Resolved Question: Which credit cards offer airline miles? How can I compare the best cards that offer miles?
I plan to pay ALL of my bills on the credit card and pay it off each month, thereby racking up the free miles. moreResolved Question: Do you believe that desire can cause pain?
My 3 siblings are all married, each make 2 good incomes, each have 2 children, lived in very nice homes, drove expensive vehicles, all had underground pools... get the picture. I am a single mother. Make about a third compared to my siblings, have 3 children with no child support, live in a middle class home, have a minivan, no pool. I have never owned a credit card because I chose not to. My siblings all have many. But currently they are all broke! They have unbelievably, all three lost their homes. They drive beater uppers and live more poorly than I do. I have spent all my adult life being belittled by my siblings for not "being in their class". Now they are coming to me asking me to help them. And trust me... I don't have much. I live within my means and never have I once asked any of them for a loan or help in any way. Nor have they ever offered. I have done everything I know to live right, do it on my own and have managed to be quite happy. I enjoy helping people when they truly need help. But I don't feel I should have to help married couples with 2 incomes. I'm sorry if they are use to the higher class lifestyle and can no longer attain it. They still have more than me. If they didn't desire such an upper class lifestyle and lived as they could afford without the help of credit cards and credit I believe they wouldn't be in the mess they are in. I have accepted what I can and can't afford and have live quite peacefully. Do you agree that desire causes pain? moreVoting Question: Help with math. Dont understand any of this.?

Basically, I am 20 years old and I am in my 2nd year at university and I love being there because it has allowed me to escape in a way from my family and all the problems I had whilst I was at home. Basically, I live with my mum and my older brother (he's 21) at home during the holidays and every time I come home I get blamed for the financial problems that we have. My mum and brother are useless with money and they get themselves into debt because they cannot handle their own money. When I left for uni, the benefits my mum got for being a single parent with a child in education ended and suddenly I became the bad guy for wanting to study in London and make something of my life. My dad lives 30 mins away from us at home with his new wife and my parents have been divorced for 15 years and all my mum does is compare me to him in terms of selfishness and everything. This isn't true because I have given my mum a lot of the money that I am supposed to be living on and I lent my brother £500 and he is paying it back really slowly. My mum borrowed some money off my aunty and she asked me to help pay it back for her. I was more than willing to until nearer Christmas, my money was running out quickly because my rent was more than i expected and I had to pay some money off my student credit card. My mum completely kicked off and shouted at me and told me to get out of her sight and never to come back again from uni (this isn't the first time she has said this, she usually apologises after a few days). I said she was overreacting and said that my aunty isn't exactly desperate for this money and all my mum had to do was wait until I had a bit more money. I have never forgotten how she suddenly changes how she is and slags me off to all our family members when it suits her. My dad said she is jealous of me because I am the first person in my family to go to uni and because I want to be a solicitor she is apparently jealous of my ambitions and the fact that I have such a good time at uni. My brother on the other hand encourages me to go out and have a good time because I didn't have much of a life at home but he never offers to help my mum and he lives with her!!! He has loads of money each week but he spends it on going out with his friends and am I wrong for thinking why is she asking me when all I have is my student loan and he is actually earning money???? My dad doesn't support me financially and he won't either. I can't cope with these constant problems. I have IBS and i feel ill a lot of the time because of these problems and I have just been diagnosed with polycystic ovaries and all my mum said to that was "oh well". Someone please advise me. I am struggling to cope. ( I cannot stay with any other family members during the holidays either) moreResolved Question: After marriage, is it possible to have separate property in legal terms?
I have a lot of credit card debt... well maybe not a lot compared to some people, but I think it's a lot. Most of it is due to a "universal default" interest rate that went across ALL my cards when I paid ONE card one day late a few years ago. But that's another story... The reason I'm mentioning this is because I've been thinking about the implications of debt on a spouse in the future. I don't want my debt to be a burden to someone else, and paying it all off anytime in the near future isn't doable at all... I know that in most cases, property people aquire after marriage... such as a home, or land, or car, or whatever... is considered as belonging to both people, and thus is also considered by any debt collector in the process of going after payments... I would not have an issue with allowing property to all be in a spouse's name... such as... house, car, land, etc... being in his name. I would not marry someone who I didn't trust that much anyway... who I didn't trust to use what he is blessed with to also care about me... But is it possible... in the eyes of the law... to be married and also have property be considered only his (and thus not considered for the payment of debts)? I know this varies by state and some states are "community property" states. I live in Missouri, and this is not a community property state... but I still am not sure how it would work or if it's possible to really have him aquire property and have it not be considered part of "my" property as well... Can anyone offer any insight on this? moreResolved Question: How to settle my 2nd mortgage?
Im in a Ch13 BK right now which has become all but useless. I originally filed to save my house and repay the arrearages on my first and second mortgages which were fairly significant. In addition to that, I had some other priority debt like tax debt and legal judgements so I was in pretty deep over my head. Compared to most folks, my unsecured debt was pretty light- auto lease, less than $10k in credit cards, few other obligations. I filed in Sept 2010 so Im just about a year and a half into the plan paying $775 a month to the Trustee. At this point, almost all of my priority debt is either treated or paid. The judgements have been paid, and Bank of America offered me a mod on my first mortgage, leaving the tax debt. The IRS decided to get creative and pursued my wife for our owed debt becuase we filed jointly, and I didnt add her as a party to my Ch13 petition. Whether that was bad legal advice or my failure to read the fine print, you decide. I had to enter a payment agreement with them to keep them from levying my wife's wages and Im still paying out to them through my trustee. I need to verify where I stand in my status of case but Im fairly confident that all of my priority debt has now been paid with the exception of the IRS. I dont see the point of paying them twice each month if all that's left in my Ch13 is unsecured debt. I'd rather switch to a 7, keep my $775, and pay the IRS a little quicker. Im expecting a refund this year and that will obviously go towards paying my IRS debt which Im showing to be around $3900. The balance which doesnt get paid by my refund I can redirect the $775 I was paying the trustee and wipe it out fairly quickly. That way I can get my discharge and save the $20,000 or so dollars I'd be paying out over the next 2 years to the Trustee. If that weren't incentive enough, my wife and I are trying to adopt so if we were to continue with the 13 we'd be forfeiting any future refund we'd get with the Adoption Tax Credit while under the plan. The only hitch is my second mortgage. My attorney filed a lien strip motion to have it treated as unsecure debt but that's contingent on completing my plan and receiving a Ch13 discharge. At this point I dont see paying out 20 grand in addition to what could be a sizeable future refund based on the Adoption Tax Credits on a what was a $43k mortgage note. B of A sold the second to Realtime Resolutions who have told me that they can either modify the principal amount and collect payments or I can settle at about 15 cents on the dollar. While I'd love to write a check and make them go away, I dont have the cash and their contention is that they wont make payment arrangements on a reduced principal amount. I dont want to go back to being a slave to this 2nd mortgage (when Im still underwater on the 1st) but the Ch13 plan seems like chasing good money after bad at this point. Anyone who has ever adopted knows how hard it is and Ive come too far to put it on the shelf now. My question is, whats the smartest way to negotaite a settlement on the second? Ive heard of people just ignoring the second for an extended period but Im not willing to take a chance on another judgement or garnishement. Will a company like RTR reduce the principal amount? Just looking for some insight here before I completely commit to rolling my Ch13 to a Ch7. moreResolved Question: Are the conditions for arab terrorists in Israeli jails better than the conditions of the Turkish hotels?
Now the draft about making the conditions for arab bandits kept in Israeli jails for murdering Jewish children and women harsher is under scrutiny of the Jewish Parliament commission - and under the attack of the Left- wingers who are foaming about the "violation of the human rights" - of murderers of course, not of their victims. Below you will find the main proposals of this draft - compared to the curent conditions the State of Israel provides to the people guilty of murdering the citizens of this State. 1 Replacing 9% - fat cheese for breakfast with 5%- fat. (currently, the Arab bandits enjoy the best 9% -fat cheese ) 2- limiting free access to food, portions will be issued on duty in the kitchen (currently, the Arab bandits may eat as much as they wish, 24 hours a day). 3-Limiting Internet use up to 4 hours per day (currently, the Arab bandits have the access to Internet 12 hours a day). 4-Air conditions should be connected only on the particularly hot days Currrently, it´s 24 hours a day, free or cold depending on the weather) 5-Turn off the satellite TV ,only the Israeli channels will be received on the antenna. (currently, the Arab bandits have the satellite TV in Arabic, English, French, Turkish languages) 6- Reduction of severance pay when exiting the prison(currently, the Arab bandits get the payment equal to the average wage in Israel) . 7 Limitation of visits relatives(currently, it is 7 visits a month). 8-Limitation on purchase the products outside the prison with the delivery to the cell (payment by credit card) - only 400 NIS. per month. (Excluding tobacco). (currently, it´s unlimited) 9 Use of mobiles during the daytime only(currently, the Arab bandits can use the mobile phones 18 hours a day. 10-Prohibition of delivery of the foreign press(currently, the “poor terrorists” get the foreign newspapers on demand, free of charge of course). Poor palestinian prisoners" have already written to the Committee of Human Rights of the UN about the brutal tortures the Zionists want to expose them to with this bill. P.S. I ´ve been in many Turkish hotels and in quite a lot of them the conditions are not even 50% as good as the conditions Israel provides to the low scum who murdered Jewish chidlren. Maybe Israel should offer Turkey to host the arab bandits in their hotels, with Israel paying for this? For Israel it would be cheaper, Turkey would be happy because it would increase improve the situation for many of the half- empty Turkish hotels, and the terrorists would be kept in worse conditions.Dan Dan, I had the same idea, but when I tried to make a reservation in some Israeli jail, I met a with a problem; there was not a SINGLE VACANT CELL!!! An absolute overbooking! The Administration of Jails informed me that arabs reserved all the cells at least 3 years from now, even in the "low season". Just imagine! moreResolved Question: How is my financial situation compared to other 25 year olds? Please help...?
Okay, I'm 25 years old and was living well beyond my means up until 6 months ago when I decided to change my financial future. Since then I've paid off all credit cards, my car loan, and one small student loan. I still have $10,000 in subsidized federal stafford loans which are locked in at 6.8% interest. However, other than that I'm completely debt free and have a $3,000 emergency fund. I'm single and make a $40,000 annual salary, not including potential monthly bonuses. How would you rate my financial situation compared to others in my age group? Additionally, should I throw every extra dollar towards paying off my student loan or invest in a retirement/savings account since my employer doesn't offer a 401K match? Thanks for your input. moreVoting Question: Chase Freedom $200 cash back?
So i was comparing credit cards online and i found the chase freedom $200 cash back card. When i went to the chase website they only offered the $100 cash back. I did some research and found that for some reason it is only offered through links that compare credit cards. when i clicked on the $200 cash back one it brought me to what looks like a legit chase website to fill out the $200 cash back one. Is this a scam? Should i just stick with the $100 one that i know for sure is on a secure website. I owe 3,500 for 3 credit card charges that I made 2 years ago. I paid the first few payments, but after that they became too hard pay. I'm stuck with a huge debt that I've had accumulating over the past years. Now I've recently started getting Bankruptcy offers in the mail almost daily. I've talked to my credit card company on the phone and they are always hostile and unhelpful of the situation than I am in. All they did was berate me for missing the payments. I don't know what to do now, because I don't make enough money to pay it and I haven't been able to find a 2nd job. I haven't been able to get advice from anyone who knows much about credit card debt, especially debt that's so old and expensive compared to income. What are my options? Please give answers other than getting a 2nd job--that's obvious. moreResolved Question: Crying at work -right or wrong in situation?
I felt overwhelmed at work yesterday evening after trying to give my all but was prepared to make the best of today despite being a little run down and had very polite customers many that told me they appreciated my effort in helping them, and I quickly completed my credit goal within my first half hr. Then feeling better about my accomplishments of today compared to how I felt yesterday I started checking out this lady and she asked if she could have a discount coupon (we have certain exclusive coupons that are for customers that have a charge card with us, of those a couple certain coupons require that you charge at least part of your bill on your card which is the one we were offering today) I assume she has a card and let her pick a coupon and apply it to her transaction. I tell her how much her total is and she already has her bank card in her hand and is zoning in on my pinpad by the time I complete that sentence and I am now asking her if I can see her charge card and her id ( most customers that have a card know which coupons must be used with it or will ask around this point whether it has to be charged to use this discount and I will explain and let them only charge a dollar or two if they don't really want to charge much but still want the discount ) she makes a face and reaches back towards her wallet (I assume to find the cards I asked for) then pauses and quickly slides her debit. I then say 'oh, actually this transaction is supposed to go on your charge card ' 'why' 'because this paticular coupon is supposed to be used with your card' 'well yesterday they gave them to everybody that asked for one whether or not they used a card' (almost always a lie or misunderstanding) I ask if she remembers who was helping her since our policies don't allow us to do this and if valid we need to address this issue, and my coworker also agrees and pages a manager bc she is irate. She immediately starts screaming at me to finish and to press whatever button I haveto complete her transaction. ( at this point i'm not sure what to do, because she is upset and won't let me explain and i'm not even sure if she has a card at this point. but because i can't go back i need to find out whether she wants this discount or not and that depends on what card she is willing to use...) i tell her i need to know whether she wants to keep her discount to proceed. 'well obviously your not gonna give it to me so just press whatever you need to press to finish this up' she has been screaming the entire time about the same thing and won't stop. i void the transaction and start over and then tell her her new total and ask to see her id. am screamed at again bc 'you see with your eyes not your hand' (bc she is holding it far away and i try to get a closer look since i am still required to make sure it's her.. ) her id didn't even look much like her but close enough when i'm trying to get her out of here and the name match so i give her her receipt and start walking awto complete her transaction. We have been together for 5 years and I can honestly say there is no spark (not for my lack of trying). We had a big falling out this year because I was dishonest about some credit card debt that I accumulated. He decided to cancel the trip where he was going to propose to me (understandable), he keeps all my credit cards locked in his safe (helpful), and demands that I direct deposit my whole paycheck into his account and he gives me an allowance or else he cannot continue the relationship. At first I was all for it because I wanted to stay with him. But I only get enough money to drive to and from work and the gym, leaving me stranded at home, and a deadbeat to my friends, who offer to pay for me but I just can't accept that. Meanwhile he is going out every weekend and eating out at lunch everyday. I realize that he is most likely using HIS money to pay for those things, but I can't really be sure because he won't give me access to the account. All of that wouldn't be so bad if he would just show me some emotion (besides anger). He never compliments me, always criticizes and compares me to the women he works with. I am a jersey girl and I look like it. I have a coke bottle figure and I like to show it. He would prefer me to dress like the boring lawyers he works with. But I feel like he is looking at me with disapproving eyes. I know that I am an attractive girl, but I've never felt so unattractive to anyone before. When I talk to him about it, he just explodes and says "i don't have anything nice to say". We probably only have sex like once a month! I need it on a daily basis! Then he says I ask for sex to much (WTF) so I buy the rabbit and have fun on my own. He went through my things and threw it out!! ($90 out the window) calling me a w***e. He hardly kisses me. The more I type, the more I realize that I'm answering my own question.... He is dangling that ring in my face! It is impossible to leave... I'm across the country, we own a house, I just got laid off (and you can bet he has me job hunting from 8am to 5pm lmao!), and he has my money. He actually told me that he can be in love with me and not attracted to me all the time. Then it should be REAL easy for him to find a replacement after I leave his ass! moreResolved Question: What is the best first credit card?
I am 20 years old and have my own apartment and am trying to build my credit for my future. I have a part time job and will be starting school next month. I was wondering how I can build my credit and how to use it. I know that there are student credit cards, but i didn't know which one was best. I know Discover Student is the most popular, but is it the best compared to the same types of cards offered thru Visa and Mastercard? Also, this may sound stupid...but how exactly do you USE a credit card? What should I know? Thank you!!I make above min. wage, and used to work full time, but had to cut back to part time. I've heard recommendations to either get the Discover Student card, or a Secured Credit Card thru my bank (PNC) which do u reccomend? moreResolved Question: Should i move back to Europe or continue staying in the US?
Ok, i moved to the US back in 2004. I came in my senior year of high school as an exchange student. Finished high school, enrolled into a 4 year university with a degree in computer science. Finished the university and then started looking for jobs. I needed a job that would help me get more experience, but that turned out to be pretty hard because of my non-resident status. Eventually I managed to get a job in IT but that offered very little experience in the field. I have been grinding over here pretty much since my arrival, working construction jobs, delivery jobs, making a living(not depending on anyone) but not getting wealthy. Anyway, my big dilemma is not strictly about a job. I still have plenty of good friends and relatives back home with which i keep in contact often. Even though most of them still live with their parents and have jobs that cannot, in any way, sustain them, they still live their lives much more than i do over here. Here, because of they daily habit that everyone is used to(work - home - sleep), i don't get to enjoy it even half as much. Small stuff like going to grab a coffee, or just hanging out talking about random things seem to be huge energy/time-consuming tasks that nobody engages in because they are too tired or are to lazy to get out of the house. My big problem is that life in the US is (or seems to be from my point of view) not very balanced, it is all focused on making more money so we can pay for the coolest new thing or pay your credit card bills, or the payment on that nice car. I am not trying to say that America sucks, because it can offer so many great things and opportunities, but at what cost? I have so many great stories that i remember from back in my country but since i came to the US(7 years now) i can count them on one hand. I do have friends over here, most of them of the same nationality that i am, but after a while they all end up having the same routine(work-home) and its hard to do anything outside of that. By no means i blame everyone around me of being boring because i find myself doing that same thing(and i hate it). I am also not trying to say that i hate work and its stupid to work so much and bla bla bla; I am a good hard worker and i do believe that everyone should be. My complain is that there should also be some good/enjoyable/relaxing times after a long day at work, not just go hide home until the weekend comes so we can go to a club. I came to the US thinking about a better life, and compared(mostly financially) with other countries, including mine, it is better. But I have come to believe that a good life should not be calculated entirely on your financial rewards, it should also be about fun times with friends and family, being around people who you love being around, having great memories that you can remember when you're old and just start laughing or smiling out of the blue once you think about them. I guess thats my biggest fear, getting old and not having those memories, what good would a big fat bank account(if that) do when you have that void inside and all the money in the world can't buy you those memories. All that said and and done, I am now thinking of moving back to Europe, maybe not to my country(since, financially, its not very stable), but somewhere close so that i wouldn't have to sell an arm and a leg to get there. It is a very frightening thought starting over somewhere else, mostly because i think i have become so used to the routine, and that the routine is "safe". As scary as it might be I am still strongly considering it just because i am 24 and it wouldn't be as rough as it would be starting at a later age. Just to be clear, I am not looking to move to Europe and party my ass of just because the US was not what I was expecting. I would look to have a career, a good living and enjoy my life some more. Reading this, I'll admit it sounds like hippie talk at times and it may be hard to take serious, but if anyone could relate just a little bit, any thought, idea or comment would help. My husband and I make $2,200 a month between his job, our sons SSI, and my unemployment. The apartment is $775 a month and we would pay electric. We met the landlord, filled out an application, and provided references, our current landlords number, and my husbands credit report. His credit scores were 603, 624, and 701. He is only 21 & just opened his first credit card and has a bunch of student loans on his report that do not need to be paid yet. Anyways, we offered the landlord 3 months rent + the security deposit. We are expecting another baby within a couple weeks and I have called several times explaining we need to be moved ASAP so we can get settled in & prepared for our babys arrival. Yesterday my husband called once again and they said they have to review everyone elses credit report who applied and "compare apples to apples." Wouldn't they have jumped at our 3 months rent up front offer if we would be getting approved? I'm not feeling so optimistic now. What is your opinion? Do you think we will get the apartment? Should I offer 4 months rent in advance? It would put us on a tight budget if we did, but we really need to move soon!Yes to what?it's a duplex owned privately. not a large complex. they guy seemed really nice, but im not feeling confident just for the simple fact that they havent jumped at my offer of a few months rent. moreResolved Question: Duties of a girlfriend compared to a wife? Edited?
I have been with my boyfriend for nearly 5 years. We met in college, but part way through I decided to change careers so its been taking me longer to graduate. He works on ships for a living, so he is gone alot and we manage our long distance relationship pretty well. He decided to buy a home in Florida and we are both originally from NY. Well to be closer to him and make it easier I moved down here too. Mind you I know no one down here all my friends and family are in NY and I even changed schools for this. Well my problem is that since he is gone alot he made me his power of attorney and take care of his bills and home (including the HOA). I am the one that cooks, cleans, does the errands. Gets the car fixed and just generally makes sure everything is ok. I dont mind doing it, and since I am still in school and he is gone it kind of made sense. But I dont work and he has never asked me to, he has always told me that finishing my school is the most important thing and he is so appreciative of everything I do for him. But recently because it is a new home and new place and a lot of new things are being purchased to fix up the place and just general living the credit card bill had been getting high. Well he always makes me feel guilty and last night he finally said for me to just get rid of it, that we had been through this too many times. So I cut the card up and am now applying for jobs. So I will be a full time student, working, and taking care of all his stuff and I am not even his wife. He says he will propose when he is ready, which he said will be sooner then later. But I have this sinking feeling that it will never come. Why propose to someone when you have all the benefits of wife but none of the strings right? or am I just looking at this wrong? I love him very much, but I hate feeling as though I have no power in this relationship and having him treat me like a child with the credit card, he quite literally wanted me to tell him every time used I and for what, but it just makes me like a child. But yet I am an adult when I spend hours on the phone taking care of his issues and a girlfriend when he comes home and wants affections. I feel trapped in a horrible situation and I am lost. I love him but I am scared that this dynamic will never change. *Let me clarify for all who have responded once to this. The credit card bill is not from me buying clothes or going out or anything like that. A majority of it is for HOA payment, car insurance, cable bill and other household expenses. A portion was spent on some books for my new class in school, and gas is the car to get there and back and food. The rest he spent on us going out or him buying things, and yet I get blamed for it being too high. I am upset because he offered to help me and I never thought I would have to alert him every time I used it for things we had previously agreed on. moreResolved Question: Whats the answer to this?

Ok, I will try to keep this short as possible. Back in feb I received a email from a guy offering a business partnership, I sell his computers on ebay and I get 10% and send him the rest. well we did it for a month did 60k in sales and ebay banned me. ebay wanted invoice's when I asked the guy for them he cut off all contact. so i refunded the buyers that didn't get their computers and left it at that. so today I got a phone call that I needed to come in for questioning tomorrow. turns out they was buying computers with stolen credit cards and breaking into wharehouses and stealing them. they was drop shipped I never had any product at my house. I have proof that I asked are they stolen and he said no there legit. I also have wu receipts showing I did send the money on, so I'm hoping I have enough to clear my name. The deputy said I wasn't in trouble that he just wanted to know what I know about those people and he wasn't interested in prosecuting me because I was little fishes compared to those guys. BUT if they decide to come after me , what charge and punishment could I be looking at?According to the police . I'm not a suspect. This is so un fair. I've done nothing wrong. I've stole nothing from anyone and I even came out of pocket to refund people that didn't get their items. I would give all the money back if I had it but I sent it on to the scammers. like i said I was told that I'm not a suspect or have a arrest warrant for me. I have nothing to confess to as I have not done anything?I was also told that if any charges did come against me (which I have none right now) I could get off with probation or a misdemeanor since I'm young 20yo and have a clean record. The investigator said it would be hard to bring much against me.I feel bad for the other people that have been caught up in this as I was told I'm not the only one. He said they have many leads on who done the crime.Even if I did get charged, I don't think a jury would find me guilty of any-wrong doing. Because I was a victim just like the companies that had the computers stolen, :( moreResolved Question: Question regarding credit card?
I finally got approved for my first credit card with capital one (not a secured card, $500 credit limit). The offer on this card was 0 APR for the first year. Thing is I'm trying to build my credit as safely yet efficiently as possible. With that being said, would taking advantage of the offer and leaving a balance on my card slow down my rate of building credit compared to paying it off in full each month? Or is there a marginal difference between the two? And yes I am aware of the "no more than 30%, under 10% optimum" golden rule of the credit card world. Just wondering before I start using my card. Any additional tips for a first time credit card user is also appreciated! Thanks in advance! moreResolved Question: Help me fix my grammar and spelling for my paper?
Heres my essay Im doing on Ebay and Amazon Comparison. My grammar is really poor :P english is my second language so please help me fix my grammar and make it sound better. here it is Ricky Huang eBay vs Amazon The two most popular online shopping sites: eBay and Amazon. Amazon is like an online store and eBay is not an online store, more of an auction house and is a site where people go to buy and sell their stuff. Both are really successful companies; but which is better- eBay or Amazon? Well, I think eBay is better than Amazon for many reasons: I find it easier to use, more people use it, more items, and more payment methods. Through my research and my personal experience eBay is a bit more expensive, but you get more options like payment and page layout. Unlike Amazon, eBay charges a listing fee whether or not an item sells, as well as any applicable PayPal fees. But its commission is also much lower than Amazon's (8 percent on items under $25, compared with 15 percent). I call this a Tie. So what kind of payment methods do these sites offers? What is payment method? Well payment is pretty much how you going to pay for your things. Most common payment methods are credit cards and bank transfer. Amazon only accepts Credit/Debit card or an Amazon Gift Card. While eBay can accept PayPal, money orders, cashier’s checks, or cash (in person). As you can see eBay gives the seller more payment options than Amazon. I say eBay wins this one. Next is format. Format is basically how you going to seller your items for example eBay popularized the auction format listing and Amazon concentrates solely on fixed-price listings. So which is better? So eBay is better if you are selling antiques and collectibles, as auctions are easily the best way to get the best prices. The Amazon buyer is more affluent, and pays a higher average price for products. EBay is trying to downplay auctions and encouraging fixed-price listings. I call this an eBay win Taxes, we all know what taxes is you pay taxes for things you buy. EBay enables sellers to collect applicable taxes in addition to the sale price which means sellers won’t lose any money to taxes. Amazon sellers are responsible for the sales tax on any items sold so, they generally add the tax into the fix price of their items. It’s a pain in the butt for Amazon sellers. I say eBay wins this one, as well. What about return policy? If you don’t know what return policy is, basically it allow you to return the item and get a refund within a specific period of time. Amazon has the A-to-Z Guarantee which allows buyers to receive a full refund if an item is materially different from that described, for up to 90 days. In a dispute, Amazon typically sides with the buyer. On the other hand eBay seller is free to negotiate with buyers through eBay's PayPal dispute resolution and the seller is not required to offer a refund. While the dispute resolution process can be effective, it can also become messy and time-consuming and can result in negative feedback. I usually don’t have any problems, most of time I can negotiate with the sellers and get a full refund if there’s a problem with my order. I called Amazon win. Photos, its where people post a picture of the product they’re selling. EBay sellers have always struggled with photos. Trying to take good photos, figuring out how to get the photos to show up on eBay, and how many photos they need. Every item, doesn’t matter if it’s exactly the same as another, is will get its own photo on eBay. On the other hand Amazon is different. You only get one photo, and one description page, and all sellers use the same page. Usually the first photo posted on a product, everyone will use the same photo. Some sellers don’t like the idea of other sellers using their photos. It’s better to have more photos for your product, so the customers can have a better view and idea of the product. I called eBay win. Feedback, basically it’s when buyers and sellers leaves a impression of a transaction. Both sites allow buyers to leave positive and negative comments for sellers. The more positive feedback you have the more people will buy from you and trust you. Amazon buyers can see the seller’s feedback score, and usually tends to overlook it more readily than eBay buyers. Amazon’s A-z Guarantee makes the buyer feel more protected when purchasing an item. moreResolved Question: Read and fix my essay?

"A bank is a place where they lend you an umbrella in fair weather and ask for it back when it begins to rain." --Robert Frost I need to purchase something immediately and would like to take out a loan, except for the fact that what I need isn't anywhere near the typical personal loan amount (it's only $450). I've decided against doing a payday loan due to the possibility of it being strictly advantageous to the lenders only and I'm also unsure of the legal status in my state (NC). Hey, I need help answering a few questions for a movie called A Civil Action. I get kind of confused, and don't understand the movie at most of the points. 1. Why does Jerry Facher ask all those questions about peanut butter and bacon and dental fillings and toothpaste? 2. Jerry Facher's case seemed to rest on not allowing the parents of the child who died on the offramp to testify. He was successful, and had his part of the case dismissed. Why didn't he want to testify? Was he wrong to try to keep them from testifying, or was he just doing his job defending his client? 3. James Gordon (Jan's Partner) says that credit cards are the "last great pyramid scheme in America." What does he mean by that? 4. James Gordon buys lottery tickets, and shamefully admits it to his uncle. The implication is taht he had never bought lottery tickets before. Why not? Why is he buying lottery tickets now? 5. James Gordon, trying to convince Mrs. Anderson to take the settlement, "You're looking at 4 guys who are broke. We lost everything trying in this case." She replies, "How can you even begin to compare what you've lost, to what we've lost?" What does she mean by that? Is she right? Wasn't she trying to make the comparison when she started the lawsuit? 6.Why does Jerry offer 20 Million before the jury even comes back? Isn't he pretty sure the jury is going to find in his favor? 7. The company representative of Grace (who ask Jan to put his feet up) says that money is not the problem, that the flood of lawsuits that will follow is the problem. Is he justified in using this analysis to determine whether to pay these families? Shouldn't it just be a question of whether the company caused the injuries or not? do you think he's acting ehtically? Why or why not? 8. What was the point of the bankruptcy judge asking Jan the questions she did at the end of the movie? 9. Did Jan have to take the case? Whhat would have happened if he had not? What role did the EPA play in this? What role should they play? 10. Jan changes throughout the movie. Websites like www.creditcardcity.com.au are fantasitc and help to compare cards, however does anyone have any advice? moreResolved Question: Southwest Rewards credit card limit, annual fee... worth it?
I recently got a Southwest Rewards credit card in order to take advantage of a "free" round trip flight offer. The card has an annual fee of about $60. I've never had any other credit card with an annual fee. The card also came with a credit limit of $16,000. Now, I don't have bad credit (I'm in the 750's) but I was surprised to see that credit limit since every other credit card I've ever had started with credit limits of around 1 or 2 thousand, and over time built up topping out at around $6000. My wife's highest limit was $12,000, and I think it's only because she used to be a business owner. She's had that card for years, and even so they lowered her credit limit during the recent recession. We don't carry balances on any of our cards. We use our Costco American Express card for all of our daily purchases in order to get the 1-3% cash back. I didn't get the Southwest card intending to keep it or even really take advantage of the Rewards plan, except for the one free roundtrip plane ticket. I plan to terminate the account as soon as I've gotten the trip, and before the next annual fee comes up. How will losing $16,000 of credit availability affect my Fico? I don't have any planned purchases coming up requiring credit review, but you never know. Does anyone have experience with the Southwest Rewards plan? Is it worth comparing to the Costco cash back program? Is it worth keeping, despite the annual fee? Thanks!Thank you, Cold and Frank.Cold: what you say seems consistent with my own analysis. I don't really like that dollars don't equal points, so you have to do math gymnastics to determine how many points you get per purchase. Frank: are you a representative of Southwest? None of the "we pay you back" was featured or highlighted in any of the literature I got. Maybe its buried in the fine print, but I'd think they would promote that more prominently if it's true. I could easily shift $1000 of spending to that card if it saved me the $60, but I don't think that's the deal... do you have a URL for the brochure you mentioned? On re-read, Frank, now I think I understand that you are offering some sort of product or feature that will somehow give me free money. I think I've heard enough. Thanks but no thanks. moreVoting Question: Are credit cards with no annual fee any good?

I have been divorced for 8 years and have equal shared custody of my children, so i have never had to pay child support. My ex wife has always been on a much higher income than me but I never took any money from her to help me. My ex wife is the one who left the relationship due to me finding out about her affair. Once we separated I refinanced and gave my ex wife half the value of the property. Now after seven years, my children don't want to come to my place anymore because they have casual jobs after school and on weekends. Now my ex wife, who earns 75k per year with a company car, compared to my 50k and no car has gone to child support. Child support want me to pay $160 per week. If I pay this I will not be able to meet my home loan repayments and other expenses and will loose my home and have to rent, but rental is more expensive than my home loan.My ex has a rented home at a very low rent of just $250 per week. My ex is able to have a savings account where she banks $200 every week to use for luxury holidays and cloths and presents for the kids, Without paying child support I can't even make ends meet. I have told child support this and also given proof of my income and expenses and a copy of the credit dept I have from when I was put out of work a year ago and had to use a credit card to pay bills and buy food. My income clearly shows that I need an extra $350 per week to pay all my expenses and by taking child support from me means I would need an extra $510 per week. I have offered to pay $40 per week until my situation improves but they will not except this. There must be some legal organisation in this country that will help me. Child support solicitors won't. moreResolved Question: How many have been ripped off by Bidzaroo?
Hello... I'm looking for others who have used the penny auction site, "Bidzaroo". I was completely screwed over by them, and I am OUTRAGED. I'm trying to decide in which type of legal direction I'm going to take this in, and would really like to know of other's experience's with Bidzaroo, as I'm sure you were more than likely completely robbed just as I was. I am so thoroughly ticked off, I'm looking to take these crooks down in a big way and I am willing and able to invest time and money to do so... Two weekends ago, I bought a bid pack and won an auction for a camcorder. I don't know how, but they overcharged my credit card by $988! It has been 12 day's and I have sent 6 letters with every one of them expressing that it urgently needed to be corrected and refunded immediately. With that said, I completely understand that over sights and mistakes can happen. Especially with this time of the year, and the hoards of people trying to get good deals with sites like Bidzaroo offering unbelievably good deals etc etc... When I first noticed this major oversight of them deducting $988 from my debit card, I immediately took action and submitted an email asking for urgent assistance. By the 5th day and the 4th email with no response, I was starting to get pretty upset. I had not Christmas shopped yet for my children, and the money they took from me was what I was going to use to spend on them. Every single attempt of contacting them has been ignored, and the camcorder shows the status of "paid" yet, "not shipped". Which in its on is frustrating as I intended on giving that to my Husband for Christmas, and it was in no way going to make it in time for Christmas, even though it was paid for 2 WEEKS AGO. This is unacceptable business. As it stands now, Bidzaroo has been contacted 10 times, and it has been 2 weeks, and still not a single response has been given. Bidzaroo has come so close to completely ruining my family's Christmas. That money that they over charged us has completely depleted our bank account and caused us to not ONLY be unable to afford Christmas presents for our 2 children, but it caused other bills and payments to bounce and has put us entirely in the red zone. We were late in our house and car payment, and were charged with late fees and bounced checks. As horrible as that is, it doesn't compare to the fact that my children might have gone without having Christmas presents. Thank GOD we keep a credit card in case of emergency's, and the kids are going to get their gifts that they had hoped for all year. I am so upset with Bidzaroo, I can't even see straight. This was a painfully hard lesson to learn that, " If it's too good to be true, it probably is." If you haven't signed up for this horrific, malicious site, STAY far far far away. Bidzaroo will rob you, and hang you out to dry. If you have had an experience with them, I would very much like to hear what you have to say about what has happened, as I'm sure it wasn't a good outcome. (However, I truly hope nobody has a story like mine.) Just in case others fell victim to Bidzaroo's criminal antics, I want to form some sort of group of people who have been scammed and screwed over by Bidzaroo's vicious and defrauding website and it's corrupted owners, and take them to the justice they deserve; I don't ever want anyone to have to go through what I have been through with these demoralized crooks who run Bidzaroo. Hopefully with doing this, maybe some repair can be done to those of us who have been obviously embezzled. I would like to add that I have disputed the charges from Bidzaroo, and all of their heinous charges have been credited back to my account. Although the late fees and bounced checks have not been reimbursed. Which actually isn't my concern in doing this.. My doing this, is is to prevent Bidzaroo from hurting and robbing another person again, and hopefully to help the people who did fall prey to Bidzaroo's thievery, to get their money back. SHAME ON THE COWARDLY CROOKS RUNNING BIDZAROO. YOU WILL NOT GET AWAY WITH THIS, I PROMISE!! moreResolved Question: Credit card compare offer?

I already have some miles and with the 25k included in the offer, I could get a Europe ticket. If I'm not planning to refinance or get another mortgage for a couple of years (at least), is there any reason not to get the credit card? I don't mean to go overboard, but if I were to get 2 cards in the next few months, how much and for how long would my credit be affected as compared to just getting 1 card? Thanks for your knowledge. moreVoting Question: Credit Cards-Which one?
Besides all the marketing, why are the benefits of getting an AMEX (or another "big" name) card compared to a card (MAster or Visa) from a credit union? Does AMXEX offer anything spectacular that will outweigh the 29.99% APR and other fees if you make 1 late payment, compared to a credit union that offers a low fixed apr without annual fees, etc. moreResolved Question: Would you use student loans to pay off credit cards?
I have massive credit card debt for a 28-year-old (over $20,000). I'm starting a PhD program this fall, and I keep telling myself, "just get through school, then you'll have a job that pays you enough to pay off all of that debt." I made the decision to enroll too late to get funding (most PhD programs are paid for through scholarships, teaching classes, etc.). So for the first year I applied for student loans. I just found out they're offering me enough (over 2 semesters) to pay for my tuition AND pay off my credit cards (they do this with the idea that PhD students don't have time to work full-time jobs and need extra to live on). Reasons to do it: The interest rate will be lower (MUCH lower, like 4% compared to 28% on some of my cards), and the federal loan people are really good about working with you when you have a financial hardship or any other issue. My credit is barely hovering above "bad," and it could start repairing itself while I'm in school. Reasons not to do it - That's a whole lot of student loan money. I still haven't paid off my loans from my bachelor's degree. I don't have to accept all of the loans, and I could accept the bare minimum to get me by in school. But the debt will be mine either way, right? I'll have to pay it off whether it's on CCs or on student loans, and can probably do it more quickly with student loans since they won't be destroying me with interest. It would be so nice not to think about those stupid CCs anymore. Opinions?MVD - I understand what you're saying. Here's my thinking - if I were going to declare bankruptcy I would have already. I'm pretty committed to just paying off these cards. My parents declared bankruptcy and I know it cost them a lot of money (ironically) in lawyer's fees, etc. I'm not in a position to do that and won't be for a long time. If I take all of these loans, yes I'll have a lot of student loan debt but still less than the national average for someone with 3 degrees. My friend accrued over $100,000 by the time she was done! The other problem is, I'm so close to the limit on most of my credit cards that I keep incurring fees. Not to mention I pay about $300 in interest EVERY MONTH. I'm drowning, and it will be a few years before I'm actually able to pay more than the minimum on these things. If I'm ok with knowing I'll have to pay it all off eventually....don't you think it makes sense? moreResolved Question: statistics (please help, so urgent)?

I bought my FICO score last December and it was 690. I have spent the last 6 months and plan to spend the rest of the year getting my debt-to-credit ratio below 10%. I'm planning on ordering my FICO again this December and hoping that my score will be above 700. I haven't opened up any new lines of credit this year but I have added my husband as an authorized user on 3 of my accounts. I did this purely out of convenience though and didn't think it'd affect his credit score. It took me a year to get my score up to 690 and my husband's credit was non-existent. We're wanting to buy a house in the next 2 or 3 years so we opened up a secure credit card for him last month. I ordered his FICO report today so I can get his score now and compare it to what it is in 6 months to see what the change is. I was surprised to see that my husband's score is 663. I wasn't sure how that could possibly be but then realized that all three of my cards that he appears as an authorized user on, appears on his credit report. I guess it's a good thing because we won't have to wait as long to build his credit but is that why his score went from non-existent to 663 so quickly? I don't really understand. Not paying my bills is not an option for me so as long as I keep making payments and insuring my debt-to-credit ratio is low, is it safe to assume that both my and my husband's credit score will increase? Will having him as an authorized user on my account hurt my score at all? He doesn't make any purchases on these cards without my knowledge so that won't be a problem. Thanks in advance for any help you may offer. moreVoting Question: Where can I get a mailed catalog (pamphlet) to order supplies for my store?
I am in the selling of clothing (both women and men), electronics (kitchen), prepaid visa/mastercard gift cards/credit cards (Red Lobster, Macy's, American Express, etc), home (bed sheets, pillow cases, covers, curtains, towels, lighting, male and female accessories, etc). We've been together 4 years and lived together in this house a year and a half. I love him very much, but he's made it clear he's not ready for marriage. He's been so good to my son and he's been a far better father to him than his real dad. I recently asked him to leave after a heated argument over him not contributing financially. He says he contributes where he can with things like buying us a snowblower, firewood, and groceries once in a while. I said that that's a drop in the bucket compared to the rent and bills I've had to pay, and it's especially hurtful because the only reason I moved into this overpriced place was because my boyfriend promised to pay half of everything. Really the reason he isn't paying is because he's been trying to get his business up off the ground for over 4 years and all the money he makes goes back into that. And now it's especially hard since my job has given me fewer hours and I'm basically "underemployed". The only way I can pay the bills now is with credit cards and tapping into my savings which is going fast. He only just left this morning and my heart is absolutely broken to pieces. I don't know what I'm going to tell my son. He will be devastated. Was I right to stand up for myself? I really wanted to get married because he really is good to me and my son and he always said he loved me. The letter I left him was pretty hateful and now I regret it. He will have to come back eventually -- either to beg me to take him back or just to get his stuff. My parents are offering to let me move in with them until I get back on my feet, but that would mean moving very far away. Please help. My heart is breaking and I need to know if I did the right thing or if I'm a heartless bitch... moreResolved Question: Credit scores burearu pull questions and secured credit card points?
The whole credit scoring system is very confusing to me. I have read and researched that FICO scores from TransUnion and Equifax are supposed to be the most used by major lenders for auto loans and mortages for homes that are real scores. This is compared to third party companies that offer free scores called FAKO not real FICO's like Identity guard which I used last year. Experian and TransUnion supposly have FAKO scores as they use Vantage Score. But what is not explained is what insurance companies, business that you want to rent an apartment from, cell phone companies and credit grantors use etc.... For example I got Verizon cell service in 2007. I was going to move out in late 2008 and the apartment place ran my credit using TransUnion. A credit card company denied me credit card using Experian. My bank used Innvois a 4th new credit bureau to approve me for a checking account. So what scoring system used in these cases? As Experian does not have FICO and all others are FAKOs. I want to build my credit up using a secured credit card but want to check accurate scores to see where I am at before I get the secured card. Then check my scores next year. Also how much will my scores go up when all my negitive items come off my reports by 2013? Thats the 7 year period for credit debt / charge offs. Did anyone get a $300 credit card charge 30% or less per month for atleast a year and see their credit improve? If so how many points? http://www.creditscoring.com/creditscore/other/plus/fake-o-fico-funk.htmlSecured credit card is going to be from Bank Of America.
