Ok trying to figure out my next car purchase and comparing the Dodge Durango to a Ford Explorer and both have most of the same options for each. So I matched them as best as I can. However one is a 2013 and one is a 2012. That is a comparison I cannot figure. The 2012 is cheaper....no surprise. So lets just say I had two identical cars, same mileage same features same color and everything EXCEPT for the year. One was a Ford Explorer 2013 and one was a Ford Explorer 2012. What would be the price difference? That might help me figure in a better comparison between the Durango and the Ford. Thanks! Oh and I can guess so I prefer someone who is in car sales and has a figure based on experience. moreVoting Question: 8th grade math HELP! PLEASE! !100 points if all coorrect!!?

My name is Ryan. I'm 20, about to be 21 in July. I've... never had a girlfriend nor have had any sexual encounters. No kissing, no hand-holding, nothing. A couple of months ago, I was very sad that I would never get a girlfriend but now, I'm starting to be ok with it. It's a process, I suppose. You see, no girl has ever been interested in me. No girl has ever paid me compliments, I have never been in a one-on-one scenario with a girl. On the other side of the coin, my friends have gotten very far with the opposite sex. Many of them are in relationships. I know life isn't a contest but I just can't help comparing myself with my friends - as we all started on the same level playing field. Well, not exactly... Physically, I think I'm alright. I'm 6" 1' and I weigh 180 pounds. My facial features aren't as chiseled as some of my friends but I know they could be worse. I hate viewing relationships as something to achieve or some type of progress instead of spontaneous and persistent occurrences, but that's what it's become to me. If I ever got into a relationship with a girl I like, it would be a big milestone and achievement for me, a signifier that I managed to somehow beat the odds. Add to the fact if I ever found a girl that liked me for me even with my off-kilter interests, I would feel very happy. However, as we know, we can't always get what we want in life. I want a new car. Can I get it? No. I want a new keyboard for my computer. Can I get it? No. I want to be able to move out of my parent's house right after graduation. Is that possible/feasible? No. So, this is another thing to add to the list. I have come to the conclusion that we simply don't always get what we want in life, no matter how bad we want it. Let's also be realistic, the lack of experience in relationships and the bedroom is another detriment to guys like me. Girls don't want guys who are clueless. They want guys that can rock their world in bed. No one likes to play teacher, especially at my age. This will only become more of a detriment as I advance in age. I have an uncanny ability to foresee things. I envision a life... alone. I do envision myself living in a nice house in comfort. At least I won't be distracted, nor have someone to negotiate my comings and goings, nor will my hand be forced to do things I don't want. It's freedom... at a price. It's liberating yet stifling at the same time. I wrote this so that people can see my viewpoints, this is for people who don't have girlfriends and never will. Hopefully I was able to give some light to someone. This is not negative thinking either, its realistic. It sucks but its realistic. You may leave thoughts below. Thanks,Hey Silver Morgan, why don't you go fuck yourself?@ AM: It's good you're a Christian and all but I'm not. Hell, I'm not even getting married. Pretty much all I would want is companionship I guess. And no, I do not believe that girls want a "pure" guy. Since when is purity determined by being a virgin? Sex is one of the most basic things you can do and it somehow makes you unclean? That type of thinking is ass backwards and twisted.@ Cherie: Why answer if you're not going to read. This post wasn't for you, its for people like that 36 year old man above. People like you already have sex or will definitely have sex. The people like me and that guy above you - won't.@ Crystal: I would rather have Mrs. Right Now because it proves that I can get Mrs. Right in the future. I don't want to wait twenty years to meet someone. That's fucking stupid. It's a waste of my youth.Girls are passive? HAHAHA! That's SOOOO rich. That's SO rich. You should see some of the "passive" behavior of some of the girls I know then. They're really passive when they start making moves on a guy at a party. They're really passive when they then suggest a long term friends-with-benefits with that same guy. That's passive behavior, alright.Where is telling a girl she's pretty going to get me? It's not getting me in her bedroom, that's for damn sure.@ Korina: I've been so open. I've been so damn open. I've never pushed any girls away. Why would I? I've only come to the conclusion that I'll be alone until recently. Because simply, no interest by females was shown in these years of my life. What does that mean? It means that no interest will ever be shown. Stupidity is doing the same thing over one thousand times expecting different results. I was tired of being stupid, so I changed my approach. You make it seem like its so easy to be in a relationship. Do you know how many times I have been shot down and cast aside? The odds are not in my favor.@ Victoria: I'm antisocial because i'm a virgin? What a world we live in. What a fucking world we live in. It's incredible that you say I'm antisocial just from reading five paragraphs of TRUTH, of hard TRUTH and FACTS that I've written here. It's incredible how many Einsteins come out of the woodwork when I write something like this. Everyone thinks they have the magic potion, the antidote, the remedy, the solution, the panacea. Hey, so I had it pretty much narrowed down to either a Honda prelude vtec 96' or a Honda prelude SI 92' mostly because their local, they're in relatively good condition (haven't gone into TOO much detail looking at them). I've heard alooot, about how great the Madza miata is, though. I guess it would be a bad idea not to consider it, judging because they both are similar in price, and longevity. Does the Mazda miata really compare though? I wouldn't even know what year of miata to look at. Also, I realize these cars all are pretty small, but I don't really need alot of space atm. I really just want a nice car that will last me for some years, maybe, and still be nice to drive. Price, I guess, goes without saying is my main limiting factor.Which of the three cars should I look at to get, miata compared to the other two, and if the miata which year should I look at that still has it comparable to the other two. moreVoting Question: Should I sell my car or trade it in?
I know this may just be a matter of opinion, but I'm undecided. I'm going to be buying a newer car. I have a '99 Chevy Prizm that I originally paid $2100 for (and that was a GOOD deal back then). Its scratched up and dented quite badly. It was in an accident recently at no fault to me, so the insurance company is sending me a $1500 check. Anyway, the dealer has offered me $500 for the car. I think I should be able to sell it for around $1000. Its got a dented fender, a dented hood, and a scratched bumper but at 136,000 miles its running strong. I figure the tax money saved by trading in the car would be about $40. Meaning that I probably could make an extra $460 by selling it. However its going to take some time. I'll have to drive the car out to my dad's place 50 miles away, clean it up good, put a sign on it and list it on craigslist... then wait. The dealer, while the price they pay is close to scrap value, its an easy trade in and when you compare it to a $21000 car, the $460 doesn't mean as much. moreVoting Question: what are good sites for importing cars to canada?

ok so a live in an area that is considered good and upper class, and it really is, but there are some crazy rich people around here, nothing scarier than crazy people with more money then brains. and the street gangs, the inner city is like right on the edge of the rich area, poor city planning i guess... so 2 nights ago a pipe bomb went off four houses down, crazy stuff, the house is being torn down right now... anyway my windows are bullet resistant, my walls are filled with sand bags and in front of that is 2 1/2 Inch thick solid steel plates all around (yes it was very expensive) my front door is the only thing that is not heavily armoured, it is armoured, its rated for 7.62 rounds(i know because i shot the plates inside with my Seiga AK-47 and it didn't even dent it, shot same type pf plates with my Barrett M99 50.BMG however, sailed right through so.....ya. hell even my car has light armour (i'm paranoid, i know) i am looking for a reputable company that makes good blast / breach resistant doors, money is not a factor. i want it so even the Army would be scratching there heads, saying "damn get more breaching charges...or a tank...or something" most of the armour is homemade except the windows, i own a machine shop and everything in it, i had lots of left over steel plates from a job that was canned so i brought them home, filled the walls on the ground floor then bought more for the top. (and yes my home has been reinforced to support the extra weight) the reason i do this is because i have over $100,000 worth the guns and other collectibles, like my vintage guitars not 20 feet from my front door, more in the next room and so on. nothing is tied down, i hang all my guns on pegboard so i can admire them. i know, its kinda odd, but why have a collection if you don't admire it? my house as of right now is pretty impenetrable, i have lots of stuff so that even if someone gets in, the system shuts the steel hydraulic gates and locks them in, facial recognition software, biometric access denial (finger print and retina scanners) and yes like i said, very expensive but when you have rare guitars, 100s of brand new and vintage collectibles guns, huge TVs, the price of these security measures is like pocket change compared to the value of everything els. and to make sure everyone is on the same page, i am no criminal, paranoid over paid machinist who lives by him self with way to many guns? ya maybe that... but i like to think of my self as a good guy, i would never hurt anyone unless they tried to hurt me first. im not worried about law enforcement or police, im on there side (on most things). im worried about scumbag gang members who don't have a sack between there legs so they joined a gang and rob people so they can feel "cool" or "strong" when in reality there pussy's with guns, that's my worry PS. i am very skilled with my hands, i can make anything into anything, maybe just build it my self? i really don't know much about how explosives work, i know how guns and bullets work very well, so i can stop them. how much steel would it take to stop a military grade breaching charge? maybe 5 inches of steel? more? if it can stop that it can stop anything gang members / crooks would have. i have been looking online but can't really find exactly what im looking for, any advice?were it says "shot same type pf plates"i meant to say "same type of plates"my keyboard is the only thing i own that truly is cheap junkwere it says "shot same type pf plates"i meant to say "same type of plates"my keyboard is the only thing i own that truly is cheap junkwere it says "shot same type pf plates"i meant to say "same type of plates"my keyboard is the only thing i own that truly is cheap junk moreResolved Question: Who else likes early 90's sports cars?
Im not some hipster kid who was born in 1990 expressing some unfounded nostalgia for cars older than me just because we were "made" in the same year. Although I am young, I can remember when these cars were new. In my area one could shoe horn into a drivers license at 14 if your parents had the money to insure a 14 year old. So even in junior high I was eye balling cars. I also remember being able to buy VW bugs (before these garbage new versions) for like $250 in running condition when I finally got my license. Now you can barely find them. Of course my family didn't have the means so I didn't get my first car of my own until I was out of high school and saved enough from working in construction. Even since Ive been through my share of used POS cars and have yet to get a really awesome car that I can be proud of. I haven't really made any money since, and finally find myself well employed so Ive been dreaming and surfing the internet looking at all the cars Ive ever wanted to buy over the past 16 years while I save. Im disappointed though, nothing new compares in looks to say early 90s Acura NSX, Ferrari 348, Nissan Z32, Mitsubishi 300GT/dodge stealth(I remember the first commercial I saw for that car), Toyota Supra, Dodge Viper(remember the television show?), and the RX-7 oh and we cant forget the R32 Skyline(hell throw in the R33 too even though late 90's). I know its a wide range of prices but man those cars just look awesome to me and had performance to boot. Now a days "sports" cars are 5 door econo-hatches, inflated "compacts" larger than full size vehicles of the early 90's, or sorry attempts at recreating the 60's styles with modern plastics and 20" rimzz... I remember when 16" wheels were upgrades and 17" was ridiculous and excessive. bah! maybe I can find one of those cars and rebuild it. That would be awesome. I guess some of those models extended into early 2000's but by now they have been so dramatically changed I dont even care to follow up with the new "improvements" moreResolved Question: honda city or civic - chennai which one to buy?

I'm in my 2nd year of college at a university and it's about 60miles from my hometown. I've though about getting a moped before but never made an initiative. When I say moped, I mean a vespa. Something like the Vespa S50 http://www.vespawallpapers.com/images/wallpapers/Black-Vespa-S-2008-08-1024x768-201198.jpeg. Just to get around town, going to and from school since my house is about 1.5miles from the school parking lot, and to my girlfriends house which is about 2 miles away. I will also be taking summer school here and it will be around 100degrees, so I'd prefer not walking about 40minutes between home and school. I was thinking a Vespa should run about $1000-$1,500. As well as a M2 License(about $200), insurance, and maintenance. Since I am getting a motorcycle license, and a Vespa will cost about 1,000 to 1,500 anyways I decided to just get a motorcycle. Prabably around 250cc that way I can go on the freeway (go to parents house). My main reason for doing this is to save money on gas (currently spend $75/5-6days on my car), parking at school(motorcycle parking permit is $10 a month, compared to $40 a month for vehicles, also motorcycles/mopeds may park in any parking lot 24/7 compared to vehicles between 4pm-10pm M-F). Transportation to and from parents house occasionally on weekends. I have classes usually at 8am every morning, and end at about 10pm each night. usually with a 1-2 hour gap between classes. Also vehicles looking for parking tend to wait up to 2 or even 3 hours on campus. I was thinking of getting a 250cc or so used motorcycle. My price range is prabably around $1,000 for a motorcycle. I was thinking of a used Honda rebel, Honda CBR250R, MC_D250RTC, kawasaki ninja, suzuki gs500, EX650, SV650. I am about 160 pounds if that helps. I would like any motorcycle that is known to be reliable, and looks nice (sport motorcycle). I am currently 19 years old and I have had my drivers license for about 4 years. I've also have insurance and 3 different cars under my name in the last 4 years. (2002 VW Passat, 03 VW Passat, and currently a 04 bmw 330i. VW's were sold). I would like to ask your opinions what motorcycle I should get, how to choose a good Used motorcycle, how much I should be spending, how much I should be looking at spending on maintenance ( oil changes, transmission oil, or anything else and how often I should do it). Do I have to regularly care for a motorcycle? (ie after each ride). How much insurance will run, liability/full coverage? I currently pay about $650 for 6 months full coverage 100k/300k for my car. I'm not sure if this will help but my credit score right now is about 750 according to freecreditscore.com. I have a garage to keep the motorcycle in as well. I'm thinking of going to multiple vehicle auctions, to purchase a used motorcycle hopefully for around my budget of $1,000-1,500. Which will probably mean the retail value or kbb value of the motorcycle will be about $1,500-$2,500. I purchased my BMW 330i for $5,000 which included tax/fee's/repairs/sticker and everything from a auction through a car dealership this way. Which retails for about $9,500 dealer value. So the motorcycle price seems realistic to me. I will be keeping my BMW while using the motorcycle so that I can use the car when needed. I'm sorry that this post is very long, I just wanted to give as much information as possible in one go. Wanted to include as much detail as possible. Sorry again and thanks for the help!! ^_^. Sorry again for the long post.MSF course in my area costs $185 for under 21. Also liability alone usually costs about $60~100 a year from what I read on google. Let's take engineers as an example. US salary average around $120K. In the UK around £60K. But then prices in the UK and US are the same - a big mac in the UK is (I don't eat McDonnalds so don't know exactly) around £4 in the us it's around $4. Cars and houses are pocket change in the US compared to the UK and you will most likely get a descent size house with a descent size yard. Some will say crime in the US is high - it is in the ghetto. People usually know the areas where crime happens and homicide is often between gangs - not random people. In the UK these days you don't know when and where you're going to get stabbed. Remember the boxing day when somebody got killed over a pair of trainers... The taxes are through the roof, the NHS is getting worse and worse and costs more and more, the police refuses to do their job to the point that a lot of people don't bother calling them or reporting crime. The economy seems to work as well as a broken clock. It so happens that I'm an engineer just about to graduate from Oxford and I wonder what's the point of staying in the UK? Any reasons?OK I know some people will say family and all that but a flight from the US to the UK costs few hundred dollars (return). You can quite comfortably see your family every few months and still earn almost double the UK pay. I personally see my family every few months even though we live in the same country so I doubt it will make that much of a difference.Second, the UK has some beautiful places but so does the US. The US has some really beautiful places and you can enjoy anything from the deserts in the south to the rocky mountains of the west to the steps in the north.Furthermore, unless you live in cornwall you'll benefit from it's beauty by a very small margin. I'd rather live in a country with a nice climate. I had the chance to live in such a country and it made me appreciate what a shitty climate we have in the UK. When I came back 10 years ago (I was still a kid) I just couldn't stand the climate here. Cloudy, cloudy, rain, cloudy...a bit of sunshine (just to £4 is about $6.5 so what? A particular BMW (European export) model I compared costs $80K in the US and it costs £80 in the UK. So in the UK a person earning £60K would need 4/3 of a salary to buy one. In the US it's 2/3 of his salary and he'll probably manage to find a place to park it!Florida? Florida is one of the worse states along with Alabama, Oklahoma...NHS is not free!!! Stop saying that! You pay close to 40% of your salary in tax, 20% VAT (that's already almost 2/3 of your money). Then come 1000s other taxes such as fuel tax, emissions tax, council tax. So if you sum up you probably pay way over 70% of your earnings in the form of taxes (probably more for the middle class lawyers, doctors, engineers, economists). And BS It he US you get emergency whether you can pay it or not. Yes it costs but you pay for it in the UK as well, trust me. I am astonished how people think that somebody else is paying for a service they use. No - it comes from your pocket. The thousands of pounds you don't see each month go to the gov. which runs the NHS. In the US you pay for it, it's x10 better than in the UK and you don't have to wait. What's the point of the NHS when you have to wait often a whole year. and live with the disability? moreResolved Question: How much(ESTIMATE) the price for divorce for this situation?
Okay my mom pays all the bills: car, rent, food, insurance, etc. And my dad on the other hand don't and gives little money to my mom compare to what he's getting. On top of that, he has so many debts from different departments: target, cash advance, old navy, more cash advance, sears and much more. He does NOT pay them off. On top of that, he buys and issued check that he can't afford. A car for example. He issued a check yet there's no money in his account so we end up talking to the dealers and trying to return the car even though he's been using it for over three weeks because he doesnt want to return it. We were able to return it but he did it again, bought another used car and now the dealers want it back because he did not fullfil his contract, and he doesn't want to return it. He's been using it for three weeks now. He just BS-ing all the people he meets. I want my mom to divorce him, but was wondering the estimate money that would cost us considering this current situation. They have kids including me, and we are all OVER 18. *I tried talking to him and making sense to him, trust me, there is no sense at all. He just keeps pushing us away that he thinks everybody is against him. Making excuses that he is all righteos saying to my mom that all she thinks about is money when he's the one who doesn't contribute alot on the bills and still have sooooo many debt that he that he does NOT pay. You go to my house and all you will hear is phone calls from the people he owes that he doesn't pay single money to. I'm 'pretty sure' he's not cheating to my mom though, in terms of having an affair to someone. He's just jacked up like that and doesn't know how to handle money. You will never get to him when you talk about the problems, he makes BS crap. moreResolved Question: Which car is more reliable?
I could either get a 2007 Hyundai Tiburon GT with 42000 Miles or I can get a 2010 Ford Fusion SE with 61,000. Both are around $13,000. What would you recomend. This is my first car. I will drive conservatively, not hard unlike most teenagers. I wanted to get a 2006 Nissan Altima SE-R with 90,000 miles but I thought 90,000 was high and the car was far away to buy so I'd have a wait 1 month and risk it being sold as compared to the fusion and hyundai which I could get in less than 3 days. I've done much more research on the Tiburon since a year ago so I got lucky and found a tiburon in my price range. moreResolved Question: Outsourcing: what do you think?
It is said that if some jobs weren't outsourced products would be very expensive. I am pretty sure a person that has been working hard his entire life and has now been laid off would care more about feeding his family than the price of an iPod. In addition, that idea is discarded when you compare the prices of American made cars (cheaper) and Subarus and Toyotas and Hondas (much, much more expensive). Outsourcing is just a way for companies to decrease their expenses and therefore increase profits in the expense of the consumers. What do you think, is it the government's fault or the companies' greediness. moreResolved Question: I need help with function compositions?
1. The regular price of a certain new car is 15800. The dealership advertised a factory rebate of $1500 and a 12% discount. Use function notation, where x represents the price of the car, f(x) is the price after rebate, and g(x) is the price after discount. Compare the sale price obtained by subtrating the rebate first, then taking the discount, with the price obtainted by taking the discount first, then subtracting the rebate. moreResolved Question: How much would a 2003 honda civic lx be?
How much would a 2003 honda civic lx be with at most maybe 160-170k km on it? I was looking for a car around 4-5k People say to check kbb and i see outrageous prices i wouldnt imagine for it, which i dont know if its true. I see it as outrageous because I check kijji for hondas like these and the prices dont even compare to what Kelly blue book had (8k+). If i can't afford this car can you tell me what car I can get with 4-5k. Tell me the Year, and model if you can. I am only intrested in 4 doors because of insurance. U can recommend me a toyota corolla or a civic around the price range of 4-5k if i can't afford a 03 civic lx. moreResolved Question: How do I convince my parents to let me go out of state for college?
I fell in love with a college that's 7 hours away from my home. The cost is reasonable, even when compared to the prices of my home state's colleges, and I have the grades to get in. Also, Freshman are allowed to have cars on campus. But, the problem is, my parents don't want me that far. It's a "safety thing" with them. I understand that they are my parents and don't want anything to happen to me, but I feel like it's time for me to grow up and find my own way in life. Now, it's not like I'm the kid that goes out drinking and partying every night. So, I don't quite understand why it's such a concern that I go out of state. I'm a junior in high school and it's getting to be that time during high school where I'm going to have to decide what I want to do after high school. I'm dead set on this college. So, how do I convince my parents that they should let me go?I'll be taking out student loans, as well as applying for grants and scholarships. I'll just need my parents to co-sign the loans. moreResolved Question: Friend Offering Me Deal On New/Used Car at VW Dealership, How Can I Break Even Long Term On the Investment?
If my best friend gets me a favorable deal on a new or used VW, price out the door, monthly payment, etc, will that set me back in my goal to pay off my student loans as quickly as possible? How good of a deal would I have to get to be able to drive the car for a few years and resell it or trade it in for a small loss, or even the same price that I purchased it for? My goal is to find a way to drive something nicer, and more reliable, without taking on long term debt, or spending significantly more on auto expenses than I do now...the thing is I have $0 car payment now, get good gas mileage, and pay minimal on liability only car insurance. I am interviewing for a promotion at my company in a few months, if I'm hired as a sales rep, a nicer car will make a lot of sense for sales calls, and will be a great investment as far as helping me make sales, drive potential customers around, but if I get a good enough deal maybe I should invest in a nicer car now. Talking to my friend tomorrow morning about this, he lives in a big house and drives a fancy car but isn't good at living debt free or saving money. Advice appreciated! Thank you. Details: -I take home $2,500/month, -3 months at new job, only $2000 in the bank -$800/mo in total expenses (student loan payments of $400/mo are deferred for 1 more year not making those payments now). -$30,000 in student loan debt. -I'm 30 y/o and support myself, my family is relatively poor, no support from parents or relatives of any kind, so saving and building a nest egg is relatively important to me compared to people with family support -My current car 1990 Honda Accord 220k miles on it. Runs good (has new timing belt, engine valves etc), but is $500 away from being comfortable (no AC, cracked windshield, two windows are locked in place, don't go up or down, passenger front door only opens from outside, one of the doors is smashed badly on outside and needs replacing.Edit: Looking to get a used car, drive it for a couple years, then resell it, with as small as loss as possible. With my friend working really hard to get a reputation there, getting me a one time deal, it seems reasonable. moreResolved Question: When is the best time to buy last year's model cars?
I'm looking for a new car (Honda Civic) and I wanted to know when is a the best time to buy a new car? A friend of mine told me that getting last year's model is the cheapest way to go, but during what months do car dealerships usually give good deals on last year's models? Is it also possible to negotiate the price even further? Does it make a difference from last year's model compared to current year's model? Thanks. moreResolved Question: Should I get a car with a salvage title?
I am 18 and ready to buy my first car. I've been looking at many different places to compare prices, and I came across some cars that have a "salvage title", I was wondering if it is okay to buy one with that kind of title ? or stick to a clean one... moreResolved Question: Which one of these cars would you buy used?
I am a 25 year old male looking to purchase a used car for about $25,000 give or take. I currently drive a leased 2012 R-Line Volkswagen CC, I have no problems with the car, but I feel like I may want to expand my horizons a bit once my lease is up. I've been looking at the following used vehicles, all which have pro's and con's IMO. I will list my reasons for picking these vehicles, and my reasons for doubt. I am curious which vehicle you would chose given the dollar ammount, miles on the car, and reputation of the vehicle and company from which its manufactured. 2009-2011 Volkswagen CC (w/ 20k miles) Pros: Good quality interior (simple and easy to use) Gorgeous Exterior (very unique) 21-22 MPG City Cons: "Hit or miss" on reliability from a VW Manufacturer warranty only covers 3 years - 36,000 miles I already drive this car now, will I be able to deal with it for another 5+ years if I buy used? 2008-2010 Infiniti G37 Coupe (w/ 30k miles) Pros: Infiniti comes factory fully-loaded with all technology/convenience features standard 330 HP! Attractive exterior styling Cons: "Everybody on the block" has a G37 coupe Interior feels "cheap" or average compared to other luxury vehicles in its class 16-18 MPG City 2008 BMW 328i Coupe (w/ 35-40k miles) Pros: Attractice exterior Solid drive quality It's a BMW! Cons: BMW reliability is arguaby worse than VW has been in past years...which says alot 17-19 MPG City Interior is the least flattering of the 3 vehicles if iDrive system is not equipped (most likely it won't be at a $25k price point used) Perception that you're "snobby" because of the badge that is on your trunk "BMW". If I had to choose 3 things that are the most important in making my decision, they would be... Interior quality and drive quality City MPG (as I rarely do much highway traveling) Car Manufacturer reputation and image Please feel free to suggest a different vehicle not listed. I will give you my personal taste/preference, I am not looking to buy any American/domestic cars as I feel foreign car companies produce better vehicles. I prefer the quality of German interior quality/drive quality, but am a bit turned off by their reliability. On the flip side, I admire the reliability of Japanese made cars but am turned off by the quality of some of their cars (interior to be specific). With all that being said....what is your opinion? Thank you for the feedback! moreVoting Question: Rough Draft anyone great with revising? improvements?
Chevy Avalanche My current vehicle right now is a 2004 Chevy Colorado. There are numerous mechanical problems. The engine light has been on for a while even after it was serviced. The brakes constantly need repair and the ABS light is on. There are a couple pros I would like my upgraded vehicle to have but less cons that I’m experiencing now. I’m considering trading it for a 2004 Chevy Avalanche. There are three reason why this would be a good upgrade for me. The first reason why I should switch to a Chevy Avalanche is because my Chevy truck has 2 doors. It makes it hard to give my friends rides, or if I we decide to just go to a place in one car. There is no room in my truck. The most you can fit in this truck is 2 big people and a little person. It’s not safe at all because the middle person does not have a seat belt. The Chevy avalanche has 4 doors and a maximum of 6 passengers. What I love about my truck is my bed. It’s easy to unload and load stuff into it. The Chevy avalanche also has a bed but with more room. It’s also very stylish truck. Compared to other trucks the Chevy avalanche is by far the most stylish. Next is the power performance. The Chevy Colorado only has power locks. It’s not standard; I had to get it installed separately. The windows are manual and they have to be crank to roll up/down. It makes it a hassle when you have to exercise your arm if you want to roll down the window. Also with manual locks you have to insert the key and make sure its lock. Well the Chevy avalanche has power everything. Even the seats have power in them. It comes with a remote key therefore you can lock your car by simply pressing a button. The windows are power and by a push of a button the window easily slides down. The Chevy Colorado only has 2 wheel drive. In the snow, the Colorado does not get that much traction. Icy road and very packed areas can make it very dangerous because there is no weight in the back of the bed. The Avalanche has 4 wheel drive and it is a lot heavier than the Colorado. It makes traction so much better. Lastly is safety. Since the avalanche is a bigger truck and higher off the ground collisions are less dangerous. The air bags in the Avalanche were tested and proved in a crash test that the total injury is less than in if you were in a Colorado. The Colorado truck is a lot smaller that’s why it didn’t get enough stars for it to be safe. The avalanche also has an anti theft device and alarm. My Chevy Colorado does not have an alarm. With the avalanche its standard and your insurance rates go down due to the alarm. It makes it harder to steal the avalanche. Over all the Chevy Avalanche is a wise upgrade from a Chevy Colorado. The price with the trade in is $5,234 with the extra room, stylish look, extra feature that it comes with and that it’s a bigger truck make a good upgrade. Also with the mechanical problems out of all the complaints and Chevy avalanche owners there are fewer problems. Upgrading to this vehicle will help me in the future if I ever have to tow or move something. It will also help me with finally being able to give my friends a ride without them being squished. moreResolved Question: What are car insurance prices like in the U.S for a 20 year old compared to the U.K?
moreResolved Question: Mitsubishi Eclipse or Galant?
Okay so I'm looking for a first car right now and I narrowed down my picks to two cars I want to get. A Mitsubishi Eclipse GS or a Mitsubishi Galant ES. In my price range (max of $6,000), it will most likely be a 2003 model for both cars. So what I want to know is which do you think is better and why? I compared both on KBB and they both have almost identical specs. (2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS or 2003 Mitsubishi Galant ES)Okay, Thank you all for answering. The car either the eclipse or galant would most likely be a V4 though so my insurance doesn't sky rocket since I'm 17( But it would be under my moms name). So it depends more on which has lower insurance cost moreResolved Question: Why are used cars priced almost as much as new cars?
I've always been told never to buy a new car because, "as soon as you drive it off the lot, you lose thousands of dollars in depreciation." But comparing used cars (Car Max) to new cars, I see that used cars with nearly 30,000 miles are only $500 to $2,000 cheaper than new cars. Some are almost the same price as new. Isn't it better to pay 10 to 15% more and get a new car with a clean history and no miles? moreResolved Question: Fast and affordable car?
What is a car that is fast and quick in the acceleration that isn't too much? I want a car that can beat a 350z Nissan. I was looking at Z28's but they only have about 180 hp (1979) compared to the 300+ on a 350z. Top price about 8k moreResolved Question: Cars in Michigan cost more than California, wtf?
Man, what a rip off here in Michigan. I moved here in Sept 2011 seven months now. I'm 28 and working out here. I been vehicle shopping on Craiglist and the price is ridiculous. I can't find a reliable and decent looking vehicle within my price range ($2,000-4,000) but I really want to spend the most is 2,000. I checked Kelly Blue Book and it shows the difference comparing the two states. It doesn't make sense shouldn't it be the other way around. I sold and bought on Craiglist before so I know what I am talking about. I also have cousin and friends I went with plenty of time to check out a car. I seen A LOT of vehicles posted on Craiglist in Michigan and most of them look like sh*t for the price I really want to pay. What you will find in Michigan Craiglist for a $2,000 vehicle. - rust, nothing but rust. Big a*s rust holes like a bunch of termite chewing thru the metal. - 200k mileage and up - 1996 model and below only, maybe now and then you'll find a new model in this price range - don't run and look like sh*t like a gernade was thrown at it and they're trying to sell it for 2,000 - lots of dents - salvage title - major mechanical issues - people post from out of state like Kansas, IL, IN or place that are 3 hour away (you almost never see that kind of posting in CA.). I mean really who will drive 3 hours to go check it out by the time you get there someone in that area bought it. What you will find in California Craiglist for $2,000 - 90k -180k mileage anything over 200k the price really have to drop BUT not in Michigan! - no rust at all - 2009 model and below, usually the new model that sell cheap have issues but you can still find a lot of them selling in the 2,000-3,000 range. - basically something decent no dents, decent mileage, and everything functional. Anywhere from 1,200 - 2,000in California that's literally the average and you'll still get something decent. If your from Michigan don't take this the wrong way. I have looked in Batte Creek, Lansing, Muskegon, Holland, GR. just about the whole West Michigan area. I'm still looking. I am just surprise at the cost I guess this even it out since the cost of living here is a lot cheaper. moreResolved Question: Will a bicycle be sufficient transportation on Oahu?
I am moving to Oahu later this year with my Honda Fit, but I've heard that congestion on the island can be a nightmare and gas prices are exorbitant (compared to rural Virginia), so I don't want to use my car very often if I can avoid it. For those of you who live near Honolulu, will a bike provide adequate transportation in and around Honolulu, or should I just suck it up and use my car (or purchase a moped)? Thanks! moreResolved Question: In general, how much will car dealers take off an internet price of a used Porsche Boxster S?
I am looking to buy a used Porsche Boxster or Porsche Boxster S, either a 2012 or 2011 or 2010 model year, with less than 10,000 miles on it, next spring. Currently, I have started doing a little research on this project. It would be helpful to know what if any percent dealers normally give you off on such a buy. I do understand that my question is in at least one way hard to answer, because of all the variables from dealer to dealer and car to car. But, if anyone has any experience in doing this I would be interested in what they learned.( I was told by a friend that there is not much give in an internet priced car as compared to prices of cars you would find on a local dealer lot. Is this true?) Also, though I certainly plan to do all the final moves in making this purchase on-site in whatever state and city that has the car I want. But, I may opt for having the dealer ship the car to me rather than driving it home myself. How much would this cost if, for example the shipping distance was 1000 miles to my house? Any idea? Also, in the Porsche Boxster S they have a PDK transmission. I would like to know what it is like in using something like this? How smooth is its use in either manual or automatic mode? Any problems? One final question, is there a significant difference in the driving experience between the Boxster Base and the Boxster S, or do both cars react about the same? (I do realize the Boxster S has a little bigger engine and is a little faster.) I thank one and all for any help and insight you can give me in advance. moreResolved Question: which car is better? After working for a few weeks at Lemon Leasers, you decided that the car rental business is for you. You plan to go into business for yourself, feeling confident that the data you have collected over the past few weeks will be useful to you. These data indicate that most daily car renters drive either fewer then 50 miles or more than 200 miles. You wish to set your rates so that they will be less expensive than both of the other two care rental organizations only for those trips that are between 50 and 200 miles. In this way, you are prepared to mount a fierce advertising campaign, quoting unbeatable prices for trips in this range while minimizing your financial risk (Explain why this is true). Use the data provided to decide what your fixed fee and per miles charges should be. Remember, your rates must be less expensive than those of both competitors for trips between 50 miles and 200 miles in length, inclusive. They must not be less expensive than both of the other companies outside this interval. Show your price structure both algebraically and graphically. Then compare it to the other two. The two companies rates are: Use a loser car rental $32 a day plus 27¢ a mile. lemon leasers $28 a day plus 30¢ a mile any help ? moreResolved Question: Jack Russell puppy question...how much to spay?
I have a 6 month JRT bitch, I want to book her in to get spayed tommorow. I've looked at a few different vets websites nearby and they don't give any indication of price. I've left messages with the three nearest but I'd like to know whats the average sort of price. Has anyone had this procedure done to their puppy recently and how much did it cost? The vet she usually goes to seems overpriced compared to what friends say they pay for treatments, it's so hard to find good value when they don't put prices on the website. Also how groggy are they afterwards? My car failed MOT so I would have to walk her there and not sure whether I need to find a taxi which accepts dogs aswell. moreResolved Question: Why do Americans have money problems?
I live in Canada and I know many Americans complain about money. Why? In Canada, (I live in Vancouver) we pay $6 per gallon, insurance costs more, we get payed less, an average house in America that costs $150,000 costs $900,000 here, cars cost more, most items cost more compared to the US. Why is it that gas prices in America cost less, insurance costs less, you get payed higher salaries, cheaper houses, cheaper cars, stuff costs less, and yet Americans complain about money. Why? (please no rude comments). No, we arent $14,000,000,000,000 in debt to China, btw you forgot 3 0s.I am not making this up, I live in Vancouver I think I know how much stuff costs here, I have compared house prices from Canada and the US, what I am really trying to ask is, why do Americans have more financial problems compared to Canada even though pretty much everything costs more here. When I say Americans I don't mean the country, I mean the people, I am not debating that America was recently in a recession and they are $14 trillion in debt, or the unemployment rate differences. I know all those things but I am asking WHY do Americans have so much debt. moreResolved Question: Should I move to save a little money?
Hello, I was wondering what people think. I am thinking about moving... the location is 45min. from my job compared to 20min. I travel now. The price for rent would be cut in half and also the utility bills would cost me a little less. All together I would save about 200$ a month! Even factoring in the price of gas. I am wondering if it is worth the travel time because of the ware on my car. It is a nicer location too, the neighborhood that is. moreResolved Question: Parts for a slightly wrecked silverado?
I just recently got in a wreck with my pickup. Luckily it did hardly anything compared to the other car (luckily the other driver and myself are ok). The main things that I need to get fixed are the front bumper (chrome), a busted headlight bucket (the headlight itself is broke, but i'm going to replace both of them anyway), and a broken grille. I plan on paying for them myself since I feel like I should do the responsible thing instead of making mom and dad pay for it. How much would it cost to replace the listed parts and where could I find replacement ones that aren't outrageously priced? Any help is much appreciated. moreResolved Question: Are Hyundai's expensive to fix?
I'm looking at buying a 2011 Hyundai i30 Trophy. I have been told that Hyundai's can be expensive to fix if something goes wrong, as parts are expensive. How do they compare in price to repair? moreVoting Question: Importing an Aston Martin?
What is stopping me from Importing an Aston Martin from the Uk to make a profit. Ok so I begin by comparing an Aston Martin DBS 2011 from both carsales.com.au and http://www.compucars.co.uk The UK model is £149,990 (AU$ 222 500) and The Australian price is $557 806. Ok so firstly there is a discrepancy of $337 000 dollars, which is a huuuuge sum of money. I have researched Import options and have found it to be least expensive if you have owned the car overseas from 12 months before Importing. So If I were to work in Jolly ol' London Town from a year or so, having bought one at the start of my journey, what would stop me from importing the car ( probable still worth around $500 000) In the australian market and selling it when I return. That way I would a) profit a few thousand dollars and b) get to drive a truly beautiful piece of machinery around for 12 months. Im sure Ive missed something because it just seems to good to be true, but I havent found anything in my preliminary research! any insight? moreWelcome to Compare Car Prices News
