Resolved Question: Please help! (Computers, RAM and Motherboard) Which is better?
Ok before I start, I must say this is going to be long and I am in desperate need of help, the task I am going to be asking is a pretty hard one... I really need the help so if you are really into computers and are willing to help, please do so. (I'm an idiot at the moment when it comes to computers so please forgive my stupidity) Basically i'm building a 500 dollar budget gaming PC, now I found a great build online for 484$ and this was made in 2011 as well. (I will have a link for everything) 500$ PC Build- http://www.gamersnexus.net/pc-builds/46-pcbuildupg/501-budget-gaming-pc-february-2011 I am in Florida right now on vacation and I thought this would be a great time to order the parts of Newegg (I only need the CPU, Motherboard, Graphics card, and RAM, since I have everything els) because I would save around 130 bucks due to tax savings and free shipping + some of the parts are much cheaper here then in Canada. Now I thought I could order the parts to an American Address using a Canadian credit card... thats not possible. I really don't want to ship the parts to Canada when I go back because I will have to pay a lot more and because I don't want to wait for shipping. Luckily there is a store REALLY close by to where I am staying, called compUSA. They sell loads of computer parts, which is good because I thought I could just walk over there and buy the parts. Heres the problem. They don't have all the parts listed on the 500$ budget gaming PC build website. They have the CPU and Graphics card, but not the RAM and Motherboard. Solution I need to find to find an Alternative motherboard and Ram to the ones listed on the website. Here is the RAM and Motherboard I should have bought, but cant anymore. RAM - http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=222 Motherboard - http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=M3A770DE And here is the graphics card and CPU that I need, which compUSA has. (Thank god) CPU - http://www.compusa.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6620917&CatId=4919 Graphics card - http://www.compusa.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6488509&CatId=3669 Now my question is can someone please find a GOOD alternative to the Motherboard and RAM that I cant get anymore? ( on the website which I will link) Here is where my stupidness kicks in. Its really complicating for me at the moment since im just starting to get into computers, to compare motherboards and ram, to tell which one is better. Anyways, if you are willing to help heres the link to the website. - http://www.compusa.com/ I would like the Motherboard to be EQUAL in performance to the one that I should have got, if not even a bit better, but be in the 30-70 bucks range. Same goes for the RAM, I would like the RAM to be equal in performance to the one that I should have got, if not a bit better, and be between 40-60. Also the Motherboard must fit all the other components I listed (Graphics card and CPU) so it must be AM3 socket, and fit into a mid tower case. Now some of you might say that I should just ask the people who work there, but I would really like to just walk in and buy the parts and leave. For those who will help me you have NO idea how much I appreciate it, many thanks! moreResolved Question: Please help! (Computers) RAM and Motherboard?

I heard they were popular there. Have any stats that could help me figure out how they compare to other big name credit card businesses in Canada? Any resources you can provide? moreResolved Question: carrying a balance: on credit card or line of credit?
Hello, I'm a third year medical school student who is just went through all of his savings and government student loans to pay for school/living. I know have to dip into my credit in order to pay for things. I usually put all purchases on my credit card (no matter big or small) and 100% pay off the balance each month. Now that I have no longer any funds to do so, I need to decide whether to leave the balance to carry forward on my credit card, or dip into my line of credit to pay off the balance on my credit card. Initially, I though the latter would make the most financial sense, but looking at the interest rates on each I'm not so sure anymore. (1) VISA: APR of 19.5% (2) Line of Credit: Prime (2.5% in Canada) Doing my math, I come out that I will be charged 1.6% per month (19.5%/365*30) on any credit card purchases. Compare this to the 2.5% it seems that the VISA wins out. First, am I doing and understanding that math correctly, and second, are there other considerations to take into account (i.e. how this affects my credit rating, etc.). Any helpful advice would be much appreciated! moreResolved Question: My Dad is having a really hard time making ends meet?
He only makes $20,000 CAD or so a year He has to provide for four people, me, my little sister, my mom (his ex-wife), and himself Yes my mom should be providing for herself, but she can't get a job She recently got out of school and she could be an LPN now, she has 3 years experience from when we lived in the US But she hasn't heard anything from where she applied My dad has been looking for part time and has applied at about 6 places now, multiple times He hasn't heard anything He's over $2000+ in debt with the credit card company and BC Hydro We have no heat in our house and winter is coming, up here it can get to about 30 below zero, making our house uninhabitable unless we have heat, but my dad owes BC Hydro over $700. He can't keep up with the rent, it's about $750 a month I can't get a job because I don't have a SIN, or any picture ID, plus I wasn't born in Canada, I was born in the US I'm only 13 and I don't know what to do I wish I could help with money and stuff but I can't since I can't get a job All I do is worry about money, and it really interferes with school Some days I don't want to get out of bed because I feel awful Sometimes I think it'd be better if I just died, then I wouldn't be such an expense and I wouldn't have to worry anymore I have anxiety attacks at night, and it takes me hours to fall asleep I'm always so scared that we'll get evicted Or that we'll freeze to death in the winter or something Or that it'll be like this forever, always struggling All the kid's parents at my school make so much money, most of them are very wealthy people and don't have to worry about a thing I have no one to relate to and there's nothing I can do to help anything or make anything better There's a little hope in my mom getting a job since she'd be making over $20 an hour, compared to my dad's $15 an hour so that isn't bad But she's only applied to one place and it's been 2 or 3 weeks and she hasn't heard anything She's never motivated to do anything, she's an alcoholic and a huge pothead plus she's been unemployed for years If somehow my mom magically gets a job then I don't think I'll worry anymore, but I don't see that happening She needs someone to push her all the time or she'd never get anything done I'm sooo scared I don't know what to do at all everything's so awful I can't imagine it being any worse but it is getting worse and that scares me so much :( What do I do? Is there ANYTHING I could do? Also I didn't know where to put this question... moreResolved Question: what is the best credit card for student?

What should I do?
A few weeks ago, 5 close friends and I went on a fishing trip in Canada. We are all in our late 20's and due to our hectic schedules and different locations, we don't get to see each other all that often. So this is our trip to sort of break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life back home in the States. So we finally got to our remote camp in the middle of the Canadian wilderness and of course, tipped back on some booze and beer around the campfire. We were all kind of horsing around and just having a good time, when all of the sudden my best friend (we'll say his name is John) decides to tackle me from behind as a joke. By doing so, I fell to the ground and his body fell on my leg and broke it. It was horrible. I screamed bloody murder as they eventually carried me into the cabin and laid me down on a cot. The next morning I woke up in intense pain as John was looking at my leg. He said we needed to get to a hospital asap. So he drove me to the nearest hospital, which was 2 hours away. The took xrays and confirmed that my fibula was in fact split above my ankle and that I had severe sprains to the other side of the ankle. They told me that I should get back to the states as soon as I could to see a specialist. So they rigged me up with a temporary splint and some pain pills to hold me over for a few days. I didn't want to cancel the trip for the rest of the crew though, so I toughed it out at camp with the guys for the remaining 7 days of the vacation.. The cost for that brief hospital visit here was $560.00. John put it on his credit card because I didn't have any money on me at the moment. It was one of those do or die situations anyway. A few days later, he told me that he would give me 10 months to pay him back for that $560.00 bill. I didn't think anything of it at the time because the whole situation was sort of a blur and an accident.. So I agreed. As the week went on though, I realized that the trip would soon be over and reality would sink back in for everyone when all got back home. The way it always does.. Except for me, my reality was dealing with my leg when I got back home. Everyone else would go back to their normal every day life. The 15 hour ride back to states was incredibly painful though as I was stuck in an awkward position in the back seat. The nearest place I could get medical attention was in Wisconsin, which is where my mother lives. The 5 guys dropped me off there and all went back down to Chicago, where they live. I actually live in Tennessee. So I decided it would best to stay with her Wisconsin so she could drive me to and from the hospital, as it was my right leg that was broken and I was unable to drive. So we got to the hospital the next day and the Orthopedic doctor examined my leg and immediately scheduled me for an open reduction surgery. There was no question about it. It was much worse than we thought with severe ligament damage as well. Here's the real kicker. I am a single aspiring photographer and at the moment, I don't have health insurance. So as soon as I heard that I needed surgery, I told John that he had to pay for that $560.00 bill in Canada. Jokingly over email I said "You are paying for that, I don't care what you say hahaha".. He got a little upset with me for being so direct, but he agreed to pay for that bill. Oh yeah, John is married with a newborn and makes $70k/year. Over the course of the week, I sent him a few emails that stated how much misery I was in and how screwed I am because of all this.. That I have to move back to Wisconsin for 3 months, go through surgery, find out how to pay for it, etc..etc..I think at one point I even compared it to a car accident. That drunk or sober, he was still responsible for it.. Which is in fact true if you think about it.. Simple cause and effect. Cause he was drunk and tackled me, my leg broke and I am in this horrible situation.. Much of it was somewhat joking, but he is a close friend and I thought he would understand my misery.. Instead, John got really frustrated with me and told me to stop making him feel so guilty for this.. Anyway, I went through with the surgery two weeks ago. It was the worst experience ever. My leg was cut wide open to insert a metal plate and 7 screws into my fibula.. I am unable to walk until August (2-3 months). Here is the worst part of all.. My medical bills arrived and have totaled $13,000.00.. All of which I do NOT have. Hell I don't even have $100 in my checking account after the vacation. My work market (photography) is down in Nashville and I am stuck in Wisconsin, where there are no musicians to take photos of! So I am unable to work for the entire summer, unable to walk for the entire summer and I am stiffed with $13,000 in medical bills. John has completely avoided contacting me after he heard how much the medical bills were. He is solely responsible for this, but there is no way I am going to sue my best friend. I would think he would havIn response to "Wickedd". Yes I agree, I should have had insurance. But due to the tight economy (I know, I hate to use that as an excuse), but I have had no luck landing a full time gig with benefits. I'm super talented with a stacked resume, but no one seems to be biting at the moment. I had an agent/headhunter that I was working with and we were getting near to closing in on a deal before I left.. But I had to tell them the bad news when I got back that I could not do anything full time until August. It was just incredibly bad timing for this to happen to me.. It's not like it was by laziness or choice that I didn't have insurance. moreResolved Question: Late Payments associated with credit card not removed?
My friend (in Canada) was told that her 8 year old Visa late payments showing up on her Equifax report will not be removed since the six year (compared to seven years in US) limit applies only to credit accounts and not to the associated late payments. This was confirmed by the bank which refused to remove the late payments. So she cancelled that Visa card and got a new one from the same bank. Now that old Visa account will drop off from credit report after six years and the late payments associated with it. moreResolved Question: which bank offers the best business bank account in Canada?
I already have a business bank account and can accept visa and other credit cards over the phone - all is working well except I seem to be paying a large amount of fees - can anyone recommend a bank or finacial institution that has low fees? Remeber this is in Canada and its a business account. I'm currently paying about 3.5% on my credit card transaction because they are over the phone and the bank says those are higher risk then the traditional way in person payments and hense the higher fee. Is there a web site for comparing business bank accounts for Canadians? moreResolved Question: Finding generic propecia drug in Canada?
Where can I get generic propecia (like finpecia) to Canada from a REPUTABLE (not those cheaseball sites with no addresses that steal your credit cards) online pharmacy. It seems like most online pharmacies don't ship the generic form of propecia to Canada, even the Canadian ones. Is it patented in Canada? Anyways, I was hoping to be able to get some generic propecia to Canada, thanks for the help! A little about propecia: It's a hairloss drug for men. It works really well, but is ridiculously expensive ($1000/year) compared to a similar drug like Proscar ($200/year for same dosage).http://www.generic1pharmacy.com is a SCAM. The address they post is the college of pharmacists in BC, and has nothing to do with them, besides the fact they sell "male enlargement" drugs and give away free viagra pills. moreResolved Question: I cant stand my family! It is not fair!?

I was very sick a few months ago and we called the nurses of ontario and they said i should bring me to the hosptial my mom said NO because she had to wrk the next day.. moreResolved Question: Would the cell phone work here?
Lets face it, Japanese cell phones kick some serious tail, compared to 99% of phones in North America. Say, for instance, that I were to buy a cell phone in Japan, and then brought it here. I realize that some of the fancy things that they can do with their cell phones over there (paying for food with a built-in mini credit card at 7-11) wouldn't work here. Would the phone work though? If I were to surf the net on it, would it be compatible, or would it glitch up? I was thinking of importing one from my friend there, but before I do, I wanna make sure it will work, and not be a fancy paper weight. I've heard that there wouldn't be any issues, but I have my doubts. I live in Saskatchewan, Canada btw. moreResolved Question: tell me why big box retail and chain stores work so hard at signing you up for their credit card???
Everyone knows the stores, the clerks ask, cashiers ask... they ALL try to say sign you up and tell you.. hey you can SAVE 10 % on this purchase. My question is WHY does a company base everyday operations on getting customers to sign up.We are told at meetings that our percentages everyday are based on how many we can get... contests are even held.. points are given( I even seen cashiers fight over who gets the signup) and all other stores are compared... at the last meeting we were told BY THE STORE MANAGER the week sucked so bad that maybe we should look for another job??? so guess what I QUIT!! Please can anyone explain why companies are doing this?.... the credit card debt is soooo bad in Canada right now and I just dont agree with this policy am I wrong??? moreWelcome to Compare Credit Cards Canada News
