to get skin cancer, but they can be at risk on the soles of the feet and palms of the hands."
I was shocked (to say the least) at reading this, bearing in mind where I had read it and the fact that I had been looking for a sensible and informative answer. I guess you could pull from it that black people are at less risk of skin cancer and from reading the rest of the page you could probably work out why, but if you were to take them at their word? What, should black people try to always wear gloves and socks in times of high exposure? I think not. Somehow I couldn't see it selling in Africa, especially if it was coming from a white person, as I suspect, (just by reading that sentence) that this article is. That said, I find it very hard to imagine how they could sunburn their hands and bottoms of their feet, other than laying on their backs with their hands and feet in the air?! Lol. So, Black people of the United Kingdom, Cancer Research Uk's top advice to you is: Don't have sex in intense sunshine and if you do, be sure to wear gloves and socks at all times!

Also, besides all the joking there seems to be a more serious point. The 7'th Google hit for the same question was a page on skin cancer from brownskin.net, which, as the name suggests is a site written by and for black people and is largely about skin. Alarmingly, this page states quite clearly that black people have a false sense of security regarding the risk of skin cancer and that whilst the amount of black people who contract skin cancer is lower overall, the mortality rate is in fact higher! I believe this is an American site, but it certainly sounds believable. Given C' R' UK's "advice" on the subject is so flimsy and I would say perhaps even a little insulting. Especially so, when that sketchy/insulting advice directly contradicts the advice of a 'black skin' website?

I find it really quite alarming that this seems to be such a grey area, when today in 2010, a good % of our population is not white. My original question was going to be 'are black people less at risk...' but I think as I've gone on the question is perhaps more appropriate if along the lines of:
Is there a massive oversight on the part of the leading cancer awareness organisations in the UK and possibly the rest of the world? And could, or even should, more be done to raise awareness amongst black people and advertise that whilst they may be at less risk of being damaged by the Sun's UV rays, they are at a high risk of mis-diagnosis or un-awareness that they are vulnerable?
I'm not trying to stir an arguament, or say anything intended to offend anyone, I have genuine concerns about this (potential) issue. I am really struggling as to who to vote for in the next election. I am repulsed by Labour and would be glad to see the back of them, as, probably like many people, have had a hard time through them.
I am definitely not saying "I am going to rush out and vote BNP" as they are a party whom I have never really had good or bad thoughts on. However, I had a brief look at their policies on their webpage this morning and am trying to weigh up the pros and cons should they ever get in (I know there is a limited chance though).
Two of the things which I must say I am interested in is their policies on immigration and tax. They seem to have the idea that immigration should be halted and taxes lowed, both of which I am hardly complaining about! I do think the current immigration we have now is a problem, I dont need to believe what I read in the tabloids, as it's happening in front of my eyes. I am sick of paying these high taxes as well, and would be in favour of them abolishing stealth taxes.
On the immigration front though, I did think about the cons- if we didnt allow anyone into the UK, surely other countries would follow suit and stop trading with us? Clearly nothing shall be mentioned on the webpage, but where is this idea coming from about making Britain a "white" country? If that is true, that's something I am against, as I dont mind Britain being mixed, but I am against all this immigration being out of control.
A few other things I was in favour to on their page was their environment policy about putting cables(?) etc underground to prevent ruining scenic places. Unfortunately, there has been a go ahead near to the area that I live to put horrible pylons etc in place. It's going to ruin and destroy the countries beauty. Also I liked the fact about putting more doctors, nurses etc and employing British doctors etc; it does frighten me in years to come that when I am qualified as a healthcare professional, there wont be any (or many) vacancies going. Plus I remember I had to wait over three years to get a brace at the dentists because the waiting list was so long!
Finally, the idea for punishing criminals seemed a good one. I have been a victim of crime (sexually assaulted and harrassed at my work years ago). It's neither here nor there, as it's irrelevant to what they did, but the two men involved were Brazilian and when I reported it to my boss (for what they were doing) he said I couldnt as it was racist. I was too frightened to speak out again until they did something worse. The police turned a blind eye and I was left very hurt, nothing was done for me as a victim. One of them went onto assault another member of staff at a different work place.
However, I did think of one con, which was abolishing the Human Rights Act- what would it mean, for example, for someone with mental health problems? Would they be affected?

I think there is a specific size of ink cartridge to go in that printer, but i don't know what it is.
It would be in black and white.
The manga is 'Vitamin' (I'm saying this for the people who need to take a look at how much ink would be on the pages. Please remember i will try and put two of those pages into one normalsizedd paper (that would make the normal size of manga books - two pages so i dont think there is any problems there).The reason i am asking is because i know they cost a lot and if it would take up the whole ink cartridge, of more, i won't print them.

I hate the planet name, but I had to call it something for the time being. Any ideas for better names? Your help would be greatly appreciated.Wabanang isn't my hero, he is the first god of the planet, the creator if you will. I guess the whole thing is pretty weak, that's why i wanted your criticism's. This is the only part of my story so far that I'm unsure about. I just wanted to see the beginning of my world, and to bring music into it somewhere (music plays a major role in how the world evolves later) can anyone come up with better ways for me to do this? It’s funny how a mirror reflects you, isn’t it. It doesn’t show the real you, it shows you the you that you want everyone else to see, an act. But sometimes you need that act. The cover. Otherwise how would I hide my secret?
You see, I’m a Shifter. I shift into a werewolf. I’m Faith Marie Lupa, My family was chosen to be wolves, it goes back to hundreds of years ago, when your great, great, great, great, great Granddad or Grandma hits puberty (I know, ewww grandma getting boobs) they start to feel that they don’t belong with all their friends, could be people they have known since they were little tots running around. They have an urge to be outside, and usually on your 16th birthday when you are sitting outside an wolf will come up to you. Well, when you see them you are able to hear their thoughts, they tell you to imagine yourself as a wolf, then you start to tingle all over, when you open your eyes everything looks different, as a wolf everything is black and white and you look down and see these huge paws where your hands were, and you have this thick furry pelt. My dad, Lovell which means wolf, is huge in human form, 6ft 6, broad shouldered and had strong features, he has warm brown eyes, nice eyes, he has soft wavy hair, light brown, when he is in his brother wolf form he is huge, he is the alpha, his fur is weird, his hair is brown in human form but in his wolf form it is grey, with a flush of white from his neck to the base of his tail. My mum, Talia, is quite different, she is 5ft and had a petit face and bone structure, she had blue eyes, very dark brown hair, basically black, and it’s cut into a short pixie cut, when she is wolf form she has the same colour fur as her hair, she is a stunning wolf as stunning as she is in her other form, sleek but not bony.
I’m a little ‘cutie’ apparently; in human form I have long light blond hair, so light that it looks white. It’s down to my belly button; I have a petit face, like my Mum. I have a stormy blue eye and a warm brown eye; I have one of my mum’s eyes and one of my dad’s. When I’m a wolf I am as blond as I am in my human form with a brown flick on my muzzle with a black tail as well, I am small when I’m a wolf, as small as I am when I’m a human, I am only 4ft 6, nearly all the girls in my year (I’m 14, so I’m in year 10) are nearly a foot taller than me. Did you know that when a werewolf, in its wolf form, stands up it measures up to the height it is in human form, I’m the smallest in my family. I can’t pass as a real wolf so I have to be especially careful when i hunt, my mum and dad can pass as wolves but me, I have to hunt in the shadows. Still, I’m a better hunter then both of them, I can tread quieter and I am more patient. I have a better ear than them, I can hear where the prey is but not just that I can tell what it is. I can smell the prey from 200 meters off, believe me that’s impressive. I’m one of a kind, supposedly.
i was hunting and thinking about my first ever change, remembering that not only can i not be a normal teen but i can even be a normal were-wolf.
I hit my ‘were’ stage faster than any other were we have met. Most turn for their first time when they turn 16, But I turned for the first time on my 14th birthday. Imagine my surprise when I went to get into bed and looked out my window, wishing that I could go and run in to the woods at the end of my garden, when I started to tingle, looking down, seeing hair pop out of my skin and start making its way up my body. Hearing a scream and then my parents rushed in. They looked so surprised that it would have made me laugh, if I had been able to. I was fully wolf at that stage and I could see my parent’s lips moving but couldn’t hear a thing over the growls ripping out of my chest. My dad ran out of the room, all I could think was “great my dad’s gone to call, animal control, he probably thinks that a wolf has eaten his daughter!” my growls died down to whimpers to the thought that I would never turn back to normal, I would be stuck as this beast forever. I feel my mum’s arms around me and started think “wait, if she thought I was a savage wolf who just killed her daughter, would she hug me?” so I realised that she knew that this was going to happen. So many thoughts started running through my brain that when another voice joined in I didn’t even notice, then this voice booms so loudly that it’s like a mental slap. I stopped withering in self pity and looked up. There sitting in front of me was a huge storm cloud grey wolf, a rusty copper coloured wolf and a black wolf sitting in front of me, the grey wolf in front and the others sitting to his left and right in a v-shape. I laterthanks i actually was trying to put the whole chapter up but it only did this much. sorry but i will put up all of it in a minute :D

In a little house, on the edges of a great city, there lived a little girl. The house stood in a long street of identical houses, one of many identical rows spiralling out into the surrounding countryside. There was nothing special about the house, or the city. Many people lived in many houses, in many cities, just like them across the world.
The girl, however, this one little girl, she was very special. She had a secret which needed to kept hidden at all cost. For if the secret every got out...well, who knew what would happen?
But the girl was careless. She did not keep her secret well and it escaped. The people in the houses around her became afraid.
There was no other choice, her father told her. They had to leave. So they went North. Far North, where the edges of the land bled into the sea.
And there, they began again.
Thursday follows Thursday, marking the weeks and months of the year as autumn passes and winter comes. The colour bleeding out of the landscape, bright green leaves turning gold, then grey. The dark rocks and dusky heather covered hills taking on on a severe and overbearing beauty almost unimaginable in the softness of summer.
The white van moves agonisingly slowing up the driveway. From my vantage point at the first floor window I watch it disappear and reappear amongst the overhanging trees. “Come on, come one, come on”. I tap my feet in rhythm with the words. Buck, picking up on my tension, is practically turning somersaults in the hallway below. He stops, races to the top of the stairs, sniffs my feet, then races back to the bottom, his claws clipping on the wooden steps. He moves so quickly I fear he’ll fall snout over tail to the bottom.
Thursday mornings are always the worst for me. It’s the only time of the week I’m not completely free and so, I suppose, I resent it.
It’s not that I don’t try to fill the many hours of my week. It’s just that, well, thinking about it too much is a little...overwhelming. For someone in my situation, I think it best to live from day to day. Moment to moment. Don’t think too far ahead, or the weight of all the years ahead of me in this house...crushing.
Now though, stood at the window, waiting, my head is filled with ideas on how to spend the rest of my morning.
The van is one minute away. I check my reflection in the mirror at the top of the stairs, looking to see everything is in place. Good thing too. One of my bandages around my neck has worked its way loose, revealing the nothingness underneath. I doubt he’d notice anything was amiss in the few moments it takes for him to put the bags inside the front door and for me to sign the receipt. Still, I must be careful.
He’s getting out of the van. I dive for the stairs, slipping on my socked feet down the first few steps. For a moment I feel the pull of gravity towards the earth, suspended for a few heartbeat less seconds, realising how far it is to the floor below. Images flash through my mind of myself, falling, breaking into a thousand pieces. Something horrible for Rachel to find when she comes downstairs. Then I right myself, continuing more carefully.
I remember the last time I was careless...
On my way down to the shore to carry out my weekly ritual, I pass by the lake, almost completely frozen over, the waterfall a silent pale-red icicle stretching from surface to cliff.
Even Buck seems in low spirits. The cold snap has come so suddenly his winter coat hadn’t had time to make an appearance yet, though you can see the fur thickening at his shoulder and along his spine. I walk beside him; my hand plunged into the thick brush on his neck. Winter was usually my favourite time of year. I enjoyed feeling the impact I made on the world. My feet crunching through frosted grass, or sinking deep into drifted piles of snow, leaving deep footprints in the powdery snow. I take a deep breath and breathe out. The warmth I create hangs in the air for a second, before being pulled away by the wind.
I place the eggs in a circle on the sand, as I’ve done so many times before. My hands shake in the cold. So much colder by the shore. Buck paces backwards and forwards along the edge of the waterline, whining out to sea. The wind stings tears from my eyes as my gloved hands fumble with the eggs. I say the wishes silently in my head, not wanting to open my mouth and let the cold air blast my insides. The final egg drops below the waves and I make the decision that this will be the last time I do this. It’s a childish idea I had when I first moved here, after ten years it’s time to stop.
Turning to go, I take my customary final look out to sea. Is something there? Yes. A hand. Attached to a dark mass I guess to be a body. Dead or alive? I can’t tell. Alive. It waves.
I have only a moment toI have only a moment to think. But I don’t think. Instinctively I kick away my thick boots and throw off the bulky winter coat and scarf. Striding past Buck, I wade out into the sea, staying on my feet until the ground drops away beneath me. The cold is indescribable. If I could invent a stronger word than freezing I would. Thought was nearly impossible, but I try to pretend to myself I am swimming in the sun-dappled lake in summer.
The figure seems a thousand miles away. Might as well be a million. Might as well be on the moon. The Sun. At least that would be warm. The only thought in my mind is to reach whoever it is. God, I hope this isn’t for nothing. I gasp, taking in a mouthful of seawater that feels like a thousand knives stabbing my insides. Cold, and yet strangely warm at the same time. It burns. My eyes sting, my limbs feel like they are about to detach themselves from my body.Slowly, I reach him. He seems unconscious. I have no idea what to do. Instinct takes over once more and I hook my arms under his armpits and attempt to kick my way to shore. My legs tangle with his. Suddenly has is awake and starting to fight me. Speech is impossible. No reassuring word can pass my lips to calm him. We both go down. I let go. Push him away. I have to. Every atom in my body screams for escape. I kick my way towards the pale light of the surface. Something drags me down.
I look, eyes starting to dim. In the murk below I see him, holding onto my leg. His eyes wide with panic. I reach down to grab his hand, thinking, maybe, I can pull him up with me. Too heavy. Once again we head for the depths.

But he seems to understand.I throw my discarded parka around him and I offer a hand up. After a long pause, he takes it. Together we stagger forwards. Barely aware of the direction, as long as it is away from the sea. The snow storm that has been threatening all morning has now broken in earnest. Fat, white flakes drift from the sky. After the horror of the sea, it was almost seems warm and friendly. It’s so tempting to lie down in it. Maybe for just a few moments.

Every time i open Yahoo mail (classic style), scrolling the page with the mouse is very slow and jumpy, especially on the Inbox where there is the email list. I have this problem with IE6, with IE7, even with Firefox, and it happens on all my computers. When i open an email, scrolling is quite fine, but as soon as i get in the Inbox, in the Spam or any other place showing a list of emails, scrolling becomes annoyingly slow and unreliable.
Funny though, if I place the mouse on the very edge of the page (the leftmost or the rightmost 3-4 pixels -- pure white, no html object), the scrolling behaves normally. BUT, when i put the mouse over the mail list, even moving the mouse around makes my CPU jump to 50-70% !!
I suspect there is a problem with Yahoo bloated scripts that kick in on mouse-move and mouse-scroll. This does not happen on any other mail provider i know (Gmail, Hotmail etc), only on Yahoo.
Any other people have the same issue? Any solution maybe?

I already went thru all that cache cleaning, restart etc etc etc. As i said, this happens on all my computers, as well as the university's library, where the machines / system is light and untouchable. I'm pretty sure this is the result of bloated scripts, or maybe scripts that are badly designed. The reason i suspect that is because, when i run with all scripts disabled (in Maxthon, Greenbrowser or FF), mouse-scrolling works fine, and the CPU stays under 5%.
Maybe Yahoo designers should focus more on responsiveness and effectiveness, rather than visual effects and featuritis...
But i'm still curious if other people noticed the same issue?Also, I noticed this slow down several months ago, maybe a year. How long would maintenance, upgrade and testing should take, i wonder...

I usually get this feeling when i'm in a large area with lots of silent people for instance exams or assemblies it started about 3-4 years ago but has become worse over the years. I start to randomly feel really tired and then become very dizzy and then i get a hot flush and everything looks abit white so i feel like i'm going to faint. I've noticed i get this alot during exams and it makes me really struggle to concentrate and i become fidgety and the words on my page become abit blurry. I just feel really worried in that situation and i feel trapped because there's so many people but it is silent.
I went to see a doctor but all he said was i had low blood pressure and it could be to do with that, he didn't prescribe me anything for it and said just exercise more to get more oxygen in me and to drink more water. This hasn't changed anything though.
If anyone can tell me what this may be it would really help.

I don’t believe everything I see and hear from the “News” media because it’s a mistake to assume that the “News” media is pure and moral. I wouldn’t even recommend the American people to believe what they see and hear from the “News” media because the truth is filtered, and can be misleading, and it can also easily be manipulated by people with money. The rich can afford to hide their secrets while any ordinary person cannot and that angers me. The “News” media went to such extent now that they’ve become harmful and less trustworthy to the society.
The sad thing is that most people do believe what they hear, see, or read in the “News” media, and consider it to be nothing more but the truth and the truth only. They are so swayed by all the lies and misinformation given out to them by the “News” media and it’s mostly because of their love and devotion for the country that they allow themselves to be vulnerable to the “News” media. Clear case was Hurricane Katrina. The “News” media knew that Katrina would wreak devastation of historic proportions and yet they didn’t do much to evacuate the residents. Over at least 1,836 people lost their lives as a result of the local government’s poor display of disaster preparedness.
I also remember the officials of the Environmental Protection Agency lying about the air quality at Ground Zero because the White House influenced them to. The “News” media reported it and caused the workers who went there to get sick.
