Open Question: Mustang V6 with dual exhaust?

Hey, well I am looking to buy a mustang. I like the 1999-2004 body year. However, a lot of people want way over kelly blue book. For example GTs convertibles in that price range should be 6,700 with about 70 some k. Neway, I have come across a mustang convertible, but it's a v6. However, it has dual exhaust and performance air intake. Would the dual exhaust make the car have that mustang purr...if you know what I'm talking about, ppl with stangs should know. It has 55k on it and is selling for less than 6k, it's a 2k2...it also has the mach system and stripes at bottom of door. So first q, will it have that purr sound haha stangs have, and how is the v6 engine durability wise. Secondly, is this a good deal?If you KBB a GT mustang 2000 convertible, with premium wheels and leather with 70 some k, it comes out to around $6,700. Sorry but the car is 10 years old. If you blue book a v6 2002 mustang with 55k and it's a convertible.....it's around $5,700.00. Mustangs are losing value, the owners just don't realize it......cause they either like the car, or paid w/e when they got it. These things are not expensive new, what youd think they be 8 years used?.........Anyway on point, the mustang sound of the v6 with duals, yes the purr I was saying to was that of the GT. more

Open Question: Has anyone put any performance parts on an 09+ Honda Fit?

If I do get one the first thing I would want to do is add a cold air intake and possibly an exhaust. Is anyone driving a fit with only these upgraded parts? What have you done to your Honda Fit? How has it changed the car? Performance wise, mpg, ride, etc.? Thanks I like the civic but really like the idea of a hatchback. If the euro civic comes to the U.S. as a hatchback thats probably what I would get but since the civic is a sedan I am considering getting the Fit and adding some bolt on parts (Cold Air Intake, Exhaust, then if it needs it headers etc. I wouldn't get any part that would make the car require premium fuel). Anyone else done this? more

In the last 1 1/2 my life is so completely different, here is the timeline: August 2008--Got a great job that I have been wanting--very demanding December 2008--The marriage I thought was perfect turned out to be a lie. Husband confessed to having an affair and mistress being pregnant. March 2009--Started having problems with an employee April 2009--Mistress baby was born July 2009--Mistress started being around my kids August 2009--Personally sued and had to go to court numerous times September 2009--Physically abused by husband November 2009--Court proceeding.....well fight began for kids January 2010--Major problems at work--does NOT involve MY performance January 2010--Custody fight--court, mediator, and so on February 2010--Children can live with husband and shacked up mistress--she buys them new everything. March 2010--problems at work--not about my job performance I wanted a management-high demanding job. I got it and since with the separation and being a single parent. I hate it. I spend a lot of time at work for free. I can not get everything done anyday. And higher management does not support you for anything. I hate my life. I was always an advocate for a well-balanced life. I thought it was important to have a happy place. However, no place is happy for me. I wake up at 4:45 and the rat race begins to get me and the kids to school for 7. They are 3 and 5. I work from 7:15 unti 5:30. Most days I do not take a break because something is essential or important to someone. Everyone has a pressing problem. I leave work and the rat race begins again. It takes an hour in traffic to collect the kids. Then I get home feed the kids, give baths, do homework and get them to bed. It is exhausting. Not to mention having to deal with the husband and the mistress just adds to it. Some days I just want to scream. I truly wish I had someone to listen not for advice but comfort. I want to be happy but I hate my home life and my work life. They are both exhausting. But, I love my kids more than the world. Advice.....real advice....not move on or it will get better. However, can anyone deal with constant turmoil at home and work daily??????????????????? more

i have a 71 nova with a rebuilt 350 in it and i paid to get the racing pistons and crankshaft etc. put in it. Also it has high end headers and a new exhaust system. And i put a new EFI system and a turbo in it and got it chipped. It has street lockers and the racing gear ratios that a performance shop installed. I have this car to go fast, but is there other things i should upgrade before i have fun with it? more

I'm doing straight pipe from headers back on a built 350 in a 1985 c10i want to try and stay away from cherry bombs because i don't want the pop if i were to get cherry bombs i would turn them backwards anyways so it would defeat the purpose.and i feel that 3" is to wide of pipe i'm only pushing about 360 hp and i want to stay away from restriction the best i can.i was planning on 2 1/2 or 2 but i feel 2 is going to give to much back pressure and i'll lose power and it will also pop i'm sure. more

Resolved Question: 07 Grand Prix performance question, and parts?

i got a base Grand prix 3800 series III engine v6. 200hp NA Non S/C. how much horsepower do i need to get me times from 0-60 in 8.2sec and quarter mile in 16sec down to 0-60 of 7sec and lower and quarter mile 15sec and lower. some people have told me at least 40HP. if so what can i add besides a supercharger that is less Than $1000. what ive seen is a Jet-chip, Ported Exhaust Manifolds, and a down-pipe that makes about $500. is there anything else for a good price that's ass good as these or better. or something for a good price that can increase like 20 hp. i want to get at least 30 hp so i can get my times of 7sec 0-60 and quarter-mile of 15sec. thanks for the help. go Pontiacsoh and how much hp will each part give me more

i got a 5.0 1986 grand marquis. I am having a hard time looking for performance exhaust manifolds and exhaust system for it. I am purchasing this stuff in the next week or so but cannot seem to find the exhaust system that i want. I am redoing the whole car and making it a show car. I know that sounds cheesy but i relly like it and would like to get some nice sounding exhaust on it. I have the intake man, ign, any other things that i should put on it. I will probably be getting some injectors and some other stuff also. I have about 3K to put into the engine right now but just want it to sound good and have some snap to it. I will be putting in a Jasper Transmission. the car Is in MINT condition but just would like it to have that growl and that speed. another thing, does it matter what type of exhaust man i put on it. they should all bolt right on as long as i get one for a 5.0/302 right? more

Resolved Question: Motorcycle Exhaust System help...?

I want to get a better sound out of my bike but I don't want to buy a jet kit or a high price muffler and intake system... My question; Can I just remove all the filler from my stock muffler to get a deeper tone? I keep reading that if I don't get a jet kit while increasing my exhaust flow that I could damage valves, but that doesn't seem plausible considering that everything I am reading says that having a more open exhaust increases EGT (Exhaust Gas Temp), but common sense would tell you that "having a better air flow would cool it down right??" I'm not looking for a performance upgrade because I'm on a Hyosung GT250R and it's not like I'll get that much out of it... I just want a louder and little bit deeper tone, is that too much to ask without spending $800?My common sense would be... look at a radiator for a car... the more airflow, the cooler it gets. Same with an "air" cooled engine... Sooo, thinking of how an internal combustion engine works; cooler air in more volume enters through the intake, circulates through the carb, then through the cylinder and out through an exhaust valve. But, because more air is being used, the displacement of air to fuel is now distorted which means the air is less likely to be as hot for the energy distributed through each individual molecule would be broken down so that the heat from the energy expulsion could not reach its maximum potential. example: (Fuel = f, Air = a, and Energy = E ) Original Ratio: 1f : 1a : 2E, That so, 2E would be split up between f and a to create equality. but, New Ratio: 1f : 2a : 2E, which now means it is unequal so the distribution of exported heat would be (.6666) opposed to (1.0) as original. Do you catch my drift? I just want to know if there is any other factors... more

Hey.I do dances, and from some time i started smoking too. This question is directed mostly to dancers or anyone that does sports and smokes, not to anti smokers. I wanna know if smoking really affects my dancing. I heard a variety of answers, that smoke does exhaust you faster but not in dancing cause dancing doesn't tire you that much, that it just doesn't exhaust you, that it probably will exhaust you and that it would certainly will exhaust you. All these i gotten from dancing colleagues that smoke too. I'm not asking about the negative effects of smoking, just if smoking regularly decreases your physical performance. more

HP PARTS ONLY, LIKE YOU'D DO TO FORD OR GMC But for BMWs ALL HIGH PERFORMANCE PART AND MONEY IS AN ISSUE, With my Ford, My Honda, My Chevy i did clean upgrades that boosted my HP by at least 20 and i got better gas mileage, Costing me less than 350 per car. I mostly want performance out of the exhaust. But i would also like it to "growl" I want an exhaust system that is the least restrictive and adds the most horsepower/torque possible. more

Resolved Question: brand name exhaust modifying?

Ok I'm fixing my car to look VIP and I'm upgrading the exhaust. The thing is none of the brand name exhaust carries for my ES350. I was planning on getting the Greddy SE or Tanabe MT for the IS350 since the pipeline is similar to the ES and bring it to a muffler shop and adjust the pipes so it wraps around nicely. Also add a quad exhaust tip similar to to this person. http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_images/3/2262/301/30652650008_large.jpg Is this doable or it best just going to a muffler shop and custom my exhaust. The reason i wanted the brand names because i believe they give a bit of performance. what do ya guys think? more

Resolved Question: Aprilia RS 125 FP???

getting an RS 125 redistricted and they can (apparently) reach 100 mph. this is alot but i've seen some on youtube get between 110-120mph and seem to accelerated faster too. had could i do this, new exhaust, performance filter but what else............ already been dyno'd and gets around 30-33 bhp (6 months old - just run in) 100 is alot but i was going to take it to track day to race my mates cars. don't say get a car, had one. just want to know if its possible to get it faster.this could also help me get used to more power as gonna upgrade next year more

Resolved Question: installing true duals on a 1983 Honda CX 650 Custom motorcycle?

I own a 1983 Honda CX650 custom motorcycle. and i would like to install true dual exhaust on it. currently it has the stock exhaust with the cross over muffler. this is a V-twin motor too by the way. it does not sound to bad right now, i just want a little more roar. so my question is. mechanically, is it ok for this bike to have true duals? obviously there was a reason Honda installed the muffler. So is there going to be any mechanical issues i may have to deal with or change with the dual exhaust? How is this going to affect my valves? And total overall engine performance at idle and high RPM's. I am looking forward to your professional opinions and if you have any other suggestions please feel free to say them. thanks. more

This is my first car. I love the look and feel of it theres just a couple of things i would like to do to it. I like working on cars. I just want to have fun with this car, i know its not a v8 but i still want to have fun with this car. I want to put a cold air intake on it. Also, i want to put a performance ecu module in it. i would also like to put a magnaflow or flowmaster exhaust on it. I don't know if i should put headers on it or not. Resolved Question: MODS FOR A 02 CHEVY MONTE CARLO SS: LOW PRICE, BIG HP GAIN.?

i have a 2002 monte carlo ss that i want to sound and be more powerful. it has the naturally asp. 3.8 v6 engine. my first idea was to get a cold air intake for it for both the power gain and the performance sound but it is like $300 dollars for my car with only a 13.37 hp gain. if the intake was less cost, i would probably do it. i am currently thinking about these mods other than the intake: -a stage 2 supercharger that i found online only $250 for a 15-30 hp gain (sounds like a good deal!) -a performance chip or some small upgrading to the EDU, not sure which one i want yet, gimme some ideas for these if you have any. -maybe something with the exhaust, mainly for sound purposes but also hp. probably just mufflers or something. i have no clue for this mod. there are so many different kinds of mufflers and i don't know which will sound best on my car. PLEASE gimme suggestions for this mod. i want it to sound either like a tuner, higher pitched, evo kinda sound or i want the deep, muscle car sound. -and, maybe rims a lil later, i could use some suggestions on what ones will look good on my car. i want either 16s or low priced 17s. and i guess thats all i can think of. please gimme suggestions on all of these mods and PLEASE feel free to gimme some more ideas of cheap ways i can get some more power.
