Open Question: Am I spoilt?? Please answer?
I'm 13 years old and my parents say I'm spoilt, here is what I do: 1) I have one horse riding lesson a week - an hours length. 2) I empty and load the dishwasher every other night. 3) I live in an ordinary/small house. 4) I'm hard-working at school, and get the highest grades in my class. 5) I go to a public school. 6) I do all my homework on time and to the best quality. 7) I have an I-pad although it took a lot of bribery on my birthday, and I had to pay half towards it. 8) I sometimes get £5 a week. 9) I have a cheap phone. 10) I have an i-pod. 11) I have a half-hour guitar lesson. So, okay, I think I am so blessed to have horse riding lessons, and an I-pad. And my parents think it is a big deal just to take me to my horse-riding lessons - and they call me spoilt! What do you think? Of course I am very lucky compared to people in third world countries, but... Some people have everything they want without lifting a finger, go to private schools, top education, can demand things at will. What are you opinions? Thanks. moreResolved Question: how much do you spend monthly on utilities in your home if you have a family?

My home warranty company will be replacing my dishwasher, with one of these three models: Hot Point: HDA2100VCC Amana ADB1000AWB Whirlpool DU1010XTXB The first 2 are at no additional charge, and the third is $27 extra. I'm trying (and kind of failing) to find any kind of reviews, objective evaluations, et cetera comparing those 3 models. In fact, I'm having trouble finding much information at all on anything other than the last one. In particular: I want a model that's as water-efficient as practical (I live in a desert...) I want a model with a hard food disposer and/or a soil sensor, so my dishes will actually get clean and, of course, I want one that works. Anyone know of any particular reason to chose one of these over the others? The available cash settlement is $277. I don't think I could get anything better, installed, for anything like that little. And I can't afford to spend much more. They're low-end dishwashers, but so is the rather ancient one that they'll be replacing. moreResolved Question: Why is America’s poverty class richer than the average non-poor European?
The following is from the June 2004 Swedish Timbro Institute study, http://www.timbro.se/bokhandel/pdf/91756… “Poverty is a highly relative concept. As we saw in the preceding section, for example, 40 per cent of all Swedish households would rank among low-income households in the USA, and an even greater number in the poorer European countries would be classed as low income earnings by the American definition.” “What does it mean to be poor in the USA? A long period of high growth has made the USA far and away the world’s richest region. For several centuries Europe led the world in terms of prosperity and progress. As little as a hundred years ago, much of the American continent was virgin wilderness. Today, a hundred years later, the USA has completely overtaken Europe to become the unrivalled leader of the world economy. Most Americans have a standard of living which the majority of Europeans will never come any where near. The really prosperous American regions have nearly twice the affluence of Europe. It is worth reminding ourselves what this means. In these regions the average American can get exactly twice as much of everything as the average European. Which goes to show the importance of an economic policy to stimulate growth.” moreVoting Question: Question about installation of arc-fault breakers and neutral wire?
After reading about a recent surge in kitchen fires due to faulty appliances (Consumer Rreports), I'd like to install arc-fault breakers. But when I looked into the breaker box, the wire to the dishwasher (my first candidate) was not a dedicated 2 conductor cable (plus ground) but was instead part of a 3 conductor cable with the other phase used for a different appliance. The arc-fault breaker is made to be in series with BOTH the hot and neutral wire, just as a GFI unit is. It is supposed to listen for arcs on both wires. Or perhaps it compares the two. I do know it won't work without the neutral connection. I'm not sure doubling up like this is allowed. But even if it is, doesn't that prevent me from installing an arc-fault breaker as that needs a dedicated neutral wire ?? Yes, I'm not an electrician, but I am an electrical engineer, and I've found that knowing what is going on is a big advantage when hiring an electrician.hutm: I suspected that was not to code. So the electrician saved a few dollars on wire, and now I have to rewire the whole thing. moreResolved Question: My mom is saying shes going to send me to a mental hospital?

Throughout Central Florida there is a guy named Sam, infamous for selling his appliances in commercials and infomercials. He has gained quite a following with his signature exclamation, "I love appliances!", and his prowess at selling features of the appliances like white porcelain or rubber wheels. Indeed, his commercials can be found on popular online video sites, and even a series of parodies has been created! Obviously, Sam gets very excited about appliances. He wants to offer the best prices (never retail!) over the competition. He needs your help in comparing the prices. The Problem: Given the price of a model of appliance, determine whether it is cheaper than full retail price. Input: Input will begin with a single, positive integer, n, on a line by itself, representing the number of appliance types to check. Each appliance type will start with the name of the appliance (a single word of at most 20 letters) followed by the retail price in whole dollars, separated by a single space. The next line will contain a positive integer, m, representing the number of appliance models within the current appliance type. The following m lines will each contain a price of that model. Output: For each appliance type, output a line reading "Appliance g:" where g is the name of the appliance type exactly as given in the input. Then for each model of that appliance type, determine how its price compares to the retail price. If the model price is less than the retail price, then output the line "I love appliances!" If the model price is instead greater than retail, output the line "You paid too much!", and if it is exactly equal to retail, output "Wakkie Nu Nu!" The output for each appliance type should be followed by a blank line. Sample Input: 3 Dishwashers 100 2 95 125 Dryers 135 2 150 100 Microwaves 125 1 125 Sample Output: Appliance Dishwashers: I love appliances! You paid too much! Appliance Dryers: You paid too much! Of course not! Their mission is to teach our kids what a rotten country America is, which is why their union gives 95% of their political contributions to socialists -- I mean demcrats. I'm 15 years old, living with my parents, 2 little brothers, sister, brother-in-law, and my 7 month old nephew. I have been getting in trouble for everything I do lately, If I don't do something right, like forget to unload the dishwasher, or something along those lines, I get in trouble. I understand that a lot of the times I get in trouble, it's my fault, but I'm tired of getting in trouble for the simple little things, like not wanting to clean my brother's room. I understand why I would get in trouble for not cleaning my own room, by why should I have to clean their room? Also, they get to do everything they want, and when they do get in trouble, all they get is half a minute in time out, and they would just go and do it again. If that were me, I'd get my phone taken, yelled at, and probably grounded (even though I never go anywhere). And, my parents are always comparing me to my super perfect sister. Earlier, I was sitting at the computer while they were in the living room talking about how much better my sister acted than me. I was right there. I could hear everything, and they knew it! I just went down to my room and started crying. I'm tired of getting treated this way. I have asked my mom if I could go live with my grandparents before because of how miserable I am here, but she obviously said no. I would do anything to go live with them. I'm not exactly sure I can live here much longer without snapping. I hate it here, and I'm almost to the point where I hate my own parents. I can't do this longer. Maybe if I become a better daughter, they will love me? I'm pretty dang sure they don't.. And if they do, then they don't show it AT ALL. How can I become a better daughter? moreResolved Question: hey guys i really need some help !?

Okay hair history... WAS a lovely salon full head highlighted hair.. had highlights done for about a year (going roughly 4 times) SO i was a lovely multi tonal blonde (My natural is dirty dishwasher blonde lol ) then i moved house.. went to new hair dresser and asked for an all over blonde colour, To this day i still wonder why but she fcking bleached me! (Hairs been shite condition since compared to what it was..but i was lazy on conditioning it tbh) but i put up with the yellow catastrophe, and asked her to change the blonde to an ash-ier shade, which turned out beautiful! And i loved it, went back to get my roots done, Dont know why again, but she put in a full colour, not what i asked and it was a different colour again?? Didnt like it, went back and told her to do me a brown colour, she did that, but my hair is porous so the browny colour never stayed in the light it was still very blonde so i decided myself i wanted to go purple. XXL Live # 87 mystic violet I Know stupid, i loved it actually but now im sick of it and it faded too fast for my liking.. that was like around mid septemer i died it.. so its now november? last weekend (Halloween ) i stripped it using colour B4 Considering i didnt use too much heat irons etc on my died hair the colour lifted okay! its a gingery red brown colour, more of a faded red then ginger id say.. Now on the bottom of my hair i used a highlighting kit.. just to see how it turned out but it went 80% gingery and the roots and ends and some bits in the middle went blonde Condition of it aint too bad at the moment soft to the touch actually! so im wondering Should i bleach it to lift it so i can dye it blonde? OR go hair dressers and get highlights again and do it gradually? Or strip it again and see what colour it comes out then? Apparently u can use colour B4 up to 3 times? btw im aware reds impossible to get out and sometimes even bleach wont lift but i dont think mines that bad! I live with my boyfriend and we have been dating for 5 years. I work at home 30 hours a week and he works outside the home for 40 hours a week. I grew up in a house with a stay at home mom and a dad that worked 40 plus hours a week but he would still help around the house. Anyway, my boyfriend works from 3 to 11 and i work from 4-9 weeknights and 10-2 on saturdays. So my boyfriend comes home last night and complains nothing is ready to eat at 11 when he comes home and the laundry wasn't done, keep in mind i work on the phone and cant go on break to do laundry so to be nice (because we established laundry was his responsibility) i did laundry after work. The only thing i didnt do was fold and he had told me his friends where coming over so i didnt want to sit and fold laundry when we had people over i told him i would do it later. He says oh because you have been busy all day wow do you wanna tidy up a bit my friends are coming over. No offer of help whatsoever. My house is always clean, there may be some stuff lying around but even if its his stuff its my fault. there's no help cleaning only well i work 40 hours a week if i worked as little as you i would be cleaning alot and the house would always be nice. then today i said i have to do groceries but i also have to go to the drycleaner and i dont want to walk 20 minutes to get there with a huge comforter can I use your car tomorrow (i never ask to use his car but its for groceries and to do other errands). he said ok but then he said just do groceries today your not doing anything anyway and your just going to want to sleep in tomorrow because your so tierd from your 40 hour a week job. You are constantly b****ing about anything you have to do you are so annoying. all i did was ask to borrow his car so i could do groceries and go to the dry cleaners like he said he was going to on monday but im annoying? How do i deal with this no help around the house thing? he complains that i do nothing but he doesnt do ANYTHING and things he can compain about the dishes not being done or me not making him breakfast or making him his lunch for work!?!? and now, im taking his dishes and putting them in the dishwasher for him while he goes back and sits on the couch and doesnt do anything because yet again 40 hours compared to 30. On the weekends hes on the couch from friday night to sunday night while i'm cooking and cleaning. I dont mean to sound annoying or like I'm bitching but I don't know, is this the way it's supposed to be and im supposed to just take it? I try to explain to him it should be equal but he says I dont realize how blessed i am, i dont have to pay rent i just have to pay groceries and my loan and im happy about that but I dont know. Am I selfish? What should I say to Him? moreResolved Question: Is it being anal or ocd to ask your roommates to put their dirty dishes in the sink when they are done?
I recently moved in with my best friend and her boyfriend. They are angels compared to previous roommates. As am I to them. All I asked was that dishes be put in the sink or dishwasher when they leave the area they were in or leave the house. Also that food be rinsed off if they were to be left in the sink. I don't leave my things lying around the kitchen or living room for them to contend with because it would be rude and I expect the same courtesy. We are three adults, all about 22. I don't care how their room or bathroom looks because that is their space. The living room is communal though. I don't want to sit down to watch tv with a bowl of old spaghettios staring me in the face. If it was a once in a while thing it wouldn't bother me. I would just shrug it off and pick it up. However it is apparent that it is a habit. She wakes up early to have time to herself and get ready for work at her leisure so I know she has time to do something that takes maybe five seconds. I have sat down with my friend and politely asked that she take care to consider that other people use the living room and things like that bother me. I don't even care if they don't wash the dishes in the sink. I also came home to find the lint roller on the kitchen counter. I just don't like the idea of cat hair and lint sitting where I prepare food. They have a desk, a bar, two end tables, and a coffee table to put things like that on. The only actual things in the living room that are mine are the coffee table and my dvds. They don't even used coasters like I asked. I got really frustrated when I came home to the mess. There was a bag of trash by the door on the carpet that someone sat there two days ago, a bowl of spaggetios on the table with food left in it, the tv was on, the cat food scoop was left on the counter by the stove right next to the can opener and the lint roller was on the counter as well. So I sent messages with a pic of the things lying around saying I don't mind picking things up and I understand that you are trying to do better but you need to know these things bug me and I do my best to look out for you guys so I expect the same. I just know what a slippery slope it can be to let things like this go if they bother you. So I did my best to be forward and yes the message may have come across a little passive aggressive but I didn't mean it that way and I told her. I knew if I waited until she got home I would be in bed and the issue wouldn't have been addressed. She called me passive aggressive and said my ocd was driving her bat sh**. She said the things I pointed out weren't a big deal and she didn't want to have to constantly wonder if she was being considerate to me. I felt that last statement was pretty harsh and selfish. I had to get rid of my cat because he was tearing their things up. Once he was gone she kept telling her cat playfully that is was so nice now that he wasn't there to bother her. I have been really depressed and upset about having to get rid of my cat. Enough with the rant. I'm getting off subject. Should I have just let those things go even though they made me uncomfortable? I do a lot of things her way and try to stay out of the way but I feel like I need to set some boundaries of my own.We are renting an apartment. Everything is split three ways.Like I said, I don't mind doing the dishes. In fact I do them most of the time anyway by hand. When they leave dishes in the dishwasher for days I put those up too. If I don't put them up they keep leaving them in the sink, rise them out, and put food in the garbage disposal or trash can. I've already asked them several times to at least put their dishes in the sink. I didn't throw a fit. I just reminded her again and pointed out that it's continuing to not happen. :(Correction: If I don't put them up they keep leaving them in the sink.*All I ask is that they put them in the sink, rise them out, and put food in the garbage disposal or trash can.**(derp)I'm not upset that they leave them in the sink. I'm upset that my roommate continuously leaves her dirty bowls and plates in the living room and her boyfriend or i have to pick it up. It grosses me out and I've asked her politely several times already not to do it. All I did was bring it to her attention and she blew up on me and said I was ocd and driving her batshit. I just don't want to be her maid and I would like her to remember that there are other people that use the living room that don't want to deal with her dirty dishes. I just don't understand how hard it is to put your dish in the sink and rinse it out when you are done. Besides all that she also said that I was being ridiculous and those things shouldn't matter when she snapped at me for putting lunch meat and sandwich cheese in the same drawer because that's not the way her mother does it. I'm tired of being run over by her. I have feelings and preferences too. moreResolved Question: Is it normal to feel depressed after losing a job?
I have worked as a dishwasher at a restaurant for a little over a year. I felt I did my job correctly and I never showed up late, always on time. There is 4 dishwashers on the list, 2 of those have been there as long as I have, 1 has been there for a few months and 1 they JUST hired, probably over the weekend. Before I started college, I gave my work 12 days notice and said I can still work weekends, when I got my schedule right before school started, my hours were cut from approximately 20 to 25 hours down to 5. Rumor that went around (according to an assistant manager) that I took a roofing job and needed Friday and Saturday off for it. Some bad things have gone on too, such as servers disrespecting me for not helping them out, when I'm the only dishwasher on board compared to about 4 to 7 servers when I'm already busy up to my neck in work as it is, on top of the cook and I seeing the servers just typing away on their phones like it's their job to do that. The cook has confronted them about that and the servers just ignored him Managers have seen what was going on and I have even reported the activity and the managers never did anything about it. I complained to corporate (maybe a mistake, I don't know) and told them the situation since my managers wouldn't do anything about it. The stuff at work prior to calling still occured. As of recent months when I came in to work, I always find loads and loads of work for me to do and it's not right for it to be that way all the time. I did happen to get evidence of that. When I looked at the schedule this past Sunday, my name was not on it and no one could explain why. I tried seeing the General Manger when I got out of my first class, but he left work early and I had just missed him by 10 minutes. The shift that I had for the last month was given to another dishwasher. Right now I have been feeling kind of depressed, probably haven't felt the full effects yet of losing my job. My grades have also been slipping a little bit because of it, even though it's only been almost two days, I just don't care about much anymore because I lost my source of income and my parents give me a hard time about jobs as it is. I am also 21 years old and first year in college. I have also had a history of depression in 2009, cut myself and tried to kill myself.I also put it in writing as to what days I go to school and what days I can work, which was weekends. moreResolved Question: I am starting to resent my wife!?
I need help? Am i a bad father, person, husband?! My wife is driving me nuts. Prior to her working she wouldnt do much around the house. She would take naps and watch our only son. I would come home to start and fold laundry. Empty the trash, dishwasher, mop, sweep etc. I brought it up to her but she would be too tired or busy to do anything. Now she has a job but now all chores get put on the back burnrers. Its ok i guess since we are both working but a dirty house drives me nuts. Was i to hard in the past? I tried to devise a chore plan but we cant stick to it. Im horrible sometimes and leave an area messy but im trying. I clean up after her as well. We constantly fight it seems, every little thing seems to have some sort of attitue behind it. Or it turns into comparing like my day was harder then yours and heres why. Im probally guilty of it too but it seems anything and everthing she says is disrespectful to me in some shape or form. The other day she pissed me off sooo much i completely snapped which was not normal of me. The dog was hyper and i said he just wants to be part of the family as he was jumping near her. She yelled what in a loud obnoxious voice which i suppose was ok since she was in another room. I calmly said nevermind and she replied figures! I was so mad! I cursed and yelled. We rarely have sex anymore, i basically stopped iniating it and a month went by with no hint of romance or sex. :(. I have a son who i love but wifey pushes me away not from him, but sometimes i just want out. Out as in away from her. nightime we sonetimes sleep in seperate rooms because i toss and turn alot. I have sleep issues and have a hard time falling asleep. When she goes in the other room i get depressed. I sometimes randomly cry For a second...strange, its usually triggerred by something random or somethung borderline deppressing.... Help! I feel like i use to be a calm rational type of guy but now im so high strung im going nut moreResolved Question: Is working in a fast-paced and busy restaurant the best litmus test for a food-service employee?
To understand my question better: Many years ago, I lasted only one day as a dishwasher at such a restaurant because I was too slow. However after that experience, I landed the same job for dining services at a large college... and have been working there for over 10 years! My co-worker there, a waiter, tried his same job at a local fast-paced restaurant but got fired after working one day. Our bartender tried the same at a different restaurant and he was also a "one-day wonder." That really made him humble. However, we had a catering manager land the job of general manager of a local busy restaurant - and she's doing well at it for over a year now. The Executive Chef in our dining service had five years experience as a sous chef in a busy restaurant, so I know he had no problems there. I have only come to a conclusion that restaurant work is not for everyone in the food-service industry. But is restaurants, those that are really fast-paced and busy, the best litmus test to know if an employee can really cut it in food-service? Its best if a restaurant manager or a chef who have worked in other environments (like in a college dining service or an independent catering service) that they could compare it to, can best answer this question. moreResolved Question: Better jobs than dishwasher?
I am currently working part-time afternoons in dining services for a local college as a dishwasher. After 10 years of this experience, I want to move on from this job if I could find something better. Over the years, the kitchen manager gave me a chance at being a food server, salad bar attendant, a waiter, cashier, and even a catering steward, but never felt comfortable or even good at any of those jobs when I tried them out. To help supplement my income I landed a part-time morning custodial job for a small museum. I have been at this job for five years. I actually liked this job since working under pressure is rare. And I hope to keep this job and look for a new job to replace the dishwashing one. I'm kind of at a loss of what other types of jobs I should be looking for when I do my job searching. I know getting the custodial job is a step in the right direction of being a better job compared to dishwashing. But what other jobs should I apply for (or may qualify for in the eyes of a hiring manager) based on my work experience that I just mentioned? moreResolved Question: Is blanco a good brand? compared to miele?
At the moment where I live, our kitchen facilities like coffee machine, oven, dishwasher are all from miele, while the place we are moving to is all from blanco. Just curious I guess. moreResolved Question: Who else has this experience?
Working in the food service industry. I work in a nursing home kitchen as a dishwasher and cart delivery person. I also have to do a lot of thankless grunt work. Our lead cook is just plain mean and arrogant and nobody likes him. Why should he be so angry, he's got an easy job compared to people like myself. All he has to worry about is preparing the food and serving it, while I have to take a lot of crap from him and the nurses. What gives him and other lead cooks anywhere (most places has a stern, arrogant lead cooks in my experience) the right to downgrade me, especially when I work harder than him? moreResolved Question: My dad and step mum are driving me crazy?
My parents are separated - I live with my dad and step mum full time while my 2 sisters live a week with our dad then a week with our mum. I have a c****y job that gives me 1 shift (2 if I'm lucky) a week, and last semester I was only at university 2 days a week. I'm on holidays at the moment, and when I go back to university in a few weeks I'll only be there 2 days a week again. So I'm home a fair bit (especially during the week). I believe I do a fair bit around the house - I cook dinner at least once a week, I wash dishes, I do laundry, I fold laundry, I vaccuum, I clean our family bathroom, I pack up my younger siblings toys if they've been left lying around, I unstack the dishwasher, etc - and I do a lot of these every day. Compare this to my sister (who is in her first year of TAFE) who does absolutely nothing around the house and she is home almost as much as me. Quite often, my dad will leave a note with things he wants done and I always end up doing everything on it. My dad says that he and my step mum see and know that I do a lot around the house and that they appreciate it, but I always seem to be the one blamed if something isn't done or is done wrong. My step mum, especially, does this to me. And it drives me crazy - I do way more around the house than my sister and she isn't even told to pull her weight or anything. Just tonight, I washed the dishes after dinner. We had rice, so there was a lot sitting in the bottom of the sink at the end, so I pulled the plug and while I was waiting for the sink to drain (and I could clean out all the rubbish) I went and turned my computer on so it could start up by the time I was finished. I went back into the kitchen (where the sink is still draining) and my step mum asks me if I did the dishes. I said I did and she turns around and says "well can you clean the c**p out when you're finished". I said I was waiting for the sink to drain because there's no point trying to clean it with all the soap suds in there. She pretty much ignored me and brushed my comment off. She does things like this all the time and it really gets on my nerves. Whenever my dad notices I've done something, he thanks me and he rarely has a go at me about things I'm doing around the house. It's not like I'm looking for praise or acknowledgement or anything when I do things around the house - I just don't want my dad and (especially) my step mum to have a go at me when I'm clearly not finished whatever I'm doing. Honestly, I sometimes just feel like telling them to do it themselves because I'm sick of the way I'm treated. What can I say to my dad and step mum so that they'll understand I actually do a lot and that I don't appreciate them having a go at me for what I'm doing?A few people have said to get a new job/move out - I am trying to do both of these, but of course it is very difficult. I cannot get a full time job because I have 1 semester of university left, and my boyfriend and I are saving to move out. Both of these things take time and are not really easy solutions. moreResolved Question: Help with Apartment info?
Tomorrow 2 friends and I are checking out an apartment in downtown Chicago, and online it said the apartment had the following attributes: 3 Bedrooms 2 Baths (1 bed 1 bath being the master bedroom) Air Conditioning, Carpeting, Disability Access, Dishwasher, Disposal, Large Closets, Microwave, Refrigerator, Washer/Dryer in Unit, Yard The apartment itself is divided up nicely, and has an amazing view. It is 1385 Sq-ft. and the asking price for it is $2,700. we will each have to pay $900/month for it since it will be me and 2 friends renting it out. We each average about $700-$1000. What I'm asking is the apartment spacious enough for us 3, how is the price compared to its features and location, and how much it would cost to furnish the apartment, Is it a good sized apartment? Additional Details: The apartment is 1385 Sq-ft. $2,700/month for the apartment, and the price is negotiable. We average $700-$1000/week each so we can cover the rent and expenses within 2 weeks. The price is negotiable because there are several apartments that fit the same description and the price range is $2,520 - $2,946 a month. And for the yard, I'm not sure. I have not seen the apartment yet, but I'm guessing that it is either a private yard for that floor, or for a group of apartments on that side of the building. All 3 of us have jobs, we average about $850/week each, which is about $2,550/week between the 3 of us. moreResolved Question: Help. Apartment questions?

I'm Male, 22, 6' even, 200 pounds. I wake at 8am and have a bowl of Special K with fat free skim milk and a cup of Green tea (no sugar) afterwords. By 9:30 I begin my daily walk of 5 miles (10,000 steps using the pedometer on my phone) doing some interval training during that time as well (power walking to slower fast pace walk..no jogging because I hurt my ankle) and usually get through that with in 1 & 1/2 hours. Once i'm back I drink plenty of water (I have an old Simply Orange container I use that holds 59 Oz that I refill at least a couple of times a day)...after that I swim for 1 hour, it's not a big pool so I can't really do laps but I do my best to keep my heart beat up by swimming back and forth, end to end...following that, I eat a 300 calorie meal from Lean Cuisine and I cut up a tomato also for lunch, drinking water and have another cup of Green Tea. After that I either go to work (Dishwasher) or hang around the house until about 6pm when I eat a Southwest Salad from McDonalds with half of the southwest dressing, I know a lot of folks go against Fast food, but it's really convenient and only around 370 Cals with half dressing and grilled chicken, plus it tastes fantastic even when I don't use the dressing, I've been eating them for a while and still enjoy them. I don't plan on eating these same things everyday but it's been good to train my body to eat smaller/healthier meals until I get in the habit of cooking all of my meals myself. In between I'll eat Cantaloupe, apple, banana, carrots and drink water. I'm not looking to get a 6 pack or be "ripped" I'd just enjoy losing some of this fat and man boobs (I'm pretty sure it's not Gynecomastia), out of my 200 pounds, around 50 of them are fat, so I figure maybe I need to shoot for 20-30 pounds? My middle area is 43" After doing a lot of research over the net, I would believe that this is a decent plan, but I've got to point to where I'd like to ask for other opinions to compare. I have a cheap dishwasher in my apartment that doesn't clean too well compared to the one at my parents' house. Since my apartment complex is only about 4-5 years old, I'm guessing that it still should be in decent shape. I remember last time I used it, there was a lot of really small bubbles on the silverware (am I using too much soap?) and it didn't clean all the stains off the dishes. Do you guys have any suggestions as to how we can better use the dishwasher? (We currently wash it all by hand and use the dishwasher as a drying rack). moreResolved Question: How do I get my housemate to start cleaning up after himself more?
Incoming wall of text, please read, I feel my situation is different from others. I am a 21 year old white, 150lb male living in a house with only 1 other roommate who is a 22 yr old large 350 lb black man. We do not share food or dishes. We share the essentials (bathroom, living room, kitchen) We've been living together for 9 months now and his cleanliness has slowly been getting worse and worse. There is a constant pile of his dishes on one side of the sink that will never go away and a mess in the living room consisting of more dishes, food, cans, beer and an ashy hookah. I don't have the luxury of other roommates to gather together against him. I have asked him in the past to try and clean up after himself better. Sometimes he will half ass clean, doing half the dishes and never unloading the dishwasher and other times he does nothing. I have been the one to take out the trash every week, not once has he done it on his own. Due to a sexual battery charge he received 2 years ago he went to jail for some time and is now going back to jail for not completing required community service every Sunday at 6pm to Tuesday at 6pm (48 hrs) because he is currently working at Pizza Hut he does not go full time. I have asked him before to at the very least do his dishes before he leaves for jail every week so the dishes do not sit for another 48 hrs. But he never manages to "get around to it" or "have the energy to" and I am left with a kitchen that begins to smell like festering molding food. It was stated at the beginning of the year that there would be no smoking cigarettes in the house but he has recently started smoking in his room and I don't think he realizes it still stinks up the entire house. I won't even fully describe his room compared to mine as I know its his room but its a landfill of dirty clothes and dishes compared to my clean room. I try to be a good example and am always doing my dishes and keeping all the communal areas clean and free of my mess, any mess found outside my room belongs to him. How can I get this man to grow up and start cleaning after himself at LEAST once a week before he leaves for jail? I'm so sick of seeing his messes while he's gone at jail. I've thought about just moving all his shit into his room/bed while hes gone but this guy weighing 200lbs more than me has already in the past gotten very close to physical with me attempting to get me "go outside" and start things. I already have plans to move out a the end of summer but I just want his constant messes to end. Please help. moreVoting Question: Is 626 square feet small for a 1bedroom in NYC?

We have been seeing each other 2.5 yrs. He wants everything to be totally equal. Well I had to move and he helped another guy I know disassemble the furniture before the movers came. The other guy (who is married to my friend) just volunteered, I didn't even have to ask him. But my bf (who is supposed to love me) wants pay back (immediately). So later that day (keep in mind we were all so tired by the end of the day) he wanted me to sew a hole in his jeans. I had just fed everyone (I have 2 kids) including him and was loading the dishwasher when he asked. I asked him if he could wait 15-20 mins while I loaded the dish washer and cleaned the kitchen. After about 18 mins he jumped up and said he had to go...that he couldn't wait any longer. He's been holding a grudge against me ever since. So when I actually did have a flat tire, he refused to come help me because of the hole in the pants incident (the hole was smaller than a dime). When I offered to sew it about a few days later he wouldn't let me. He said he asked another female to sew it. Similarly, one day I took the day off to go to traffic court. I was done by 12 noon so I called him to see if we could spend time together. He said he was busy, I was not upset, not a big deal. About 30 mins later he sent me a text asking me to come over. But by that time I remembered I was expecting a UPS package and had to wait at home for it. He got upset because I wouldn't drop everything for him. Did I mention that he's very cheap too? I'm worried about my son. He is very smart in school, he gets great grades often without even studying the material but sometimes he gets stuck on a new concept the teacher introduces, and sometimes he just doesn't pay attention and he will get a bad grade due to that. My husband and I encourage him to play one team sport every year. This year, he chose soccer and it's painful to watch how uncoordinated that he is. He can't kick the ball around the cone obstacle and he runs with his hands stiffly held by his chest and he won't open out his stride, The other lads, even the smaller ones, dust him in running and he is very tall with long legs. He sucks his thumb as a habit. It's concerning because he will indeed need braces to correct his overbite caused ny the thumb sucking over the years. The other boys his age seem to be into american football and basketball and rough games but my son is scared of american football and basketball and he prefers to play video games or play chess or computers. I'm glad he enjoys chess and shows talent on computers, and before I sound like I am just comparing him to other boys his age (what parent doesn't at some point when they are worried about their child's development?) let me add these other issues that raise flags: -He can't do simple chores like take out the trash or unload dishwasher because he is uncoordinated and he tends to break things and spill things unintentionally -He talks about things that make sense to him, but we don't really understand what he is talking about. For instance, he will play a video game and invent an imaginary world or scenario about it and talk to us about it for an hour or so it's hard to follow. -He tends to urinate all over the sides of the toilet, I think he finds it hard to focus on aiming in the toilet bowl -He still needs help unwrapping things like cheese sticks or ice pops. Sometimes his younger sister will help him with these things or we do -He can't tie his shoes. His younger sister also helps him tie his shoes -When he holds something, he holds it as if his hand is a claw with a weak grip and he seems perpetually nervous even though we have a calm home and a normal life. Most things are done for him, but we do expect him to pick up after himself I'm frazzled right now, and I could add much more, but I know this is long already and I'm just a concerned parent who wants to know if anyone else's kid had or has symptoms like this. The doctor says he is a normal boy, but I am seeing and feeling otherwise. What kind of mental challenges (if any) can be subtle and manifest like this? We find it hard to be firm with him when he misbehaves because we don't know if he is challenged and can't help it. I'm in college, and there is an apartment set up near by that is looking pretty good, but right now i'm living in the dorms, and i'm wanting to compare how much i shell out now, to how much i'd shell out for the apartment. They are 4 bedroom 4 bathroom apartments, all utilities included, (water, sewer, cable, internet, trash) except electric, 499 a month. The electric gets divided by the 4 people equally. The whole 4 bedroom suite has 1260 sq. ft. A living room, dining room and kitchen, a full refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, garbage disposal, and laundry included. It is also fully furnished. I'm not sure, but i figure my fit for the food bill would come out to probably 175 per month, and electricity between 50 and 80. Is there any other necessities that might qualify under a monthly payment amount? Right now it sits at about 754 a month, 9048 a year, which is how long each lease is for. For the record I have done all of it by hand, not because I'm old, but because we lived off grid in the mountains for some time. I cook good food and I lug it back from the co-op or farmer's market. I buy bulk and cook fresh, local, organic food. I don't own a dishwasher and sold the microwave because I thought it inspired laziness. I posted that question to get responses hoping to see people on here who took pride in what they do and I saw more than expected. It makes me happy to see people taking pride in what they do, even if it isn't what they want to do. I know I certainly didn't want to be a single dad going to school while providing for a child, but it is the hand I was dealt and I will do the best I can with it. I agree with a lot of the responses about feminism making housewifery a job to be treated with disdain. I have always though it was one of the most honorable jobs a person could have. It's just a shame how often it is looked down on today. I realize that the earlier post came off as angry, I was after reading some posts that were nothing but complaining and comparing their lives to slavery while giving the impression that men spend their days at work goofing off while they're stuck at home with the drudge work and are then required to put out when he gets home. If anything that goes both ways. I spent years with my ex simply because I had made a commitment and I owed it to both myself and her to honor my commitment and to our child to keep the home together for her sake. I guarantee you that I did plenty of putting out as an obligation even after the last shred of what had attracted me to her was gone. She finally left me because I ended up on disability with all of my savings spent and in debt as far as I could go. Funny that when it is just me and the kid I'm working with a positive budget. So hearing people refer to women like slaves and whores kinda hit a nerve after being treated like a wallet with a penis for years and then discarded when the former ran dry. moreResolved Question: My own kids hate my wife and I because we're dirt poor. What should I do?
I flip burgers at the local burger joint and my wife is a dishwasher. Our 4 kids have started to notice that we're pretty poor and struggling and they're angry at us for it. Our kids really like my younger sister (their aunt) who is rich. She and her fiance are Harvard snobs who are now successful young Lawyers. She was always the smart successful one. She and her fiance seem to feel all sorry for my kids and they give them expensive gifts on holidays and invite them over for dinner at their big expensive house because they don't think we can feed our own kids properly. I hate the way she makes me feel like a piece of crap and a failure of a father and now my kids seem to love them more than my wife and I and they are always comparing us to them. What should I do? My kids act like they want to be adopted by them! moreResolved Question: My own kids hate my wife and I because we're poor. What should I do?

My sisters and I are very close in age, only a year apart. I am the middle child, so it can get a little rough sometimes. My older sister is very smart. She graduated with the highest GPA in the school, as well as being captain of the swim team, a student council officer, in the "gifted" program at our school, and president of NHS. She now goes to Duke University. My little sister is the "pretty one" of the family (at least, that is what she told me, just as she said my older sister being the smart one and I'm the "awkward" one). She isn't into school activities, though she taught herself how to create web designs and started selling things around the house on eBay (and now relatives just give her stuff to sell). My Uncle raves about how she is so fashionable, which I suppose she is. She has the most clothes in the house, and she somehow manages to fit (and steal) everybody else's clothes. And to my mom, she can't do anything wrong. She's the baby of the family. My older sister, well, my mom loves to brag about her. Even when my older sister was still in high school, my mom would compare our grades and everything. It's horrible. We are all good kids, we don't drink, do drugs, have sex, stay out late partying, don't break the law or steal. We all get A's (for the most part). And yet, I still can't seem to do anything right. I always feel like the black sheep of the family. Like, my mom won't let me get my license because she thinks that I'm a bad driver. But she let both my sisters get their licenses, and honestly, they aren't great drivers. Everyday on my way to school with my older sister, I would fear for my life. And my little sister has driven on the freeway once, and refuses to drive on it again. But every little mistake I make when driving (like getting in the turn lane too soon or pushing my glasses up so that both hands aren't on the wheel at all times) is just proof to her that I am not ready to get my license. To top it all off, my little sister has a very high confidence level, I guess you would call it that. She always thinks she's right, and thinks she's so amazing (which she is amazing), but a lot of the time she'll put me down in the process of raising herself up. I mean, I love my sister and we are really close and get along perfectly, but sometimes this tears at me. Too top it all off, my dad throws around the "I'm disappointed in you" card all the time. If I don't empty the dishwasher, "I'm disappointed in you". If I don't study for a really easy test in Spanish (which I then ace), "I'm disappointed in you". And even when I look for a college, my parents have all these criteria for what they want in a school for me, but they fail to look at what I want. And what makes it worse, is that that have differing opinions, so one parent will really want me to go to a school, while the other tells me there is no way I'm going there. I feel as though the biggest choice in my life isn't even about me, it's about them. And the thing is, I know that if I talked to my parents more, they would probably like me more. But whenever I tell one of them something, the other one will find out about it and get mad at me for telling them, even if it's something as simple as saying I like one college over another. Or that will start a fight between them. I don't like when they fight because of me. Plus, whenever I do tell them something, they tell that something to everyone else. I'm a rather private person, and I don't like people knowing a lot of things about me, especially people I don't know. I don't understand why they think everything in my life should be public knowledge. I'll be off to college in six months, so I know it's not a big deal, just suck it up it'll be over soon. But sometimes it just brings me down, you know? I know who I am, and I like who I am and don't need a notch where I belong. I do tech for the plays, and I sing, and I'm starting to learn how to paint and draw, plus I love to read and write and things like that, so getting a hobby isn't going to solve all my problems. I just want to feel like I'm good enough, you know? Not to have to always be judged and compared. Is there any way to do that, or will this be forever my fate?I would talk to my parents, but I know from experience that that isn't a good idea. If I tell them that what they're doing is making me unhappy, my mom will point blame at my dad, then he will defend himself, and then they'll start fighting again. I don't want to give them any more ammunition than they already have. moreResolved Question: Dishwasher BOSCH or KitchenAid?

She'll get a hold of an item of mine and do something to it to completely destroy it. I don't do anything to her items. She doesn't even say sorry. Examples- My gel eye mask, in the freezer for God only knows how long( Max time is 20 mins) A small cup of mine, hand wash only, went into the dishwasher and destroyed the print Camel Bak Bottle, int to dishwasher, hand wash only, melted due to the dishwasher Vintage hairbrush, got really mad and banged it down in the table breaking the handle off Put E600 tube 1/2 open in with a tub of my eyeshadow & lipsticks. This is only a grain of sand compared the the beach I have. I put my things away and yet she always finds them. She'll pick it up and move it somewhere never to be found again. moreResolved Question: Where can i report this scam?

Regards and remain Bless Mario Calderon moreVoting Question: What should I do to get through this?
My parents, in my opinion, act a little biased. My older is less than three years older than me and he gets more than twice as much in allowance because he has a girlfreind. Not fair. He gets the easy chores that only take, at most on a bad day, ten minutes while I have to help cook dinner and then I have to do dishes and all but scrub down the kitchen and dining room. If one plate comes out of our dishwasher a little less clean compared to the others I get yelled at while he can avoid taking the trash out for days because he's busy playing video games and they won't do more than ask him again to do it and remind him to take out the recycling. Funny thing, they have us help him with his chores by giving him a two minute break while we get all the trash bags from the bathrooms. I can't even sit down for a minute with my mom or dad asking me to this and that for them. All I want is to play a certain video game. And they always say no when I ask. They let him play it all day every day. They don't have any objections to the game itself, but towards more personal reasons. Last time I asked my dad yelled at me, I hadn't asked in nearly a year before that, and my mom, when describing her reasons why, described my brother. They said my grades would drop and that my grades weren't to their approval for the game, I'd do nothing but play all day, and that they'd never see me because I'd be locked up all day in my room. I'm an honor roll student and my brother'd gets C's and D's, yet they don't nag us about studying since it never helps me and it never helped my mom. They complain already that I talk to much and were more than happy the times I stayed in my room all day painting. They never got angry with for doing nothing but playing. What should I do? They never seem happy enough with me no matter how much I achieve and I just want to play the stupid game. How can I convince them or prove to them enough to let me play. Or what should I do to fill my free time rather than the boring usual sit on the coach all day where they are near enough to tell me to do this or that because I'm not busy? I've tried loads of hobbies and I haven't been given my allowance lately so I can't try anything that'll cost money. I'm kinda lost.Any suggedstions on what and how I should do?Thanks for the help but it's an online game that need credit card payments and an account. =P but thanks anyway. It's not that they're really unfair, I just feel that. I guess it's just me being all I'm upset because I don't get what I want kind of thing. Hahahah!!! moreResolved Question: I'm bad at job interviews - am I hopeless?
I cant get a job because I cant BS my way through an interview. Ive always worked very hard in school, almost too hard compared to everyone else. I went to college in the hopes of finding a job to support myself on. My grades in college were very good and I graduated in 4 years with a marketing major. I was the first person in my family to go to college and I did everything I was "supposed to" like taking on internships for experience. But now, cold, hard reality has hit me: I cant get ANY job. Ive looked everywhere for almost 2 years, and I have applied for simple jobs like mail clerk, dishwasher, secretary, etc. I dont get calls for interviews 90% of the time. Very rarely, I will get a call and when I go to interviews, I have a very rough time. Interviews are my BIGGEST weakness - I cant BS very well when Im under pressure. So everyone rejects me. And I desperately need a job, my parents hate me because they think Im being "lazy" since I cant find a job. And I feel worthless and depressed already, the job situation takes my depression to a whole different level. Im stressed out constantly and desperate for a job because I know Im really behind everyone else who is my age now. Is there anything I can do? Is this all my fault - what did I do wrong?Well, I picked a marketing major becauseI wanted to work in market research. And it was the major I was best at and enjoyed studying the most. I passed my accounting and finance classes too, so the statement about me not "hacking it" isnt true. -_- moreWelcome to Compare Dishwashers News
