Open Question: Torn between two girls, and two worlds?
So, before I start, I will give some back ground, And in the end I just want to know what other people would do, and if I am acting rationally.
I met Maria 7 years ago, when I was 15. We lived in the same city, and were a part of the same religion. Unfortunately for us, it was a fundamentalist church, which ruined most of our childhoods. We had everything in common, and despite all the rules, fell in love around 16 or so. It was young love, puppy love, innocent. To me, the most beautiful thing in the world. In the end It was stripped from us and I was shunned from the religion. I was beyond furious that they could do such a horrible thing to stop 2 kids from having a puppy love romance. (which, is a normal part of human development, I mean we aren't just born knowing how to have good relationships). In the end, I was invited back into the religion 6 months later, but instead I gave all of them a giant "GFY!!!" and moved to california with a friend. Ever since, I have been on my own with my own new life, but still maintained contact with maria, on more of a long distance on/off relationship. We love each other still, and it will never change, I mean she is my best friend, but life goes on.
Just under 2 years ago, I met angela. We started dating and eventually she moved in with me. I still live in Cali, and have had my life/schooling here for a while. Recently, I was presented with a business opportunity for a 2 week grant in NYC. I was thrilled at the opportunity for extra work, but also at the possibility of being able to see Maria for the first time in 7 years. I took off for the trip, and was unable to get a hold of maria. During my work trip, the first I have taken since I started dating angela, she became immensely resentful, and clingy for me going. (she has no clue about maria). It turns out that she is one of those people that want you to be the center of their world, and when your not there, they start to feel worthless. So needless to say, I am feeling alot of pressure from angela. She is showing personality traits that I had ink links about but never really thought would show up. She is getting depressed, and not doing much, she is missing school and acting like because I am gone for 2 weeks she can't function. In the mean time, half way into my trip, Maria, finally gets a hold of me. We meet up for coffee, and end up making out in the back of her car. I mean, the level of passion, and pent up emotion that I felt... I mean we were literally crying and kissing at the same time. The last time I saw this girl, she was ripped from my life at 15/16. It was an unreal night. I dropped her off at her apartment and went back to my hotel (which was VERY hard to do, but I am a gentlemen to the best of my abilities). We manage to meet up a few times later in the trip, and its as if nothing was missed... like we had been together for the pass 7 years. She was exactly like I remembered her, only grown up =). The trip finally ended, and I went home. Angela picked me up at the airport and gave me a fake guiltrip about choosing my career over her. (keep in mind, we are dating not engaged). Needless to say, the infatuation took some time to get over, as it always does, and during that time I was subject to life as usual. 2 months pass, and I get a call from a friend in NYC, saying he has an interesting proposition for me, a full transfer of all my studies, and work, to NY from Cali. At this point, Yesterday... My world crashed.
I am so torn, I don't know what to do with my self. I love angela so much, and we have 2 years of traveling, and history, but I feel like im dating her out of pity now... Its almost like this clingy, selfish personality trait has surfaced that wasn't there when we first were dating... But of course, with the whole maria thing, and the fact that maria and I would be dating the moment I stepped off the plane in NYC if I took the job, I am inclined to look at Angela's faults, instead of all the things I love her for.
So... that's my dilemma. Obviously, I am of no sound mind to make this sort of call, I am torn 50/50... opinions please from anyone and everyone. Thank you all for reading.

Martinsville is a rapidly growing town. Many new families have moved to Martinsville
for its job opportunities. Recent development has led to the creation of new apartments,
condos, town houses, and retail spaces. The developments tend to be high in density, and
residents have little or no land of their own for outdoor recreation. Though the town is
clean and offers great public services, such as schools and libraries, there are few public
spaces available for recreation. Land value is high and open space is dwindling. Local
gyms and one country club offer recreation, but not all of the citizens can afford
membership rates or fees. One local park exists, but no pets are allowed. Families who
own dogs complain that there are no resources in the town for families with pets.
As a member of Martinville’s town council, you are considering a proposal for the
construction of a dog park on five acres of public land. A national pet store chain has
offered the town a grant to partially fund the construction of the park. The town has a
budget surplus and can afford the remaining cost of construction. Following the example
of a nearby county, the town council would like to develop the park and charge users a
small yearly fee to finance maintenance. Before this proposal can be accepted, the town
council must hold a hearing to provide citizens with access to information regarding the
proposal. The hearing is in one week and already your office has received phone calls
from concerned citizens who believe that the proposed dog park is a waste of town
resources, as well as calls from pet lovers who would like to see the town devote some
resources for families with pets.
In order to prepare for the meeting, you must organize information so that you can
address the public and answer questions. Although you are personally in favor of the
park, you must consider the public’s interest in making a decision.
1. What economic question(s) does this case require the town to ask? (2 points)

Let us walk together, in this walk of Life and spread happiness and joy.
Child Care
“The cost of living has become very important and as prices rise -- which they will -- it will become more important. Housing has to be the most important factor, taxes are crucial as well; healthcare has also become an issue, as well as childcare.”
Literacy plays an important role to develop any country or society. Literacy can lead to health awareness and empower people to participate in the cultural and economic well being of the country. Though literacy has improved considerably after Independence, it still lags behind compared to other countries. One of the main reasons being lack of Monterey resources for the disadvantaged and the orphans. We at Taayi Mane aim to bridge the gap between the children who strive to be educated & the goodwilled people who are willing to make these children’s dreams come true.
To extend any charitable help, to the deserving people as and when found necessary.
To associate with any charitable or voluntary agencies, students, and youth to carry out any project, which will be beneficial to the people.
A good number of elderly persons have sufficient income for their living but no relatives to take care of them in their old age and sickness. Another good number of old people have no income, no relatives to support and are living in a miserable state, being old and sick, mostly bedridden they are in good need of food, shelter, medical aid, loving care, emotional support and respect. These two groups of elderly are liable to get, serious psychological depression.
Our theme is always living with them, eat, play and pray with them. The residents are provided with nutritious food, medical aid and other needs. We provide the facilities for relaxation and recreations, attend to their spiritual needs, and at the end, prepare them for a peaceful death. Thus they have a feeling of wanted ness, belongingness, self worth and dignity.

moreOpen Question: Loan Officer Lied and Caused Financial Hardship?
My loan officer said we could get our new home while having our current home on the market if we did one of two things- paid off our credit card debt or for me to get a job to cover the minimum monthly payments on the credit card debt. This was the only way for us to have two homes at once. If neither of those things could be done, then we had to sell our current home. We paid off almost all the debt and I got a job that covers the minimum credit card payments and some and not to mention my hubby got a 6% raise. We paid down the debt by selling every piece of furniture we own and other odds and ends and even my husbands car. Now, after all this, a hard hit on my credit and frustration with a loan officer who cusses, never returns phone calls or emails and hangs up the phone on you, none of the things that we did to get our new home would have helped us, except to sell our current home. Our new home will be under rural development and RD never allows a second home unless the current home is a manufactured home or trailer. So, we sold everything, took a hard hit on my credit and got a lousy minimum wage job for nothing. Luckily in 6 days we will be closing on the sale of of current home and closing on our new home, but having our new home does not make up for the fact we are out furniture and a car, when those things did not have to be sold in the first place. I even talked to the bank that is funding the mortgage and they said it sounds like my loan officer was stalling us (our new home is new construction so our loan has been processing for 5 months pending the finish of the construction) in hopes our current home would sell so she could make a buck. What can I do to recoup the damages? I want at least a refund on the money we spent for this loan officer to process our loan. ideally, the money spent to process the loan and money to replace our car and furniture. What can I do?

moreVoting Question: Hey liberals, why do you support the building of a mosque on ground zero by a man with ties to terrorists?

Mosque Investor Was Terror Contributor
Updated: Friday, 03 Sep 2010, 9:25 AM EDT
Published : Thursday, 02 Sep 2010, 6:01 PM EDT
BY CHARLES LEAF
MYFOXNY.COM - Fox 5 News reported Thursday that one of the financial backers of the Islamic mosque and cultural center project in Lower Manhattan once contributed to a terror group, although the investor says the contribution was made because he thought he was giving money to a harmless charity.
One of the key players in Sharif El-Gamal's Mosque near Ground Zero is Egyptian born businessman, Hisham Elzanaty. Fox 5 News has learned exclusively and confirmed with Mr. Elzanaty’s attorney that Elzanaty made a “significant investment” in the development of the mosque near Ground Zero.
Fox 5 has also uncovered Elzanaty has teamed up with El-Gamal on at least two real estate deals: the controversial mosque site and another deal involving a commercial property in the Chelsea section of Manhattan.
In the Chelsea deal, mortgage documents show Elzanaty played a major role signing off as the guarantor on El-Gamal's $39 million mortgage.
When Fox 5 News reporter Charles Leaf tracked down Elzanaty outside his Long Island home in Roslyn Heights last week Elzanaty avoided the camera and did not answer a single question about his business dealings with El-Gamal.
Fox 5 News has also learned that in 1999 Hisham Elzanaty sent money to an organization that would later be deemed by the U.S. government to be a terrorist group.
The organization was the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development, also known as HLF. The now defunct group’s 1999 tax records show Elzanaty contributed more than $6,000 to HLF.
Two years later, in 2001, HLF was shut down by the federal government and designated as a global terrorist. After a mistrial in 2007, in 2008 five HLF leaders were convicted of providing material support to Hamas.
The Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT) is a non-profit research group that focuses on radical Islamic terrorist groups. The research group shared its information on HLF with Fox 5 News and IPT’s Managing Director, Ray Locker tells us HLF, “masked what their true purpose was, they funneled money to Hamas which used that money to conduct terrorist operations. In many cases they gave that money to the widows and children of so-called martyrs. ”
Federal investigators say HLF was set up as the largest Muslim charity in the United States based in Richardson, Texas, but from its inception the group existed to support Hamas.
Mr. Elzanaty's attorney tells Fox 5 News exclusively his client believed he was making contributions to an orphanage.
But IPT’s Ray Locker claims even back then TV and newspapers were reporting suspicions of the group’s ties to terror. “If you gave money (to HLF) in 1999 you probably had some inkling that HLF was giving money to Hamas and therefore to terrorist operations,” Locker says.
Mr. Elzanaty's contribution to HLF came in the same year his Egyptian parents, Abdou Elzanaty and Abed Raboh Fawkia Elzanaty, were killed in a plane crash. On October 31, 1999, Egyptair flight 990 left New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport bound for Cairo, but crashed in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Nantucket Island killing 217 people. U.S. investigators concluded the flight’s pilot deliberately crashed the plane in a suicide, while Egyptian investigators disagreed, concluding the flight had mechanical problems.
Elzanaty’s attorney tells Fox 5 the tragic plane crash changed Mr. Elzanaty's life and brought him closer to Islam.
--------------
See below for the 1999 IRS 990 form for the organization known as: Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF).
It shows Hisham Elzanaty’s $6,050 contribution. (Specific street addresses and names have been removed by Fox 5 News)
In 2001 the HLF was shut down by the U.S. government and designated as a global terrorist. After a mistrial in 2007, in 2008 five HLF leaders were convicted of providing material support to Hamas, a group on the U.S. governments List of Foreign Terrorists.

moreResolved Question: Am i a good writer? I need help, please.?
I wrote this a while back and my spelling, grammar and stuff like that isn't good. I'm only 13 now and i don't think i'm a very good writer but i like writing. Could you rate the story out of 10 (10 being best and 1 worst) I don't mind constructive criticism and i really want to know how i can improve but could you also point out the ok parts as well. Thank you.
My life is dull. Everybody thinks that and when someone else says it they both think about being at home watching the TV or maybe going outside. They are bored because their friends are away on holiday or just ill but I don’t even have that excuse. I’m not allowed outside, I’ve never seen sunlight. I have no friends and I never get ill. To many people I sound strange and vampire like but this is my life. I’m not a vampire or any dark chilling creature you can conjure up in your mind. I’m not a mythical creature but people may argue that, but nobody knows who I am, or where I’m being held. I’m just an average 17 year old. I am tall and lanky, I’m thin but not malnourished. I have soft beige colored skin, with dark auburn, slightly curled hair and teal eyes. But that’s were the average part ends, the rest of my life has been completely different to any other teen’s. I have a butler-Terence. He’s 35 and has always been there for me. I guess, in a way, he is my only friend. He has been their my whole life I don’t remember a day when he wasn't answering one of my demands, and he never complains. Not even his face shows exhaustion or stress, he is always calm and teaching me magic tricks. Well, I call them magic tricks, but their more me using my given powers than being like the simple con-artists who people pay to see to do something that just tricks the mind. This is the reason I’m locked away in a top security house, hidden somewhere deep in the countryside out of anyone’s view. Because I was born abnormal. Many think their abnormal because they don’t make friends well or look a bit odd, but I have magical powers that I was born with, so they run tests on me and keep me a secret from everyone. Its just a way to keep everyone calm and only the people who need to know like the scientists and doctors, and it’s a way to keep me safe from the weirdo’s and creep’s lurking the streets. I’m grateful but they limit me to where I can go. I have my bedroom, on suite bathroom, walk-in wardrobe and games/magic room but I’m not allowed anywhere else. All of these rooms are up stairs, I have never been downstairs, I feel trapped. Like a animal in a cage, the only people I’m allowed to talk to are the doctors, scientists, bodyguards and Terence. Terence brings me all my meals that the chef has prepared and if I want snacks, or clothes or any new games Elizabeth-my shopper- gets it for me. I feel like I’ve been grounded for my whole life. I don’t even know my parents or any other family I might have, after the doctors saw my enhanced development they immediately did tests, then I came here. They stopped all communication between me and my family, and assigned Terence as my butler. They allowed my mother to name me before they took me away. I have no last name, so even though I have all the new laptops and everything else new, I can’t trace my family tree. I’m only known as Blossom. But now my desire for the outside world and my family is stronger and I can’t help but ask Terence about everything- including my family.
Thank you for reading and i don't mind if you didn't like it because i'm not a very good writer. Any tips would be much appreciated.

moreVoting Question: How is my essay? prompt: write an essay in which you explain as clearly as possible...?
the reasons why you would want to be a teacher.
for a combined 11/12 english class focusing on kids who want to be teachers.
thank you!
Eugene P. Bertin once said, “Teaching is leaving a vestige of one self in the development of another.” Even though at times teaching can seem like an impossible task the overwhelming joy of knowing you have made an mark on your students’ lives would make it all worth it. Being a teacher would allow me to not only teach children, but also make an impact on their lives.
Even though at times teaching can seem like a daunting task the joy of knowing how much you have changed a young persons’ life will always continue to make up for it. For example, on an unpleasant day going to the classroom to teach may seem horrible but once you open your doors to a gaggle of smiling faces happy to see you, it could only bring a smile to your face. Seeing children everyday that look up to you and thank you for everything you do for them would be an amazing gift. There smiling faces and looks of hope when they learn something new would bring happiness to my heart knowing that I helped them achieve something new. Making a child’s day at school when there are problems at home would help bring them happiness. The simple thought of knowing how much you have influenced a child’s life or made their day is more than enough to make up for the long grueling nights of grading papers and making lesson plans.
Teachers have the ability to leave a permanent imprint on their students’ lives forever changing them. For instance, almost everyone has a favorite teacher, someone who changed the way they thought about school or influenced their lives. I would love to someday be someone’s favorite teacher leaving my mark on the way they think about school or even life. Influencing a child’s life or even bringing them an enjoyable and memorable year of schooling would be a reward. Maybe even if I grew to be someone’s favorite teacher it would lead him or her to into a career of teaching making a mark on even more student’s lives in the future. The possibilities are endless and the number of children I could inspire is never-ending and just impacting one child’s life would be a treasure to me. To have changed even one student’s life for the better would prevail over any of the hard times my teaching career could bring.
Making even the smallest impact on my students or even just one child’s life would be an amazing gift even if teaching brings me challenges. Growing to one day inspire another child to pursue a career in teaching could carry on an endless chain of teachers, inspiring and leading the students of each generation. Being a teacher could be much more than just a job, it could be a chance to inspire and impact young students lives.

I remember sitting in front of the television, bored and tired, flipping through the channels. I felt as though my life was going nowhere at this rate. That was when my hand stopped at one channel, my eyes on the screen in complete amazement. I watched in interest as these professional tap dancers came up on stage and started tapping their way across the dance floor. I watched in awe; not necessarily at the clothes, but at their shoes. The rhythm of those tap shoes made me feel excited. I pointed at the screen: This is what I wanted to do.
That was the start of my changed life, and the end of my boring days of doing nothing at home. I started taking tap dancing at an after school program at my elementary school. I was absorbed in the classes, and was determined to become better. I finally had something to look forward to every day. Even when I went off in middle school, I continued to take tap dancing at Broadway Dance Center and practiced on my own. Tap dancing in itself has helped me to become a more motivated and hard working person. I realized through practice that I was capable of making my life more interesting and worthwhile.
One of the things I will always thank is the after school programs that existed in elementary school. The classes may be easy compared to more professional ones, but it helped me grow interest in everything. Tap dancing to me was not only a turning point in my life, but also an inspiration to try other activities that may have sparked some interest. I did not realize how much I loved tap dancing until I took the classes, which lead me to wonder if there were other things that would spark the same interest, so I took as many classes and chances there were available to me both in and out of school. I took dance lessons from modern, ballet, jazz, hip hop, ballroom, and hula dancing. For instruments, I tried the piano, violin, and recorder. I also took drawing, acting, chorus, swimming, yoga, and martial art classes. Some I take more seriously than others, but in the end I learned through these experiences that I was not afraid of trying new things and exploring my interests. These extracurricular has helped me become a more curious and motivated person. I believe that trying new things has pushed me to become a more expressive and interesting person. Shyness has always been a struggle throughout my life, but these activities again, has pushed to become more confident in myself, even if it’s only baby steps.
It is difficult though, when the question of priorities come into play in high school. As academics and test scores become more important, I had to think of what to continue and what to leave behind for the time being. It was hard at first, but I am happy at where I am. I value my education just as much as my hobbies and the fact that I want to enjoy my life to the fullest. It is an ongoing struggle for me, but I have been able to keep up with my extracurricular just as much as the academics and tests at school. Balancing multiple things has at times made me feel stressed and overwhelmed, but I believe that I can push through these struggles and that there is no easy way to pass through life; therefore I have decided to keep up with everything so that I can really succeed in what I want to do, and what kind of person I want to become. In the end though, the busyness and conflicts of life has made me feel like I am working towards success. If I am able to pull through this ongoing struggle to this point, I believe that I can still do the same in college and in my future. Academics are equally as important as personal development; therefore I will continue to work hard in these two aspects.

moreVoting Question: Does anyone feel New home blues?
HI,
My husband and I bought our dream home and are about to move in a few days. And for some weird reason, instead of feeling elated I am feeling quite the opposite and a bit frightened as well. Here are some of the reasons-
1) It is a development in its PHASE 1....so there are almost no neighbors around us....in fact the land around us has tall weeds etc because it's the nature of new construction sites. I guess it does not look like the beautiful picture everyone has in their minds. We do have few neighbors, about 3-4 homes in the development all scattered around the huge land. I guess I feel LONELY, and I have no one to blame for it. And of course it's a little scary.
2) We have a 4 year old son and I hope he does not feel lonely there as well....we were hoping that sales would pick up and it has almost been no activity there due to the recession. It also scares us from an investment point of view.
3) We have never had a Phase 1 home and I just hope things pick up and we feel like it is HOME.
4) I hope we don't become the laughing stock of people around us because we look foolish living in a lovely home but in a unkept development with no neighbors.
Any reassurance from you all would be so helpful to boost my mood.
Thank you!
moreResolved Question: How come small market baseball teams do not get as much recognition as the bigger markets?
I know the majority of small market teams haven't nearly matched the success of the bigger markets, but believe or not many of the small markets are stacked with homegrown talent. In today's game, homegrown talent has become a new trend for many of the bigger markets. But for small market teams player development has been an obligation for quite some time. Because, many of them to not have the $8 million payroll that the Yankees make each season, its up to these teams to groom their talented prospects and hope that they can prosper and build a foundation for winning.
For example, the Padres, Braves, and Rangers are among several small market teams that have been successful at developing homegrown players. With a myriad of homegrown talent, all of them have the potential to build that winning foundation for 5-10 years.
Its just unfortunate that homegrown talent is undervalued by baseball fans who don't understand the system as well as we true baseball fans do.
For teams like the Red Sox and Yankees, both of them not only have the money only sign top free agents but also the ability to develop homegrown talent. The point I'm trying to address is that some people (not all) who follow baseball to a degree overlook the homegrown talent and track the veteran players who have been in the league a lot longer. For teams like the Rangers, Braves, and Padres, where homegrown talent outnumbers veteranship, many fans are less likely to tune in to their games because they'd rather been tracking free agent players with proven experience.
With home grown talent becoming a major commodity in today's generation, how can baseball fans become accepting with this new approach? How can they be more accepting to the small markets?

moreResolved Question: Trying to make friends, but never seems to work?
I'm lively, intelligent, have goofy sense of humor, well-traveled, young and active - but don't seem to create long lasting friendships.
I'm very social and easygoing, i try to accept invitations as many as I can, and only say no if I'm busy at work; i support friends, go to parties if invited, very friendly and nice, and never make bad comments about people etc. People seems to enjoy my company, but after twice or three times, my phone stop ringing, and it's always me inviting people out. It's not that I'm forgettable, because they make fun of me, tag me in the photos and make funny comments about me, and some of girls say that I'm the best, boys thought I was super cool, and I always have people around talking to me.
But then, all the attention, texts, calls just suddenly fizz out, and I've done nothing - they just forget or didnt care to invite me out.
Lately, I've noticed that 80% of emails I sent out to random friends - commenting on a photo/ party/ event, asking a serious question - never got a reply.
And also, it was hurtful these past 2 months, I've noticed that I haven't been invited to a few impromptu parties/ dinners/ events - which all my other friends were invited, and then pictures appear in the Facebook, and they comment how funny it was etc.
I don't know what to do, as I used to be a popular kid at school - I dress well, confident but i'm not arrogant or rude, actually quite the opposite.
I'm very sad - because I don't have any family, and my friends used to be my family, and now I'm feeling very lonely at times (and even so I read or go out to the movies by myself), and I'm constantly trying to make new friends, join local meet up groups, activities groups, but i miss having a pair of best friends - like I used to have in my home country and when I was younger. It used to be effortless.
I've been reading books about self-development and charisma effect - but seriously, I have been following the advices, but it seems that my so-called friendships don't last longer than few months and people I thought were my "true" friends who I've invited over my house, cooked, partied, and even traveled together just don't bother to check on me - if I do it, sometimes my email got unanswered for weeks, if ever.
what seems to be the problem?
is someone in the community able to give me a constructive response, I would appreciate it :)))
Many thanks.Just wanted to thanked you all for your constructive feedback. I should watch out for signs and patterns; and also relax and just be myself, and not try too hard.
@pissedmomma - you're so right - I come from a tropical country, where we're touchy feely, warm and have family values, therefore more people oriented - now I'm living in England. I've noticed that people say very often: "that person is not really a friend, just an acquaintance." - even so hang out and visit each other. I feel people are very detached here, so whenever I have a problem, i like to call overseas and reach my home country friends. I've lived in US and France before, but this is the first time in my life, that I'm having difficulty to make good friends. I thought London are full of international people like me, but mostly, they want to hang out to not feel lonely, be beer mates, go to pubs or short trips. My goal is to make friends for life :)) and I'm an optimistic! I'll look into charity work! Cheers!x
moreResolved Question: living in a big city or small town?!?
This is my practice essay about the topic above:-) im not sure that i use right grammar and punctuation... so if you could please correct them for me that would be great! thanks!!
Living in a big city may not be the preferable choice if you consider factors
like pollution, crime rate and healthy lifestyle as the first priorities. Because
of its bad reputation in many ways, some people afraid of city life and even
think that it has too many negative aspects to live. Certainly, city life and
rural life are absolutely the different sides of the coin. Even though living in
small town can be less stressful, safer and is better for health. There are
several reasons which illustrate that life in a big city has certain advantages
over living in a small town.
Firstly, the stronger point of big city that small town lacks is the public
transportation. Most of small towns do not give a lot of access to various
vehicles. On the other hand, it is widely known that big city often offers more
choices of public transportation than the small town. For example, in the
metropolitant city such as New York, the subway runs twenty-four hours for seven
days a week and also there are numerous numbers of taxi and bus which spread to
every area. As a result, people can go everywhere they want esaily with public
transportation.
In addition to public transportation, access to greater entertainment facility is
another positive aspect of living in a big city. In small town, there are usually
limited number of entertainment facility. For instance, in Dunedin, a small town
in the South Island of New Zealand; there is only one shopping mall located in
the city center. Whereas in the big city like Bangkok, not only there are many
shopping centers but also the cinemas, karaokes and concert halls are found
throughout the city that people can go and relax from stress. This shows clearly
that the entertainment facility in the big city provides more convenience and
self-indulgence to people that they cannot get if they live in small town.
Finally, the last reason that best explains the advantages of life in a big city
is the job opportunities. Due to the large number of people live in big city,
there are more professions, job positions and companies which are available for
young people especially the ones who specialise in specific subjects. In contrast
with small town that has fewer people, job positions and professions are limited
because big companies do not usually establish their headquarters there. For
example, in fashion career, big city such as Paris has higher rate of fifty
percents in job employment than small town like Provence. Therefore, it is
absolutely better for people to live in a big city as it is the ultimate chance
to search for desired job that relates to their knowledge.
In conclusion, there are three main reasons which show why life in a big city is
better by considering from brilliant public transportation, entertainment
attractions and job opportunities that are rarely found in most small towns. If
there is no change in the development of these aspects in small town, more and
more people will certainly leave their home town in order to gain more access of
these features in the big city.
moreResolved Question: I need your opinion on what to do?
I have been described as an indecisive person and you'll see why now, every year, around the same time, I have so many of opportunities to develop myself that I find it hard to make a decision and end up doing nothing for a whole year, this year I planned to do some voluntary work for the samaritans, study through work, learn to drive, do some home study courses and go to self development classes (confidence, self esteem and assertiveness), these are all opportunities that I could have taken months ago and now I'm kicking myself for not trying (to be honest, the reason I didn't take them when I had the chance was because I was suffering from really bad depression).
A new opportunity has just come up again, I have been offered a place at college to start a sociology degree that's part time for one year (2 days a week with accommodation) then finnish the last two years full time at a local university or to do a foundation degree that's full time to do nursing or psychology at a university of my choice.
A friend of mine keeps encouraging me to go to college full time, my family are also happy for me to attend it (I think their just trying to get rid of me) but I'm not so sure, as I am very under-confident and find it hard to mix with people, If I'm going to go to this college I would rather attend the part time course but the college is an hour and a half away by car and 5 hours away by public transport so everyone has told me to make sure I am able to drive before attending it as public transport will be expensive and nobody is willing to take me there and back every week.
I have asked the college if I could defer the course but they said that their not even sure if the courses will run next year. I know that education is important but I think that I seriously need to develop myself as a person before jumping into anything I'm not sure about (even if universities are getting harder to get into) and anyway I never even considered doing a sociology degree before I had the opportunity.
What do you think I should do? Take a leap of faith and go with the flow or should I go with my plans?

--In 1999, under pressure from the Clinton administration, Fannie Mae, the nation's largest home mortgage underwriter, relaxed credit requirements on the loans it would purchase from other banks and lenders, hoping that easing these restrictions would result in increased loan availability for minority and low-income buyers.
Putting pressure on the GSE's (Government Sponsored Enterprise) Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the Clinton administration looked to increase their sub-prime portfolios, including the Department of Housing and Urban Development expressing its interest in the GSE's maintaining a 50% portion of their portfolios in loans to low and moderate-income borrowers.[9]

New Agency Proposed to Oversee Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae
By STEPHEN LABATON
Published: September 11, 2003
WASHINGTON, Sept. 10— The Bush administration today recommended the most significant regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry since the savings and loan crisis a decade ago.
The plan is an acknowledgment by the administration that oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- which together have issued more than $1.5 trillion in outstanding debt -- is broken. A report by outside investigators in July concluded that Freddie Mac manipulated its accounting to mislead investors.
--Supporters of the companies said efforts to regulate the lenders tightly under those agencies might diminish their ability to finance loans for lower-income families.
-- ''These two entities -- Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- are not facing any kind of financial crisis,'' said Representative Barney Frank of Massachusetts, the ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee. ''The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.''
Representative Melvin L. Watt, Democrat of North Carolina, agreed.
''I don't see much other than a shell game going on here, moving something from one agency to another and in the process weakening the bargaining power of poorer families and their ability to get affordable housing,'' Mr. Watt said.@ Wizard.. i purchased my brand new home in indiana in august 2008. my purchase agreement states if the property requires flood insurance i had the right to back out. the developer realtor and builder of our subdivision are all one family. after living in my home for 6 weeks the property flooded, the street out front was 2 to 3 feet deep and i got some water in the crawl space. i contacted the county building and development dept and was told the property is in a floodplain requiring flood insurance, and the home should not of been built there. the plat states the subdivision is not in the flood hazard area based on a letter from FEMA from 1981. I have since found out that FEMA has never done flood maps for my town. I contact the department of natural resources and have found out that it was designated floodplain back in 1984 by the United States Dept of Agriculture. I obtained this map from the DNR the county and the town hall along with a flood insurance study done for our town by the DNR for FEMA in 2004, and they show my home and others 100% in the 100year floodplain. shouldn`t the realtor builder and developer known this info before building. the permit for my home also states not in a flood hazard area. based on this info, my home is not built above the base flood elevation and is not built to town ordinance of the guidelines of FEMA and the national flood insurance program. the realty agent also was asked twice about flooding and said there were no concerns. what should i doi already checked and there are no elevations listed on the survey even the county commissioners said they could not of built there. i was able to get elevations from google earth and the county surveyor, along with BFE from the DNR and they show the property 18 inches below the BFE. The surveyor of the plot stated he never pulled elevations only subdevided.well all the information that i have shows it in a 100 year floodplain and i have been gathering evidence for the past 16 months and can prove all that are involved should have known of the current information. You can`t misrepresent information that is known on propperty in indiana that u sellhow can some one not inform someone else of known documented condition of a home they are selling, it doesn`t matter if it is a FEMA map or State agence map it is still a Floodmap.according to FEMA and the national flood insurance program there should have been a elevation certificate done on the home and also never was. i obtained documents from the town hall after them making me wait 2 months and they could not provide all the permits that should have been required for the home either it doesn`t even have a well permit, which is required by state law.

moreResolved Question: Husband wants to get rid of 4 year old child's dog? Immoral?
The dog is a huge menace before anyone judges. We have two kids and this lady down the street had puppies and dumped a miniature poodle puppy on our laps for our sons 4th birthday. Its registered CKC, and is about 16 weeks old. It was a gift from her.
It pees on everything, refuses to eat dog food of any kind, eats the kids toys, poops on everything, loves to get into the laundry and pee all over it. It is just a really bad dog. It jumps up, it chews, it nips at the kids playfully, but still we have a 9 month old infant. Worst of all the lady doesn't want it back!
So my husband listed it online. He is just sick of it. I know the dog is a menace, and it sucks literally sucks having it here. But the thing means the world to our son and we have discussed her going to a new home. He said he will run away if we get rid of it! I asked him well can I buy you a new video game? He said no he wants the game and the puppy. I don't want this to hurt his development to have something he loves taken away. They chase each other around the front room all day long and my son will hop on the couch so she can't get at him then run around more.
I am up in the air regarding this situation. He's an asthmatic so this is the only type of pup he'd ever be able to have, but this specific dog is just bad! I never owned a dog as a kid, so its all new to me. My husband had 17 dogs his mother had a rural home and bred pom-chihuahuas when he was a kid. So he hates animals and doesn't want pets at all. But is it selfish of him to not want it, after all its not his to get rid of?No money nor time for training courses as I said this wasn't planned. Anything in self-help?No tyem, everything belongs to me as I am the breadwinner. Not vice versa, everything is not a man's. I def. wont be choosing your answer. Thanks Erin. We also have two outdoor cats we rescued years ago. They are old, docile, etc... lol. Yeah the pup is a PITA but we pet, bathe, walk it, etc... In 1994, President Clinton, along with the National Partners in Homeownership, set a goal for the nation to achieve an all-time high homeownership rate by the year 2000. Today -- a full three years early -- the Census Bureau reported that in the third quarter of 1997 the homeownership rate climbed to its highest level ever. Here are some of the results from the Census report, as well as other housing-sector statistics:
In 1995, at the request of President Clinton, the Administration convened the National Partners in Homeownership to carry out a National Homeownership Strategy
Lowered Closing Costs By $1,200 for Qualified First-Time Home Buyers. The Clinton Administration has cut FHA home mortgage insurance premiums four times
In 1999, under pressure from the Clinton administration, Fannie Mae, the nation's largest home mortgage underwriter, relaxed credit requirements on the loans it would purchase from other banks and lenders, hoping that easing these restrictions would result in increased loan availability for minority and low-income buyers.
Fannie Mae Eases Credit To Aid Mortgage Lending
WASHINGTON, Sept. 29, 1999 — In a move that could help increase home ownership rates among minorities and low-income consumers, the Fannie Mae Corporation is easing the credit requirements on loans that it will purchase from banks and other lenders.
The action, which will begin as a pilot program involving 24 banks in 15 markets -- including the New York metropolitan region -- will encourage those banks to extend home mortgages to individuals whose credit is generally not good enough to qualify for conventional loans.

moreResolved Question: My boyfriend told me I'm being overaffectionate. What should I do?
I'm a very physical person. I like kissing and touching. When he walks past me I like to grope him a little. Right now I'm unemployed. I spend the entire day by myself. So I don't think it's weird that when he comes home I'm a bit touchy and affectionate. I like sex, I like being frisky. We've been together for 2 years this is not a new development. today when he came home i was my normal self. he seemed nonresponsive so I stopped went to our room and chilled by myself. i'll admit I felt a bit rejected and i was a little upset. About ten minutes later he joined me in our room cuddled with me and made me feel better. We went out and had a good night. we were both mutually affectionate for the rest of the night. Then right as i shut the light of to go to bed he decides to bring it up. he's like "I just want to get this off my chest. I was iritated earlier by how amorous you were. I had just gotten home and I was trying to make myself dinner and you kept trying to grope me" Now i can't go to sleep. I didn't act any different today than i act on any other day. which means this is a problem in our relationship. He's irritated with me for being frisky and I'm irritated with him for being cold. I don't know what to do. Should I just stop being affectionate altogether? being affectionate is part of who i am.

moreResolved Question: Why is Obama's F.H.A. helping the rich buy luxury condos?
From:
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-08-13/manhattan-luxury-condos-embrace-federal-help-in-game-changer-for-sales.html
<<The Federal Housing Administration agreed in March to insure mortgages for apartments at the 98-unit Gramercy Park development, known as Tempo. That enables buyers to make a down payment of as little as 3.5 percent in a building where apartments range from $820,000 to $3 million.>>
Now, some simple calculus for you, folks. Buying an $820,000 property (that's the very cheapest of these luxury apartments) at 3.5% one will have to make a $5K payment (mortgage plus condo-fees) every month for 30 years:
http://www.mlcalc.com/#mortgage-820000-3.5-30-4.375-3000-1500-0.52-8-2010-none
Why is the Obama's Federal Housing Authority -- which can not even properly house all the poor eligible for the Section 8 assistance (http://www.ajc.com/news/atlanta/housing-crisis-reaches-full-589653.html ) -- busying itself with and tying their budget on people, who can afford to spend $5K/month on an apartment and are interested in living next to a pet spa?
If the housing market moves down only 3.5%, these new mortgages will be "underwater" -- the condo-owners will owe banks more, than the properties are worth. This is when people usually tend to "walk away" from the properties -- and is why a normal downpayment is at least 10% (usually -- 20%). When people do walk away, the FHA (read, the taxpayers) will be on the hook for the rest of the mortgages... And rich people will not shy from walking away at all (now that we no longer throw dead-beats into jail):
http://www.nakedcapitalism.com/2010/07/rich-defaulting-at-highest-rate.html
Is it fair to suspect, this is done to further destroy Capitalism? After the staggering success with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, who were told by the government to relax their rules:
http://www.nytimes.com/1999/09/30/business/fannie-mae-eases-credit-to-aid-mortgage-lending.html
to allow people buy unaffordable homes resulting in the housing bubble and the subsequent crisis of financial system:
http://www.ornery.org/essays/warwatch/2008-10-05-1.html
is the FHA now instructed to do a similar relaxation of rules to give Socialists another argument that "Capitalism does not work"?
Or is it simply a way to reward rich New York donors -- both the buyers and the sellers of these luxury condos -- for their support of the Democratic Party?
In a properly Free Market Capitalism, people who make a wrong bet -- such as choosing to build a luxury building, when the buyers want a normal one -- get punished by losing money. In Obama's CRONY Capitalism, the government helps them out -- at the taxpayers' expense...Correrafan! If you are referring to Bush's use of Haliburton, well, that did not start with him (with Clinton rather) nor end with him (Obama keeps awarding the company no-bid contracts).
But I don't recall anything like this thing on Bush's watch -- there is a completely new ground broken here, I think...
moreResolved Question: Advice Please for Dealing with my mom!?
So I moved back home a year and a half ago after graduate school for financial reasons and recently got engaged, my fiance and I both live with our parents and are currently house hunting.
I try to spend one night a week with my family and fiance, as I work 3 nights a week and frankly only see even my fiance once a week or so. My younger brother is out of the country for 3 years and I know it is not easy on my family, particularly my mother.
Tonight, after a long day of house hunting, my fiance and I decided to have dinner with his parents, which we frankly haven't done in months. My mother sent me a text message to see if we were eating with them and I told her that I wasn't sure as we had made plans with my fiance's parents. She replied it didn't matter either way and we should do what was best for us.
Anyways, about hours later she says she does mind and she's upset we're not coming and my brother is so far away. I replied that if she had just been honest that she wanted us to come and that it was important, we would have gone over their house. I really don't appreciate feeling bad and manipulated, or at fault bc my brother made choices that were good for him. I don't want to be insensitive, but clearly I am not a mind reader and not sure why she has such a difficult time with just being direct in her communication with me. This behavior is not a new development and especially being back home I'm feeling frustrated and 15. I left a life in another city which was not easy as all my friends are still there and have made only one good friend here that I try to see as well. I was lucky if I saw my parents once a month when I was out of state. I'm trying to make a life for myself and balance all the people that I need to make time for, advice please!
moreResolved Question: Which one do i write first?
I have a few story plots going on in my head, but two are really sticking out there
its a shame that two ideas that i love have hit me within such a small space of time, which is why i have had great difficulty with settling in to write one as my mind always starts to think of new developments of the other, and vice versa.
One of them is about a girl who inherits her mysterious great-aunt's estate all to find out that years ago she opened a locket and was trapped in a parallel world full of human-ish, powerful creatures, which i made up, most with immoral values. Three helped her get home. Now they find her, and try to protect her from the same evil her great-aunt experienced. And try to protect her from falling for someone who shouldn't love her back. There is WAY more to it than that, though.
The second is about a recovering journalist who gets a chance to participate in an experiment in a house with a large history of disappearances. He, and six others, go there only to get their bodies stolen and their minds and souls thrown into a kind of limbo whilst the creatures who have invaded their bodies wait for them to die, from the traps set up in the place. They find out how long this is been going on for, and how they are all connected.
They probably sound really stupid just watered down on here, but which one do you reckon i should write down first??
moreResolved Question: Is the new gender role reversal in parenting going to be good for kids?
As working fathers are losing their jobs at a much greater rate than working mothers and the number of stay at home dads is increasing, is it going to be better for the kids in the long run? Considering that studies show that children raised solely by either parent (in either divorce or parent death) show no difference in child development.
I do acknowledge that the ability to have either parent stay home is getting to be increasingly difficult.
moreResolved Question: Why are libs making SUBPRIME LOANS again? $1000 down? Low income familes? Fannie Mae?
Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority
Madison – After more than a year of not funding single family loans, the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA), Wisconsin’s leader in affordable home homeownership, re-entered the affordable home loan market today with the help of Fannie Mae.
...
we’re confident that the new product we’re offering, the WHEDA Fannie Mae Advantage, is going to meet this new reality as well as the expectations of the marketplace.”
Those expectations include an affordable home loan that will help more low and moderate income Wisconsin families become homeowners with very little cash out-of-pocket.

moreResolved Question: Is this a good answer to the Mormon question that was probably removed by Mormons?
No, intelligence has nothing to do with one's subjectivity to being brainwashed. If you understood Mormons' situations better you would see why they go along with the belief system even to the point of self hypnosis to try to convince selves to hang in there and try to make the best of it.
Mormons are conditioned into Mormonism as of birth. They are kept in a fairly controlled environment where they know no other way to survive. As they get old enough to pass certain tests in life, they are posed with certain counteracting subtle threats by their church.
Teens are not able to leave home. They know they will lose family acceptance and friends if they leave Mormonism. Young adults capable of moving and making new friends know they will lose support from parents to go to college and would be presented with a new and frightening world to adapt to (all alone) that they know nothing about. Young parents need as much help as they can get for child support, money and stability and do not stray so as to keep from being thrown into chaos while they have kids. Older parents have accumulated a lot of debt and have professional connections and networking entrenched with other Mormons to the extent that leaving their church would be like trying to transplant a vital organ. Due to debt and such problems, they risk losing inheritances from the next older generation if they leave before their parents die. But by the time they themselves are at their oldest, they are so conditioned to the LDS church that they cannot leave the comfort zone of this zombie life even if they wanted to-it is like addiction at that point of long term conditioning.
So you see, the cycle repeats itself and in each phase of development of an individual's capability of freely leaving, the LDS structure has a carefully plotted counteraction ready to head off the would-be apostate.

moreResolved Question: What's wrong with our government?
OK, Do you agree or disagree? SInce being elected Obama has made things worse. Nothing he said he would do while running has he kept his word to. This country is going down the drain. Government should let the banks and car dealers go bankrupt. They have no place owning businesses for one and they aren't bailing out the small companies. There is so much wasteful spending today. Like why do we need to help other countries when OUR homes are being foreclosed, and OUR people are losing thier jobs. Also we shouldn't be spending billions of dollars on the milatary because with the economy the way it is, no one will be here to fight for. I think they need to tighten lending on new home development when there are so many existing homes sitting empty. And quit paying all these Ceo's and managment so much money but yet laying off the workers who actually do all the hard work, start cutting the high priced jobs and leave the little people alone. Who I want to see run this country is a single mother that has worked 2 jobs just to survive. Because atleast she would know how to manage money to get the bills paid. No more rich people that don't have the slightest clue about how life really is for the majority of Americans!
