Resolved Question: how to modifiy mk1 Fiat punto 1.2?
hi i have a Fiat Punto 1.2 and want to modify it so that i can have better performance. I know that a 1.2 ltr engine is not a big deal and my opinion but i want to make it the fastest 1.2 punto on the road. i'd already installed a cone filter and a muffler. That way, people who just want a car that looks the part but dont care about the performance (and frankly cant afford one) could be catered to. Add a muffler and the body of a supercar to a ford fiesta engine for example. You know those boy racers who make their peugeots and corsas sound more sporty with deeper and louder exhausts etc? I have a 1.4 Peugeot 206 GLX. Well I've heard that fitting a new back box will decrease the performance of the car, as well as reducing the fuel economy? Is this true? Also, by putting an induction filter (£20 from argos, haha) or a new muffler make any difference? Whats the best way to achieve the sporty tone, with least negative impact on fuel economy and performance? thanks moreResolved Question: Kawasaki GT550 has two sponge airfilters do i need both?
I noitced that my kawasaki GT550 has two air filters. a larger foam one with a metal gauze behind it and a small foam one in the inlet. I was wandering if the smaller one is there to add better filtration, or some sort of muffler/ restriction. I was thinking perhaps by removing it i will get better airfow into the carbs and a bit more response/ performance lol... (i know we are talking about a GT550 lol)I was only thinking of removing the smaller one as it appears to be a mini version of the larger sponge filter. The KN idea sounds good, i wander if i can get one thatt drops in the airbox- as i dont want the carbs being sported only by the inlet rubbers. A friend of mine has a 2004 Fiat Punto 1.2 and he wants to modify it so that he will be having a better performance. I know that a 1.2 ltr engine is not a big deal and my opinion is to install a more powerful engine but he said that he doesn't want to spend so much money. He already installed a cone filter and a muffler. Is there anything else that he can do? Remember no too much expensive parts.
