Open Question: Are those who teach of eternal punishment, are telling you the Truth? Why not to compare?
This is what Koran says, read carefully and compare to what the church from Rome as taught for centuries: 26 The Unbelievers say: "Listen not to this Qur'an, but talk at random in the midst of its (reading), that ye may gain the upper hand!" 27 But We will certainly give the Unbelievers a taste of a severe Penalty, and We will requite them for the worst of their deeds. 28 Such is the requital of the enemies of Allah,- the Fire: therein will be for them the Eternal Home: a (fit) requital, for that they were wont to reject Our Signs. [Quran 41:26-28] 35 O ye Children of Adam! whenever there come to you messengers from amongst you, rehearsing My signs unto you,- those who are righteous and mend (their lives),- on them shall be no fear nor shall they grieve. 36 But those who reject Our signs and treat them with arrogance,- they are companions of the Fire, to dwell therein (for ever). [Quran 7:36] 70 Those who reject the Book and the (revelations) with which We sent our apostles: but soon shall they know,- 71 When the yokes (shall be) round their necks, and the chains; they shall be dragged along- 72 In the boiling fetid fluid: then in the Fire shall they be burned; 73 Then shall it be said to them: "Where are the (deities) to which ye gave part- worship- 74 "In derogation of Allah." They will reply: "They have left us in the lurch: Nay, we invoked not, of old, anything (that had real existence)." Thus does Allah leave the Unbelievers to stray. 75 "That was because ye were wont to rejoice on the earth in things other than the Truth, and that ye were wont to be insolent. 76 "Enter ye the gates of Hell, to dwell therein: and evil is (this) abode of the arrogant!" [40:70-76] This is what Abraham believed: [Psalms 37:20] "But the wicked shall perish. The enemies of Yahweh shall be like the beauty of the fields. They will vanish-- Vanish like smoke." - NOT BE TORTURED IN FIRE FOR EVER. [Genesis 6:7] "Yahweh said, "I will DESTROY man whom I have created from the surface of the ground; man, along with animals, creeping things, and birds of the sky; for I am sorry that I have made them." - He will not TORMENT, but destroy, again. moreOpen Question: My friends always putting herself down?
My best friend in the whole world, who I love with all my heart like she was my sister is always putting herself down. We both write stories and she's always talking about how amazing, beautiful, creative and kind I am and how brilliant my writing is and how wonderful my book characters are. Now, this wouldn't be a problem if she didn't add: Your characters are so great, "mine will never be as good as yours." She's always talking about how her stories and characters will never be as good as mine, how she'll never be as good as me, how I'm the greatest and she doesn't compare. This worries me, don't get me wrong, I love the way she talks about me, who wouldn't? But she upsets herself all the time, she gets upset because she feels as if she's not good enough, as if she can't compare to me, just, she feels like she's beneath me and she's not. I swear I don't do anything to encourage this behavior, I don't go on about myself or how good I am, in fact, I'm always telling her how beautiful she is and what a wonderful author she is but she doesn't believe it, I say she she's beautiful and she brushes it off, "not as beautiful as you," I tell her she's a great author, "not as good as you." What am I supposed to do here? I hate to see her upset herself and put herself down like this but what am I supposed to do? I text her, "good morning beautiful" she'll reply, "good morning perfection". I encourage her, I'm as loving as I can be, I'm as compassionate as I can be. What else am I supposed to do? moreResolved Question: I'm a proud hufflepuff, but after reading a review on the houses i feel lame?
On the pottermore website i was sorted into the Hufflepuff house. Now i know it's just a website and it's not real but i really am proud to be a hufflepuff and feel that i match many the house qualities. Up until now i've stood strong when others have mocked the house for its less dominant appearance in the books and films, and have concentrated on its stronger qualities but after reading the article my self esteem has plummeted. The review made me feel like crap. Basically it was saying all hufflepuffs are useless, the softies, leftovers, followers and untalented. The article was saying that my future would go unnoticed and would soon fail as i have no skills. It's terrible to be obsessing over one single person's opinion but it really did make me feel like a shadow. Anyway, your opinion will be taken in gratitude. Thanks XOh, and if you're going to tell me to get out the house more often, it's probably best that you're not inside, on the internet answering questions with snide remarks on yahoo yourself... moreOpen Question: A fantasy book/series that is like a breath of fresh air?
A fantasy book/series that is like "a breath of fresh air". I'm tired of Tolkien influenced books. I'm tired of Dracula influenced vampires. I'm tired of young adult dystopian books, or anything compared to Harry Potter. I'm tired of faux action girls, rebellious princess, and most all meat-headed heroes/protagonists. I'm tired of names like: the creator, goddess of light, the destroyer, the forest of death, or the sword of all that is good in the world. But most all I'm looking for a great story and a great protagonist. An original premise. I would prefer no magic. I'm thinking of buying a Polaroid camera to use for my scrap booking, but I've just realized that I can buy a regular camera and use a printer to print the pictures. The reason I'm asking this question is because when I was young I had a Barbie Polaroid camera and I used to think it was magic how the picture would come straight out of the camera the way it did, and so it's just me wanting to relive some childhood nostalgia, but I also like the quality of Polaroid pictures, it's kind of "vintage" and unique if you know what I mean, compared to pictures printed on plain old paper. But on the other hand I'd like a proper camera that is diverse in the quality of images it takes. Should I buy a regular camera or a Polaroid? moreOpen Question: How to compare China and US nominal real and deflator GDP?

Ok so there is this guy that I totally like. All my friends say he like me, but that's just what they think. They don't know for sure. So I wanted others opinions about it. He just broke up with his girlfriend and the only person he would text that night was me. He stares at me a lot, and we have been talking very much here lately. The guy that I like best friend said that he wants my mouth. (so he said that the guy that I like wants me mouth...whatever that means.) Also he just started texting me out of nowhere. We went out once and everyone thought that he was cheating on me but when I was texting him he told me "You know that I never cheated on you right?" And I wondered why he told me that. A couple days ago I started coughing really bad and my eyes got glossy and wet and he thought I was crying and he started to freak out. One time we were comparing out hand sizes and when we did this interlaced his fingers with mine like we were holding hands. He tells me everything. His old school, his family, his grades....I could write a book on him. In science the class was talking about what we wanted to be when we went to collage. And he knew what I wanted to be....which makes me think that he listens to me. I'm a college guy, a Bio major, and you can imagine how incredibly dry my love life is. However, in my chem lab, two semesters ago, (yes, this is how long it's dragged on) I became lab partners with this girl. We would go out alone together, never explicitly stating they were "dates." Let me add, there was no way she saw me as a best guy friend. We would do the typical things like flirt on the phone/skype late at night. Things went down hill when work was becoming more taxing on my leisure time, we would plan dates and my boss would call me in, so I had to flake. We would plan to take classes together, but a better professor would appear, or I wanted the timing or arranging to be different, and I know this sounds horrible, but remember, I'm a bio major, my grades are important, and whose to say she too, if she had the knowledge too wouldn't jump on the opportunity of switching to another class. We would argue a lot, but never serious, playful arguing, friends would say we resembled a married couple. I could ramble about the details, but I hope this persuades readers enough that there was a mutual interest and reciprocation. Due to work and other factors, another guy swooped in and now they're together. I don't want to compare myself to a movie, because those are hollywood produced, but my friend told me to watch the notebook, and I can't stop but feel as if I'm in a similar predicament as Ryan Gosling's character, Noah, in the Note Book. She's with another guy right now, who can make her happy, and right now I'm off building a home in vision of what she's dreamed of. Haha, however, I'm not building a house, I'm just trying to build my character, stepping up my game, exercising, searching for more opportunities to succeed but...even though I've made many attempts to move on, during class, people say she oftentimes stares at me, although I'm on the opposite side of the room. Friends would also tell me that she would often wander on my facebook page and look at my pictures. Perhaps that's just one's general curiosity, however, I've been somewhat testing her. She still reciprocates and agrees to late night phone calls and webcam sessions at midnight, and despite my mad flirting, she has yet to confront me. She has yet to tell me she has a boyfriend already, or state, "Hey, I'm uncomfortable with you talking to me like this. I have a boyfriend." I know, the common and right thing to do is move on, there are other fishes in the sea, but, I really like this girl. We've had these indescribable and sentimental moments together that Yahoo Answer word count won't allocate. I've asked a plethora of friends, and I'm still misguided. Perhaps asking strangers on yahoo answers would produce the same outcome, but I'm willing to read and listen. Thank you for reading. I really appreciate it. moreResolved Question: About "Would, Should and Could", could you help me?
My doubt is about their pronuciation. Sometimes I hear someone says "Wəd" as in book, and sometimes "Wud" as in food. After all, how should I pronounce "Would, Should and Could"? moreOpen Question: Isn't it hypocritical to be against relationship between cousins?
In April 2002, the Journal of Genetic Counseling released a report which estimated the average risk of birth defects in a child born of first cousins at 1.7–2.8% over an average base risk for non-cousin couples of 3%, or about the same as that of any woman over age 40. In other words, first-cousin marriage entails a similar increased risk of birth defects and mortality as a woman faces when she gives birth at age 41 rather than at 30. But I don't hear people saying women shouldn't be allowed to have kids after 40. And we let people "with known genetic disorders" have children, when the likelihood of them passing on the disorder is greater. Marriages between first or second cousins are still about 10% of the world's marriages. Cousin marriage is legal in California, New York, Massachusetts, and every country in the European Union except Romania and Bulgaria. Famous people who married their cousins include Charles Darwin, Albert Einstein, Jeanne Calment (the oldest person who ever lived that we can verify), John F. Fitzgerald (JFK's grandfather), Oliver Wendall Holmes Sr (father of Chief Justice OWH, Jr), Jerry Lee Lewis, John McDonald (first Prime Minister of Canada), Thomas Malthus, Christopher Robin Milne (the Christopher Robin the Winnie-the-Pooh books were based on), Samuel Morse, Edgar Allan Poe, Igor Stravinsky, HG Wells, Martin van Buren and five signers of the Declaration of Independence. In my opinion, being against it because it's "gross" is very similar to being against gay marriage because it's "gross." (And anyone who thinks, Shame on you for comparing them! is precisely the type of person I'm calling a hypocrite.)The fact I feel the need to express that I'm for gay marriage disappoints me. moreOpen Question: Harry Potter or Twilight: My Opinion and Yours?
This feud has happened since the first Twilight book was released, and everyone has been adding fuel to the fire. I'm actually pretty sick of it, and so I want Yahoo users opinions on things. I'm going to be providing my opinion too. Your choice will not sway my answer, it will be how well you hold your answer and how much research you did on it. Here is my opinion on the feud: Harry potter is better. Harry Potter was and still is my childhood. With all those twilight fans saying Rowling copied Meyer...it just pisses me off to no end. Here are some of the things I want to correct that are misunderstood by Twihards. 1. Jacob Black and Sirius Black. This one really shouldn't be hard to tell. Sirius was created WAY before Jacob. 2. Mind-Reading. You Twihards have Edward, who can read peoples minds, but we have actual physics who can actually SEE with their own eyes what is going on. 3. Mental Shields. Bella, sure, she's pretty cool, but besides having a beautiful face with shields, what else does she got (Not including the Breaking Dawn part 1 and 2). In HP, all characters have the power to shield there minds, not just a random few. 4. Seers. even I have to admit, Alice is pretty badass. She, Jasper, Carlisle, and Emmett are my favorites in the whole serious ,and that's saying somethings. HP has a professor that can tell when things are going to happen too, only it's in a..stranger way. 5. Vampires. This might be a bit shocking, but yes, HP DOES have vampires in it, the non-sparkly kind. 6. Werewolves, (More likes Shape-shifters in Twilights place, but virtually the same thing.) Yours are fluffy and cute, ours are powerful and frightening. 7. Shape shifters. Ahah! Oh wait...HP had them first. Professor McGonagal? Yep, she's badass! 8. A Villain. You have James, someone who is really hot, and not really scary. We have Voldemort, a pretty badass yet scary snake thing...Abs or Snake.. which are scarier? Victoria can't even compare to Bellatrix... 9. Anyone can tell yo that Twilight boys are really hot. But HP characters, have personalities. And show emotions. And a lot of other things... These are my reasons. Give me yours, and I'll sort through your facts. I can't wait to see how many are true or not. moreResolved Question: How to stop peeling nails?

I'm investigating characters and their powers to see if I have a unique idea for a character. I would like to compare superpowers to see if there are already existing characters with the types of powers I'm considering. what are some characters (either good or evil) that have the following powers or themes? the character can turn invisible and/or the character can then invisible by entering a 'fourth-dimension' type of place, or an alternate universe type of 'dark world' and/or the character has a mischevous slant (though the character could be either 'good' or 'evil' and/or the character is sometimes at the mercy of his/her own power (ex. the xmen character that Anna Paquin played in the movies) and may not be partial to the powers, and this conflict may be what makes them mischevous mostly the invisibility and fourth dimension/dark world aspects moreResolved Question: What has caused the decline of the USA?
What is your opinion and do you have facts? moreOpen Question: does the following infinite series converge or diverge using the comparison test?
the sum from n=1 to infinity of ((1 +1/n)^2)/(e^n) . The back of the book says it converges, and the only way I can think of solving it is to compare it to the sum from n=1 to infinity of (2/e)^n which is a geometric series and converges since 2/e <1 , but is this how you do it or did I just get lucky? I can also use the limit comparison test to do this problem, but those are my only options. Thanks so much! moreOpen Question: please i need help on how to successfully induce labor at home?

I've been looking up more and more, and its finally got me here. Its a long message but it is well worth reading and telling your own opinion. I know people who are strong Christians, but who deny facts placed in front of them. I know atheists, who deny God, and say he makes no sense; therefore he is not real. These two common ideas contradict each other, but why can they not co-exist? what says one or the other is false? The big bang, creation, for example, is completely different for the each belief. Christians believe the universe came together in a matter of mere days, and was already up to date with to modern life. The Atheists, they believe that it took 13.8 billion years for the universe to come together as it is now, and that Earth was not its priority. Those are so seemingly different. However, could the bible be metaphorical here? Could this be a metaphor, comparing days to something else, as in for God himself it seemed like days? Christians, now, it is true and factual that the bible was tampered with in moments of history to make Jesus himself seem more God-like. There could be things missing that could help put together the beliefs, or things could be added that at the time seemed like a good idea. The bible is a book, it is the word of God. However, maybe the one we know and cherish today is a paraphrased edition. It could have been translated wrong from language to language, making one word slightly out of place, and translated again, so it becomes a game of telephone. A great example is that the devil was compared to a dragon in the early bible, but now modern translations now use the word jackal. Dragons and Jackals are very different things. Another thing is evolution. Humans already in their modern state is what Christians believe God did in a day [could be a metaphor as in a day in God's view, as in it takes a whole day for this to happen, perhaps this means that it took a day in comparable strength for God to do this (before you say, "God has all strength, it only takes him seconds," then explain why it took a whole day to rest, why was he so sore?)] and that humans were created as we were today. Science says we came from one location and spread. Why is one or the other wrong? Why cant God have created pre-evolutionary humans, and guided them along the way? He says he made them in their image, but what if that really means he made them in the image that they will one day be? AND that does not have to mean PHYSICAL image, rather spiritual or intellectual. Someone explain why these cannot co-exist? And (slightly more personal) why are Christians always hashing on Atheists, and Atheists always insulting Christians (may not be everyone, I know, but it is a majority)? A good christian should love everyone, and tolerate other religions, even the absence of one. Atheists however seem to want the betterment of mankind. Causing arguments and insulting people is not going to solve the world's problems. SO, in summary, can Christians (or any religion in belief of a God or deity) and the people of science BOTH be right? Through small examples I have given, explain your thoughts and beliefs. Please try your best to be non biased and kind! Thank you, I am quite curious for your answers. moreTop Book Compare Links
